Parents In First Class, Kids In Coach. What’s SO Wrong With That?
Jessica Simpson defended herself this week after ex-husband, Nick Lachey revealed he and his family shared a six and half hour flight with Simpson in first class, while her family sat back in coach. Simpson explained her mom paid for the flight as a gift, and that if she had purchased the tickets, her kids would’ve been sitting with her. Which brings us to our latest work trip this weekend to Bottlerock, where we screwed up the tickets and ended up with a middle seat back in coach. T.J. insisted his daughter sit up front, while he took one for the team. How does it work in your family?

Speaker 1: Hey, that folks at a Saturday May twenty third, and what's the big damn deal? A parent can ride in first class and stick their kid in coach, But when you're Jessica Simpson, well, the criticism comes comes swiftly, and it comes pretty intensely with that. Welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ. What is the big damn deal?
00:00:26
Speaker 2: Robes? What's the big deal?
00:00:28
Speaker 3: I don't think it's a big deal at all, because I will be very honest here right now. I have one hundred percent done that before, and people may disagree with it. But it was funny when the news first came out the Jessica Simpson was sitting in first class and her kids were sitting in coach. My youngest daughter, Annelie said, Mom, you did that all the time with us, and I said, sure did.
00:00:50
Speaker 1: Okay, So if we just start there before we get into all how it came about, just hearing it on the surface, does it matter when the parent has, in this case, not even a perceived, but a documented amount of money in her account she is listed as a billionaire?
00:01:08
Speaker 2: She not, Yes, okay, so does that matter?
00:01:11
Speaker 4: I respect it even more?
00:01:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, because you know what she could obviously she can afford to fly her kids in first class. She can probably afford to fly her kids on private. But look when sir, she has mentioned and has talked a lot about her humble beginnings, and I think for many of us who grew up very similarly, we want We can't obviously give our children that hunger or that that base of knowledge that we had of what it's like to struggle, of what it's like to not be able to even afford to fly period, let alone fly in first class. And I do think that she, along with many other celebrities, have talked about trying to not spoil their kids and not have their kids believe that they just should expect to always fly first class, that her money is their money. I used to say to my kids, I eron this money.
00:02:03
Speaker 2: You didn't.
00:02:04
Speaker 3: You can earn your money and do whatever you like with it. But at a certain point, I think you have to respect a parent trying to give their kids perspective, and that very well may be what happened. She gave another reasoning when she was questioned about it, but I respect that in general.
00:02:20
Speaker 1: She doesn't have to give any reason, in my opinion, But let's talk about why this all got stirred up is because her ex, her ex of all things, made a comment enrolled. I will give nickolasche a credit. There was nothing in his answer that in any way impugned her, her haputation, her as a mother, or anything else. He was just honestly answering the.
00:02:38
Speaker 4: Question he was actually trying to avoid.
00:02:40
Speaker 3: He was he was trying to avoid acknowledging that Jessica Simpson and her mom were in first class and her He actually kind of joked, I don't know how to explain where she is with her husband right now, but I think estranged might be there in the middle of a divorce.
00:02:54
Speaker 1: Okay, and let's look to the folks who are uninitiated. These two were a really, really, really hot item and one of the hottest couples in so not Hollywood, but all of the music but celebrity couples we had around.
00:03:07
Speaker 4: Now.
00:03:07
Speaker 2: How long were they to get I can't remember.
00:03:09
Speaker 3: Nick Lache and Jessica Simpson were married for four years. They were married from two thousand and two to two thousand and six. They had a reality show together. And I didn't realize this as he was telling Andy Cohen they had not seen each other in twenty years though.
00:03:23
Speaker 2: That was wild.
00:03:23
Speaker 1: They didn't have kids together, show, there was no reason to hang out, no reason to chat it up and check on you see you at the same party.
00:03:30
Speaker 2: That's I didn't realize.
00:03:31
Speaker 3: Kind of like a starter marriage, right, So no harm, no foul, But they had no reason to have any kind of communication or connection over those twenty years and so, but they also.
