It's now nearly two weeks since Nancy Guthrie was last seen, and authorities are now dealing with another note sent to a media outlet, but this note claims to be from someone who is NOT a kidnapper. Rather, the person claimed to know who the real kidnapper is, but in order to reveal it, they want Bitcoin first.

Speaker 3: From his eyes, to what he was wearing, the gun he was carrying, the backpack he had on his back. The hope is, yes, somewhere and those four thousand tips that came in in a twenty four hour period of time, that one of those tips will lead them to Nancy Guthrie.

Speaker 2: Of them, every single one and one of those is what led to a person being detained this week, and it's not out of the realm of possibility. We're going to see more detainments. We're going to get into all of this in just a moment, but I guess I have to start with the more Again. There have been twists and turns and bizarre happenings more so than huge revelations and moving the case for But we got another note, but this one apparently is not from a kidnapper demanding money, and it also wasn't sent to the family, and it wasn't sent to the police.

Now, according to TMZ, this note basically said they couldn't get in touch with They tried and failed to get in touch with Savannah or Cameron for what what reason they're claiming they weren't able to But yes, this note wants one bitcoin, which they said the bitcoin address provided is legit. But that's about sixty six thousand dollars now. And TMZ pointed this out because the money the demand is to say we know who the kidnapper is, we can give you or put you in the right direction and hand over the suspect.

This bitcoin address that's attached to this one, they say is not the same bitcoin address that's been attached to previous notes. So this is kind of coming from somewhere else, somebody else or Robes. I guess the FBI is probably looking into the possibility that all these notes are coming from the same person and using different techniques to try to get money. But if you were asking for millions in the other note, and all of a sudden you just want sixty six thousand in the other it doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 3: Now they have to take away valuable resources that they need to be tracking down real tips or perhaps the tip that they need to uncover, and instead they got to deal with this fool.

But Robes, we are probably going to see increased activity or new or different activity over the next several days, including some searches that are going on now because they're getting these tips and they're following up on all of them. And sure enough, I thought this was interesting at least. But they're focusing now on every pathway and roadway that can leave her house and go anywhere, is what they're doing now.

Unfortunately, for the police trying to figure out how she was taken somewhere in a vehicle from her home. They know the time, they know the day, but they cannot figure out where she was taken.

When I looked at Carlos who was detained, you can see where he has both of those features that that might have also contry beat it to them detaining him.

We haven't had a formal one in days, and he hasn't taken questions. He's kind of been updating and they put some stuff out on social media, but they're not talking to the press right now.

They keep things close to the best, and so yes, those press conferences us pesky reporters ask a lot of annoying questions, and he doesn't want to slip up and show his hand or give away too much information.

Of course, Okay, she is the centerpiece of that show. Your main host is gone off the show. You would think, Okay, that's gonna hurt viewership. This is different, obviously, because that show is the focus essentially of what is the biggest, most captivating crime story many of us have seen in our lives happening right now. So viewers have been going to that show. We knew they were going to probably see an increase in viewership. It's right now, obvious people are flooding to that show.

Speaker 3: Yes, you and I even talked about this, knowing that NBC and look, obviously, the number one most important thing to Savannah, to anyone at the Today Show and certainly to anyone covering it, is that Nancy Guthrie is found. But we both said we were pretty sure that the Today Show was going to get a huge spike in ratings because people want to see what happens and also just show their support. I think see how the other anchors who know and love Savannah feel about it. It just it feels like you're watching family in that sense, and you're all on the same page because you're all rooting for this eighty four year old woman to be found.

But twenty three percent is unheard of in this day and time of any type of viewership. It's unheard of and this day and time of morning show viewership, it just doesn't happen anymore. And yes it's happening now. It's to be expected it. There is no one over at NBC, I'm sure salivating and looking as going, ooh, this is awesome. We got a great No, not at all. But the viewers are certainly interested in this show. Excuse me, the story and robes they're going to the place that is the centerpiece of it. And it's a delicate balance. How do you as the Today Show cover that story as it's just a news story.

Look, some of these headlines are salacious, and some of the sources say stuff just isn't true and only for headlines and bait. Obviously, NBC News is going to be uber respectful about making sure any information they put out is helpful and true.

Of course, Okay, she is the centerpiece of that show. Your main host is gone off the show. You would think, Okay, that's gonna hurt viewership. This is different, obviously, because that show is the focus essentially of what is the biggest, most captivating crime story many of us have seen in our lives happening right now. So viewers have been going to that show. We knew they were going to probably see an increase in viewership. It's right now, obvious people are flooding to that show.

Speaker 3: Yes, you and I even talked about this, knowing that NBC and look, obviously, the number one most important thing to Savannah, to anyone at the Today Show and certainly to anyone covering it, is that Nancy Guthrie is found. But we both said we were pretty sure that the Today Show was going to get a huge spike in ratings because people want to see what happens and also just show their support. I think see how the other anchors who know and love Savannah feel about it. It just it feels like you're watching family in that sense, and you're all on the same page because you're all rooting for this eighty four year old woman to be found.

Speaker 2: Yeah, they if we got a twenty three percent increase in viewership year over year, that was in the most completed the last details we got for the most completed viewership week. But twenty three percent is unheard of in this day and time of any type of viewership. It's unheard of and this day and time of morning show viewership, it just doesn't happen anymore. And yes it's happening now. It's to be expected it. There is no one over at NBC, I'm sure salivating and looking as going, ooh, this is awesome. We got a great No, not at all. But the viewers are certainly interested in this show. Excuse me, the story and robes they're going to the place that is the centerpiece of it. And it's a delicate balance. How do you as the Today Show cover that story as it's just a news story.

And I think they have done We haven't watched a lot of television, but we know all of those folks, and they have done a beautiful job in finding that balance of covering the story but also making sure. Look, some of these headlines are salacious, and some of the sources say stuff just isn't true and only for headlines and bait. Obviously, NBC News is going to be uber respectful about making sure any information they put out is helpful and true.

And here we are road Saturday is a couple days away. That is two full weeks since this woman was seen by anyone.
