But we have to talk about the weather.

Speaker 1: See that's on everybody's mind obviously, everybody's trying to get somewhere, and it's going to be kind of a mess for folks track if you're on the road, which overwhelmingly the majority of people are. But there's a lot of snow and rain and wind and a mess and a lot of places. But you look at that map and it looks like a kid has been playing on the weather map, because literally not quite half, but certainly more than a third is covered with pink and white and blues, and it's just rain and snow all over the place. We got it, which he says winter storm warnings were infect in places like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and some of that continues throughout the day to day.

Speaker 2: I always remember from working in local news, when your local weathercaster or meteorologists calls it interesting weather map, you know you're in for some issues. So, yeah, there are two storm systems. One is over the Ohio Valley. It brought significant rain to the northeast. We saw that last night. And then it's bringing winds and heavy snow to the Midwest and Great Lakes Minnesota getting an inch of snow an hour. But dare I say, those folks, those hardy folks are used to it. Oh yeah, my mom and dad lived there for thirteen years. I visited them in December once. Once I visited them in December.

Speaker 1: See, they think it's funny we're reporting about their weather because it sounds extraordinarily. US continue to hear all the run though this is good news. There are some good signals coming out of these talks to end the Russia Ukraine War. Well, the end could be near because US officials are telling the likes of NBC and CBS News that Ukraine has agreed to a peace proposal. This was the plan that was pushed by President Trump.

Speaker 2: High ranking US and Ukrainian officials have been meeting over the past couple of days, and now President Trump says he will dispatch his Special ENVOYE. Steve Whitcoff, we know his name well to Russia. He's going to meet with President Putin with the hopes of finalizing this deal. This obviously would be huge. This is something Trump has been trying to get in place. Didn't you say at one point he'd get it done in seven days once he became president.

And update also about the FBI wanting to now interview those six senators who made a video telling members of the military to disobey illegal orders. Remember this president really got annoyed by this video. Of course, he's been sending troops to different streets all over the country, but they put this video together, and he said it was seditious and reminded us all that sedition was punishable by death. He took it that series.

Speaker 2: Yes, and so Democrats say they have been contacted by the FBI to schedule their interviews. I cannot even imagine what that phone call was like. And we should mention Trump did back off calling for these six lawmakers death, however, but he has maintained and has not minced words, that he thinks they should all be in jail. All right, Senator Mark Kelly among those six, But he is actually facing something beyond jail. He's actually facing his own separate review.

Speaker 1: This is wild. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseeth has asked the Navy Secretary to review the video for quote, potentially unlawful conduct. We're not exactly sure what that means, but the Defense Department did put out in social media a couple days ago talking about that video and raise the possibility of bringing him back from military service, which they can do because he retired, or senior officer bring him back just to court martialal is what they're talking about. But this review they're asking for now is supposed to be due on December tenth at the latest.

The network formerly known as MSNBC cited three sources saying that Patel might be on his way out. The White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt responded on social media, saying she actually read the headline to President Trump, who then immediately called Patel over for a picture, saying, let's show them you're doing a good job. And they took the pick and posted it. So there's a as good of endorsement you can get.

Speaker 2: All smiles, all right. Next up on the Run, we have an update on a story we told you about yesterday. That manhunt is still underway for high school football coach in Virginia. We're talking about forty six year old Travis Turner.

Speaker 1: This was a bizarre, a very mysterious story from the beginning. He's been missing since the last week. Police weren't saying initially why they were looking for him, but they put a lot of resources into it, but say he wasn't they didn't want him for a rest. Well, they changed their tune yesterday saying, in fact, he is wanted on ten felony counts having to do with possession of child pornography and using a computer to solicit a minor. Again, Rose, you talked about and looking into his background. This is a hometown boy, a hometown hero, and now such a part of the community and this is devastating. Yeah, he's still missing in a witted area and they've been looking for him with drones and dogs and everything.

