Singer P!nk Finds Out via Tabloid That Her Marriage is Ending (But It's Not)
People magazine put up a story late Thursday claiming an exclusive source confirmed P!nk and her husband, Carey Hart, separated for a second time. Within hours, Pink took back the narrative, going on social media to call out the magazine and other outlets that repeated the headline, saying it was news to her.

Speaker 1: Hey, there are folks. It is Friday, February twenty seventh, and we are starting this day in a much better move than we thought we would because we literally sank in our seats upon reading the headline yesterday that Pink and her husband, Carrie of twenty years were splitting up. But elation now after hearing from Pink herself telling us that that is absolutely not true, and with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ Robes. People have to make announcements when they are breaking up. Now you have to make an announcement to sday. You're not breaking up?
00:00:47
Speaker 2: Is that what we That's the state of things right now, and I have to say it is amazing.
00:00:52
Speaker 3: We were devastated rops last night when we saw that headline. You said, Babe, oh my god, I feel sick, and I said what.
00:01:03
Speaker 2: And that's when you told me the news that Pink and her husband had separated, and we just felt and you even said, I don't know why this is bothering me so much, but this is really affecting me because we were all rooting for them. They were they're a couple that obviously are in the spotlight. They're both cool as hell, and they fought like hell to stay together, and they've been really open and honest about it. Pink writes songs about it, you know, and so just we're all along with them, and so like you feel like you're a part of it, and then you feel.
00:01:34
Speaker 1: Rus were rooting for them. We are always and when we see celebrity couples and you got ten years under your belt, twenty years under your belt and story after just over the years, they've been through hell, They've been through all kinds of individually and together, and they have two kids and are happy and are doing their thing. These are two you are absolutely robes. It can be done. To hear that they were coming on was a knock against like.
00:02:03
Speaker 3: Nobody has a shot.
00:02:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what it was.
00:02:05
Speaker 3: That's kind of what it feels.
00:02:06
Speaker 1: That's kind of what it was. So again, the headline came initially right from People magazine. Yes, and this is what happens. Everybody else starts picking up on Yes.
00:02:17
Speaker 2: So it says Pink separates from Carrie Hart for second time after twenty years of marriage Colon Source Exclusive.
00:02:25
Speaker 1: Okay, so let's be straight about how we got the news. I'm not even sure I saw the People magazine headline. I saw it pop up somewhere else, and I just I didn't click on it. I saw it. I said it to you, and we just said that sucks.
00:02:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, and we went out to dinner. Yes, we didn't look at it again. We never go out to dinner. We went out to dinner, We came back home, went to bed, woke up early. And then the first thing you said to me, guess what, it's not true. Pink and Carrie aren't breaking up.
00:02:57
Speaker 1: Like genuinely excited and changed my mood food this morning to hear that. But it's just the fact, Grobes, that she had to do it at all, that she had to come out, and she put out a video now in which she says it's not true, and Robes she the tone. Does she seem a little annoyed?
00:03:16
Speaker 2: Yes, But I think she nailed the tone and the content, because look, we understand what it's like to have fake headlines written about you.
00:03:26
Speaker 3: And then I'm sure her inbox, both she and Carrie's in bex.
00:03:30
Speaker 2: Got flooded text from people and she had to tell the people she knows and loves it's not true. It's not And then finally just said, you know what, I'm going on Instagram and putting this to bed right now.
00:03:40
Speaker 3: And she just was her.
00:03:42
Speaker 2: She was opening the refrigerator, walking through her kitchen, basically telling everybody that it's all bs.
00:03:49
Speaker 3: And I liked her tone. It was a little sarcast it was cheeky. Yeah that's the Cheeky is a good way to put it. And yeah, and it just seemed genuinely her. And yeah, she was annoyed. I would be too. We have been multiple times.
00:04:05
Speaker 1: I have to come on and announce that I'm not getting a divorce. She shouldn't be put into that position. And but she did the right thing, and she taught us all the lesson. I wish she'd taught you and I this lesson much sooner.
00:04:20
Speaker 2: Man.
00:04:21
Speaker 1: But you don't let it ride if someone is saying something about you about your relationship that's not true, you cut it off immediately and you stop it. And you don't give everybody an opportunity to fill in blanks robes in that respect. I mean, what was it a matter of hours even that she responded to this.
00:04:37
Speaker 2: And I have we'll get into it in a bit, but even the headlines that are still up right now, as you all are waking up, are still clickbait, and frankly, some of them.
