Republicans and Democrats are considering this option. They're going to kick the ice funding can down the road, Robes, and they're floating the idea of just funding the Department of Homeland Security except for ICE. So we'll fund everything FEMA, TSA except for ice for now. We'll deal with the ice funding down the road, deal with that later, Robes. That's why didn't we do that in the first place, You might argue, but this is the first sign we have seen since February fourteenth that there's a possible offram.

So now they are saying they have received a note with some points on it.

All right, two very different stories, and because of that, maybe it should be no surprise that next up on the run, oil prices are shooting back up after they did take a dive. Yesterday, oil dropped ten percent and below that one hundred dollars threshold a barrel after President Trump backed off his threat to destroy iran I Runian energy infrastructure, citing those aforementioned productive talks with Iran.

Speaker 2: Of course, they called those talks fake news that were meant to buy the president time and calm financial markets. It seemed to work, actually, because the competing claims approved. Unsettling to investors. Oil went back up over one hundred dollars a barrow overnight, and gas prices ticked up again overnight as well. But again we did see the stock market go up. It was shooting up quite frankly, and then things robes calmed a little bit when they say, wait a minute, are there talks for real? Is this serious? So average price of a gallon of gas right now three dollars and ninety eight cents. A month ago it was two ninety five. You are paying a full dollar more for a gallon of gas than you were before the war Iran started.

Speaker 1: Yeah, in just a matter of weeks, all right. Next up on the run LaGuardia thankfully has reopened after yesterday's deadly collision on the runway between an Air Canada jet and that emergency vehicle.

Speaker 2: Now, the pilot and co pilot were killed and at least forty others were injured when the jet of on landing slammed into an emergency truck that was responding to a separate incident. We did hear that audio almost immediately. Air traffic Control trying to get that truck after giving them the permission to cross the runway, tried to get them to stop. It was too late, and road we are we knew, I mean, cameras were everywhere. It was just a matter of time. But that video is out there, and you see gives us an idea of how the plane ended up in the position it did.

Speaker 1: Yes, and we heard that air traffic controller basically admit saying I messed up, which was hard to hear, and I can't even imagine what that moment was like. Now. The airport was closed from the early morning hours, I guess right after midnight till early afternoon yesterday, and even though they are technically reopened, they are still dealing with cancelations and delays, of course, caused by yesterday's closure. And next up on the run, another airport in this area, the control tower at Newark International Airport, was evacuated yesterday because of reports of smoke. This prompted a ground stop at that airport. It only lasted for about a half hour or so, but imagine that was happening at the exact same time LaGuardia was closed. Turns out there was no fire, but controllers did report a burning smell, which ultimately was determined to be coming from the elevators, which is also concerning, But no one was injured and apparently no long lasting issues.

The Defense Department announced it would be closing media offices in the building, getting rid of an area that's been affectionately called the correspondence corridor. Speaker 1: So the New York Times sued last year. You may remember after the Pentagon restricted access to any journalist who refused to sign a pledge to only report on Pentagon approved information. Hello, that is not journalism, that is being state media, all right, The Pentagon spokesperson said, because this judge now said that can't work. They're gonna put up an annex building at some point to allow journalists to work then at a remote location.

The New York Times, in response to that, said, yes, clearly they're trying to skirt and get around the judges ruling said yes, we will be going back to court. In California, a civil jury found Bill Cosby liable for drugging and sexually assaulting a former Saucilito waitress back in nineteen seventy two, and she has now been awarded fifty nine point two five million dollars.

It's interesting because it first gave Donna Matsinger, that is, the woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby nineteen point twenty five million dollars for her pain and suffering, and then awarded her another forty million dollars in punitive damages against Bill Cosby.

Speaker 2: He has denied assaulting anyone. His only criminal conviction for sexual assault was overturned in twenty twenty one for procedural reasons. That's four hundred thousand cases or nine point eight to be specific, million pounds of Trader Joe's vegetable fried rice are being pulled from stores because of what they call the presence of foreign objects.

Speaker 1: We got very specific glass varying in size from one to three centimeters long and one to four millimimeters wide. Yeah. The company is also recalling its frozen chicken fried rice, Japanese style fried rice, and chicken shoe may. It's a lot of food and a lot of frozen products, and the Department of Agriculture said they believe it's the carrots that are the likely source of contamination. The agency said it received multiple complaints of glass present in the packages. Look, this is maybe a painful lesson that you learn, but it's not necessarily considered deadly. It's interesting because it first gave Donna Matsinger, that is, the woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby nineteen point twenty five million dollars for her pain and suffering, and then awarded her another forty million dollars in punitive damages against Bill Cosby.

That's four hundred thousand cases or nine point eight to be specific, million pounds of Trader Joe's vegetable fried rice are being pulled from stores because of what they call the presence of foreign objects.

Speaker 1: We got very specific glass varying in size from one to three centimeters long and one to four millimimeters wide. Yeah. The company is also recalling its frozen chicken fried rice, Japanese style fried rice, and chicken shoe may. It's a lot of food and a lot of frozen products, and the Department of Agriculture said they believe it's the carrots that are the likely source of contamination. The agency said it received multiple complaints of glass present in the packages. Look, this is maybe a painful lesson that you learn, but it's not necessarily considered deadly.