00:03:41
Speaker 1: Please remind me if I'm wrong. Have they had any kind of public back and forth anything. I don't remember them having necessarily some big falling out.
00:03:48
Speaker 3: Oh this long, it's a twenty and look, obviously, everyone I think knows pretty much, especially if you like any kind of reality show that Nick and his wife Vanessa Lache are.
00:03:58
Speaker 4: They do all sorts.
00:03:59
Speaker 3: Of lay shows and dating shows and relationship shows. Love is Blind is their big one. But he was there in first class with his wife and their three kids, and they were all flying to Hawaii and he was on Andy Cohen's show, and Andy.
00:04:15
Speaker 4: He's like, oh my god, what was it like?
00:04:16
Speaker 3: And he just said it was awkward, but it was okay, you know, And he said it was Jessica and her mom, and so Andy was asking questions. He said, well, did she have her family? And he said yes, and he's like, wait, so were your family and her family.
00:04:28
Speaker 4: All seated together? And he was like, well, just again, her mom were seated with us.
00:04:34
Speaker 3: And Andy Cohen kind of pushed and prompted like, so are you saying that Jessica's kids and her estranged husband were in a different class of service, and yeah, Nick Lachey kind of sheepishly said yeah, I guess yes, and kind of giggled and laughed.
00:04:50
Speaker 1: He had no interest in this conversation, So that needs to be made clear. This wasn't whatever criticism she's getting didn't come because her ex decided he was criticizing it.
00:04:59
Speaker 4: No, he didn't want anything, no, and he didn't want to point it out.
00:05:02
Speaker 3: It just when he was trying to explain the situation, and I get why, Anddy Cohen would even ask like, oh my god, were your kids and her kids all together? I mean, it is an awkward situation that you wouldn't expect. And that's close quarters for six and a half hours on a flight to Hawaii.
00:05:16
Speaker 1: So that's your scene. Nick lache and his wife and their three kids are sitting in a first class cabin with his ex wife Jessica Simpson and his ex mother in law. There's your scenario exactly, all.
00:05:29
Speaker 4: Right, film.
00:05:30
Speaker 3: So yeah, so then people started asking questions or raising eyebrows. I guess because some people don't think it's correct, or they might pass judgment on somebody who has that much money who wouldn't then bring her children up And people, I don't know, what's the criticism.
00:05:46
Speaker 4: That she's being cheap, that she's being.
00:05:50
Speaker 3: Just disrespectful to her family by putting herself up in first class and putting them back in coach.
00:05:57
Speaker 4: I guess that's the criticism.
00:05:58
Speaker 3: But her former husband or her a strange husband was there back in the seats with the kids, so they weren't alone. But these kids are older too, they're fourteen, twelve, and seven. And like I said, plenty of people I'm sure have seen me on a flight and my kids were in coach because guess what, sometimes I'm flying too. Sometimes we were flying five kids. That is expensive. But I also do believe that there are moments where it's okay the kids should don't get to have the same experience as the adults.
00:06:28
Speaker 4: I'm just somebody who believes that, all.
00:06:30
Speaker 1: Right, So, but this scenario everything you describe robes Jessica Simpson and her mom sitting in first class, the kids, and the estranged husband sitting in coach. Now you were the one the first part. I had issue, like why are they traveling together in the first place, But you explained that this is what they do.
00:06:48
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think that's actually really cool. She and Eric Johnson they were together, I believe for ten years. And again kids, Maxwell's fourteen, Aces twelve, and Birdie is seven.
00:06:59
Speaker 4: What a cute named Bertie.
00:07:00
Speaker 3: I love that.
00:07:01
Speaker 4: It's really cute.
00:07:02
Speaker 3: But they were all They traveled together, they vacation together, they talked about spending thanks Giving together. So they co parent in a seemingly very loving way, which is pretty damn cool. Having been divorced before, I think it's pretty freaking remarkable.
