These are folks who understand the situation that it's better for us if I take the fall, then you take the fall. He could have been looking at it in that regard or to your point, that are romantic in you he was just looking out for his girlfriend.

But he hasn't come off anything we've seen. Excuse me, I've seen like a crazed person, if you will. Now behind the scenes and allegations of domestic violence being thrown both ways, who knows. We just haven't seen that yet the way we've seen it with her.

Speaker 2: We've seen it from her, And what we did here was him telling police he was worried about her, that she's not doing okay. But he also was showing the officers the injuries he says he suffered during the fight, his elbow, his finger. He seemed I mean, it was just it was fast.

Speaker 2: You and I watch a lot of true crime, generally speaking, and we see a lot of these interviews with folks when they're being interviewed by police. I always find it fascinating in the moment when you see this interaction between police and the people they're interviewing when a crime has been committed, or at least an alleged crime has happened.

Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean we all think we know, right, you can tell in somebody's lying. We've seen enough of these things. Usually we have hindsight, right in twenty twenty. Hindsiet is always twenty twenty. But you would like to think that you look at someone and you can tell whether or not they're lying, and they're putting on and they're trying to get away with something. And he, I mean, just to a laborerson, just in looking at it, he comes off as a pretty sincere very calm, not intoxicated, not crazed. Guy who's still in that moment after being attacked the way we saw at least in that video, was still trying to bring the temperature.

Speaker 2: Yes, and you can look it's tough for Taylor. I can't imagine. And we'll get into what she has said about some of these videos being released and how it's affecting not only her but her children. So she has been putting a few things out, at least through comments. She's had a few moments on social media since this all went down. We haven't heard anything directly from Dakota other than through these videos. And to me, this seems just very genuine because obviously he didn't know these videos were going to make the light of day. Clearly he recorded the video, perhaps as an insurance policy, so to speak, so he did do that. But these body cam videos just seem very authentic to me because it wasn't as if he was putting on for the camera in that moment. And look, the thing that's making so many headlines today is that you hear Dakota literally ask the police officer to take him to jail instead of tailor. I'm curious what your thoughts were on that moment, because that is what most people are talking about in what's been revealed in this video.

Speaker 3: No, I'm to be honest with you, that look like a guy who gets it. From a public relations standpoint that this is going to look much worse and there is. You are the moneymaker, you are the star, and it's going to look a lot worse if you end up with a charge than if I do. That was my first thought. This is a guy who gets it. Now, on the other part of that, it could be a guy who just being genuine not thinking about any of that, and just doesn't want, even despite what she did, this woman to go to jail. She's a mother of three.

I think you should because if you're listening to this, it's likely you have seen the video that got the Bachelorette season completely canceled. The officer was explaining to him, look, she does need to go to jail, she does need to be arrested, she does need to be charged, and he says to him, maybe this will be a wake up call for Taylor. He's basically explaining to Dakota why he thinks Taylor needs to basically suffer some consequences.

This was not.

When I don't know that Taylor knows or thought that these videos were going to be coming out, or at least this body cam footage was going to come out, you had to think it was possible. But obviously when she was canceled, we heard from her people saying that she was going to tell her story, and she absolutely more than hinted at the fact that Dakota has been this, you know, person who she's had to deal with abuse wise, that she's a victim that she suffered in silence. But with this bodycam footage out, I wonder if that is just as likely. Is she still going to feel just as empowered, or is she still going to come out and say something that flies in the face of this video that would be interesting.

Well, now this new video picks up or that left off, and we see Dakota actually very calm, seemingly sober, and seemingly wanting to actually help Taylor in those moments. Now, Taylor has been fairly quiet, but she said she's not going away. She's put some comments out, so clearly she is reading what people are saying. I wonder what that has been like for her over the last couple of days. We always say, never read the comments, but it's clear she has.

Speaker 3: Yeah, it's her livelihood is being online, being aware of what people are saying, and then certainly about you. But I don't know. Maybe she does have her supporters. I haven't taken a close look, but I know she had her Everybody at that level has a stash of I guess rabbit fans, the believers and the Swifties and that kind of thing she had. I think they call them something the Taylor Army or something or the other. But I don't know what are they saying about her out there.

