The airport you're flying into or out of has no air traffic controllers in the tower. Sounds a little scary. This actually happened. There is an airport that yesterday had zero air traffic controllers and robes is not just that airport. This starts a trickle down effect and now a lot of people are seeing delays all over the country. So let you know what's happening there. Also, don't need to tell you you probably know more than we do about what's going on with Taylor Swift. But she is now to the point robe she's the only record she's breaking belonged to.

Also, it's Tuesday, so somebody sue Trump and you can probably guess who and probably guess why. But we'll explain that in the second. But also on the run this morning, the peace talks continue today on what is this two year anniversary of the Gods of War. Also, Trump wants to use the same law President Kennedy used to enforce school integration, but he wants to use it for something else. Also, Mark Sanchez facing more serious charges, and Diddy has now officially asked told he has asked for a huge favor. Hmmm.

Speaker 1: We'll get into all of that, but first we do begin our run in Washington, d C. Where the Senate voted on two bills that would reopen the government. The problem is both bills failed to pass, and that was really no surprise whatsoever.

Speaker 2: And so here we are now on day seven. As expected, one of these bills was a Democrat backed plan, the other one was favored by the Republicans. So here we are day seven of the shutdown. So what exactly happens now? Not exactly sure.

Speaker 1: Yeah, the President earlier in the day yesterday said negotiations were ongoing and that it could lead to very good things. But then later in the day he said he was willing to negotiate, but only after Democrats would agree to temporary spending measures to reopen the government. So there was a if only, and that if only is not going to happen from the Democratic side.

Speaker 2: Yes, So we continue on the run here with the impact of the shutdown and all that back and forth. Yes, people are missing their paychecks. That is going to be awful, But a lot of people, not government workers, are impacted in a bunch of different ways, and that includes airline passengers. So we're seeing this at airports now in impact, and one California airport yesterday announced ahead of time we will not have any air traffic controllers on Monday night.

Speaker 1: Yep, you heard that right. Burdbank Airport announced they would have no ATC, no air traffic controllers available between the hours of four to ten pm. That means absolutely no one was in the tower. So they had to find a work around. They had to use air traffic controllers out of San Diego, which then caused an average two and a half hour delay for flights coming out of Burbanka.

Speaker 2: And this is not just inconvenient, it's dangerous. And this illustrates what we're talking about with the impact of a shutdown. So you have thirteen thousand air traffic controllers who are considered essential workers, so during a shutdown, they're required to come to work without pay. But controllers have been calling out sick in higher numbers that is causing a system wide strain. The Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said they are seeing staffing shortages as much as fifty percent in some places. They're essential, they have to be there. But he also made a point, I didn't think about this. You don't want somebody at work stressed about their bills. These folks got bills to pay, so you don't want them calling out six Some of thems had to hell with it. I'm not going into work. That's fine, and understand and some are genuinely sick. Sure, but man, the thought of a stressed out air traffic controller.

Speaker 1: Scares me as well, because it's already a stressful job. So you want to come in with peace of mind, or at least knowing that they're being compensated for the work, the life saving work that they are doing each and every day.

Speaker 1: All right, Next up on the run. Today it is the two year anniversary of the attack that started that still ongoing war in Gaza. It was October seventh, twenty twenty three, that Hamas militants launched an attack that killed twelve hundred people. Two hundred and fifty one hostages were taken.

Speaker 2: Since this war began, sixty seven thousand people have died, a third of them children. This according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. On this anniversary, though, there is some hope talks continuing Indra as we speak, it will continue today between Israel and Hamas about accepting President Trump's twenty point peace.

Speaker 1: Plan and we are going to head back now to Washington, d C. For the next leg of our run. And President Trump was asked yesterday about a possible pardon for Gallaine Maxwell after the Supreme Court refused to hear her appeal. The President's response, I would say unexpected, because all he said was who.

Speaker 2: Well, seriously, folks, he actually did use the he in his response. He was asked in the Oval office about the possibility of partning her since the Supreme Court effectively ended her legal attempts to have her sex abuse convictions and twenty year sentence overturned. Now, as he was being asked the question, the President interrupted the reporter who was asking by saying, who are we talking about?

Speaker 1: But then he went on to say this. You know, I haven't heard the name in so long. I can say this that I'd have to take a look at it. Then he started asking some questions to the reporter. Did they reject that? What happened? I see as if he weren't up on this major headline that pretty much was everywhere yesterday.