00:04:47
Speaker 3: Are outrageous and disgusting.
00:04:49
Speaker 2: So even with her jumping on quickly, there are still residual headlines out there, all.
00:04:54
Speaker 1: Right, So we're gonna give it a shot. Here, gonna play for you. This is pink. We'll get the time on this. When she put having to respond to a headline that said that her marriage was ending here, she is Hi, everybody, hope.
00:05:09
Speaker 4: So that's my refrigerator open on my way to a bier.
00:05:13
Speaker 3: So I was just alerted to the.
00:05:15
Speaker 4: Fact that I'm separated from my husband.
00:05:18
Speaker 1: I didn't know.
00:05:19
Speaker 4: Thank you People Magazine, Thank yous Weekly, Thank you for letting me know.
00:05:24
Speaker 1: I was wondering. Would you also like to.
00:05:26
Speaker 4: Tell our children my fourteen year old and nine year old are also unaware? Or do you want to talk about some real news. Do you want to talk about the Epstein files. Do you want to talk about systemic racism or misogyny in sports, or how classy the women's hockey team is, or how eight of the twelve medals won in the Olympics this year for the US were one by women, Or do you maybe want to talk about the fact that I got nominated the first year I was eligible for the Rock and Roll motherfucking Hall of Fame. Do you want to talk about my accomplishments or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise?
00:06:00
Speaker 1: So fake news not true fucking hate that term. I love you all.
00:06:06
Speaker 4: Go with God and trash news.
00:06:11
Speaker 1: You can do better, you know, like good good for her.
00:06:16
Speaker 3: I like trash news better than fake news.
00:06:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, she didn't hate that term because we know where it came from and it kind of calling on. But bro, she made as plain as day. I don't think she planned that out. She didn't write that out. You could see her in the video even she's kind of looking up looking for her words, like and so she just did off the cop and ended it.
00:06:32
Speaker 2: And it was it was genuine, It was from her and it was appreciated.
00:06:37
Speaker 3: Now here's the deal.
00:06:38
Speaker 2: After Pink puts that up, people magazine just amends their byline.
00:06:45
Speaker 3: They keep their headline right now, their headline.
00:06:48
Speaker 2: Is still up and that is BS. So they have their big old headline. Pink separates from Carrie Hart for second time after twenty years of marriage. Source Exclusive. Then right underneath it in small smaller print, it says. The Grammy winner then posted a video on Instagram refuting the separation and calling it fake news. But it's in smaller print, and it's below the headline, and when you go online, you click on that headline that says they are over.
00:07:17
Speaker 1: So you're saying they're standing by their source.
00:07:20
Speaker 2: I'm saying that maybe that is part of their reasoning, but they also know that their original headline is what's going to get people to click.
00:07:29
Speaker 1: Okay, but if there, how are you standing by a source. Isn't she a better source?
00:07:36
Speaker 3: Yes, I mean I would think she's the source.
00:07:39
Speaker 1: Unless this source is her husband. How can this be a better source? I'm saying it to your and look, we have some personal experience and feelings about these types of headlines and these types of things roads, but this is simple. It's okay to take. But you have to take that down someone you are actually putting out now a headline that you know to be unless you're going to come out and fight and say nope, we are standing by it. And Pink is lying to all of you all out there, and we are correct about her marriage.
00:08:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, they have not said that now.
00:08:12
Speaker 2: They did say initially and they still have it in the article that Pink's representatives declined to comment and hearts did not respond.
00:08:20
Speaker 1: They don't need to, She's exactly she doesn't need a pr.
00:08:25
Speaker 2: And yeah, and by the way, that is the biggest BS way the journalists try to get around reporting something that they don't have corroboration on. And the reality is a lot of folks who are being reported on and now we have been in this situation.
00:08:38
Speaker 3: It happens.
00:08:39
Speaker 2: I feel like it still happens weekly, maybe monthly, but we don't.
00:08:43
Speaker 3: Respond either when things aren't true.
00:08:46
Speaker 2: I'm not going to give them a comment so that they can write a legitimate article with my response or with your response. That's a very common thing for folks who are being written about to not respond because you don't want to fuel these types of stories by giving them your time and your comment.
00:09:04
Speaker 3: That's just true. So if you ever see someone didn't comment, it doesn't.
00:09:09
Speaker 2: Mean that the story's true, but they try to insinuate that it is by not commenting.
