Speaker 1: Hey, that folks. It is Saturday, February twenty eighth, and another breaking news update coming to us from Iran. The Supreme Leader is dead, according to multiple sources, mainly President Trump. With that, welcome to this episode of Amy and DJ Robes. This didn't take long as we're recording this. This whole operation was launched a little ower twelve but the fifteen hours ago, and now we're getting word they have taken out the Supreme Leader.

00:00:40
Speaker 2: Ooh, this is chilling. This is significant news. And we had been waiting actually because Israel had come out a short while ago confirming at least I believe, they said, we're ninety nine percent sure the Supreme Leader has been killed in the US Israeli airstrikes. But we were waiting to hear from President and Trump, who also was dancing around and saying, we believe he's dead.

00:01:04
Speaker 3: I don't want to confirm, untal I know for sure.

00:01:06
Speaker 2: And then yes, just a short while ago, we got confirmation from the President of the United States that Supreme Leader Ali Hamone is dead.

00:01:16
Speaker 1: And Ali Hamone is has been the face of this regime for a long time. He's eighty six years old, been in place in nineteen eighty what it is. So he has been there and been in place for decades. He serves as the head of all government. He is the spiritual leader, but he is also the head and has the final say in everything that that government does. This is significant. We don't know who is next, but Ropes at least right now, we're keeping an eye on what's happening on the streets. Will this now spur new confidence, new protests on the streets? Like Trump said, Hey, we're going to take down your government. Once we do, you need to go in there and take over yourself, telling the people on the street. But ro this embolden them now?

00:02:01
Speaker 2: It could, and I believe that is what the United States and Israel is hoping will happen.

00:02:06
Speaker 3: Here's the question though.

00:02:07
Speaker 2: Right now, Iran as of this recording, is denying that their supreme leader has been killed. You can understand why they would not want that information to get out to the masses. We don't know what type of access people there in Iran have to real information, to true information. Are they being told that Are they even hearing the reports that are coming now here around the world that.

00:02:30
Speaker 3: The leader, their leader is dead? That would embolden them.

00:02:32
Speaker 2: You would think to then pursue some of these rebel groups, some of these folks who have been.

00:02:36
Speaker 3: Trying to oust the government now thinking Okay, this is our moment.

00:02:41
Speaker 2: We've got our shot, We've got a window. But do they have access to this information? Do they believe which information do they believe is correct?

00:02:48
Speaker 1: Because it was floating again as we record this, This has been floating around for the past couple of hours, the idea that he has in fact been killed. That was net and Yahoo again he said it in a certain way, All signs point to him no longer being with us. But not long after that, the same time, you had a foreign minister out of Iran using the term safe and sound. He said. The President and the Supreme Leader were both safe and sound, the word he used. But we have a statement we just got here a short time ago, and extended one from President Trump letting the world know that in fact Hamone is dead.

00:03:22
Speaker 2: Yes, he said, Hamone, one of the most evil people in history, is dead. This is not only justice for the people of Iran, but for all great Americans and those people from many countries throughout the world that have been killed or mutilated by Hamone and his gang of blood thirsty thugs. He was unable to avoid our intelligence and highly sophisticated tracking systems and working closely with Israel. There was not a thing he or the other leaders that have been killed along with him could do. This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country.

00:04:00
Speaker 3: We are hearing that many of their.

00:04:02
Speaker 2: IRGC military and other security and police forces no longer want to fight and are looking for immunity from us. As I said last night, Now they can have immunity. Later they only get death. Hopefully the IRGC and police will peacefully merge with the Iranian patriots and work together as a unit to bring back the country to the greatness it deserves. That process should soon be starting in that not only the death of Haminae, but the country has been in only one day very much destroyed and even obliterated. The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue uninterrupted throughout the week or as long as necessary to achieve our objective of peace throughout the Middle East and indeed the world.

00:04:54
Speaker 1: Setting those up for a long haul. It sounds like here rogue, but he will take this as a success. This is a big moment. This is a big move, certainly by this president. But he just took out the leader of Iran, and there is this going to be the move that really spurs change. And they do it themselves, there's always ropes. They have a succession plan. Hamine, reported by The New York Times earlier this year, put a plan in place for his assassination for this exact thing. Do they take enough of them out that that plan is blown to bits?

