Trump Shares Incredible Details of Rescue… Then Hegseth Compares Airman To Jesus

Speaker 1: Hey, there are folks. It is Monday, April sixth, and as we're recording this, the President is still talking. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ again on this day on Monday, mineus the Amy. So you just got TJ here, but do want to hop on and give you updates. And again, as this is being recorded, the President is still speaking. He had a press conference that he's scheduled for today at one o'clock in which he is giving an update on the war in Iran. He's also given an update on that big rescue to the pilot and the systems officer from that downed fighter jet in Iran giving that update. So having to split this up into two. Actually, I'm actually hopping on to tell you about what he said so far because the press conference has a lot of information and it's kind of in two parts. One is this rescue, which is incredible when you hear the details, and the other is about the war in Iran and the update and some of the things coming out of the President's mouth are incredible. So I'm gonna have to do that in a separate episode, and to catch up he's still talking. I'm gonna listen to the rest of it, but there's just so much. So let's start with Yes, the press converence, he's out there with Hegseth, out there with the CIA director and also the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Kine, are all out there together. But the President starts off talking about this rescue. If you don't know. Of course, over the weekend, F fifteen E fighter jet went down in Iran, was shot down. The pilot was recovered in short order, but the systems officer who was on board had to evade Iranians, the Iranian hell, the Iranian citizenry was looking for him, not just the Iranian military, but he had to evade captors for forty eight hours almost and he was finally found and we got word he was back and he was safe. But now we're getting more and more of the details, and they are absolutely incredible to hear this. We've seen the stuff in movies. This happened in real life. Now this is absolutely incredible. Did not give actually too many details about what kind of physical condition this airman is in, but said is a kernel but was injured pretty badly in this whole ordeal. President even said he was bleeding pretty badly at some point, but in what he had to go through. So we'll get into all that. But the President said, this is the largest, most complex, most harrowing rescue mission really that you will ever hear of. He said, the entire country also could be taken on one night and right tomorrow. Okay, that's okay, Sorry, that note goes later. Sorry, he has some threats he had interspersed while he was given details, And I'm looking at my notes here. The president had plenty of threats. He was still directing towards the Iranians, but right now, just trying to focus on this mission. Go back. He said. This happened on at ten ten pm Eastern time. This was on Thursday night. Now, this plane took fire, This jet a fifteen E jet. I said this previously, think of really top gun Maverick and goose right. You got a front seater and a back seater is how they referred to it in military jargon. But you have the pilot in the front, systems officer in the back. They both ejected and landed safely, landed alive, but they landed a significant distance away from each other. As they were describing. Of course, these jets are going all kinds of crazy amounts of speed. You eject even seconds apart, you could end up miles apart. So they both ejected, both were okay, but they ended up in two different places. Now, the first rescue, according to the President, involved twenty one aircraft, many of them had to fly at low altitude. Again, we say the first rescue because the pilot was retrieved first and fairly quickly after the crash. So this one happened in broad daylight. According to HEXFF, they had to fly a mission seven hours broad daylight over Iraqi, in Iraqi airspace. So they use this to kind of make the point that, hey, I know one of our jets got shot down, but we were able to do these missions in broad daylight over this many hours. That lets you know just how much in control we are of Iranian airspace now. The entire time, according to the President and the stories they were telling, they got all kinds of enemy fire. The President, I believe said anybody in Iran that had a gun of any kind was shooting at these aircraft, at American aircraft, or they were trying to retrieve this systems officer. Now, the first wave went in and retrieved the pilot got them out fairly quickly. That was fairly early on. Now, as far as the second rescue goes, the CIA had to be called in to help. The CIA. According to the story they were telling, the CIA had special ability to track this pilot. Excuse me, I'm talking about the systems officer now, they had a special ability to do so. The CIA director actually got up there and was a part of this press conference as well, and there was nobody on earth who could see this system's officer who was hiding except for the CIA said, Iranians couldn't see him. Nobody could see him. But US said, the CIA has actually launched and this was interesting as well. The CIA launched a deception campaign as far as information goes, to try to fool the Iranians. They said worked. Wouldn't get into too many details, but also the president let these details be known. That the rescue of the second person, the systems officer, who was out there on his own some forty eight hours, involved one hundred and fifty five aircraft, included four bombers, sixty four fighters, forty eight refueling tankers, and some of them he said were not I guess the majority of them were not there to actually be a part of the actual rescue, but instead were sent to so many different sites to fool the Iranians, to make them think, oh, there's so much activity over here, then maybe the missing airman is over there. Then there's another section where the same thing is happening. He said it was part of a major deception campaign by the military to actually make sure Iranians were thrown off and didn't know what was going on. That was interesting as hell. The Heg Saith actually explained that this systems officer once he was able to get to a certain place and he had to on his own switch on his transponder to switch on to be able to communicate. He said, the first message he had was God is good. That was the first thing he said over the radio was God is good. Now