00:07:18
Speaker 1: Actually, So I took issue initially with a story when you told me she had to respond, or she had to answer questions, or she felt she had to defend, like defend what I am very hesitant any time someone wants to question somebody else's parenting. No matter what I think about it, People parent differently. They have make different choices, they're in different environments, they have different circumstances. I just that is one thing we shouldn't do, is just criticize people's parents.
00:07:44
Speaker 4: Absolutely, so I.
00:07:46
Speaker 1: That was my initial I'd take issue with that, but that she felt when I saw she was responding, or she felt she need to defend herself. It wasn't necessarily I thought she had put out a statement. No, she was actually chased down by hel Photography.
00:07:58
Speaker 3: And we know LAX isorius like you, yes, it with LAX. When they were getting back, of course photographers waiting for her, and look they get it's funny. We learned this the hard way. But there it's so crazy how it works, especially at LAX. There are airline employees who get little kickbacks. They call up whatever tabloid they say, so and so is landing on this plane, and the cameras and the microphones are rolling and ready for the celebrities to step off the plane. So they were waiting for Jessica Simpson. And yeah, they started throwing this controversy out because Nick Lachet had just talked about it on Andy Cohen's show.
00:08:35
Speaker 1: Okay, so again her response now robes and you'll have to tell me what we'll talk about the response. But then how people are taking that response and I'm not really sure what to make of this, but she is walking through and some photographers asking her constantly, Okay, what's the deal. So you sit in the first class and your kids sitting coach and ropes She kind of and it makes sense. She put it off on her mom to a certain degree. Please explain this.
00:09:00
Speaker 4: Oh, she absolutely did.
00:09:02
Speaker 3: She when they said, hey, why were you in first class and your kids were in coach, and she just said, my mom bought those tickets. It was my mom's treat for us to go to Hawaii. So she's saying her mom paid for it, and her mom couldn't afford I mean, that was the inference that her mom didn't want to spend or couldn't afford to spend first class tickets for the everybody. So she put her in Jessica up in first class and the kids and Eric in coach.
00:09:27
Speaker 2: Did she paid for the ex the excess ticket?
00:09:30
Speaker 4: That's she said, my mom bought those tickets.
00:09:32
Speaker 1: Okay, and fine, that is perfectly fine. This is a special woman. So the ex husband, she bought tickets with the ex husband her three grandkids. Is that correct?
00:09:44
Speaker 4: And for her and for Jessica is all go.
00:09:46
Speaker 1: To Hawaiian which is sweet and which is fine. Now robes taken given that, does that make a little more sense to where Well, if it was a mom's treat, of course, if she could put one person in first class, obviously it's going.
00:09:58
Speaker 2: To be the daughter.
00:09:59
Speaker 1: Uh yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, absolutely, does it also make sense. I don't know what the mom's financial situation is. I am just guessing is not as good as her daughter's with just the idea of her buying or treating the daughter in such a mad this is a very expensive trip. Oh yes, so, but it might be one of those things she was it was important to her to do a treat.
00:10:19
Speaker 2: I don't know what it was for, but that all still read.
00:10:22
Speaker 3: Guess what, that's their family dynamic. It works for them. It's this is one of the you know, the difficult parts of being in the spotlight is that, yes, everything you do is scrutinized. And look, she didn't even have to offer any explanation, and she was trying to keep moving. And then so the reporter yelled back at her, you know what if you had bought the tickets, and she said, of course, like.
00:10:43
Speaker 4: Would your kids be with you if you bought the tickets.
00:10:46
Speaker 3: And her answer was of course so, but you could tell she was irritated, and I understand why she was irritated.
00:10:53
Speaker 1: I just I don't wrote there is nothing at all. And you've seen some of the comments. Please give me a better idea of what people are saying, because people can be awful. People can be harsh, no doubt, but if we have to, Yes, this is social media, so we take it with a grain of salt. But just how harsh are people being about I.
00:11:14
Speaker 3: Think not very actually, And some people are taking issue with nick Lache that he even made that point. They're like, you know, so people are kind of attacking him now for even bringing it up.
00:11:22
Speaker 2: He didn't I.