00:05:30
Speaker 3: And that is the question.

00:05:31
Speaker 2: So, as you pointed out, he served as the leader for thirty seven years. That is longer than we can even get our heads around imagining what this will do to this country. Yes, that is a seismic shift. But Israeli officials have said, and we haven't gotten full confirmation, although Trump has alluded to this as well, that several of Iran's most senior military leaders have also been killed along with Hamine. So they said General Muhammad Pokpoor, that's the chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the most powerful force in Iran. They say they've taken out the defense minister, and they say they've taken out the former head of the Iranian Navy and someone who is a close advisor to Hamane. So they're claiming they basically got out the entire top leadership in Iran.

00:06:20
Speaker 1: They got dozens of dudes lined up, right, This is a massive This is a complicated and who knows if we have a very good handle even on this plan he has in place, but the but who's going to be in charge? Who's in charge even at this moment is always the risk. But Robes, this is a this is a rapid success, at least in this moment. They launched this thing overnight and here we are twelve fifteen hours later and this has taken place. I mean, Robes is there are plenty of folks and we haven't gotten even into this. You've seen the response isn't something to be expected. But as we speak, there's a un Scurity Council, the emergency session going on. Not everybody is standing up and applauding what's going on. Certainly a lot of Democrats are being critical. But Robes that fight at least is happening in rooms on the battlefield. At least this appears to be a sweeping success.

00:07:18
Speaker 2: Yes, in terms of if you are thinking, you've got a unobjective and the main objective is regime change. Yes, within fifteen hours, they have been extremely successful if they were able to take out all of the top leadership in Iran with outboots on the ground. By the way, we're just talking air strikes. We're just talking targeted air strikes. So that is fairly significant. And we are hearing from Carolyn Levitt folks in the White House talking about what President Trump is doing right now behind the scenes.

00:07:46
Speaker 3: As you point out, now, he has been on the phone.

00:07:48
Speaker 2: He has been on the phone with leaders of Middle Eastern nations, certainly much of Europe as well. Carolyn Levitt listed many of the folks he's already been talking to. Of course, this is going to require support. I mean, he didn't ask for permission. I don't believe he's asking for forgiveness, but certainly at this point now in terms of what happens next, and just to hear him say, the bombing is going to continue significantly for the rest of this week and beyond, potentially even until.

00:08:18
Speaker 1: What right, it didn't seem like it was that clearly divined, until what our objective of peace throughout the Middle East, Okay, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of peace throughout the Middle East, and Rose he put in there once again in this post, just like you said in his comments yesterday, announcing that the attack was going on, this idea of immunity. He's making an appeal to people in Oran, citizens and military members. He's telling the citizens to overtake your government. He's telling military members to put down your arms and enjoining those folks. He's almost directing a revolution from mar A Lago.

00:09:00
Speaker 2: I mean, that is what he is doing, so to speak. And he's doing it because that's what the power of the US and Israeli military is affording him, that ability to be able to say what he wants to happen. And while he's saying what he wants to happen, he's making sure everyone knows in that country that he means business.

00:09:21
Speaker 1: And we mentioned, of course, let's they mentioned Iran has retaliated, and they retaligated almost immediately, and this has been going on throughout the day. They have hit several targets throughout the region. Stay here, we'll explain the damage at least so far in the early reports, and where exactly Iran has been targeting the US. To hear all right, we continue here now on Amy and TJ. What's been a breaking news Saturday, breaking news, last day of Ebruary. Here as we record this, we just a short time would go really yeah, not even half hour. Yeah, I got word from President Trump that, in fact, the Supreme Leader Ayatola Ayatola Ali Hamoni of Iran has been killed. There were some back and forth robes, and the President was asked about it a little earlier if he believed the reports coming out of Israel that Hamone was dead, and he said, we believe those reports are correct. His posts just a short time ago. He's saying flat out and saying it as fact. And that's just a remarkable moment in Oran's history.

00:10:38
Speaker 2: Really, Yes, it's one of those moments where I think most people did not think they'd lived to see the day where something like this actually would happen or would be possible. And I was talking before the break wondering what word had gotten into Tehran to folks there in Iran. Do they have access to these reports that the Supreme Leader has been killed? And the New York Times is reporting celebration is in the streets in some neighborhoods of Tehran.

00:11:02
Speaker 3: They say that there.

