Legs are going to take us to Columbus, Ohio, Saint Paul, Minnesota, Caracas, Venezuela, Washington, d C. Paris, France, and the Northern District of Illinois, all of those places will be on our run today, but we do begin right here in New York Robes where it was a historic day, but it was a day of development. And it was really bizarre to watch live pictures of the president of Venezuela being driven around and flown around Manhattan.

Speaker 1: Yeah, bizarre, surreal, you name it, aust did. Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and his wife both pleaded not guilty yesterday. Emphatically. They added some extra words there to four counts against them. Completely innocent, I think, is what Celia said. But they're facing narco terrorism charges, drug and weapons charges. This all happened in federal court in Lower Manhattan. We had demonstrators outside pro Maduro, pro Trump, competing factions, but it was quite the scene here in New York.

Speaker 2: It was a scene outside, like you mentioned, it was the scene inside, and this might be an issue. They were speaking in Spanish, so the judge couldn't right. He's got the headset on, so he's hearing the interpretation. He couldn't jump in and interrupt them quickly enough. So they got to say more than normally a defendant and an arrangement will be able to say. But yes, Maduro actually declared I am a decent man in addition to being an innocent man. Now, no bail has been set, no bill has been requested, but we do expect that to come later. The next court date is not until March seventeenth, so as of this moment, at least, they will sit in the MDC formerly the home of Glene Maxwell, formerly the home of Sean Diitty Combs sit in that prison until otherwise.

Meanwhile, Republican and Democratic lawmakers were briefed privately yesterday by the administration about a two hour briefing. We're told about the operation in Venezuela.

Speaker 1: And guess what they emerged out of that meeting as well. We've all come to know and expect. Democrats said the operation was illegal, They want more answers. Republicans said the president did what he had to do. So Democratic senators now planned to vote or to force a vote this week on a bill that would limit President Trump's war powers. This was in effect before the Venezuela situation even occurred, so they were already going down this path that was probably leading to nowhere before this even occurred. So yeah, good luck with that, because we can't even get our government funded. Because January thirty, if you remember that government shut down, the largest one in history, that we kept talking about this fall, we're right back where we started because yes, in just a few weeks it's all going to happen again.

Speaker 2: We are on the clock once again for a shutdown. I don't think the Democrats necessarily have the stomach to do that all over again and to force it. But the point was to delay so we could get it done. Is it going to get done? Who knows. Continuing on the run here now, Augus head down to Caracas, where, yes, Delse Rodriguez is the new president of Venezuela. She was formerly sworn in yesterday during the opening session of that country's National Assembly. Now, according to President Trump and the White House, they are going to get in line. She doesn't have a choice. They even the threat right she might have a fate worse than Maduro's if she doesn't get in line. But she had a little more of a defiant tone yesterday and even said that the president and first Lady of her country were kidnapped by the United States, but officially they have another leader, but we are not quite sure who's in charge.

Speaker 1: And I'm reading this correctly. She called Maduro and his wife heroes. Okay, that is interesting language. We'll see how the White House reacts to all of that, or if they follow through their threats. All right. Next up on the run, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is hoping to punish Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly. We all remember the video that Senator Kelly and a few other members or former members of the Armed Services put out telling members current members of US forces that they do not have to do anything illegal, that it is their right to refuse illegal orders. They put out this video, and because of that video, well, that upset Pete Hegseth, President Trump, etc. He actually seditious exactly was the word they used, and he announced Petexseth announced that he is formally introducing a letter of censure into Mark Kelly's permanent file. But that's not it he's also starting a process to demote Kelly from his retirement rank of captain that would have his retirement pay reduced. That is certainly a very specific punishment that he is issuing too and really hitting him in the pocketbook.

Speaker 2: It just seems so personal and it seems retaliatory in a way that's unnecessary. But fine, they're going about this Senator Kelly, who has been outspoken throughout this. He's not necessarily known. It's being the most the most fiery guy, I mean, a level headed This was always the guy people looked at. He would make a good president. He's not too.

Speaker 2: He has come out swinging as they've come after him, and he vowed to fight on and fight any demotion and fight the censure. But this quote from him robes I appreciate it. Quote. I commanded a Space Shuttle mission while my wife Gabby recovered from a gunshot wound to the head, all while probably wearing the American flag on my shoulder. Oh shut uh. This is one guy we shouldn't challenge on patriotism.

The fight will not continue in Minnesota, however, for the governor there, Tim Waltz, he announced yesterday he is dropping out of the race, dropping his reelection bid. He was going for a third term there, but as you've been seeing in the news, he has been dogged by this fraud scandal involving billions of dollars. So he can't shake that. Says he's getting out of the way, letting somebody else move forward. But this what a fall? Well, I say, but this guy was one night away from being the Vice president of the United States, and now it seems here we are how many months is this later that his political career is possibly over? What is he going to do after not being governor of Minnesota? So this could be it for him, but just kind of stunning to see.