00:11:24
Speaker 3: Agree, So I don't think here's the deal. People don't actually watch clips. They just see a headline and then they make comments. So some people are taking shots at nick Lache. Some people are, you know what, I like this one, and you honestly, I wish Ava and Anna were here. They would kind of they knew the deal that, especially on a long or an expensive flight, I was not going to pay for everyone to be in first class, So they actually liked it and someone wrote, kids probably were happy to be away from mom and have some freedom, even if it's just on a plane.
00:11:53
Speaker 4: My girls didn't even want to sit next to each other.
00:11:55
Speaker 3: Sometimes when like it obviously it's at a certain age when it's okay when they're in there, like you know, i'd say from twelve on up.
00:12:01
Speaker 4: But they didn't even want to sit together. They liked feeling adult.
00:12:05
Speaker 3: They liked, you know, getting the window seat and feeling like they were flying on a plane by themselves, like there was no harm, no foul. They weren't gonna actually even partake. They don't need extra leg room when they're that small. They're not drinking alcoholic beverages, and they don't even appreciate whatever elevated food you're getting. They'd rather bring something on from Shakeshack onto the plane. So I actually think it makes a lot of sense. Kids sometimes they don't even care.
00:12:29
Speaker 1: All right, well, stay here though, because this is a scenario, This is a situation that has come up with Robes and I over the years as we're together, but also even before we were together. It come up a lot as much flying as we do what to do with the kids stay here. We'll tell you what our general rules are and will tell you how we just went through this scenario. Because as we are recording this, we are sitting in a hotel room in California. Me, Robes, and Sabine all flew here together from New York, two of us. We're in first class, yes, which one was not?
00:13:17
Speaker 2: All right?
00:13:18
Speaker 1: We can do you here on Amy and DJ on this set. You've been a little goofy doing the commercial breaks out here. You're having a good time again, I am.
00:13:23
Speaker 4: And you want.
00:13:24
Speaker 3: I'm laughing because I actually I was just reading through all of these Reddit posts of folks weighing in on this, and it's honestly, babe, I'm surprised it is overwhelmingly bashing nick.
00:13:35
Speaker 4: Lache, him bashing. If you didn't have to bring it up, he did it on purpose.
00:13:40
Speaker 2: Oh my god.
00:13:41
Speaker 3: They're they're they're like, yes, it was subtle, but he absolutely made sure that he gave that little in where he told everyone that she sat in a different class. And people are saying, lol, I do this too, do what sitting in a different class than my kids? Some people said, I feel like this is good parenting. Her kids are old enough to sit away from her and understand that she worked hard for her money and deserves to sit in first class.
00:14:04
Speaker 4: So I acted.
00:14:06
Speaker 3: People are actually applauding it, which is kind of cool. I didn't realize. So it's funny. All the headlines talk about her addressing criticism, but if you actually start looking at comments, most people are throwing shade at.
00:14:16
Speaker 1: Nick Lachet, Okay, not at her, correct for what. I don't know what criticism there could be in this regard. Now, I encourage people to look at the clip. I hate when things get going like this and something being is being assigned to him that isn't really true. We have looked at the clip, we have read, we have listened to that clip several times. He was asked a question. He almost seems surprised that he was asked the question, but he was asked, and then he just answered, yep, she's over there, and we were hearing. Actually it was fine. I hadn't seen her in twenty years. But and then the follow ups came about the kid. He didn't just throw it out there, about the kids and the family and everything.
00:14:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm telling you, people are not giving him a break on this. They're saying that he didn't have to even give an interview about the ex wife. He didn't even have to talk about it. He didn't even have to say anything.
00:15:02
Speaker 1: So he when he was asked, I understand, you just ran into your ex wife on a plane. No comment is what he should have done?
00:15:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't.
00:15:10
Speaker 3: Well, obviously he gave the story to you know, you you have a little pre interview and like, oh, I have a little fun thing everybody want and I get that everybody.
00:15:17
Speaker 4: It's fine, it's fun.
00:15:18
Speaker 3: I don't think he did anything wrong, but people always have to weigh in.
