Speaker 2: Yes, and we decided to take a big old birthday work trip. Yes, obviously folks have heard there's a football game taking place on some but yes, we've made our way to the Bay Area for the Super Bowl. We'll be doing plenty of work in coverage and whatnot out here, but the roles. Yes, the game itself, it's been pretty cute. Anyway. We've been to several super Bowls, but it's it's always cool to come into town a couple of days early and see who's there. You see celebrities and see this and that. But the cutest thing we saw was some little kid we rode the elevator with.

Speaker 1: I knew that's what you were going to reference, because look, you get on a plane from New York headed to San Francisco right before the Super Bowl. You got a lot of people coming on with their game gear on. They're excited, a lot of grown adults spending a lot of money to go kind of probably a bucket list moment where they're going to see the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3: But there was what was he six seven years old. I can't believe I just did six seven. I cannot believe I.

Speaker 1: Just said that. That was absolutely a mistake, but he was, let's just go with seven. But he was this cute little boy, and he was all excited, and some folks were talking to in the elevator and he flew all the way to San Francisco to see the Super Bowl and he just had this sweet little smile on his face.

Speaker 2: That was cool. Those moments are great. Yes, it's a celebrity rich environment out here, of course, but those are the moments that still matter the game. Of course, on Sunday happening in Santa Clara. We talked about San Francisco, but the home of the San Francisco forty nine ers is actually in Santa Clara, California. That's happening. The line on it, I think the Seahawks are favored by four and a half points if you're interested in getting involved in the betting at all. But this is a rematch from twenty to fifteen, which is do you remember? No? Okay, I do not. Where was it that one? I can't remember?

So Kid Rock with some country music stars live they are, Yeah, they're trying to go up against the halftime show with that Bunny performing. Speaker 2: For all that Super Bowl related stuff. And yes, we're out here in the area. The big game is on everybody's mind. But Robes the first thing everybody here has wanted to talk to us about. And that's where we're going to start on this morning run having to do with Nanty Guthrie. We are almost a full week since the last time she was known to be seen in Okay, and Robes. There were a number of developments, but not the one that the family certainly wants.

Speaker 1: Yes, there was an arrest, but it wasn't unarrest that had anything to do with the abduction of Nancy Guthrie. They arrested a young man late twenties for trying to basically profit off of this tragedy. He was accused of sending basically a ransom demand via a text message. This was not the ransom note that was sent to the local affiliate here or to TMZ. This was a separate incident that happened after we saw that emotional plea by the Guthrie siblings for any sort of word from a would be kidnappers that they could start talking and negotiating. They wanted proof of life that their mother was alive. Anyway, this young man, according to police, took advantage of that and started demanding cryptocurrency and they were able to arrest him.

Speaker 2: Mean, while we did get it a the plea from the family, this time, it was just the brother, Savannah Guthries's brother that appeared, Cameron in a video short twenty one second clip and as he's essentially pleading, if you have our mother, we need proof that you have her, so we can start this process if it's going to be one, and get our mama home again. It's almost been a full week now the ransom. There was a deadline ropes you pointed out. They posted this video around five o'clock local time, I should say in Tucson. That was the time, at least according to one of the notes. According to police, there was a deadline attached to it. But that deadline, that same note had a five o'clock deadline on Thursday, but then had another deadline for next week as well. So yes, they have said flat out this is not how you do a ransom negotiation. So there's serious doubts about whether or not this is a kidnapping ransom situation at all.

Speaker 1: Yeah, But what they did and what they were able to actually clarify in that late press conference yesterday, was that the blood that we've seen, that several droplets on the front porch of Nancy guthries home outside of her home, they did confron, yes that's blood, and yes that is Nancy Guthrie's blood. So, you know, obviously deeply concerning a lot of folks were already jumping to that conclusion. The police had already told us that inside the home it was a crime scene. It was obvious it was a crime scene. It was gravely concerning, and they were able to actually tell us that they got DNA samples that they were testing that did not point to anyone suspect. They also told us that the cameras, We got a timeline about just the fact that basically they know that the front doorbell camera was disabled at around one forty five in the morning and her pacemakers stopped connecting with that Wi Fi about forty five minutes later.

