NEW: From Bombs To Ballrooms, Trump’s Bizarre Iran Update On Air Force One

Last night President Trump held a press gaggle on Airforce One where he said there has been regime change in Iran. Trump claimed we are now negotiating with a third group of leaders and that we’re doing “extremely well.” While he made a strange pivot to ballroom architectural plans, Trump also talked about that “gift” Iran is giving us, and said they are giving us everything we’re asking for, even though Iran has publicly said there are no negotiations and their military is waiting to set our troops on fire.

Speaker 1: Hey there, folks. It is Monday, March thirtieth, and the President says the war with Iran could be over soon. He said negotiations are going extremely well, and did the Iranians have agreed to just about all of the fifteen point plan. However, more US troops moved to the region over the weekend, and Iran says they are ready to set them on fire with that. Welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ. Rose. Doesn't this just continue to highlight? Is it over? Is it soon? Are we negotiating? Are we not? Because publicly it sounds like Iran ain't having any part of these negotiations.

00:00:48
Speaker 2: Yes, if you listen to President Trump, the war's pretty much done. We've accomplished almost all of our set out agenda, and they're just about to give in to everything that we've asked for. That's what the President said on Air Force one last night. Iran is saying that, Yeah, publicly we hear you, but secretly you're planning to attack us. And so by the way, we're ready.

00:01:13
Speaker 1: Yes, and some scary fiery words literally fiery words out of Iran. Now we're hopping on. We weren't expecting this update. This morning, We were prepared to post another morning episode about I don't know TSA or whatever else had happened overnight, and then we listened to the president's twenty minute press gaggle that he had on Air Force One on the way back from DC last night, and he said a lot Robes had to do with, yes, the war, but regime change. Will let you hear what he had to say about that. Also, he's made comments about taking Iran's oil, and he gave us an update on the Supreme Leader as well, and Robes. You and I haven't discussed this ahead of time, but if I say bombs and ballrooms in reference to a weird moment in this gaggle, you know what I'm talking aout right Yeah, we're going to get into it, but you know exactly it was bizarre.

00:02:03
Speaker 2: It was head spinningly bizarre. I don't even know what other word to describe it, because it was. If you were a reporter on Air Force one last night and he starts whipping out like architectural renderings while talking about Iran, You're like, what's happening right now?

00:02:20
Speaker 1: So I guess a lot of reporters do ask that a lot of times in press gaggles with this president. What's happening right now? But we wanted to give you the update from the president. I guess first and foremost Robes here is that he says it wasn't a goal. We know at the beginning, they didn't list regime change as one of the objectives, but it started to become an objective, like, what's the point you accomplish all this other stuff and the same regime is there that doesn't make sense. Started getting questioned about that, and now Robes, it looks like we are seeing some language starting to come out to where he is going to be able to say, yep, see we change the regime.

00:02:55
Speaker 2: That's right. He said that they changed the regime. They're on the third group of people, right, he said, first they had won, then they had another, and now they're on this third group of people, which are much more like, they're much easier to talk to. Basically, we're getting a lot more accomplished with this third group. And he was specifically asked about Homona's son if he was still alive, and he's like basically said barely kind of maybe, but he acted as though Harmone's son, who is now named by all accounts, the new Supreme leader. He kind of acted like he was a non entity.

00:03:25
Speaker 1: He inconsequential, not in charge, not somebody that the United States is negotiating with. Probes that is, who are we talking to? Remember at the beginning, when he said we have negotiations, everybody said, who you talking to? Some people? You know the guy he seemed to be talking about.

00:03:40
Speaker 2: The third group of people is what we got out of last night's gaggle, which was obviously still incredibly ambiguous.

00:03:47
Speaker 1: Yes, so he did it. I guess this is more specific than we've gotten from him about who he's been talking to. But he said, quote, we've had regime change if you look already, because one regime was decimated, the next regime is mostly dead, and the latest regime we are dealing with different people that nobody's dealt with before. It's a whole different group of people. So I would consider that regime change. And frankly, they've been very reasonable. So I think we've had regime change. There's your answer.

