Speaker 2: I'm Amy Robots and I'm TJ. Holmes. We have a very busy, very even breaking news Morning Run. Several updates to several stories we have been following, will get going. Going to be making stops in Michigan, Florida, Seattle, the White House, the National Cathedral, Los Angeles, Idaho, Massachusetts, as well as the Great White Way. Let's start though at the White House. Robes. Big day. It's a hell of day to have these VIPs swinging by.

Speaker 1: Yeah, just a few guests coming by the White House Israelly, Prime Minister Benjamin Nettan Yahoo and Ukrainian President Zelenski. The two men will meet separately with President Trump and of course they will be discussing their separate wars that are both still ongoing.

Speaker 2: Yeah. The President has a busy day at the White House, certainly with those two swinging by, and then he is going to expect it to make remarks at the funeral for Senator Lindsay Graham. Yes, his funeral services are taking place today in DC. He of course died suddenly at the age of seventy one. But it's going to take place of the National Cathedral there in Washington. Yes, Trump is going to make remarks. Also, Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Yaho both expected to attend. I think that's a great testament to the impact he had over the years, not just in the US but on international politics. I think that's a nice nod to him that they're taking.

Speaker 1: Oh, it certainly is, and it's an incredible honor. And I mean, I think it's pretty cool that both those men are all going to be there in honor of him, but certainly at the White House meeting with the President next up on the run, we'll keep it in DC, so to speak. Senator Mitch McConnell is still missing, but put out another proof of life just in case you were wondering. Yes, he released another statement that included another photo. The Kentucky Republican has been absent from the Senate for nearly two more months now after taking a fall at home.

Speaker 2: Yeah. Before though, his office has been releasing very little information, and that's been a part of the problem here. We don't exactly know how he's doing took us a while robes before they even let us know that he had an actual fall, So that led to all kinds of criticism, speculation, and even wild theories. In his latest update, the Senator said he's still in rehab, not ready to return to work just yet. Don't know when he might return, but roads we are hearing from some Yes, you can imagine Democrats to say, hey, if you don't want to tell us more, or tell us how you're doing, or show us your face or answer some questions, it's time for him to consider resigning.

Speaker 1: All right. Next up on the run. Florida has a very busy day to day on death Row. The state has two executions scheduled for today, including the execution of an eighty year old.

Speaker 2: Yes, the first execution is scheduled to take place at noon. Feels weird to say that the first of the day up first things bizarre to have two executions, This is something they haven't done in the state in sixty plus years. But James Duckett is supposed to die at noon by lethal injection for the nineteen eighty seven murder of an eleven year old girl. He was the one that was a former cop.

Speaker 1: Correct right, correct, And then at six o'clock tonight, dominic Occeoni is also scheduled to die by lethal injection for the nineteen eighty six murder of his ex fiance's parents, and at eighty Ochoni will be the oldest person ever executed in Florida and the second oldest person ever executed in the United States. That one was twenty eighteen and eighty three year old at Alabama.

Speaker 2: Eighty years old. It seems wild roads where they are going to strap him to a gurney tonight, an eighty year old man and put needles in his arm? Now, what is going on? Yes, Florida and Desanta's down there has been signing these death warns left and right. But this is happening because Duckett was supposed to die in March, but he actually had a got a temporary reprieve from a court, and so they delayed and did some more test things, so he had to be rescheduled and here they are ends up scheduled on this day, so they got two today.

Speaker 1: Oo, all right? Next up on the run. Authorities say it was the dad who shot and killed his wife and their six kids before setting fire to their Michigan home. We first talked about this story over the weekend when the family of eight was discovered in their home. Firefighters were responding to reports of smoke, and police initially announced that yes, some of the people they found dead in that home had been shot.

Speaker 2: And now they say they were all shot and it was done by forty seven year old Christopher carol Keevich, shot and killed his wife and the six kids. They were all between the ages of five and fifteen, and then he set the house on fire, then turned the gun on himself. Robes don't know. There's no indication right now of what the actual hell happened in that house, why it happened.

Speaker 1: It's so creepy. We even talked about how we thought about Amityville horror, initially just imagining this all taking place, and turns out it was the dad that is just gutting.

Speaker 1: It just it doesn't make a lot of sense, all right. Next up on the Run. Police say now that they were actually three suspects involved in that deadly shooting on Sunday at a Seattle food festival, and of those three suspects, one is dead, one is in custody, and another is on the run.

Speaker 2: Yeah. Polase initially announced that three people were killed and four were wounded in that shooting. They now believe one of the suspects is among the dead. Baroves. A fifteen year old has been arrested, a fifteen year old. Don't know the age on the other person they're looking for, but a fifteen year old is in custody. Please believe the three suspects were engaged in the gunfight and other people bystanders got hurt.

