NEW: FBI Makes Rare Statement On Validity Of Nancy Guthrie Ransom Notes

RSS Feed Following a report by Reuters this week that NONE of the Nancy Guthrie ransom notes are legitimate, the FBI has released a statement attempting to clarify what they believe is real and what isn’t. While the feds admit that some of the notes were, in fact, extortion attempts, they insist that some of the other ransom notes “may potentially be legitimate and are still to be investigated as such.” This is just another confusing twist in the mystery that deepens with every confusing headline.

First to have Reuter saying that they were told by multiple sources that none of the ransom notes that we have been talking about for the past several months, even this most recent one, are real or legitimate. They're all fake. They're all folks trying to get money, trying to get attention, whatever. And the FBI immediately fairly immediately released a statement saying, wait, hold up, Reuters, yes, some of the notes are fake, but some of them might be legitimate. And look, TMZ is very quick to point out that their sources at the FBI made that point, because look, they've been a huge part of this story. They have received, they said, more than a dozen ransom notes from who they believe is the same person. But something of note that Reuter's put into their account or into their story that I had not heard before. They claimed the FBI actually sent some a small amount of cryptocurrency to one of these demands or one of these ransom letters the place where they said to put this money in, and they said not only did they not get any response, but they claimed that the money was never even taken or accepted. So that was part of the reasoning. Reuter said the note was fake because no one took the money. It was a small amount, but you would think if this was legit, they would have access to that money.

Are you kidding me? Is it possible she is there? Buried there? They didn't turn up anything rogues, but that prompted whoever had been talking to TMZ to talk to TMZ again, and it sounded personal. You remember some of the stuff they were saying in the notes today.

So are all of TMZ's ransom notes from the same person all fake? Reuter says yes, TMZ says maybe not.

With all the emphasis, with all the focus, with all the spotlights on this story, you would think there would be a rush job going on right now in those laps.

Speaker 1: The person's playing the long game because they've been sending they've been after a a single bitcoin for a long time now that this toll, that thing has been bizarre, and what they're claiming they have is absolutely bizarre, and the things you listened wrot. Speaker 2: Yes, and that person went quiet for months, so it is suspicious why they pop back up once more headlines started sulating about possible other notes giving information or tips, at least giving information as to where Nancy Guthrie is. That was suspicious that right when the news came out that one of the notes included details that Nancy Guthrie had died. This person then suddenly starts jumping back into the game, so to speak. I hate to even use that term, but that is what it feels like at points, because it doesn't feel like anything has well, It doesn't feel like it nothing so far has led to any actionable information. And that's the truth.

And that you know, remember cash Pttel came out throwing shade at the Sheriff's department for using an independent DNA lab versus using FBI headquarters at Quantico to try and determine who this other DNA may belong to, some unspecified male that is not a family member or a known contact of Nancy Guthrie that was in the home at the time. Yeah, where is that information that to me would be the most obvious link to whoever is behind what happened to Nancy Guthrie. And we're told they're going through genealogy websites. I don't know. These things seem to take significantly longer than they should in my untrained mind, But it is strange that we're still waiting. With all the emphasis, with all the focus, with all the spotlights on this story, you would think there would be a rush job going on right now in those laps.