00:04:13
Speaker 2: Wow, that's verbatim, folks, That's a headline that's huge, and yet it's huge, it's not necessarily verifiable at this point and without specifics it's questionable, and that's fair and strange to say about our president all at the same time, not sure what to make of it. Need to hear from Rubio, need to hear from someone else to confirm some of this stuff. We don't know any of it.

00:04:34
Speaker 1: Isn't that weird though, He is essentially saying that the regime, original one and the one that came with the sun are gone. That is, essentially they are all gone, and there's a whole different group of people now running round.

00:04:47
Speaker 2: What's mostly did he said?

00:04:49
Speaker 1: Mostly?

00:04:50
Speaker 2: What does that mean? Mostly dead? It's like sort of pregnant. I don't know what that means.

00:04:55
Speaker 1: It's like your second trimester. I don't know. Okay, even this is enormous, and I think some headlines are starting to come out and robes. I think this is going to be talked about more when people wake up and realize how much news essentially he made in this gaggle.

00:05:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, I woke up. You get up ahead of me, and you said, Babe, you need to listen to this twenty minute gaggle that the president had last night on Air Force one. Just and that's all you needed to say. And I just kept thinking, what is happening right now, and we don't know what's happening in the world. And this is a significant consequence. Every time the President speaks, whether it's clear or unclear, the markets changed, the oil prices evolve, people react. There is new rhetoric coming out of Iran. Wherever that's coming from, it doesn't seem like it's coming from this third group of people, who the President says are much more amenable and willing to talk. The news coming out of Iran from Iran state television is significantly, as in like, diametrically opposed to what the President is saying.

00:05:59
Speaker 1: His words, it's okay, it's it's laughable to hear the President actually talking about Iranian leaders as being very reasonable. He said that publicly in front of cameras. The Iranian leaders are the ones that leads who have right now, who are seem to be publicly in charge, who he says, who he's dealing with, is reasonable. Those folks are publicly saying We're gonna set your troops on fire. Yeah, I don't know.

00:06:29
Speaker 2: What what what are we supposed to think?

00:06:31
Speaker 1: I don't know, we don't know where we are. And this is why, like you mentioned, markets are fluctuating, but every time he opens his mouth, the markets go one way or And I don't mean that disparagingly. I'm saying every time he speaks, every time he utters anything, markets do react. So the negotiations going back and forth, he says, they are very good negotiations. Got a lot of things they should have given us a long time ago. He also mentioned that these talks because there were some debate robes, are we face to face with these folks? Are we do we have emissaries? Are we just sending no to the Pakistani's And he's essentially said all that's going on, and.

00:07:05
Speaker 2: Iran is saying none of that is going on. So they're saying, we're not talking directly, we're not talking indirectly. They've passed us some points basically at Yeah, they've passed us notes and we're not negotiating. So they have literally said they're not negotiating in any way, shape or form. And we're hearing directly from the President saying we are actually negotiating with them indirectly and directly. Which is it?

00:07:31
Speaker 1: And also that it's going extremely well. He said his words, folks quote, we're doing extremely well in the negotiations. But you never know with Iran because we negotiate and then always have to blow them up. So that's the back and forth. The other one here Rose he was asked directly. He said, I think we'll make a deal with them, pretty sure, but it's possible we won't.

00:07:52
Speaker 2: It's like the meteorologist you always talk about they're going to get one to twelve inches of snow. You know, it's like somewhere in the middle. But I'm just gonna hedge my beds and say, hey, I told you it might only be one inch, and I told you it could be as much as twelve what.

00:08:06
Speaker 1: It will be eight? So I got it.

00:08:09
Speaker 2: But the point being is this is not snowfall. This is of significant consequence. Thousands of lives are hanging in the balance in terms of just troops being involved. We have thirty five hundred troops now in the region.

00:08:23
Speaker 1: And they say many of them trained for specifically for amphibious ground assaults, who are trained to, yes, come in from the water and get on the land and take over their marines. Right, the marines trained ready for this. And the President's talk about now taking the oil, talking about carg Island, which is the centerpiece of all of their energy infrastructure there in Iran. So a lot of that stall sounds like rhetoric, and his true social post from overnight is well, I don't even know what this means. Again ambiguous, it's always.