Speaker 2: Well, look, she's obviously dealing with a lot of incoming and some folks are saying, you know, go away, put your phone down. Early on she put something out saying, what do you expect me to do? Stare at the wall like I'm not putting my phone down basically, and look, that is part of her brand. No one tells me what to do. I say what I think, whether you like it or not. And I'm not here to win friends or win your approval. I'm just being my authentic self. So this is kind of her brand, and so it's not surprising that she's jumped on a couple of the comments. One of the ones though, that is making headlines today because this resonates and look, I get it. She has talked about being a mom and how that's the most important thing to her, and some people have said she's used that as a shield, so to speak, from some of the incoming. But here is what Taylor put out on a comment on a video out there on TikTok. She said, worst part is my daughter having to relive and see it all over again years later after extensive work with her and apologies to her about that night and my baby boy birthday was taken from him.

Speaker 3: Okay that could all be true, Yes, yes, And I think some people reading that, maybe not paying as close to attention, would read that and go, oh, poor thing and poor family, those poor kids. Sympathy, that's what right, this is a part of a strategy.

Speaker 2: And the choice to comment on someone's video versus put something out on her own social media was interesting. And look, she points out, I don't know if she wants sympathy for this or she's questioning the timing of this.

Speaker 3: But they wrote and it was some suggestion as if it was a part of the investigation, a part of the record, as if we're they just got their hands on it and nobody else had all this whole time. It the way they worded it it they didn't give much of an explain.

Speaker 2: He yes, they worded it very nebulously, but they did absolutely suggest And look, I think it's true that video absolutely was a part of the investigation. Interestingly, though, this is where I'm a little questioning where or how TMC got their hands on it because Taylor Frankie Paul's first husband or her ex husband, who is the father of her two oldest children, when this all went down, when she was arrested and charged with domestic violence, he actually got custody of those two older children for quite some time, for a few months before she earned it back and got back to fifty to fifty joint custody. He reportedly asked to see the video. He knew there was a video, he knew it was in evidence in this case, and he has said he was denied the opportunity to look at the video because he is now saying, if I had seen that video that we all just saw, I would never have let my kids go back to joint custody with her. I would have fought for full custody. So that's interesting. He the father of those children and that little girl who was hit, was not allowed.

He just doesn't seem like he is trying to ruin her. Could be completely wrong, and he could be playing us all publicly, But man, there is I just I don't know how else it makes sense.

Early on she put something out saying, what do you expect me to do? Stare at the wall like I'm not putting my phone down basically, and look, that is part of her brand. No one tells me what to do. I say what I think, whether you like it or not. And I'm not here to win friends or win your approval. I'm just being my authentic self. So this is kind of her brand, and so it's not surprising that she's jumped on a couple of the comments. One of the ones though, that is making headlines today because this resonates and look, I get it. She has talked about being a mom and how that's the most important thing to her, and some people have said she's used that as a shield, so to speak, from some of the incoming. But here is what Taylor put out on a comment on a video out there on TikTok. She said, worst part is my daughter having to relive and see it all over again years later after extensive work with her and apologies to her about that night and my baby boy birthday was taken from him.

Speaker 3: Okay that could all be true, Yes, yes, And I think some people reading that, maybe not paying as close to attention, would read that and go, oh, poor thing and poor family, those poor kids. Sympathy, that's what right, this is a part of a strategy.

Speaker 2: And the choice to comment on someone's video versus put something out on her own social media was interesting. And look, she points out, I don't know if she wants sympathy for this or she's questioning the timing of this.

Speaker 2: But the day that that video came out, that basically hours later ended her bachelorette season, was her little boy, Ever's second birthday, that is the boy she shares with her ex Dakota.

Speaker 3: But they wrote and it was some suggestion as if it was a part of the investigation, a part of the record, as if we're they just got their hands on it and nobody else had all this whole time. It the way they worded it it they didn't give much of an explain.

Speaker 2: He yes, they worded it very nebulously, but they did absolutely suggest And look, I think it's true that video absolutely was a part of the investigation. Interestingly, though, this is where I'm a little questioning where or how TMC got their hands on it because Taylor Frankie Paul's first husband or her ex husband, who is the father of her two oldest children, when this all went down, when she was arrested and charged with domestic violence, he actually got custody of those two older children for quite some time, for a few months before she earned it back and got back to fifty to fifty joint custody. He reportedly asked to see the video. He knew there was a video, he knew it was in evidence in this case, and he has said he was denied the opportunity to look at the video because he is now saying, if I had seen that video that we all just saw, I would never have let my kids go back to joint custody with her. I would have fought for full custody. So that's interesting. He the father of those children and that little girl who was hit, was not allowed.

He just doesn't seem like he is trying to ruin her. Could be completely wrong, and he could be playing us all publicly, But man, there is I just I don't know how else it makes sense.