Speaker 1: Yeah, and for him to have to step out amid these fraud allegations and charges, not just allegations, but certainly people have been held responsible for it. Not that he was personally responsible for it, but he was the guy where the buck stops here. And so when you have to walk away given that, it's tough, as Cuomo found out here in New York, it's tough to rebuild a political career when you end it the way this one is ending, all right. Next up on the Run, a man was arrested for vandalism as at Vice President J. D. Vance's Ohio home. He broke four windows of the house. The guy is a twenty six year old William Defour. Thankfully no one was home at the time, but Vance said, as far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows. Look, this is thanks concerning. We are seeing this more and more and more people upset at policy, at rhetoric, and feel somehow motivated in this political climate to take physical action. It's scary stuff you have to take.

Speaker 2: This isn't petty or random. We have seen very scary come out. We'll stay in Ohio. Here with an update on the double murder there of an Ohio couple. This was the couple whose kids one and four year old were left in the house unharmed as the parents were murdered. Spencer and Monique Tepi are the names. They were killed on December thirty. It's both shot well. The police have been asking for help because they essentially robed. It seems like have nothing because they believe the killing happened between two and five in the morning, most people are sleep, so they're asking for surveillance videos. Everybody check your cameras where They've released one video and doesn't show a lot, But it's someone who is wearing a dark hooded top with the hood on, walking with their hands in their pockets. It's in an alley near where this couple lived, and they're asking anybody to possibly identify this person of entance. But you can't see the faith, You can't see much of anything make you recognize how the person walks. But they are desperate for some answers here.

Speaker 1: This is some scary stuff because the initial speculation was there was no sign of forced entry, the kids were alive and well, but to know that they were found, they did say both Monique and Spencer were found upstairs on the top level of their home. So somebody went in up into their bedroom, I believe, is what they've said. So that is a much more menacing scenario than thinking about them opening the door maybe and having someone surprise them or rush them. There are so many questions. This is just a really disturbing story here.

Speaker 1: Now, all right, next up on the run. The CDC has made what's being widely referred to as an unprecedented and even dangerous change to the childhood vaccine schedule. Here's the bottom line. The United States is no longer recommending as many vaccines for kids, and I'm talking about a lot from eighteen recommended vaccines to now just eleven. And this goes into effect immediately. The administration is saying that we need more and better science, and they say that this move will restore public trust that was lost during the pandemic because of the COVID vaccines, which saved millions of lives. That's a confusing statement in and of itself.

Speaker 2: No, no, no, it makes sense. And what you're saying is exactly the sentiment of so many people in the medical community. And they're calling this latest move a bunch of bs as well, not just bs, but they say it's dangerous. You haven't shown us, you haven't proven why these things should not be recommended. Now. Vaccines now are going to be in three categories. The vaccines that are recommended for all children, the vaccine scenes that are recommended for high risk groups, and then vaccines that are only based on the decision you have with your doctor. So hepatitis A B no longer recommended, flu vaccine no longer recommended, RSV no longer recommended. Now, they claim, parents, this is giving you more choice because you can now go to your doctor have this discussion and insurance will still cover, is what they're telling us. Now, that is the point. They're saying, you can still get them. As a parent. The problem roads is the confusion that your government comes out and says we don't even recommend that you get this vaccine for your child anymore. That's going to lead to some confusion and possibly kids not getting vaccinated, and then possibly well you know where that is.

Speaker 1: And the big argument is that you cannot say that once a government stops recommending a vaccine that insurance companies are now going to pay for it. That's the problem. They say, it gives you choice, but the big fear is that it's going to limit it significantly for financial reasons. And speaking of the flu shot no longer being recommended, well, the CDC is saying that the flu is surging this season in a way unseen in the past thirty years. Look my dad, who's a microbiologist, every year, and it happened again this year. Yes, constant barrage of texts, please get your flu shot, Please get your flu shot. So for the week following Christmas, eight point two percent of outpatient visits were for flu like symptoms.

Speaker 2: I didn't have a perspective any context for that number, but eight point two percent is the highest percentage they have seen since nineteen ninety seven. Ninety seven is when they first started keeping up with this particular statistics. So we have the highest rate of flu like admissions or outpatient visits to the hospital than we have ever seen. Wow, that's where we are.

But one big note. You might know the name Pete Carroll, legendary USC coach, wan to title, even a super Bowl with the Seahawks.

What are they arguing. Their argument is that McDonald's has been misleading us all for thirty years by suggesting that the McRib has rib meat in it. The lawsuit is saying it's not made of real meat, real rib meat. They're saying that the meat comes from other parts of the pig, and that is why there's a lawsuit.

McDonald's of course defending themselves saying they are distorting the facts with this lawsuit and the claims are inaccurate. If you don't know, folks, the mcgrib was introduced back in nineteen eighty one. This is how it's described if you don't know from the official McDonald's website. The mcgrib starts with seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy barbecue sauce, topped with slippered onions and tangy pickles, all served nod toasted homestyle bun. When everything combined, you have barbecue pork sandwich perfection, and you would agree, love that sandwich. And you know, not ever once in life did I think this was a slab of ribs on my sandwich. Exactly once did I ever think, hmm, this is some tasty rib meat, just like my granddaddy used to make in the backyard on the smoking No, it's pork. It's pork of some kind. Yeah, fine, stop, this is what we do. Who was harmed?