Speaker 2: I don't know if it was performative or not. He's a busy man, and I don't know if he's keeping up with all the headlines if everybody would give him a heads up. But he is a guy who does keep up. But he was.

Speaker 1: Yes, because of course this has been a thorn in his side for the past several months and certainly for even longer than that, but even it's been ramped up in the last couple of months. So this is how Trump concluded everything. He said, Well, I'll take look at it. I'll speak to the DOJ. I wouldn't consider it or not consider it. I don't know anything about it.

Speaker 2: It's possible, but the school as far as saying, who, I haven't heard that name in so long, it could be possible. Maybe they know not to even bring it up around him. Okay, maybe that's it. But to add to some skepticism about his reaction, this moment happened during the same Q and A. While he was going back and forth about Gallaine Maxwell, the President turns out of nowhere to Diddy and he revealed that, yes, Sean Diddy Combs has asked him for a pardon. At the end of his answer about Maxwell, again, he was tired of kind of dancing around that, and he said, Hey, a lot of people ask me for pardons. I call him puff Daddy. He asked me for a pardon, and then that was all he said.

Speaker 1: Well, but he knew that that was going to be maybe what Yes, that was going to absolutely shift people's focus immediately. Earlier this summer, a member of Diddy's defense team did reveal that it was an understanding that they had reached out and asked for a pardon, but this was the first time the White House actually confirmed that that happened. Combs was sentenced to fifty months in prison last week for his two convictions on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. So we have no idea where Trump stands on a possible Diddy pardon, But again, he didn't rule it out. He didn't rule a Maxwell pardon out.

Speaker 1: But even if the President doesn't get his way in court, he has signaled he would be willing to use another eyebrow raising option. Trump said yesterday he would consider invoking the Insurrection Acts.

Speaker 2: Okay, so what is that. You'll probably be hearing more about it in recent upcoming days, but it's only been used thirty times in the United States. It allows for US troops to be deployed by the president on US soil in limited situations. Has been used in this country since nineteen ninety two, and that was to take care or handle to help the la riots at the time.

Speaker 1: It was also invoked by Presidents Kennedy and Eisenhower to enforce school integration after the Supreme Court's Brown Versus Board of Education decision. President Trump said this yesterday about the Insurrection Act. I do it if it was necessary. So far it hasn't been necessary. But we have an Insurrection Act for a reason. If people were being killed and courts were holding us up, or governors or mayors were holding us up, sure I do that. We have to make sure that our cities are safe. If you take a look at what's been going on in Portland, it's been going on for a long time, and that's insurrection. I mean, that's pure insurrection.

A lot of news coming out of there about former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez. He is now facing a felony battery charge after an altercation that left him stabbed and in the hospital.

Speaker 1: He was initially facing misdemeanors after police say the thirty eight year old current Fox Sport analyst was the aggressor in a fight with a sixty nine year old truck driver. The fight, police say was over a parking spot. The driver said Sanchez reeked of alcohol and thought that Sanchez was trying to kill him, so he defended himself with his knife.

Speaker 2: You know, I call this a fight, and they are calling this more so an assault. He went after the sixty nine year old man was doing his job with the truck. It was parked some loading dock. Have no idea why Sanchez was upset, They said they have this incident on camera from several angles. The driver has filed a lawsuit against Sanchez and his employer, Fox Sports. Sanchez is still recovering in the hospital.

Well, they released updated movie posters for several old Bond movies, famous and classic Bond movies, and each of these posters, Bond's gun was removed. We were talking about the classic poster Sean Connery with his arms crossed for Doctor No pistol in his hand. That gun is now gone. Same goals for Daniel Craig, Pierce Broslon, and on and on. The gun of James Bond was taken out of his hand for all of these.

She likes cats and for all intents and purposes, is the most awesome person ever. And to add how wonderful this young lady is. We now have more things to heap praise on her for her new album is a record center.

Taylor's numbers are in the first day. And who knew that. Taylor's album also set a record for most vinyl copies sold in a single week one point two million. You were even asking when we talked about last week when her album dropped that Target stores opened at midnight. You're like, what are they buying? Because don't we just all stream everything now? But yeah, I guess people actually were waiting to buy vinyl renditions or additions.