at this point, Heg says went on to kind of tell the story here that his faith in fighting spirit shone through. And these are hexcess words. Of course, it was the Easter weekend, only weekend. This was Hex's's words. He was shot down on a Friday, hid in a crevice, hiding in a cave all of Saturday, rescued on Sunday, flown out of Iran as the sun was rising on Easter Sunday, a pilot reborn. You know where he's going with that, of course, But this has been a story, certainly as of late, how God has been injected into so much of what the US military is doing, the idea that God is on the US side. Of course, you've seen the stories. The Pope says that flies in the face of what God, what Jesus preached. But that's for another time. Just telling you what was reported today again with all of this going on, they reported no casualties. No casualties on the US side with all this going on. Also interesting detail is that during this rescue, the President described a couple of planes is getting stuck in the muck of the sand. They had to land, and they were so weighed down that they got stuck, and so they had to have other planes on standby, lighter planes to come in and pick up the people who couldn't get off on the planes they originally came in. And so the President said, those were the planes that were then blown up. The US military decided to blow up those planes instead of letting some delicate technology that was on those planes fall into enemy hands. That was interesting as well. The President, throughout this press conference and throughout the time and describing of this rescue mission, sounded genuinely impressed. I know, the President sometimes has a way of everything is the greatest ever or the most impressive thing the earth has ever seen. It was a victory like no one has ever seen. But you know that kind of stuff. This is one where genuinely he seemed impressed by what he saw as he watched this mission unfold, what the capabilities were. And this is one where it didn't felt like the President was overstating anything. This was incredibly impressive that the US military has the capability to do some of the things that they described today. It is it's unbelievable. But Admiral Kine, who was a part of this as well, said something really interesting. All the technology, all the warriors you can throw at it, all the aircraft, all the capabilities out there. He said, the airman's commitment to survival was key. He said that is always key to any of these. You have to have the person out there is the most important person in this entire rescue. And they said this person had the will to survive and understood the mission and how important it was to be rescued. Courage cannot be overstated, is what Cain said. Courage cannot be overstated for both of them who were stuck there. Now, I have to at least mention this. Not so much Kine, but certainly the CIA director and Hecseth both got up there, and it didn't come through fully for me, at least when the President, who spoke first, I was telling the story and giving some detail, it didn't seem like he was necessarily taking the biggest victory lap. Yes, well, it's credit for it, but when it comes to the presidential boasting, this wasn't the most extreme he's done. However, when the CIA director and Hecseth got up there, they were effusive. They were over the top in their praise, in their credit that they were giving President Trump for making the call, for being a courageous leader, for even for even giving courage to the warriors because they know that the president has their back. They went over the top in praising the president. That is fine, but it did at that point feel like this was something that was meant to make sure it scored political points for the president, even if he wasn't necessarily trying to score them for himself. But that's neither here nor there. Who cares give anybody credit whoever pulled this off, Give everybody credit involved. This was wildly impressive. One other nugget from the President here in this regard was about a threat of putting a reporter in jail who reported about the rescue. I'll explain to continuing here on this AMU, liss Amy and TJ. The President has wrapped now his comments. I told you I was splitting things up because the president's press conference he just held at the White House was split kind of into two different subjects. One came out with military leaders giving a lot of details about the rescue mission that made so many headlines over the weekend. But then the other part was him giving an update on the war in Iran and the timeline and the threats and the clock ticking and the ultimatum he gave them and all that stuff. So I'm going to have to separate that out into two different things because there's a lot about that as well. Last thing I want to button up here with is something that he did say in the press conference. There were times where he called on certain news outlets, and you know, he gave them the business business a little litle bit. The person from CNN, he'd say some fake news thing. New York Times say some fake news thing too. But he did make a comment in particular about the rescue of the second airman who was down to evade for forty eight hours. He said, we didn't confirm that because we were worried about that person's safety. It was an issue of national security. And then he said someone leaked it. Someone leaked that info that the second person was missing. And so he said, Now, the President said from the podium at the White House that they are going after that news organization and they're going after that reporter who first reported the story. And the President from the podium today threatened jail for that reporter. He said, more than once national security. We're going to claim national security, that this was information that should not have been leaked because it was in the nation's security interest. And he absolutely said he was threatening jail for this reporter. It is unclear to me quickly, because it was such wide reporting. I don't know who he's speaking of directly, as the organization or the reporter who reported that information first. But that was a part of the press conference as well. Again, a lot of information coming from the President just in an hour and a half press conference. This was just the stuff having to do with the rescue. He said some other things that are going to be getting a lot of headlines having to do with the war in Iran and this deadline that is coming up.