They added some extra words there to four counts against them. Completely innocent, I think, is what Celia said. But they're facing narco terrorism charges, drug and weapons charges. This all happened in federal court in Lower Manhattan. We had demonstrators outside pro Maduro, pro Trump, competing factions, but it was quite the scene here in New York.

He's got the headset on, so he's hearing the interpretation. He couldn't jump in and interrupt them quickly enough. Now, no bail has been set, no bill has been requested, but we do expect that to come later. The next court date is not until March seventeenth, so as of this moment, at least, they will sit in the MDC formerly the home of Glene Maxwell, formerly the home of Sean Diitty Combs sit in that prison until otherwise.

She was formerly sworn in yesterday during the opening session of that country's National Assembly. Now, according to President Trump and the White House, they are going to get in line. She doesn't have a choice. They even the threat right she might have a fate worse than Maduro's if she doesn't get in line. But she had a little more of a defiant tone yesterday and even said that the president and first Lady of her country were kidnapped by the United States, but officially they have another leader, but we are not quite sure who's in charge.

We'll see how the White House reacts to all of that, or if they follow through their threats. All right. Next up on the run, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is hoping to punish Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly. We all remember the video that Senator Kelly and a few other members or former members of the Armed Services put out telling members current members of US forces that they do not have to do anything illegal, that it is their right to refuse illegal orders. They put out this video, and because of that video, well, that upset Pete Hegseth, President Trump, etc. He actually seditious exactly was the word they used, and he announced Petexseth announced that he is formally introducing a letter of censure into Mark Kelly's permanent file. But that's not it he's also starting a process to demote Kelly from his retirement rank of captain that would have his retirement pay reduced. That is certainly a very specific punishment that he is issuing too and really hitting him in the pocketbook.

Says he's getting out of the way, letting somebody else move forward. But this what a fall? Well, I say, but this guy was one night away from being the Vice president of the United States, and now it seems here we are how many months is this later that his political career is possibly over? What is he going to do after not being governor of Minnesota? So this could be it for him, but just kind of stunning to see.

Next up on the Run, a man was arrested for vandalism as at Vice President J. D. Vance's Ohio home. He broke four windows of the house. The guy is a twenty six year old William Defour. Thankfully no one was home at the time, but Vance said, as far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows. Look, this is thanks concerning. We are seeing this more and more and more people upset at policy, at rhetoric, and feel somehow motivated in this political climate to take physical action. It's scary stuff you have to take.

This was the couple whose kids one and four year old were left in the house unharmed as the parents were murdered. Spencer and Monique Tepi are the names. They were killed on December thirty. It's both shot well. The police have been asking for help because they essentially robed. It seems like have nothing because they believe the killing happened between two and five in the morning, most people are sleep, so they're asking for surveillance videos. Everybody check your cameras where They've released one video and doesn't show a lot, But it's someone who is wearing a dark hooded top with the hood on, walking with their hands in their pockets. It's in an alley near where this couple lived, and they're asking anybody to possibly identify this person of entance. But you can't see the faith, You can't see much of anything make you recognize how the person walks. But they are desperate for some answers here.

Speaker 1: This is some scary stuff because the initial speculation was there was no sign of forced entry, the kids were alive and well, but to know that they were found, they did say both Monique and Spencer were found upstairs on the top level of their home. So somebody went in up into their bedroom, I believe, is what they've said. So that is a much more menacing scenario than thinking about them opening the door maybe and having someone surprise them or rush them. There are so many questions. This is just a really disturbing story here.

Speaker 1: Now, all right, next up on the run. The CDC has made what's being widely referred to as an unprecedented and even dangerous change to the childhood vaccine schedule. Here's the bottom line. The United States is no longer recommending as many vaccines for kids, and I'm talking about a lot from eighteen recommended vaccines to now just eleven. And this goes into effect immediately. The administration is saying that we need more and better science, and they say that this move will restore public trust that was lost during the pandemic because of the COVID vaccines, which saved millions of lives. That's a confusing statement in and of itself.

Vaccines now are going to be in three categories. The vaccines that are recommended for all children, the vaccine scenes that are recommended for high risk groups, and then vaccines that are only based on the decision you have with your doctor. So hepatitis A B no longer recommended, flu vaccine no longer recommended, RSV no longer recommended. Now, they claim, parents, this is giving you more choice because you can now go to your doctor have this discussion and insurance will still cover, is what they're telling us. Now, that is the point. They're saying, you can still get them. As a parent. The problem roads is the confusion that your government comes out and says we don't even recommend that you get this vaccine for your child anymore. That's going to lead to some confusion and possibly kids not getting vaccinated, and then possibly well you know where that is.

So for the week following Christmas, eight point two percent of outpatient visits were for flu like symptoms.
