We have several breaking news stories in a lot of ways, the story out in California with the avalanche there as well. We have to get to all this. It's been just really Robes are really a busier breaking news morning than we thought it would be. But let's start with something uplifting. Campis Yes, and we will as we have been doing here, We're gonna get to all that news. But look, today might be Robes the biggest, the most exciting day at the Olympics for Americans. I think it's arguably the most exciting day we've had.

Speaker 1: Yes, today, because we have had the best luck, I would say, in these Winter Games. But today we have actually planned our entire day around team USA. And you should do with the figure skating, which is so exciting that the finals are today and then we also have the women's hockey finals. Yes, and it's Team USA against Canada.

Speaker 2: It was that Women's Olympics hockey has Olympics has done women's hockey. These two teams have gone at it, so and it's happening. And this is the other thing. Both of these events are happening at the same time, the exact same time. So you're gonna need multiple screens and you're probably gonna need peacock to watch all this. But these things are happening. And yes, one American woman the ice, I said it the wrong thing, the ice. It's what's their nickname, the When.

But anyway, one of the three American women figure skaters has an incredible chance and likely to make the podium, even has a chance at goal. We have one other American who has an outside shot. And then of course, Amber Glenn is a long long shot after falling to thirteenth. They are called what this trifecta, the Blade Angels, the Blade Angels. Apologies to the Blade I call them the Ice Angels. It's almost like sounding like an ice queen or Ice. That was right, angel. The Blade Angels are doing their thing along with the women's hockey. This is happening today. We are incredibly excited about it. But your metal count right now, the order has kind of not changed a lot. At the top, Norway and Italy and USA is still one, two and three when it comes to overall metals, Norway leaving the way with fifteen goals, Italy with nine, USA with seven, But the overall metal count Norway ahead with thirty three, Italy with twenty six, and the US with twenty four. But there's some exciting things to keep an eye on. And we just watched Robes ski mountaineering. Is that what's called?

Speaker 1: Fussing around, and so it isn't as exciting as you would think. Anyone who skis knows like that's the most clunky, non exciting part of skiing is getting your skis off and on. Sometimes you have to put them over your shoulder to go up that hill to get to the lift. And they do this as an event itself, so it's kind of like the just the perfunctory part of being a skier is now a part of the competition. So it's it is a little strange to watch what.

But here's the thing about the Olympics. I watched a race I wasn't that into, and at the end I got into it more than anything because third place, I believe, went to a woman from Spain, not exactly a skiing powerhouse, but in addition to that robes. This woman had a broken ankle only a month ago. She has right now a torn acl and she just fought her way through this race and got a medal, and she was in third and was happier than the ones who got goal.

Speaker 1: The bronze medalists oftentimes are happier, definitely than the silver medalists and a lot of times more than the gold medalists because maybe that person didn't expect to even medal, and so to get a bronze, to be on that podium is the coolest thing ever. And I actually, if you watch, bronze medalists are oftentimes the happiest person on the podium.

Speaker 2: She was incredible to watch. So even a sport maybe you weren't into, there's still something for everybody in a reason to root for some of these athletes. So a big day in the Olympics that gets you caught up there, but we got to get you caught up on a whole bunch of stuff. We're going to be making stops at Lake Tahoe in Newark and Tucson in New York City, in Texas and Iran on this morning's ron. But the news of the morning we have to start in Great Britain, where Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has been arrested and is currently in police custody regarding criminal activity tied to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Police theyre acknowledge they have a quote arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct and public office on our carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

Speaker 1: Now Andrew was not officially named as you heard, it was just a sixty year old man, but that is per British law. The accusations are that he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while he was serving as a British Trade envoy. So this latest document dropped by the DOJ got a bunch of folks and now it looks like you can add Andrew to the list. But it revealed a number of emails between Andrew and Epstein. Of note, there was one where you see that Andrew forded an email to Epstein that had official reports about visits he made to South Asia in twenty ten. So if Andrew is officially charged and convicted. He's facing life in prison. And we should point out that the charges right now, the suspicions that he is being being arrested for, are unrelated to the accusations made by the late Virginia Geffrey, who claimed he raped and sexually abused her multiple times when she was just seventeen. Andrew denied all allegations, but did settle with her for an undisclosed amount of money in twenty twenty two.

Speaker 2: You know, and this is just popping up robes. There's been extensive reporting this morning. Again this we are recording within a couple of hours of this news coming. But we have heard according to New York Times, there are quoting the family of Virginia Geufray as saying, quote, he was never a prince for survivors everywhere Virginia did this for you. Wow, is what they are given today. They are certainly welcoming the news, but they say our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one else is above the law. But again, we will have many developments on this story today. Meanwhile, former Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles last year. You might remember. He's also kicked out of his royal residence. King Charles did release a statement this morning saying that he has been supporting and will continue to support the police and their investigation. He said, let me stay clearly, the law must take its course. It would not be right for me to comment further on this matter today. Robes of all things, just that weird coincidence.