00:08:50
Speaker 2: In fact, I was looking at the headlines because people are now we're trying to interpret what the president says, which has also been a new skill that folks have had to try and develop, not successfully it seems, because yes, the headlines are basically what the hell does this mean? This is what the president put out on true social Big Day in Iran. Many long sought after targets have been taken out and destroyed bar by our great military, the finest and most lethal in the world. God bless you all, President DJT. What targets?

00:09:21
Speaker 1: That was it?

00:09:22
Speaker 2: What people are like? What is he referring big Day, Big Day.

00:09:26
Speaker 1: In Iran today? Right now? Big Day in Iran. Don't know what it means.

00:09:30
Speaker 2: We don't know what it means.

00:09:32
Speaker 1: But with all of this going on in this breast gaggle, without question, no matter who's watching this or had watched this, one moment in particular is going to stand out because the President went from talking about bombs to ballrooms in an awkward transition that included a show intel. Stay here, all right, We continue here on Amy and TJ on this Monday morning, talking about what the President was talking about in his press gaggle on Air Force one on the back from on the way back from Florida overnight, yescaveed some updates on Iran. We've been talking about ropes. But the first seven minutes of his press gaggle three two and a half, three minutes he came out, he was talking about Iran before he started asking questions. The next three and a half to four minutes were spent amazingly, shockingly on White House construction.

00:10:40
Speaker 2: Yeah. I actually listened to some of it and fast forward it and couldn't believe how long he went. Now you have the verbatim here, babe. He did this mid sentence. Correct, He literally made the switch from Iran. I like how you said, from bombs to ballrooms, Like in mid sentence he said it.

00:10:56
Speaker 1: That's the verbt hook. So yes, I want you to know, folks, but she's about to read here is how he said it. He wasn't asked about the ballroom. And again he came out and just started talking before taking questions. But he came out, start talking around, and this is how he transitioned.

00:11:12
Speaker 2: So he said, it truly is regime change. Regime change is imperative. I think we have it automatically. I did something today. I just got these infrom architects. A lot of people are talking about how beautiful the ballroom is, and so all of a sudden, now from behind him has these huge, beautiful rendered architectural rendering renderings. I said, render and renderings of this ballroom, and he just starts whipping out rendering after rendering of what the ballroom is going to look like, and talking about the ballroom mid sentence. There was no transition, There was no question. It was confusing. It was like a record scratch moment where you're like, wait, what's happening right now?

00:11:53
Speaker 1: It was a what's happening moment?

00:11:55
Speaker 2: What is actually happening right now?

00:11:58
Speaker 1: Why he chose this moment? But those things were clearly laid out and prepared. I don't know if you could tell. He kind of looks down and starts gesturing for it to be handed to him, So I assume they were positioned there and ready for him. I don't assume that he just happened to see him on the floor and wanted to start talking about him.

00:12:14
Speaker 2: No, it was a plan, but I guess he didn't really think out how he was going to transition.

00:12:19
Speaker 1: We do this a lot, right in news. We used to have to do this all the time, these awkward transitions to where you're talking about a story about death or destruction or something very serious and you have to transition to light or fair. It's something that many in the news business have become very adept at. You watch TV today, you'll see many people do still suck at it.

00:12:39
Speaker 2: It's hard to do, yeah, especially when you're going from two extremely different topics. But the President, it's not even the fact that he didn't transition, well, it was the why in the hell are you transitioning right now?

00:12:56
Speaker 1: True? There, But as news folks, I was looking like, Wow, he really could have used some I wish I could have written that tease him right.

00:13:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe if he had found some line. I don't know what he could have said. It still made no sense. It felt like, Hey, I know you want to talk about Iran, but look at this over here, look at this over here. Let me distract you. Let me distract you from more, and let's talk about something positive and fun and something I'm really excited about because I don't want to talk about Iran anymore, and what it felt like.

00:13:24
Speaker 1: And when they got a chance to ask questions, not one was about a ballroom.