00:15:22
Speaker 1: It is not bashing her by pointing out that a mother with money put her kids in coach. It's just not bashable to just say that that's what happened. So the general rule over the years for you has been, you got two daughters. Now you know, we'll stick with us right now. Our rule now when we fly with all the girls, which we have done, I guess a bunch. I guess you and I have taken trips with just one of the girls. Well, we try with Sabine all time. Three, Well we have all.
00:15:57
Speaker 3: Three, and sometimes it's two, sometimes it's one. We have different region.
00:16:01
Speaker 2: True with Ava, I kind of remember that one.
00:16:04
Speaker 3: I believe we paid first class for that. Now here's the deal. This is my personal opinion. And I don't even know if you and I have discussed it, and we might have different opinions. But for me, it's money. Like if it's not that big of a jump, and I think that it's a long flight, I have gone ahead and made the decision. And if it's just one, like if I'm traveling with one of my daughters, I'm going to put them with me, yes, But if I've got multiple kids and we're talking about thousands and thousands of dollars, yeah, and I don't have to explain it, and my kids don't expect it.
00:16:33
Speaker 4: In fact, I won't even tell them.
00:16:35
Speaker 3: We won't even tell the kids if we've decided to put them in first class because we don't want the I don't want the expectation to be there, and I none of our kids do. And they're always like assuming My kids assume they're in coach. If at the last minute they see they're in first class, they literally jump up and down. They're so excited.
00:16:51
Speaker 1: That has been my My general rule is if I'm flying one, if I'm traveling one on one with sabine, which is overwhelming the way I have done to try to just the two of us. She flies in whatever class I choose to fly, and so if I choose to vie in first class, which I usually do, and she's sitting next to me, I'm not gonna fly one on one right, just the two of us, and I'm sitting in first and she's in coach, I don't do.
00:17:15
Speaker 4: I would not do that yet.
00:17:17
Speaker 3: Well, I was gonna say, she's also thirteen now, and now would be the only time where I think you had even considered because they're too young, they need to be with men. Yeah, And I don't even think it's allowed. I don't think you're allowed to fly in a separate class of service with your kids if they're below a certain age, And that makes sense. You can't just put a ten year old and below back in coach while you're in first class. And I can't imagine most parents would ever consider that.
00:17:42
Speaker 2: So that's my the one.
00:17:43
Speaker 1: It's one if it's one on one, and she just has always flung with me, and she has been itny bitty sitting in first class and doesn't It's one of those things where you worried about spoiling your kid, but you then you appreciate that your kid later appreciates it, and it's not something that they expect. They know it's a privilege. And so we ran into this issue coming here robe the three of us flying six hour fly yes from JFK to San Francisco. We got the three of us early morning trip, long flight. I got work to do. So we had three seats, two and first class one in nineteen C.
00:18:22
Speaker 3: And you said, I'm going to take one for the team. I'm going to fly in nineteen C. And Annalise was there when she heard it, and she said, huh, you would have put me back in nineteen C.
00:18:31
Speaker 4: And I said, I absolutely would have. So you are.
00:18:34
Speaker 3: Kinder then I would have been. And my kids knew it. They were like, yeah, you would have put us back there. I was like, without a doubt. But there is a story to it.
00:18:43
Speaker 1: There was, And I don't even think we told Sabina Saevena is in the room here with us now and she's hearing it for the first for the first time that we decided to take this trip.
00:18:51
Speaker 2: We're here on NAPA for Bottle Rock.
00:18:53
Speaker 1: They call it what the Coachella of Naple Valley, but her big music festival out here, we'll be here for the weekend, invited her a long time ago. She was so excited to get it.
00:19:01
Speaker 3: And this is a work event, we should point out. So we didn't pay for our tickets. I heart did. So it wasn't as if we purchased these tickets. They did for us, and we were purchasing a companion ticket for Sabine.
00:19:11
Speaker 1: And Sabine gets this, our heart gets it. Sabine is always going to be in tow, they understand, and we pay for it. Everybody gets it. So we a month plus ago got Sabine's ticket, found it. But the way it was set up, she would have to fly and whatever economy plus thing was on the way out, and then first class on the way back. I remember the seat was like nine something against the windows.
