If you were watching any World Cup yesterday, you saw how dreadful they got at France came wow, oh they had a rain delay. Yeah, they got a weather delay for a little while.

Speaker 1: But those poor folks in the stands, I mean, once there was a lightning threat, they all had to be moved to a safer place. But when that rain was pouring, and those poor folks, they seemed happy in their ponchos getting completely pounded with rain.

Speaker 4: All right, Well, this morning, we're we're gonna be making stops in Nebraska, in Arlington, Texas, make us stop at the Supreme Court, make us stop in the Congo in Tucson, Arizona. And yes, Adam McDonald's dry through this morning. But let's start world. Yes, I was just talking about the two hundred fiftieth anniversary. Any thing's gonna play pretty prominently in the celebration is the reflecting pool at the National Mall, which, depending on who you talk to, is either a sludge pond or it's the most pristine pool you've ever seen.

Speaker 1: President Trump continues to insist that the problems of the newly renovated pool are the work of vandals, a claim that has yet to be verified with any evidence. In particular, the President says vandals use a knife to cut now. He says, a three hundred and fifty foot long slit in the pool.

Speaker 1: But now it's three fifty Okay, it's just a small area that they're having to repair.

Speaker 1: It is an absolute mess, all right. President Trump says he is preparing new lawsuits in the midst of all of this work that's being done, this time against ABC News. Why he doesn't like how they are covering all the drama with the reflecting pool.

Speaker 4: This isn't just a matter of you falsely reported this thing or that thing, or you put this fact up and it was wrong, or you did this intentionally.

Speaker 1: Yeah, he thinks they should be also including other items in their news coverage for further perspective, he wrote in describing the vandalism that took place in the reflecting pool in Washington, DC. ABC fake News, one of the worst in the business, even paying me sixteen million dollars for past bad and inaccurate reporting, failed to report that their close friends Democrats Obama, Obama and Biden spent over one hundred million dollars on the reflecting pool and it never worked.

Speaker 1: They wanted to spend three hundred to four hundred million dollars, but just let it rocked. I spent approximately sixteen million dollars and it came out great, except for the vandalism, which we are now fixing. It was also a much bigger job than originally envisioned, including the outer areas and sidewalks. We are preparing lawsuits against ABC for false reporting. I like their money, which will be given to the US Treasury. So he would have preferred that ABC News included the perspective of what Obama and Biden did when reporting or didn't do when reporting what happened to the reflecting pool. Does he actually think that he can sue someone for editorial reason?

It's going to I mean, you can't know, but it's just another thread against the media outlet. I suppose there are some unexpected headlines about the Nancy Guthrie case. Multiple media outlets are reporting never before released details of those ransom notes we heard so much about.

Speaker 1: That's right, In particular, a second ransom note that was sent after her February first disappearance that said the eighty four years had died. This is the first time we're hearing that that was a part of the second ransom note. And they're also reporting that the first ransom note included a request for millions of dollars, but the follow up notes stated Guthrie had died shortly after the kidnapping, but that they didn't mean to kill her. And media outlets are reporting federal authorities believe the notes are authentic.

Speaker 4: Yeah, and some confusion came because Harvey Levin got in front of a camera TMZ, of course, and he was saying the notes they received were different. They did not include anything about her being dead or an apology. So he was he's clearing out what we're in the notes that TMZ got, while other outlets were reporting what the Tucson TV station and other media outlets got, and those two things didn't seem to mesh. There was some confusion, but robed at the end of the day talking about Nancy Guthrie again. To have her name and this in the headlines has to be useful for the investigator.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, an update on the ongoing abola outbreak in the Congo. Health officials there now are reporting more than a thousand confirmed cases of the disease and two hundred and fifty four confirmed deaths.

Speaker 4: Yeah, this outbreak is being driven by that rare bundabougio virus for which there is no vaccine, no known treatments. Health officials still say they're playing catch up here Robe. They believe the outbreak started weeks before, maybe even a month plus before they even became aware of it. And that number thirty five thousand they're saying is possible there were thirty five thousand contacts out there that they need to possibly track down ropes. Still weeks and they are still behind. They say they're still catching.

Speaker 1: And it is still out of control and certainly far from contained, all right. Next up on the run, The Supreme courts or has denied a new trial for the man convicted for killing six year old Eaten Pats. He was abducted in nineteen seventy nine from Soho as he headed to the school bus.

Speaker 1: Might remember, you'll certainly recognize his face, this little boy's face and drew international headlines became a public sensation. As the case remained unsolved for decades. He was basically the first kid's face on a milk carton.

Speaker 4: I mean everything we see about amber alerts and things like that we see now all came really from this particular case. Pedro Hernandez was eventually convicted for the kidnapping and murder of Eton, but last year an appeals court tossed his conviction. They were saying that there was improper jury instruction, essentially saying the judge did something wrong. But the Supreme Court ruled yesterday not on the merits of that. Rather, they ruled the lower court didn't have the authority, they didn't have the right to make their ruling. So Hernandez's conviction is going to.

Speaker 1: But now alas finally that quarantine is over. The remaining eight American passengers from the hantavirus infected cruise ship have completed their forty two day quarantine and they have been allowed to leave the Nebraska quarantine facility.

Speaker 4: And you'll remember we had eighteen altogether that were eventually brought back from that ship, but some have already before now been able to go home because they agree to monitoring and restrictions on their movements. These last eight didn't have that luxury. At least their governments weren't going to do it, or they didn't want to do it. At least two people or this remaining eight to this last eight rold were held against their will, some were under quarantine orders and vocal about it. But everybody's gone home.

Next up on the run, the long time and yes legendary former head of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, also has passed away. He served five terms as the Fed chairman under four presidents, beginning with President Reagan. His wife, longtime NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell, made the announcement. He passed at their home from complications from Parkinson's. Get this, Alan Greenspan was one hundred years old.

And media outlets are reporting federal authorities believe the notes are authentic.