00:11:03
Speaker 2: Are residents out in the streets, cheering, dancing, lighting fireworks just upon hearing the news that Ayatola, how many might have been killed. So they say there obviously that word has gotten out and we are starting to see folks come out and celebrate this news.

00:11:21
Speaker 1: Those pictures are going to be incredible when they start coming out and on that, those are going to be incredible. Iran did retaliate and robes you tell me. We were been looking at reports in various places, but as far as casualties or deaths on the US or the Israeli side, I haven't seen reports somewhere of that. However, I did see some reports of that Iran was reporting even a school was hit and there were dozens of deaths, but that's coming from Iranian officials. But I have not seen a confirmed reporter. You go clave, well, no.

00:12:00
Speaker 3: In terms of that there is something and this is yes.

00:12:03
Speaker 2: The Iranian state media reports that they are claiming, according to run, that one strike killed dozens of children at a girls' elementary school. There are other news outlets again coming out of Iran that said more than sixty people were killed at a school near a naval base. They're giving a death toll of eighty five dead, ninety three injured. So New York Times reporters, some American journalists who are there on the ground are working to confirm some of those numbers.

00:12:30
Speaker 3: But certainly we heard and.

00:12:33
Speaker 2: Saw President Trump say and reiterate that there will be casualties, and he said there could even be American casualties when all is said and done during this time, because he said this is going to be a massive, massive bombardment, and so he predicted this. He said there would be mass casualties, and he prepared Americans that some of our own may be a part of those numbers.

00:12:54
Speaker 1: And Iran, at least we haven't seen that anyone based on the strikes that Iran has long launched, that there are casualties to report, deaths to report associated to that. But they have hit at least eight or going after at least eight targets, eight things in the region, I should say from let's see cutter, Bahrain, we mentioned Kuwait, Jordan, Israel. I think a lot of pictures are coming out of Dubai, in particular because there's a scene there with the hotel, and those pictures are bringing incredible that a hotel there is on fire.

00:13:25
Speaker 3: Yes, that's disturbing.

00:13:26
Speaker 2: And then Israel there are they say they are severe sever your missile strikes that hit a building complex in the central.

00:13:32
Speaker 3: District of Israel.

00:13:33
Speaker 2: So they say there are several buildings that are on fire right now. Patients being taken out of a hospital nearby it's on fire as well. So yes, there is absolute damage, debris and casualties coming at or at least in terms of just injuries and damage happening with Iran fighting back. And so yes, I imagine until the US and Israel feel like they have taken out all of Iran's ability to put up these drones and send these missiles. Yes, that bombardment will continue in Tehran and around the region.

00:14:05
Speaker 1: But one thing we have not seen for sure or since this all started, is the leader of Iran come out and give an address to the nation and address the Iranian people. No sign of the president, no sign of Hamone, who they say now is dead. No word on the president yet. But we have not seen a leader come out, So that is telling given all that's going on.

00:14:29
Speaker 2: Yes, indeed, and they mentioned not even on social media, so you know, people there in Iran and in Tehran are looking to see what are we getting from the government, what are we hearing from the government, And the answer is nothing.

00:14:41
Speaker 3: And so that certainly was adding to the fueled rumors that.

00:14:45
Speaker 2: Hamone, Hamone and many of the leaders were already gone, already dead.

00:14:50
Speaker 1: Okay, and you say they have And again, I want to give a New York Times credit. We've been following some of their some of their reporting live updates all day, but they have just posted robes you talk about, we haven't even heard from him on social media. That is the exact thing they just put up here is that Haminae's official account on x posted a photo and the way the New York Times reporter here is putting it that seems to suggest that the leader is dead. It's an image of him with a you see this now with the clerical figure with a sword on fire and includes a battle cry and at least being interpreted as a suggestion that he has passed. So that is the very related this story literally has it changes every minute, and that's been the case all day, folks. But yeah, we just wanted to hump on and give you that update. You can always top right corner of your Apple podcast tap where you see our show page, there's a little button there that says follow go ahead and click that you can subscribe and get the updates. And as we say, robes, there have been a plenty these days with that folks who always appreciate you spending some time with us. On TJ. Holmes on behalf of my dear Amy roboc. We will talk to you soon.

00:16:01
Speaker 2: The pated, thecation, the detent,
