Speaker 1: Yes, And we're going to be stuck in this for several more days. And they're talking about another potential nor'easter that's coming. We'll get into that, but good morning to you. Also, glad you could be here. You will also hear a story this morning that robe you just pointed out to me. It is, without question, the craziest recall I have ever heard in my life.

But certainly the story we're listening to. Also on the run this morning, we're gonna make stops in Fairfax, Virginia, New York City, Switzerland, North Carolina, Minneapolis, and Maine. But we have to start in DC. We got a deal with thirty hours to spare. At least they didn't take it up to the last second. Right there you go, Yes, with thirty hours to spare. Senate Democrats made a deal with the President to make a deal later. All they did was kick this can robes down the road a little further one more time.

So this deal funds most of the government through the end of the fiscal year that's in September, and would give the Department of Homeland Security two weeks of funding while lawmakers continue to negotiate placing those restrictions they want on federal immigration agents in the wake of this Minneapolis crisis. So the deal, here's the problem, most certainly will not get done by the deadline tonight. Tonight's midnight dea line. While senators say, hey, we're going to be able to pass this legislation today Friday, the House they don't return to DC until Monday. So that's the soonest it could reach President Trump's desk to sign.

Speaker 1: Madness, So we're gonna shut down, But it's a planned one and anticipate it to only be short. Is that what you're telling Yes, Yeah, So the funding is going to lapse for several agencies starting at midnight tonight. But as long as everything goes okay on Monday and get this thing buttoned up, we should be okay. Most federal workers don't work on the weekends anyway, so they're saying this impact should be minimal. But until it's done, roads, we might as well hold our breath. We're living in crazy times.

Speaker 1: Our president is suing his own administration, the president of the United States. Yes, it's suing the IRS, an agency that's under his Treasury Department right now. He suing, along with his sons Donald Trump Junior and Eric Trump, as well as the Trump Organization, suing the IRS for ten billion dollars. The lawsuit claimed that the IRS and the Treasury Department failed quote in their duty to safeguard and protect plaintiff's confidential tax returns.

Speaker 2: And because of that, the government, Trump says, caused him and his sons reputational and financial harm, public embarrassment, unfairly tarnished their business reputations, portrayed them in a false light, and negatively affected President Trump and the other plaintiffs standing.

In twenty twenty three, a former IRS contractor pleaded guilty to stealing President Trump's secret tax information, and we should say, along with thousands of the wealthiest Americans tax records, including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. So he admitted to doing all of this. But then this former IRS contractor leaked that information to news outlets leading up to the twenty twenty elections. The contractor was sentenced to five years in prison. The New York Times end up publishing an article with that tax information, reporting that Trump only paid seven hundred and fifty dollars in federal income taxes in twenty sixteen and twenty seventeen. Certainly became a big story leading up to the election. At the time, though, Trump called the story fake news and said the information had been illegally obtained, but now he wants ten billion dollars. Basically, I guess from.

Speaker 1: Taxpayers, we have you seen this. I'm just the legal question here. It's his treasury department. Can he direct his treasury department to settle the case with him and give him money. He's suing himself and he's in charge of both entities.

Speaker 1: But okay, yeah, who knows the legal question there? That's is strange times. As we say, I continue on the run here. Now we heard from borders our Tom Homan that border patrol agents will be drawing down in Minneapolis. Yes, we heard that from him first. And now we're hearing from Senator Susan Collins that immigration officials have also ceased their enhanced operations in Maine after making more than two hundred arrest over the past week. Senator Collins announced the news after she said she spoke directly with Homeland Security Secretary Christine No.

Speaker 2: Yeah. The senator went on to say, there are currently no ongoing or planned large scale ice operations here, meaning in the state of Maine. And you know what, this is a huge shift because if you remember just last week, it was a big announcement Maine the ice operations in Maine called Catch of the Day. They said that they were going after fourteen hundred operational targets. But it looks like in the wake of all that's happened, there is now a shift in the other direction when it comes to immigration.

Next up on the run, this morning's bomb cyclone path is now becoming clearer, and it is not good news for the Carolinas and for a lot of folks in the South. Meteorologists are growing more and more confident that a massive winter storm they've called it an or reester, they've called it a bomb cyclone, they've called it a blizzard. But they say this will bring blizzard like conditions to several southern states. And it all begins to nice.

Speaker 1: Call it what you want, It all sucks. The storm forms with snow along the Tennessee North Carolina border. By Saturday, that snow, it's going to spread the Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia. Yes, lizard like conditions are possible. They're talking up to a foot and maybe in some places more than that of snow. And we're talking about the North Carolina coast here. They're expected to get the worst of it. They've already declared emergencies there. And again, all of these places are still not quite we haven't thought out, nobody's thought out. Nope, So we're about to get hit again. Now to the northeast. This is what you were talking about. The meteorologists are starting to feel better, but for the past couple of days they're like, oh, if it goes a little west New York, the area is going to get it again. Looks like we're going to be spared. Is that?