Speaker 2: We are expecting to hear anything else from the sheriff out there. Did not have another press briefing scheduled at all, said he will only start scheduling those with there as a major development to report, so we will stay on top of that. Continuing on the run here on this Friday morning. Awful story out of LA and they're saying this was just an awful, unfortunate accident, but three people are dead, another six were injured when a ninety two year old driver, according to police, lost control of her car. She hit a bicyclist and then the car continued for a little while longer and she crashed into a grocery store and ropes. It's in the grocery store where the deaths occurred.

Speaker 1: It's this is such an awful scene. In fact, someone who was there and actually saw it happened told a local reporter that when this ninety two year old driver initially hit that bicyclist, you would imagine she would come to a screeching halt, right, But instead of hitting the brake, she said, the car massively accelerated. So it's one of those cases where instead of hitting the brake in a panic, it looks like she may have hit the gas and that crashed her into that grocery store where she killed. So she yeah, she continued another block and she killed three people who were in standing in line in the bakery, and several were trapped under her car.

Speaker 1: Injured, some of them significantly in critical condition in the hospital right now. And among the dead, it wasn't the bike, it was the folks there in the grocery store.

But the clock is ticking again on what a government shutdown. This one's very partial, even more partial than the last one, and it's very specific to one department they're talking about.

Speaker 2: They could just shut down the Department of Homeland Security, and a lot of people might applaud that.

Speaker 1: I was going to say, isn't that probably what the hope is by some folks, that this would literally defund the Department of Homeland Security, defund ICE agents. But the bottom line, the Democrats want some restrictions on how ICE agents and Border patrol agents operate. The problem is those demands, according to Republicans, went from about a list of three to a list of ten. They claim they're completely unrealistic, which means the Democrats aren't serious about actually negotiating. This is what the Republicans are all saying. They called the deal to reach a deal on the changes that Democrats want to make was quote unquote an impossibility by the time the deadline reaches. So it's headed for a complete shutdown of funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

Speaker 2: And it happens on Valientime's day. No no better time. Yes, I continue going on the run here now. A lot of people keep an eye on it, trying to figure out what's going on. It happens, right. Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, and bitcoin, however, this one is concerning to people. We have watched bitcoin go up and down through its lifetime, but it has now lost half of its value since October. Half of its value. This was the soul called Trump bump when he was coming back into office and then he seemed to be at least talking about cryptocurrency, and there was a Trump bump. All that's gone. Everybody who made that money from that Trump bump, it's all gone. It had a high in October, but that's half of the value is now gone. Robes and they're trying to figure out what happened. This happens all the time with cryptocurrency. Is just that this one hit kind of a magic number that they say, wait, if it goes below this right, dump it.

Speaker 1: Yes, And there are companies struggling you who have lost half their value. There are people who have lost millions and millions and millions of dollars. It is starting to take a little bit of an upswing. This morning, they were noticing that hopefully that's a sign that maybe it's the it has bled out as much as it's going to at least right now. So it's back up to sixty six thousand right now as of this recording. But certainly this is deeply concerning to folks who have invested heavily in cryptocurrencies and look, including the Trump's sons. They have a whole it's called the American Bitcoin or whatever. But yeah, it's all spiraled in the direction they didn't want it to go, all.

And here's the catch, though, this is for people who are paying out of pocket. You cannot these drugs are not available. These discounts are not available if you're trying to pay through insurance. So they're saying this is for folks who are paying out of pocket, who are paying cash, but there are significant discounts. And right now, they say, okay, we might only have a few dozen drugs right now, but they say many, many, many more drugs are coming soon, so to check it often. And yes, this is great for folks who didn't have financial access to some of these medications.