00:09:16
Speaker 1: It's not fair. And that headline again, maybe it's early, it's very early this morning. They haven't gotten on top of it today. No, they updated it. They saw our thing that just seeing it's people you look at that site more than I do. Yes, But I mean, is this really their thing? I don't know a lot of tabloids, and they're not in the same category as a lot of tabloids. But this is this one's a little I don't know. Maybe they'll correct, Maybe they I don't know. I haven't heard their reasoning, but this seems.
00:09:42
Speaker 2: Yes, this one is a little shocking coming from People Magazine. Look, every outlet gets things wrong. Every outlet has to, you know, from the New York Times on down, So this isn't something that doesn't happen. But it is a little surprising that they're employing this tactic by keeping this headlin That's what bothers me. I look, I get that people get it wrong, but make it right. Don't keep up the wrong headline unless to your point, they believe that they are right.
00:10:12
Speaker 1: Then that means they're saying, we know more about Pink's marriage than Pink does. How can you do that, Robes, I'm supposed to look at Pink's video and say, Nope, she's lying. I'm going with what People Magazine is saying. Can we of course not? And I think maybe they'll correct this once they get up and realize they have to correct this, and hopefully they will. But they've been together, what twenty years now, twenty two kids, They've been through their struggles. I believe they've had some marriage struggles.
00:10:40
Speaker 2: So yes, So Pink is forty six, her husband, Carrie Hart is fifty. They met at the Summer X Games in two thousand and one. Didn't know that he proposed four years later. They got married in Costa Rica in two thousand and six. Two years later they separated and it was very public in two thousand and eight, but a year later they announced they reconcile uh and soon had children, fourteen year old Willow Sage now nine year old Jamison Moon. And yes, I looked at both of their instagrams and look, some of the people have pointed out there is even a headline this morning that says when did Pink and Carrie Hart last post on social media together?
00:11:18
Speaker 3: So look, that is part of what speculation is.
00:11:20
Speaker 2: People are actually trolling folks Instagram and if you don't post together, if you don't show a picture together somewhere on vacation, or just all of a sudden, rumors of divorce start to percolate. I'm posting immediately, and yet we haven't had one together.
00:11:37
Speaker 3: I post.
00:11:38
Speaker 2: You know what, Sometimes I post a selfie of you and me, and you're always hiding because you don't like selfies. And I have seen people say he doesn't want to be there, he doesn't.
00:11:47
Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sorry today, I'm sorry we're doing this today. That does an amazing post today.
00:11:53
Speaker 3: That does happen now.
00:11:55
Speaker 2: It is look People magazine. We can get into this when we get back. But there are so many headlines up there right now, and people even posting articles and some of the I actually appreciate the frankness, the vulnerability with which Pink has talked about her marriage in the past, so people are using her own words against her about how tough it is to be in a long term relationship.
00:12:20
Speaker 1: Yes, it is tough. It's difficult, especially in the spotlight, especially when you got kids. Deray. Yes, it's all difficult. That's the point. But when we see somebody have difficulty, we automatically go to demise. When I see a perfect couple, I ask questions. When I see one struggling, I'm routin Oh hell yeah, I feel them. They got a chance, come man, all right, but stay here. We are going to give you some of our history with Pink, including the last fight we remember her publicly getting into with her husband. We'll explain. Stay here, all right. We continue here with the wonderful news. This morning. We needed some good news. Pink and our husband carry Hart are not breaking up, despite the headlines that continue to be out there in some tabloid circles started being reported and getting around yesterday Robes that they were splitting up after twenty years of marriage. She has come out and put out a social media post, a video and saying that's news to me, news to my kids. You got it completely wrong, Robes. We talking were looking at the video this morning. It's bizarre. But the last interview I did before we left Jima was with Pink in California. It was at Jesus. It was at Jimmy Kimmel's studio. Oh wow, I forgot that little detail.
00:13:49
Speaker 3: That's funny.
00:13:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, it was in November of twenty twenty two, one week before I believed all held broke loose for us.
00:13:57
Speaker 1: Week and a half rose before. Now, she didn't know at the time, nobody knew at the time, but we absolutely were dating. You and I were dating at that point, but were not publicly dating. Both of us had been out of our respective marriages since that summer and living in other places correct all it. But we were in that point and I remember being back in the bag waiting on her, and you and I were sharing messages about Trustfall. That was the album she was promoting at the time. Uh, never Gonna Not Dance Again. That song and that video were everywhere at the time.
00:14:31
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Pink was such a through line of that part of our lives when we were you know, when you just start dating, and I mean, look, we had butterflies and some music and it was just all a part of the fabric of our early relationship and Pink was a.
