That is impressive, truly, Italy right behind them eight gold medals, twenty three medals overall, USA coming in number three with six gold medals, nineteen overall, the Netherlands six gold medals as well, twelve total, and Austria five gold medals and fifteen overall medals.

Speaker 3: And certainly what is always a highlight of the Olympics, but it was certainly a highlight for us yesterday the pairs figure skating gold was handed out yesterday in Roges.

But Roase, we begin with that breaking news, the passing of civil rights icon Jesse Jackson. We did hear from the family overnight. Really, we got this just after we woke up. When we were up this morning three four am. News had not gotten out, But then it did come and we heard from his family. Always a nice note, Rope when we see that. Just I don't know, as this always makes me feel good when I read passed surrounded by family.

Speaker 1: That's right, And they put out this statement. Our father was a servant leader not only to our family, but to the oppressed the voiceless and the overlooked around the world.

Speaker 1: They said, we shared him with the world, and in return, the world became a part of our extended family. I thought that was a beautiful way to put it. Now, there was no official cause if death listed, but we do know that he suffered from numerous health issues. Most recently, we know he had progressive super nuclear palsy, which affects and it affected his ability to walk and to swallow. And we also know he had Parkinson's. He announced it in twenty seventeen, but we believe he was diagnosed around twenty fifteen. Of course, he worked alongside Martin Luther King Junior. He was there at that motel in Memphis when k was assassinated back in nineteen sixty eight. He went on to found Push and the Rainbow Push coalition. Of course, many people know he had two runs for president near like very impressive runs, we should point out, in nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty eight, and certainly paved the way for the first Black American president, Barack Obama.

Speaker 3: And he was there on that night in Chicago when that speech was made. Graham Parks crying like a baby. And there was so much history, decades of it to think that was what two thousand and eight he was. He was on that balcony in nineteen sixty eight, that gap of time for him to get to that moment, that was a lifetime to see that moment happen. So he has survived by his wife and five kids. They are telling us we to be determined, but they said the remembrances and the public observances will be held in Chicago. Time to be determined, all right.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, some big developments in the missing Nancy Guthrie case. The Pima County Sheriff's Office a fish has cleared the Guthrie family and he made this announcement on X and made it very clear.

Speaker 1: Family, to include all siblings and spouses, has been cleared as possible suspects in this case. He says that the family has been cooperative and gracious and our victims. Also admonished some members of the media, saying, I am begging you to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism. He was, of course, referencing those reports that came out that potentially Savannah Guthrie's brother in law could have been a prime suspect, completely refuting that and in fact saying all of those members are innocent.

Speaker 3: Yeah, they did give it. As an update as well about DNA and the number of tips. They're up to forty or fifty thousand tips that they said have come in. They are checking DNA that has been found in a glove that was found near the home. Also got an update. They're using something called a signal sniffer. They're trying to fly around at very low altitudes in a helicopter to try to pick up a signal, possibly from Nancy Guthries pace maker and also Rhodes. We hear once again TMZ still get notes and now not just getting notes, but trying to possibly negotiate with a person sending them email saying they know who the kit napper or kit nappers are.

But next up on the run, and speaking of continuing to develop, we're still talking about Jeffrey Epstein in the fallout from people who knew him and worked with him, and the next person to fall the chairman of Hyatt. He is stepping down because of his ties to Epstein. That latest dump of Epstein files revealed more about the close relationship between Tom Pritzker and Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaker 3: And I should note here he's not accused of anything criminal in all these but some bad judgment that he himself has said he had.

Speaker 3: Good stewardship also means protecting Hyatt, particularly in the context of my association with Jeffrey Epstein and Gallaine Maxwell, which I deeply regret. I exercised terrible judgment in maintaining contact with him, and there is no exc used for failing to distance myself sooner. He is just one of the latest. Jeffrey Epstein touched so many powerful people in powerful places, with some of the biggest names and brands, from from Harvard to Hyatt and everything in between. And we've continued I'm fascinated by Jeffrey Epstein, even more so now people are falling still because of a relationship they had with this guy. And these are some of the big This is a billionaire running Hyatt.

Speaker 1: Oh yes, and just the latest and in many that we've seen around the world, by the way, not just here in this country. All right next up on the run, some sad news out of Rhode Island. Two people are dead, three others are in critical condition after a shooting at a high school hockey match in Rhode Island. This happened in Pawtucket, Rhode Island for reference, has just outside of Providence, Rhode Island.

Speaker 3: Yeah, they're telling us this was not a or supposed to be at least a mass shooting event, always important, they say. Instead, this was a targeted incident that they believe had to do with a family dispute.

But they do, and they did, I should say, identify the shooter that they said police say was who did die of a self inflicted wound, identified as Robert Dorgan, but also the police mentioned also goes by ROBERTA.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run, Anderson Cooper We Got Word, is leaving sixty Minutes after two decades with the program. He had been juggling his role as a correspondent on that program along with, of course, his anchor duties at CNN, and he was doing the double duty, so to speak, since two thousand and six. By the way, he is continuing his role at CNN, and as far as the reason why he says he is stepping down, his official statement reads, for nearly twenty years, I've been able to balance my jobs at CNN and CBS, but I have little kids now and I want to spend as much time with them as possible while they still want to spend time. He says, being a correspondent at sixty Minutes has been one of the great honors of my career.

Speaker 3: And CBS showed love to him as well. Now, normally this wouldn't be the biggest deal in the world, but of course it'll raise an eyebri or two given what has gone on in sixty Minutes with President Trump over the past couple of years, and also what's happening at CBS here of lately, where there have been a lot of changes at that network, a lot of people are leaving, including some turnover at sixty minutes where they never have turnover. So now you're seeing one of the most high profile journalists in the country at this moment deciding, yeah, I'll step back. Look, I'll take him at his word, and I think those reasons are legit.

Speaker 3: It's always a good time of your I didn't realize his film debut was To Kill a Mockingbird Jesus. That wow, pretty good start. But of course Godfather, that series he was known for. The Apocalypse Now was the other big one. A lot of tributes have been coming in, certainly from some of the biggest named legends that he worked with, Paccino de Naro, Francis Ford Coppola. But the great statement we got from his wife and I told you about this line, and it got me thinking about my own life when she said it, she said, to the world he was an Academy Award winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything.

That's not one that got an oscar attention. But he played the head of this car stealing crew with Angelina Julie and Nicholas Cage. Someone wrote about him he brought kind of a moral compass to some gritty roles. A lot of these things. He was with the bad guys, but he was kind of their moral compass. He was a guide in some way, just like Godfather, and like in Gone in sixty Seconds, it was his thing. He's rough and gruff. What was his character in for Christmas?

After two straight years at being number one in every single competition. Will he posted a video showing himself winning gold at several of those previous competitions, but interspersed. It was cut in between with black and white video of him upset with his hand in his head, his head in his hands, sorry, and the caption to the video reads this, on the world's biggest stage, those who appear the strongest may still be fighting invisible battles on the inside. Even your happiest memories can end up tainted by the noise. Vile online hatred attacks the mind, and fear lures it into darkness. No matter how hard you try to stay sane through the endless, insurmountable pressure, it all builds up as these moments flash before your eyes, resulting in an inevitable, inevitable crash. This is that version of the story. I think he's trying to explain the darkness and how we all see this guy who is just crushing it and showing that there are moments of deep despair and insecurity.

By the way, he is continuing his role at CNN, and as far as the reason why he says he is stepping down, his official statement reads, for nearly twenty years, I've been able to balance my jobs at CNN and CBS, but I have little kids now and I want to spend as much time with them as possible while they still want to spend time.