Speaker 1: That is awful, all right. Next up on the Run, singer David has officially been ordered to stand trial for the murder of fourteen year old Celestrie vs. Hernandez. The judge made that ruling yesterday after a wo what a five day preliminary hearing. It was a mini trial of sorts and it had us all just on the edge of our seats hearing the unthinkable. Truly, over the last five.

Speaker 2: Days, it was disturbing. This was the disturbing preliminary hearing to watch the trial, you cannot imagine. But David, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to first agree murder, child, sex, abuse, and mutilation of human remains. The next court hearing is scheduled for late next month, and a trial could start rope by the end of the year. It has something has to happen within sixty to ninety days. But this next hearing will let them know they plan to do some scheduling. But yeah, that's I didn't realize that was gonna be next year for sure.

Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I wouldn't have expected it that soon, all right. Next up on the run, speaking of things that are unexpected, Brian Koberger, the man convicted of murdering for Idaho college students, now says he wants to withdraw his guilty plea. He wants to go to trial, and he made the request via a handwritten petition on Monday.

Speaker 2: Yeah, representing himself right now. But he has asked, he has asked the court, I should say, for a legal counsel. He pleaded guilty. You'll remember last year to the twenty twenty two stabbing deaths. Of the four students at their off campus home. Just a horrific incident that scared the hell out of everybody out there, Robes. How many was it weeks before they finally caught up to him.

Speaker 1: It took a while, and just that entire campus scenario was so much.

Speaker 2: So he now claims, Robes. He's not just that. He says he's innocent. He says he is innocent, and that he had ineffective lawyers who, for the most part, tricked him into taking that plea deal with promises of, among other things, Robes conditions. This didn't make a whole lot of sense as a justification, but he said, ineffective counsel is the reason for it. He has the right to do this. It is rare, but it does happen under certain conditions. You can withdraw guilty, plead ask.

We will follow up on that one, but next up on the run today will be day two of testimony in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mom who killed her three young children. We don't often say that when we're in a trial, but we do know that she in fact killed her children. But she's pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming that she was suffering from mental illness, specifically postpartum psychosis.

Speaker 2: Yeah, she pleaded not guilty, and then the opening statements. The first witness called was Clancy's ex husband, Patrick Clancy. He detailed her spiraling mental condition in the months and weeks leading up to her using resistance bands to strangle their five year old, three year old and eight month old. We do expect clans see Patrick Clancy to be back on the stand on Wednesday. Some other reason. They didn't really explain, rose, but they've had some other issue that's going to cause them to be out of course, So no testimony today.

Speaker 1: All right. Next up on the Run, Savannah Guthrie has made a new public plea for her mother's return and is appealing directly to her kidnappers. In a teary, tearful video posted to Instagram, Guthrie speaks about her family's constant agony in not knowing what happened to her mother, Nancy, who authorities believe was abducted from her Tucson home back on February first.

Speaker 2: Yeah, Broves, this was another tough one, and I guess kind of unexpected. There haven't been a lot of updates officially from authorities, so to get this kind of update felt kind of out of nowhere, and it made you think, Wow, I wonder what's going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. She's pleading with them to tell us where to look, saying things like that. Roe. She said that we've done our part. And as as soon as we heard that, we looked at each other and say, wait a minute, is she saying what we think she's saying.

It sounded like she was speaking to the kidnapper in code, so to speak. But that sounded like they paid money or they gave them something in exchange for information that they still haven't received.

Speaker 1: Welcome back to your Tuesday morning Run. And next up on Run, Carly Simon has revealed she has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The eighty three year old You're So Vain singer said she went to the doctor after recent episodes in which she couldn't even walk without help.

Speaker 2: Yeah. I think she went to the male clinic, she said, and then got extensive evaluation. Was eventually diagnosed with Parkinson's and she's in right now. She's just learning, has to learn to live with it. She has a long statement saying it's different for different folks. In some days she can't even get out of bed. Wow, too weak to do anything but roch. She did say she has not stopped working. She actually did you know? She has a full length album coming out in August. That's impressive idea.

Speaker 1: Good for her, all right. Next up on the Run, the CEO of Cracker Barrel is out. Julie Messino will step down next month after three years on the job. There were some tumultuous years.

Speaker 2: Did you need to look up to figure out why she's out of a job now? Was this not one of the great blunders in company and business history? In the United States. You remember this. It was a disaster when they attempted to rebrand Cracker Barrel, including remodeling some restaurants, adding new items to the menu, and of course they changed the logo, took off the old guy with the with the overalls.

So it's not Purple Rain is going to go through his life and go through his music. No, No, it's actually going to be a redo, if you will, of the nineteen eighty four movie That's Fun, which is really fun.

We watched the stupidest fights over the stupidest little things, just to customize trying to win. Yeah, absolutely, to stop. That's that's what that's my takeaway from that.