00:14:47
Speaker 3: Part of it.
00:14:48
Speaker 1: But you were essentially there with me for that interview because I was. There was a lot of waiting around and whatnot, and I was back there messaging you, keeping you updated about what was going on. But right around that time, it was the day or so before. It was funny, but she was hot about it. What do you think about people in relationships who when they do the dishes, they'll take a pan and they'll put some dishwashing liquid in it. Put some hot water soaking. Oh wow, you already got to know it.
00:15:20
Speaker 2: That is such an excuse to not finish the damn job. If you're gonna soak it, soak it for sixty seconds with some hot water, and then go get you a rubber.
00:15:32
Speaker 3: It'll be fine.
00:15:32
Speaker 1: Some things are a tougher job. It takes more than ten minutes of soaking. True.
00:15:40
Speaker 2: I don't think anything soaks more than ten minutes at that point.
00:15:42
Speaker 3: Now you've already got the hot water in it. It's gonna go get a little scrubber. It'll be fine.
00:15:47
Speaker 1: Some things, would you not agree are an overnight job?
00:15:50
Speaker 2: No?
00:15:50
Speaker 1: Never, Okay, okay, I've bring this up. It's so funny you immediately got this hot. She was hot, yes, because she had put out a kind of a viral post in which she was taking Carrie to task for leaving a pan in the sink and she refused to wash it.
00:16:09
Speaker 3: I understand that some hills you have to die on.
00:16:12
Speaker 1: I think it went for days, and she called him out, and she kept showing it, and she was hot, and I brought it up at some point. I don't even know if it was on camera. I shouldn't have. I thought it was going to be a playful thing. She cuts his anger down. She was still like, hey, but I said it wasn't malicious. We don't do it intentionally, is what I'm saying. Yes, it was not. We're not leaving it there so you all can.
00:16:33
Speaker 2: Do it later, okay, although you don't really do that.
00:16:39
Speaker 1: I don't do it at all because I can't stand sink.
00:16:42
Speaker 2: We get along really well when it comes to cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.
00:16:47
Speaker 1: Is this the equivalent of a woman leaving the trash at the door?
00:16:52
Speaker 3: Well?
00:16:52
Speaker 2: See, and my argument to you on that one is that I put it by the door because the next time I go out, I'm gonna bring it to the trash room.
00:17:01
Speaker 1: Well how about when the bag is just tied up, but it's still in the bind. Why didn't you take it out? You waive for somebody else to do it.
00:17:07
Speaker 3: That particular time.
00:17:08
Speaker 2: I was doing it because we were about to leave for a flight, and I don't like to leave trash obviously in the apartment, so I was making sure every last.
00:17:15
Speaker 3: Bit of trash I can put in before I took it out. At the very end, I was not.
00:17:19
Speaker 1: Leaving it for you see, see this is lie. This was the fight she had with her husband publicly, and if that is the extent of the fights, then they must be doing okay. Look, I applaud her for coming out and saying something. I can relieve that she came out and said something. We will see how this story develops, but it does. It's another example, folks, you can't believe everything you read, and you got to look a little further when you see somebody saying a source or a friend or a an inside her is the one that close to the couples, and I can't stand that it turns out to be just completely untrue. We'll see how that it keeps going. I don't know what else we could get from it today, though.
00:18:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean look, I actually wanted to leave with something really cool that Pink told, actually, of all people, People magazine a few years ago about her relationship with Carrie Hart, and I just think this is cool for all of us to hear. I love how transparent she is. Long term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and then jump from relationship to relationship because you don't have to fix the problems that keep recurring. You have to end up fixing yourself. You can't fix the other person, so it can be challenging. There are good days, there are bad days. I think it's an impossible expectation for you to think that you're going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what's important. I don't want to break up my family. That's been my main goal since I had a broken family.
00:18:49
Speaker 3: Sometimes you have to let it go. You can't die on every mountain.
00:18:54
Speaker 1: Sounds like an adult.
00:18:55
Speaker 3: I love it. Actually brought tears to my eyes because that's you know, you know that that's Pink and she's.
00:19:00
Speaker 2: Been so outspoken about it and fighting for her marriage. So to hear that, yeah, she's still doing that despite the headlines love it and love Pink.
00:19:09
Speaker 1: What overleaf? All right, folks, we always appreciate you spend some time here with us. For my dear Amy Robuck, I am TJ. Holmes about to go get all the dishes out to sing. We'll talk to you
Speaker 1: Hey, there are folks.