00:13:27
Speaker 2: No one gave a yes, No one gave a rats. You know what about the ballroom? They were like, I'm sorry, moving back now to the story that is basically setting the world on fire. Can we talk about Iran and what's happening?

00:13:40
Speaker 1: He wrapped up. I wrote something he did mention. This was also a lot of ambiguity lately, I guess out of the White House, but it was ambigu us as well. He talked to Els a couple of weeks ago, I don't know how long. Remind me if you can, when he said that Iron had given him a gift and he wouldn't say what it was. Yeah, was in the why It might have been when Mark Wayne Mullen was sworn in, might have been around that time, but it was in the overlall of that yet And he talked about Iran had given a gift but wouldn't say what it was, and what's this mystery? Gift. He's explaining now what the gift was, and would this not be a big deal? Would this not be a huge gesture if it's true.

00:14:16
Speaker 2: Yes, And he did actually get specific in his ambiguity. He said they agreed to send ten ships through the Strait of Hormuz, and then he said that they gave us as a tribute as a sign of respect. Twenty boats now will be able to go through the Hormuz Strait starting today.

00:14:39
Speaker 1: So even when he got specific about the ambiguity, there's still some ambiguity within ten or twenty is it tens of twenty? And who are they, where they're coming from, where they're going, what country they belong to, all these things. But look, he's saying, if that's true, Robes, why would they do that the kindness of their heart? Why would they do that if they're not trying to set up a possibility of some goodwill towards maybe and end too the maybe some negotiations. All this is just maybe he's maybe's maybees And I know this stuff needs to be we need to leave some room, right, they need to don't want to put everything out there publicly. But the problem is he seems to be talking so much that why not give some of the extra details that.

00:15:18
Speaker 2: Could help, right, just basically saying a lot without saying anything and leaving all this like questioning about what he could mean that actually just sparks more speculation and creates more rumors. I don't know if it's a if it's deliberate, if he's wanting this to get out to Iran to make it sound there seem confusing, so they don't know what's true and what's not. I'm not sure. But what do you make of the interview he gave to the Financial Times talking about taking oil in Iran? That was another standout moment from his recent comments.

00:15:52
Speaker 1: That I mean, you think about Venezuela, you think about them now in Iran, and he's talking about Cuba. Cuba's next. Use that phrase keep his neck. I don't know what we're doing. Looks like we're going after everybody who we can say is a bad actor that maybe has some resources or something that can help us out. I don't know. He's talking about taking over the straight up a music can say, we could do it so fast and make your head spin. He said that in the Gaggle as well, But uh Bros. People went crazy the first time when he said we're going to take Venezuela's old I mean, we like pirates. We're just jacking people.

00:16:25
Speaker 2: And then we have and everyone's just gotten quiet again, and so then he but he insulted. If you don't agree with him, basically, you're stupid, or if you're questioning him, you're stupid. This was the big deal to me about what he said to the Financial Times. He said, to be honest with you, my favorite thing is to take the oil in Iran. But some stupid people back in the US say why are you doing that? But they're stupid people, stupid. You know, He's insulted plenty of people specifically, but now he's just insulting anyone you're back in America who doesn't understand why he's doing what he's doing.

00:17:04
Speaker 1: We've seen that a lot of times. If you don't agree with him, he doesn't just say respectfully or understand that side of it, or I disagree. He says, you're dummy, you're an idiot, you're stupid. Yeah, this is that's not the playbook. That's right.

00:17:18
Speaker 2: It's still it's still even after all this time, it still is surprising and shocking.

00:17:24
Speaker 1: Well, those are your at least updates on the war in Iran for today, the President saying today will be a big day. More targets are being hit. At the same time, he's saying negotiations are going not just well, but extremely well, saying that Iran has agreed to give most of the fifteen points at the US once. Meanwhile, more US troops are moving into the region, and Iran said they are prepared. If US troops would set foot in Iran, they are prepared, in their words, to set fire to them. We are keeping a close eye, of course, I'm sure you are as well, and all things going on with the war in Iran. We will keep you updated here.
