Speaker 2: All right, but we begin our run in our nation's capital. Yes, last night's State of the Union was in fact the longest in history, one hour and forty nine minutes, and the President beat his own record, which he said last year with a one hour forty minute speech.

He tottered his own record, talked tariffs, ron voting, the shutdown. He said, we are in the golden age of America. Of course, the speech now being picked apart by Democrats and fact checkers this morning. This is not where we're doing that. You can go check all that out. But the speech robes it was. The State of the Union was the best State of the Union I've ever seen. Has nothing to do with the speech. Yeah, the State of the Union was an event like I had never seen a.

Speaker 2: That's a good way to put it. Suggest we're not talking about the content of the address, but the production that was on display for everyone last night. Emotional reunion's surprise awards, gold medals, purple hearts. We saw the United States hockey team, the men's hockey team created out and honored the goalie actually getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor. Then we saw one hundred year old veteran receive his Medal of Honor, a helicopter pilot. We had no idea was severely injured in the Venezuela raid to bring Maduro back to the United States. So just so many emotional, remarkable moments to witness that had nothing to do with Trump, and.

Speaker 3: Several of them did absolutely outside of politics. They drew tears, right, you just they were that deep and emotional moments. He's being criticized. Of course, this is just a distraction. They didn't really talk about the state of the Union. But these were cool, authentic moments.

The numbers were all over the place, but there were so many that was hard to get account but fifty to seventy were the estimates that did skip the speech slight last night, but those who were there made clear they were there. Some of them, at least because they were shouting at the president. Heckling from Democrats. Yesterday, the President started talking about fraud in Minnesota and mentioned the Somali community. Minnesota congresswomen il Han Omar and Rashida Talib at that point started shouting at the President, and the cameras kept finding them.

Speaker 2: Yes, the cameras actually stayed trained on them while the President was still talking. They were yelling things like you've killed Americans. They called him a liar, You should be ashamed, You're a murderer, was among the many insults thrown at the President while he was speaking. But that was truly remarkably actually, I would say the only major disruption except for.

Speaker 3: I think Representative Algreen must have an early bedtime. He just didn't want to stay up for these things, so he just gets himself kicked out and he can go home. But yes, Congresswoman Democratic congress Man al Green kicked out again. This happened before the President even started speaking. You could see him there in a prominent position. He had unfurled this sign that read black people aren't apes. You know where that comes from. Why he said that? But yes, he I say, fairly early. He was escorted out. This was pretty immediately.

Speaker 2: Yes, In fact, you saw his sign right away and said how long before? Oh yeah, he's kicked out, And it was kind of like five four three two one. And if you may remember, Green was also kicked out last year after he interrupted the president and shook his cane at him. Green was later censured for that incident. It was a big deal. Folks were saying it was disrespectful. So this time he just got kicked out early.

Speaker 1: She has died at the age of forty two. Catherine Short took her own life Monday. According to the LA Corner.

Speaker 2: She was the eldest of three adopted children of Martin Short and his late wife, Nancy Doleman. The family put out this statement upon news of Catherine's death, saying, the Short family is devastated by the loss, and our hearts certainly go out to that family that is just so difficult to process and so sudden.

Speaker 3: All right, I want to continue on the run here now and head over to Tucson where we're now in day twenty five of the search for eighty four year old Nancy Guthrie, her daughter. Today's show host Savannah Guthrie announced yesterday that the family is offering up to one million dollars for information leading to the recovery. She used that word rob possible now, the recovery of her mom.

Speaker 2: Yes, And that is an important distinction because this was the first time we heard Savannah actually acknowledge in the video that they know that her mom might already be gone. And they say the family will accept it. They just want to know where she is, what happened to her, and they want the return of her truly dead or alive at this point. And so that acknowledgment was just a just begging truly for anyone who knows something, and she reiterated someone knows something to please come forward and they will be handsomely rewarded.

Both Democrats and Republicans have been exchanging offers and engaged in negotiations. I guess that's a good sign. I mean, at least the last time, they weren't even talking for quite some time. So you know what, I'm gonna change my guess. I'm going to say they're going to get this done in twenty five days. Yea.

Melboyn Trotter died by lethal injection at six fifteen pm Eastern Time for the nineteen eighty six murder of seventy year old grandmother Virgie Langford.

Speaker 2: Yes, can you imagine forty years he since the murder he was finally executed. Some family members didn't live to see the day. Trotter stabbed Langford seven times with a butcher knife during a burglary and the grocery store she had owned for five decades she was about to retire. Her family said Langford did survive that attack long enough to identify him, but just hours after surgery she did pass. Now, we always are interested in this trotter's last meal, fish, corn bread, cake and soda.