00:19:34
Speaker 3: It was right behind, right behind me, and we're like, you know what, And it was a big difference in price.
00:19:38
Speaker 4: It was a huge, like thousands of dollars.
00:19:40
Speaker 3: And when I see that, when it's like literally a two thousand dollars difference, nah, you're sitting in coach.
00:19:45
Speaker 2: So that was the plan.
00:19:46
Speaker 1: Sabinia was going to fly and whatever comfort on the way there, and then she's going flying first on the way back with us.
00:19:52
Speaker 2: So how many days ago this is Saturday.
00:19:55
Speaker 3: As we were caday, we realized somehow, some way, I we don't know what happened if we have you ever done this before? I have one other time in my life. You've got all the tickets, you've got the seats. You think you press play a pay, but you don't. And somehow you think you've got the tickets, you think the seat has already been chosen and it's paid for. And you realized on Wednesday when you started looking in your email for the confirmation code for Sabine's tickets, that Sabine's ticket didn't exist. That we must have somehow, some way not pressed pay because we had this seat, we had the price, we had everything and something, and it just it was a fluke and it happened.
00:20:37
Speaker 1: So we get on the phone. I mean, the nicest guy in the world. He checked every flight on every airline, with every name, with every homes, everybody who had a name that started with S. He went everywhere trying to find a ticket and it wasn't there. So we're in a position now, Oh crap. We were lucky enough that we could at least find a seat, but we were buying a round trip ticket to California two days before the flight.
00:21:02
Speaker 4: On Memorial Day weekend.
00:21:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't a cheapy, No, it was not. It wasn't a cheapy So we had to now get a seat that was in coach. We did not have because the seats in the comfort I don't know what they called it on Jet Blue.
00:21:16
Speaker 2: But up there even more space middle seats.
00:21:19
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:21:19
Speaker 2: Didn't want to do that.
00:21:20
Speaker 1: So I buy the ticket, I don't tell Sabina what's going on, and I make the decision to take one for I say, for the team.
00:21:27
Speaker 2: But there was a promise, that was an expectation that.
00:21:30
Speaker 1: Was set for her that we told her about her ticket and her experience that because of my screw up and not hitting pay I didn't want to take from her. Now, a lot of parents you look at that and say, come on, dude, it's a big deal.
00:21:42
Speaker 2: Put her in coach. She's gonna be fine.
00:21:44
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:21:44
Speaker 2: Fine, But for me, it was a big deal, and so I end up in nineteen c.
00:21:49
Speaker 3: It was a very very sweet, gentleman gesture. You know, I had a question. I haven't asked you this, And I actually was thinking it if Sabine, if she were a he, would you have made.
00:22:00
Speaker 4: The same choice.
00:22:01
Speaker 2: Yes, okay, oh absolutely.
00:22:02
Speaker 4: I was just curious.
00:22:02
Speaker 3: I wonder if you were doing like a daddy daughter, like being a gentleman in any way, shape or form.
00:22:08
Speaker 1: I think there was a lesson there to be taught to a dude as well. You know, you stick next to what your word was, this is it was just for me. I wasn't going to take something back that I already given. That makes sense because certainly of my screw up. So man, I it's a jungle back there.
00:22:23
Speaker 2: It was. It was wild. I don't recommend it. It was.
00:22:26
Speaker 1: It was Adrian at Jet Blue. Give her credit a wonderful flight attendant on that flight. But I got the ropes. I was sending you messages. I wanted to read some of our back and more than our texts, me explained to you what was happening in the back.
00:22:38
Speaker 2: It was wild.
00:22:39
Speaker 3: It's funny because look, there are so many movies that have this little plot twist where half your group's in first class, the other halfs in coach and steerage whatever you want to call it, and like Bridesmaids is one that stands out to me. But there have been so many hilarious back and forth about the oh Seinfeld has a hilarious depiction of what it's like, you know, on the other side, and it's it's true.
