UPDATE: California Democrat Now Accused Of Sexual Assault and Harassment

RSS Feed Attorneys for an unnamed woman have released a statement maintaining their client was sexually harassed and assaulted by California Democrat, Representative Jimmy Gomez. Earlier in the week, we told you about a House Ethics Committee investigation into alleged inappropriate sexual conduct by Gomez, and when the Congressman released a statement reacting to the investigation, he acknowledged he made “mistakes” in his marriage, but insisted they were were consensual and not in violation of House Ethics rules. The accuser’s attorneys made it very clear in their statement, this was NOT a consensual situation.

But this all was bubbling up this week, and he responded by yes, saying he made mistakes outside of his marriage, but he insisted that any incidents where those mistakes occurred were consensual and not in violation of House ethics rules.

And with that, we're now hearing from female lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, Democrats and Republicans calling for them the committee to speed up its investigation ahead of the midterms.

Although my actions were consensual in nature and haven't violated the law or house ethics rules, that doesn't diminish the impact that these mistakes have made on those I care about the most. I take full responsibility and have committed myself to working through the pain privately with my wife and family. So he is only admitting to personal mistakes with his family. He is not admitting to doing anything illegal criminal to another woman, and certainly he's not admitting to doing anything that would jeopardize his position in the house.
