Speaker 1: Yes, and federal workers are finally going to get paid, which is going to allow them to travel to DC and go to the Smithsonian or at least get on a plane and not experience or expect delays or cancelations.

But on the other fronts, at least we did see literally see people walking into their office building, their federal office buildings yesterday is going to be going on again today. The money is coming for them. That's all good news. Backpayd supposed to start as early as this weekend.

But we've seen a severe drop off in cancelations and delays related to anything shut down.

A former ABC the colleague of ours, has passed away. Cynthia Arrivo, don't play. Also, Trump ran into a glass door, California's rain worries, and a stressed out death row inmate. We got to get to all of that today. But Rose we talk about they're starting to get paid. Some of the folks that are going to be paid in the federal government going to get even more.

Speaker 1: I love this story because it actually was built in after the fact, a reward for folks who did the right thing for no other motivation other than to do the right thing. Some TSA agents are about to get paid, but we're not talking about their back pay. Some are going to get ten thousand dollars bonuses for how they performed during the shutdown. Here's what Homeland Security Secretary Christy Nome said in her announcement. She said agents who exhibited exemplary service during the shutdown would be getting those bonuses. Those who stepped up, taking on extra shifts, showing up each and every day.

Speaker 1: We obviously heard Trump earlier say that he wants to extend that same courtesy to air traffic controllers who also showed up.

Trump, you also said folks that didn't miss work. So I wonder if that's going to be a part of it. You have to come in every single day and didn't miss anyone.

A lot of the governments shut down headlines have been replaced by the Epstein email headlines the last couple of days because Trump's name keeps showing up. The emails that keep showing up a part of that newly released stack of twenty thousand plus documents released this week by the House Oversight Committee.

Speaker 1: Here are some of the latest newly discovered emails. There was an exchange with a reporter where Epstein said Trump almost walked through the door, leaving his nose print on the glass as young women were swimming in the pool, and he was so focused he walked straight into the door. In another, Epstein says to someone, would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?

Speaker 3: And another exchange that included a photo of a woman, Epstein wrote, quote my twenty year old girlfriend in ninety three that after two years I gave to Donald. Another one that's been released, saying this, I've told you I've met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump, not one decent cell in his body.

Speaker 1: The initial selective release of some of these emails this week by Democrats set off a new round of Epstein headlines, and there has been a steady trickle of new revelations each and every day.

Speaker 1: Are shocking to think they've been there all along and we're just now getting this trickled out release of these emails. The White House continues to say, regards list of all the headlines, that the emails prove nothing other than the fact that President did nothing wrong.

Speaker 3: Yes, some of them are embarrassing, make you ask questions about the relationship, but nothing in here says the President Trump did anything illegal. He has never been the subject of any investigation that was a part of Epstein, So that has to be said every time. Also, want to continue on this run now, and we're staying on the Trump front here. The BBC has apologized to the President in hopes of not being sued up the wazoo.

Speaker 1: Yes, because if his history repeats itself, that is what the next step would be. Right. Trump threatened to go after the British broadcaster for one billion dollars for how it edited his January sixth speech to supporters. So it showed him saying fight like hell, but they did not include where he urged them to protest peacefully. So the chair of the BBC sent a personal letter to the White House excepting that the edit did create the wrong impression that Trump was calling for violence.

Speaker 3: However, they rejected the President's claim that he had been defamed by their edit. Now, the way of putting that is, we ain't about to pay you a billion dollars. We'll see where this goes. He demanded an apology. Maybe that'll be.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, the death row inmate, who was granted clemency moments before his scheduled execution yesterday, was later found unresponsive in his cell. We are talking about Tremaine Wood. We have been talking about him extensively over the past couple of weeks. Well, he had to be taken to the hospital after what corrections officials described as a medical event that resulted in injuries.

Speaker 3: That he was scheduled to die yesterday by lethal injection. At ten am local time, the governor commuted his sentence, and by a lot of the local reporting, I couldn't believe they say literally it was commuted at nine fifty nine, one minute before he was scheduled to die.

Speaker 3: Afterwards, Wood met with his attorneys and was moved off death row and was later found unresponsive and alone in his new cell.

Speaker 1: He later told prison officials he laid down to sleep and the next thing he remembered was waking up in the infirmary with a busted head and lip. It was determined that that medical event was due to dehydration and stress. You can only imagine one minute before your schedule time.

Speaker 3: Today, I thought he's going to die. I can't imagine how that feels. And this was yesterday, so this might have been yesterday afternoon. His last meal was at six o'clock the night before his final meal as we say, my goodness, continue on the run here and on this execution front, if you will. Florida has now doubled its previous record for most executions in a year. The state carried out it's sixteenth execution of the year last night.

Speaker 1: Brian Jennings was pronounced dead at six twenty pm after being administered a lethal injection. He was convicted for the nineteen seventy nine abduction, rape, and murder of a six year old girl. He had no final statement before he was executed.

Speaker 3: And tonight then in South Carolina, there will be another execution, convicted triple murderer Stephen Bryant, scheduled to die by firing squad in that state. I believe, the third such execution in that state this year. Continuing on the run, now we head out West California. Folks out there about to get dumped on parts of the state, expecting to get as much rain in the next couple of days as they would get over several months. This is described as a rare one to two punch of storms.

Speaker 1: Northern California started getting hit first yesterday and could end up with six inches of rain, and that heavy rain is expected to start today last through the weekend in the LA area, causing flooding and possible mudslides. Torrential rains are being forecast to drop two to four inches of rain on LA. Their average for the month of November about three quarters of an inch of rain, So this is significant for them.

Speaker 3: All right, continuing on the run now in a set note here from well for ABC News and one of our former colleagues, long time ABC News corresponding Jim Avola, has passed away at the age of seventy. The network made the announcement yesterday that he'd passed after a long illness.

Speaker 1: Jim joined the network back in two thousand and four, where he'd did just about everything. He was White House correspondent for a while. He served as a twenty twenty correspondent. He got called up to the network after working at k NBC and covering the OJ Simpson trial. I remember when I first came to ABC, I had worked with Jim Avola at NBC, and so I didn't even realize. But you know, when you introduce a reporter and you say ABC's Jamavola is standing by at the White House.

Speaker 3: It's gonna take a minute. It's not gonna get there until sometime in twenty twenty seven. This is the first Blue Origin successful recovery of their booster rocket. This is how they save money. They put these huge rockets that blast these things in the space and then the rocket can come back down and land specifically safely on a platform in the middle of the ocean. Elon has been doing this for a while, we've seen him do it over and over, but this is the first time that Jeff Bezos company Blue Origin has ever pulled this off.

It wasn't manned, there's no one on board, and usually you see that kind of fanfare when people are going up and risking their lives. She immediately put herself between Ariana Grande and this guy and shielded her.

Apparently he didn't meet her any harm. This is a guy who runs an Instagram account in which he does this. He videos himself rushing celebrities at events. That's awful, But we're celebrating Cynthia. If this dude meant ariana grande harm, she would have been harmed. Correct, This is a problem.
