But Robes, let's start with an update on the US war with Canada.

Speaker 1: I can't believe we're even saying this. Yes, it's a trade war, but a war nonetheless. And President Trump is now threatening additional tariffs on Canadian goods. This would be in addition to the fifty percent tariffs that already went into place a couple of days ago after trade talks broke down.

Says the US is being ripped off by Canada, and says, starting next January, quote tariffs on all cars, trucks, both large and small automotive parts and steel will be increased to fifty percent. Canada would be treated like a state, no longer on trade and in other ways. Also, they are moving the worst, or rather they are among the worst nations in the world to deal with. They feel entitled and yet we don't need Canada. They need us. That last part in all caps, my goodness.

Also on the President's front here, the Supreme Court gave the President of victory yesterday voted in favor of allowing the Trump administration to implement its plans to restrict mail in voting. But Rovetz gets a little more complicated.

Speaker 1: Yes, the President signed an executive order in March that created state citizenship lists and calls for the Post Office to be the gatekeeper of who does and does not receive a mail in ballot. The Court's emergency order, in which all three liberal justices dissented, now clears the way for the mail in voting restrictions.

Some people are starting to mail out their mail on ballots soon in the next couple of weeks, and do they have time to get all this in place from the midterms. We don't know. We also have more legal fights ahead based on what the Supreme Court just did and also wrote. I mean, is everybody going to challenge the election now? If these don't get implemented in time, they'll say, well, this isn't a fair election because Robes, this is a mess. This is what was asked for, and this is what we saw coming chaos in the midterms that nothing is going to be deemed legitimate. He's going to be able to say somebody's cheating here or here. Speaker 1: Next up on the run, at least thirty homes have been destroyed in the Hawk fire, which has now burned more than twenty three miles. This is happening near Reno. There is some good news though. Firefighters are beginning to make some headway. The fire is now twenty seven percent contained.

Speaker 2: Also an update here, sixty thousand people remain under evacuation orders and warnings. That's a lot, but it's down from the ninety thousand that were once under those orders. So again they were making It was zero percent contained, I think as of Sunday or early Monday, So this is.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, let's head to Massachusetts, where the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial came very close to a mistrial yesterday after a fireworks filled day that concluded with the defense accusing the prosecution of intentional misconduct.

Speaker 2: Yeah, depends. Attorney Kevin Reddington asked for a mistrial after a prosecution rebuttal witness invoked Clancy's religion. That clearly frustrate judge immediately sent the jury out, eventually denied the motion for a mistrial. But Rhodes he knew as soon as once again they started talking about her religion and Catholicism and whether or not she can go to heaven and suicide roams. As soon as he heard this witness say it, he knew they were in trouble because this is the second time they've dealt with this.

Speaker 1: Yeah, the second time in just a week that the prosecution has been admonished for the mention of mortal sin. So the jurors were instructed to disregard the comment. Testimony resumes today. We're gonna have a full episode on this next because it really is fascinating. This is a clear violation of Massachusetts state law of federal law. You cannot invoke someone's religion when it comes to determine their credibility, and you certainly cannot ask somebody about their religion. Last week, we had the prosecutor directly asked Susan Clancy, are you a practicing Catholic. You literally cannot do that in an American courtroom.

Speaker 2: Ah, so we'll turn into another courtroom. We're keeping a close eye on this one in Vegas. Give you a quick update. Today's going to be day seven in the Tupac murder trial. Dwayne Davis, of course, charged with orchestrating and providing the gun in the killing of the rap icon Tupac Shakur in nineteen ninety six. What we saw yesterday with several interviews Davis, like we said, he wrote a book and he did a lot of talking, including in some documentaries. In some of his interviews from those documentaries were played yesterday, he did vary in some of the details of his story his account. So I guess that goes in line with his lawyer saying he's a liar.

Speaker 1: There might have been some different details but for various versions of the night where he still was involved in the killing, the shooting and killing of Tubac Shakur. So testimony continues this morning, and that would be the through line that has maintained throughout. Yeah, he's saying I was there and I know who killed him, and I gave I supplied the gun.

They haven't released either robes how he killed them. Also, why were there two dead dogs and two dead cats?

It's just appalling, all right. Next up on the run, this is a real mystery. A Southwest Airlines flight attendant has been found dead in Hawaii. It happened during her layover there, and her family is now demanding answers, saying there is no way she killed herself. Fifty year old Jenny Lopton fell from the twenty fourth floor of her hotel room.

That clearly frustrate judge immediately sent the jury out, eventually denied the motion for a mistrial. As soon as he heard this witness say it, he knew they were in trouble because this is the second time they've dealt with this.