Speaker 2: So this is day six now, And yeah, this is a town Appalachia, Virginia in the Tri state area. Two thousand people in this town. They have long history. So yes, we actually did a podcast right before this the full story. It really is fascinating and frankly devastating for this community. But we'll keep our eyes on what happens with that story. But in the meantime, next up on the run another story that has plagued specifically New York City for decades. The man who was previously convicted of kidnapping and murdering eight and Pats will now be retried eight and Pats. If you think about it, and if you google his name, you will see that picture and you will recognize me because this is the case, one of the most famous abduction cases that actually started the movement for child missing children putting their pictures on milk carton's. Literally ate and Pats's face was on a milk carton and you'll recognize it when you see it. But this happened in nineteen seventy nine. He was walking to his school bus. He was six years old in Soho.

Speaker 1: Well, and I'm trying to I can't remember Adam Walsh. Yes, right, those two kids changed law enforcement, they changed, their abductions changed, and it really has a lot to do with high profile here. But the Walsh they wouldn't let it go right and became their mission. But they really did change how we view child abduction, child reduction, can missing persons. Yes, they actually did so. Yes, that's explaining and just he's a part of history if you will. But the guy who was convicted and sentenced for his death in twenty seventeen, well that conviction was actually overturned earlier this year. They kept him in jail though, as prosecutors were deciding what they were wanting to do. But Pedro Hernandez is his name, he's sixty four. Now he is going to stay in custody as they plan now to retry him. This is going to be incredible to see that case try.

Speaker 2: The I know it's going to happen this summer, they say, right now. But this is his third trial because the first trial resulted in a hung jury. Second one was the conviction, then it was overturned. So yeah, this will be this will be quite the trial and this summer.

Speaker 2: Jury asked if they could consider something. The judge said no when he should have said maybe that's from what I understand, but it had nothing to do with the evidence. It was the jurors instruction.

More more people were arrested. They haven't said what their roles were, or what they did or didn't do, or what they think they did. But it was two men and two women. And again a reminder, one hundred and two million dollars worth of French crown jewels were stolen and remain missingsing at that stuff.

Speaker 1: This is so fascinating if they think they got everybody. And yes, now that they arrested these four in addition to the three they already had in custody, they now say they believe they have that four man team that actually participated in the heist. They say they got them.

Speaker 2: Next up on the run by Heart, the company behind the bachelorism outbreak says that now all of its products might be tainted. We know at least thirty plus babies have been sick, and thankfully there have been no deaths as a result of this outbreak. But the company had initially recalled some of its products, and they added some more products. Now it's all the products.

Police weren't saying initially why they were looking for him, but they put a lot of resources into it, but say he wasn't they didn't want him for a rest. Well, they changed their tune yesterday saying, in fact, he is wanted on ten felony counts having to do with possession of child pornography and using a computer to solicit a minor. Again, Rose, you talked about and looking into his background. This is a hometown boy, a hometown hero, and now such a part of the community and this is devastating. Yeah, he's still missing in a witted area and they've been looking for him with drones and dogs and everything.

Speaker 2: So this is day six now, And yeah, this is a town Appalachia, Virginia in the Tri state area. Two thousand people in this town. They have long history. But in the meantime, next up on the run another story that has plagued specifically New York City for decades. The man who was previously convicted of kidnapping and murdering eight and Pats will now be retried eight and Pats. If you think about it, and if you google his name, you will see that picture and you will recognize me because this is the case, one of the most famous abduction cases that actually started the movement for child missing children putting their pictures on milk carton's. Literally ate and Pats's face was on a milk carton and you'll recognize it when you see it. But this happened in nineteen seventy nine. He was walking to his school bus. He was six years old in Soho.

But the guy who was convicted and sentenced for his death in twenty seventeen, well that conviction was actually overturned earlier this year. Now he is going to stay in custody as they plan now to retry him. This is going to be incredible to see that case try.