They're all the ways we're used to hearing about, but don't think of necessarily. Yes, you got your accidents out there with cars, but snowplow accidents, sledding accidents, and then the carbon monoxide poisoning. We did one of those, and then just the cold hypothermia.

That's significant, all right. Next up on the run, closing arguments will begin this morning. In the O Pair affair double murder trial. We obviously if you listen to our feed, you know we have been obsessed with this trial, watched it pretty much every minute of every day. Testimony wropped late yesterday, the jury got to hear directly from the man accused of killing his wife and another man in an elaborate BDSM catfishing scheme with his O pair and lover. Former IRS agent forty year old Brandon Banfield testified he did not conspire with his O pair and lover, Juliana Perez Machal's, to commit this double murder. Under cross examination, Banfield admitted to being in love with the O pair after testifying that she was just another affair that would never risen to the level of wanting to kill his wife now.

Speaker 1: He wrapped his testimony yesterday, and it was probably one of the most anticipated lines of questioning was the cross examination of Brendan Banfield, which, depending on what side you know what it probably flip a coin or call it even I don't think it helped him a great deal or hurt him necessarily a great deal, but there were several uncomfortable moments robes during the redirection in which he had to talk about his wife, and he talked about her being into role playing BDSM, that she had had previous affairs, one of them resulted in her having significant bruising on her body, another resultant in a guy stalking her. So the point they were trying to make is, hey, this whole fetish website, y'all saying Brendan Banfield set up to get this guy over. She was the one, in all likelihood that was into that kind of stuff. So it was just uncomfortable. And that woman's dead and you're never having to be talked about this way. Was uncomfortable to hear. Prosecution had two rebuttal witnesses that seem to fall flat. But the other highlight yesterday rolls a headline, I should say the old pair after all this bye, she can go home free. Woman, get out of jail free.

Speaker 2: Even though she said she killed Joe Ryan, she actually they believe fired the fatal shot that killed him. But because she testified against her ex lover, Brendan Manfield, she got a basically a get out of jail free card.

A Minnesota mana has been charged with impersonating an FBIA to try and break out accused murderer Luigi Mangioni from federal prison. Thirty five year old Mark Anderson was arrested yesterday at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, convenient after he was claiming that he was an FBI agent in possession of paperwork signed by a judge authorizing the release of yes, Luigi Mangioni. When prison workers asked us he has credentials, he showed him his Minnesota driver's license and then said I have weapons, okay.

Yeah, the irony he is there with mang MANGIONI is facing Georges from murdering United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson December of twenty twenty four. He has a hearing in federal court today. Actually, we are waiting a judge's ruling on whether prosecutors can seek the death penalty and whether certain evidence can be used against him in trial ropes. Again, he has two. It's hard to keep up. He has two, a state and federal, and kind of the attorneys are going after making the same arguments in both of them. It's hard to keep them straight from times.

And next up on the run, a big win for American gymnast Jordan Chiles in her fight to reclaim her bronze medal win from the twenty twenty fourth Summer Olympics. I say her bronze medal win. It was short lived, but she was granted an appeal from the Swiss Federal Supreme Court yesterday. And this is a big deal because now the Court of Arbitration for Sport, we'll have to consider video evidence that surfaced that shows that USA Gymnasts show or USA Gymnastics shows will prove that Chiles's coach made an inquiry into her score well within the one minute requirement.

Speaker 1: So this should be an open and shutcase. She is now essentially getting to present evidence that she wasn't allowed to present before. That evidence is clear, we're told even though we haven't seen it. You remember the story. She finished fifth on floor exercise, her coach made an appeal about her score, and she won the appeal, so she gets the bronze medal. But then the poor little Romanians came back and they took it to court. They took Jordan Childs's medal from her, and so that's why we landed in this place. Look, Roades, I actually don't know. I was looking for physically. Where physically is that medal because they gave one to the other young lady.

So my two cents on that would be that she kept it, she didn't mail it back, and now she just wants it to be honored as officially hers.

We just know it. That massive and disgusting recall to tell you all about gold Star distribution. You've seen that label. I know it from gummy Bears, etc. But you've seen that label. It is recalling nearly two thousand different types of food products due to the presence of rodent and bird contamination. We're talking about food, candy, beauty products, pet food. The FDA determined that gold Star facility in Minneapolis was operating under quote insanitary conditions. Is that unsanitary conditions, including the presence of rodent excreta, rodent urine, and bird droppings. The agency went on to say that exposure to these contaminated products could cause illnesses like salmonella, lots of different bacterial diseases. It's disgusting and concerning.

But this is such an extensive recall, there's no way we can start giving you. You have got to go online. If you're in Indiana, Minnesota, North Dakota, we promise you one of several of multiples of these products are in your kitchens right now.