00:23:00
Speaker 4: And I think my.
00:23:01
Speaker 3: Daughters have even said and that they have flown first class, but they're like, once you fly first class, it's just it makes the experience of coach so much use. I'm like, it is, but at least you get you've experienced it once in your life. Because yes, when you get to a certain age, they're flying Ryanair, you know, as cheap as it gets, like Southwest. They definitely flew spirit like this because once they get to a certain age, I'm a little bit of a stickler. I'm like, you're paying for your vacation. Figure it out. So they they have flown.
00:23:25
Speaker 4: The cheapest, crappiest seats.
00:23:28
Speaker 3: And so yes, if they do get to fly with us, and it is first it is a privilege, but.
00:23:32
Speaker 1: Robes, it's I for whatever reason, my head was in the right headspace to appreciate it. Goot, I had fun and I really did appreciate that flight attendant, and I really did appreciate the woman that was sitting next to me, who wasn't as annoying as she could have been, and that the two of them did not get up once to go to the bathroom. They didn't, so I was as just it's good robes. I appreciated so much, and I had fun, and you and Sabine up front having cocktails, and one of us was I came up to the visit that y'all like an hour into the flight. I'm like, what do you mean?
00:24:02
Speaker 2: Y'all have been served breakfast? All righty you had what?
00:24:06
Speaker 3: And then the next time you came up, I had my lie flat. I was sound asleep.
00:24:10
Speaker 2: Hyah.
00:24:10
Speaker 4: You're like, oh that looks nice. What's that like?
00:24:13
Speaker 2: So we had a pillow bigger than one we have at home. Y'all went up there having a great time.
00:24:17
Speaker 4: And by the way, so you were, you got an aisle seed.
00:24:20
Speaker 3: But on the way back you are flying little middle seed, baby middle seed.
00:24:26
Speaker 1: I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna try to get that changed. But it is what it is, and I appreciate, but I was just taking that anybody would criticize Jessica Simpson or any parent for how they choose but their kid and whatever class or service.
00:24:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was so interesting because as this little mini drama was playing out at our home. It's exactly when this drama was playing out between I don't even know if it's between Jessica Simpson and Nicolachet, but whatever controversy was being created online, it was funny because it was literally playing out in real life in our home.
00:24:58
Speaker 2: So we the opposite, right.
00:25:00
Speaker 3: I was like, we have to go on and talk about this because it's absolutely happening to us right now. And you know, you just made a different choice than I would have made, or that Jessica Sis, you would have Oh no, I absolute would.
00:25:10
Speaker 4: Have made my kids sit back there if it was your screw up.
00:25:12
Speaker 3: Absolutely Okay, Yeah, I mean that's just me and and I think it's wonderful that you made the choice you made. But you ask my girls right now, would mom have they? They would tell you right now, I'd be sitting in coach.
00:25:26
Speaker 1: And maybe then maybe I'm wrong a little on the maybe even with a boy given them the seat. But there is something that kicks in about your daughter and you don't want you little I wouldn't want her in some bad position.
00:25:41
Speaker 2: I can't see her. She's went back there. She's gonna have to put her bag up by her.
00:25:44
Speaker 4: You make a good point. You were way back there.
00:25:47
Speaker 3: When I put my kids in coach, they were literally one two rows behind me, and I could see them the whole time. And I really do think thirteen is the earliest I would ever.
00:25:56
Speaker 4: Put my kids.
00:25:57
Speaker 3: And my kids had each other too, so it's a little different. She's all by herself, that is different. Men. My kids are old enough there are grown as adults, so yeah, they had have been back there.
00:26:07
Speaker 4: Thirteen's different.
00:26:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, it all worked out, and I hope she appreciates it, I said, I hope she appreciates it. Wow, I know you all didn't hear that thank you because it was so damn faint. It should have been shouted from the mountaintop, I would argue, But hey, that's just me and with that, folks, we always appreciate you spending some time with us on half of my dear Amy Robot up.
00:26:28
Speaker 2: DJ Holmes will talk to y'll soon.
