Speaker 1: All Right, but we begin our run with these words. The well has run dry. That is how the Trump administration has announced the federal food aid will stop at the end of this week if the government remains shut down.

Speaker 2: In particular, what you've been hearing so much about is the SNAP program. It is not going to be funded. That is forty two million people who will lose food assistance. The Agriculture Department posted this notice on its website, saying, quote, Senate Democrats have now voted twelve times to not fund the food Stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program SNAP. Bottom line, the well has run dry at this time. There will be no benefits issued November one.

We are a week away. If we make it to next week about this time, we will be coming off on setting the record for the longest shutdown in US government history. Some I guess, some dreadful things happening this week. It looked like this could be a week of pain. Federal workers are going to miss their first full paychecks this week, first full paycheck the shutdown, So they're going to fill that. The head start program that is a big deal. It's going to run out of money on November first as well. And the Transportation Secretary is warning that air traffic controllers are strained and you need to expect more and more delays. And yes, flights to lax were halted Sunday because of a staffing shortage at the Southern California Air Traffic Control Center.

Speaker 1: Hurricane Melissa was a monster category four st worm when we woke up this morning.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I was actually watching this forecast and they were forecasts it's going to pick up steam and maybe later today or tomorrow become a category five. And I took note of how much coffee you had at the time. Your first cup of coffee wasn't done and it was a Category five. So this happened just boom quicker than expected, I suppose. But yes, it's a category five. We're talking about one hundred and sixty plus mile an hour winds sits set on Jamaica right now. It's bracing for a possible direct hit.

Speaker 1: Yes, airports are closed on that island and evacuations have already been ordered. This storm is expected to go over Jamaica at some point tomorrow and could be the strongest storm to ever hit the island.

He's the former Jet All Pro center and an absolute fan favorite there people, or even if you don't know the name, if you see his face right now. He has this long blonde hair he always wore, and had this really thick beard he always wore. But he is in that team's Ring of honor. A lot of NFL teams reserved that for only their greats.

Speaker 1: Yes, and the team announced yesterday that he died. Mangold died of complications from kidney disease. Earlier this month, he went public with an appeal for a kidney donor. He said he'd been diagnosed with a genetic defect decades ago that led to chronic kidney disease, but no one in his family was a match. He needed a donor with Type O blood and just really sad story. Forty one years old, way too young to go.

Speaker 2: Said he knew the day was coming he would need a kidney transplant. He just said he didn't know it would come this soon. He thought he had more time. I had no idea he'd been dealing with this for the past twenty years. Sad uh, forty one years old? All right, Well, continuing on the run here on this Monday morning, Folks police searching for suspects after a shooting at an HBCU homecoming celebration. One person was killed and another six were injured when gunfire broke out after the Lincoln University homecoming game. Now, this school is in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This is just west I think forty five minutes or so from Philadelphia.

So the leaked info to free media forced prosecutors to put out an official statement confirming that arrests have been made, but not much else. In twenty fifteen, his most valuable piece sold for one hundred and seven teenty nine point four million dollars. His second highest sold two years ago for one hundred and thirty nine point four million dollars. That's crazy, one hundred million more and some change than this latest one.