The MVP happens to play for the Rams and Matthew Stafford the quarterback there. But this was one of the closest races they have seen since two thousand and three when there was a tie I believe actually, but the vote tally, Matthew Stafford got three hundred and sixty six total votes. The second place guy, Drake Mayth, quarterback for the Patriots, got three hundred and sixty one. That's really really close race. But he got up there, accepted the award and said he will be back next year. There was questions about whether or not he would come back and where he would play if he did come back. But now he made that announcement, so good for him.

And they's just a different type of respect to competition here that I appreciate.

So yes, they have said flat out this is not how you do a ransom negotiation. So there's serious doubts about whether or not this is a kidnapping ransom situation at all.

Speaker 1: Yeah, But what they did and what they were able to actually clarify in that late press conference yesterday, was that the blood that we've seen, that several droplets on the front porch of Nancy guthries home outside of her home, they did confron, yes that's blood, and yes that is Nancy Guthrie's blood. So, you know, obviously deeply concerning a lot of folks were already jumping to that conclusion. The police had already told us that inside the home it was a crime scene. It was obvious it was a crime scene. It was gravely concerning, and they were able to actually tell us that they got DNA samples that they were testing that did not point to anyone suspect. They also told us that the cameras, We got a timeline about just the fact that basically they know that the front doorbell camera was disabled at around one forty five in the morning and her pacemakers stopped connecting with that Wi Fi about forty five minutes later.

Awful story out of LA and they're saying this was just an awful, unfortunate accident, but three people are dead, another six were injured when a ninety two year old driver, according to police, lost control of her car. She hit a bicyclist and then the car continued for a little while longer and she crashed into a grocery store and ropes. It's in the grocery store where the deaths occurred.

In fact, someone who was there and actually saw it happened told a local reporter that when this ninety two year old driver initially hit that bicyclist, you would imagine she would come to a screeching halt, right, But instead of hitting the brake, she said, the car massively accelerated. So it's one of those cases where instead of hitting the brake in a panic, it looks like she may have hit the gas and that crashed her into that grocery store where she killed. So she yeah, she continued another block and she killed three people who were in standing in line in the bakery, and several were trapped under her car.

But the bottom line, the Democrats want some restrictions on how ICE agents and Border patrol agents operate. The problem is those demands, according to Republicans, went from about a list of three to a list of ten. They claim they're completely unrealistic, which means the Democrats aren't serious about actually negotiating. This is what the Republicans are all saying. They called the deal to reach a deal on the changes that Democrats want to make was quote unquote an impossibility by the time the deadline reaches. So it's headed for a complete shutdown of funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

Speaker 2: And it happens on Valientime's day. No no better time. Yes, I continue going on the run here now. A lot of people keep an eye on it, trying to figure out what's going on. It happens, right. Cryptocurrencies are very volatile, and bitcoin, however, this one is concerning to people. We have watched bitcoin go up and down through its lifetime, but it has now lost half of its value since October. Half of its value. This was the soul called Trump bump when he was coming back into office and then he seemed to be at least talking about cryptocurrency, and there was a Trump bump. All that's gone. Everybody who made that money from that Trump bump, it's all gone. It had a high in October, but that's half of the value is now gone. Robes and they're trying to figure out what happened. This happens all the time with cryptocurrency. Is just that this one hit kind of a magic number that they say, wait, if it goes below this right, dump it.

It is starting to take a little bit of an upswing. This morning, they were noticing that hopefully that's a sign that maybe it's the it has bled out as much as it's going to at least right now. But certainly this is deeply concerning to folks who have invested heavily in cryptocurrencies and look, including the Trump's sons. They have a whole it's called the American Bitcoin or whatever. But yeah, it's all spiraled in the direction they didn't want it to go, all.

And right now, they say, okay, we might only have a few dozen drugs right now, but they say many, many, many more drugs are coming soon, so to check it often. And yes, this is great for folks who didn't have financial access to some of these medications.