Speaker 1: It's his birthday, sixty sixth birthday. Wow, to be arrested on that day. And by the way, over in the UK, you cannot hold a suspect for more than twenty four hours without being formally charged. So he has been arrested on suspicion of these charges.

Speaker 1: To to make those charges formal if they want to continue to detain him. So there was going to be much more on this story developing throughout the day. In the meantime, though, we turn our eyes to California, where there was the deadliest avalanche in modern California history. This is in the Lake Tahoe area, just north of Lake Tahoe. We now know that eight skiers are dead, one is missing, and that skier is also presumed to be dead. There were several feet of snow. I believe they said three to six feet of snow fell in thirty six hours. This all happened over the last several days and unfortunately resulted in that deadly avalanche.

Speaker 2: And there were initial reports of more than a dozen people that were missing on that mountain, but they did find at least six people found alive, so they do have survivors. The area though, has been under avalanche warning since Sunday. Authorities are now questioning why the ski group they were under with a tour group, is that the right way to see this ski group was taking them up, wondering why why did you stay out there as late as Tuesday when the avalanche happened, when you had two days of warnings that this was a possibility.

Speaker 1: And they say that that missing skier they will have to wait for the weather to clear because the danger is just too great for these rescue, these search and rescue operations to continue in those conditions.

Speaker 2: I continue on the run here now. I want to give you an update something everybody's going to be keeping an eye on this week. And Iran and the US, of course, two sides have been engaged in talks regarding the future of Iran's nuclear program, but according to multiple news outlets, CNN, A, CBS among them, the time for talk could be over by Saturday. These reports are now saying that President Trump has been presented with and is considering options for striking Iran as soon as Saturday. Keep an eye on that. This has been ongoing back and forth. The President has made all kinds of threats, at least publicly, and there's been a back and forth with the leaders of Iran as well. But these reports from multiple major outlets that this is a possibility for this WEEKENDO.

Speaker 1: All right, Next up on the Run, we turn our attention to Tucson, where we have the latest for you on the search for Nancy Guthrie. The FBI is saying it has photos and names of people who could possibly be the suspect that we saw on that surveillance video from Nancy Guthrie's front door. They say they're talking to employees at local businesses gun shops to see if anyone recognizes the faces and names that they have. The Sheriff's department also said they have not ruled out the possibility that that man in the surveillance video had an accomplice to carry out his crime.

Speaker 2: And of course some of the reporting we've seen some TMZ with some of the notes they've been getting, suggests that there was more than one kidnapper, and possibly she was in Mexico. Nancy Guthrie was, but police have come out and said there's no evidence to suggest that in fact, Nancy Guthrie was taken to Mexico. Update here as well. You know that the FBI put out a reward of one hundred thousand dollars. Well, the local share of there also had a reward early of twenty five hundred dollars a minute. People say, oh, that's very low, Well, that comes from oftentimes a local police department's budget and whatnot for these But now someone has donated anonymously one hundred thousand dollars. So now we have two different awards here going rewards going one hundred thousand from the FBI, one hundred and two thousand now from the sheriff's department. There also ropes should note they are looking at genetic genealogy. It is being used now to try to identify this DNA. Also, the sheriff said they're trying to get more video trying to recover from this surveillance system at Nancy Guthrie's home. They said they've been working with several major companies, Google among them. Say Hey, we don't think we can get anything, but we'll try.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, we're going to turn out to a growing scandal in this state of Texas, where there are now calls for Texas Congressman Tony Gonzalez to resign after a newly revealed text message appears to confirm that that congressional aid who died last fall after setting herself on fire, was having an affair with Gonzalez before her death.

Speaker 2: The former staffer for Gonzalez has now shared a screen shot to local newspapers and it was also reviewed by other news outlets. And the text was from the aide Regina santos Avilis, and it read this quote, I had an affair with our boss and I'm fine. That was it. Now, The former staffer says santos Avilis fell into a deep depression after her husband found out about the affair and then Gonzales cut her off. Now, in a statement on Wednesday, the representative Gonzales he didn't comment specifically on the allegations just said quote he would not engage in these personal smears and instead remained focused on helping President Trump secure the border and improve the lives of all Texans. End quote.

Speaker 1: And there had been rumors of this affair four months now, back in November, Gonzalez had said just this that the rumors are completely untruthful, and in fact, now he has accused one of his primary opponents of using this text from a disgruntled former staffer, he says, to near her memory and score political points. By the way, Gonzalez is a married father of six, and Santo Savilis was also married and had a son, also of note. The paper that first published this story, the San Antonio Express News, upon reporting this and seeing the screenshot, pulled its endorsement of Gonzales. He is running for a fourth term now in this midterm election, and said it will not make a recommendation in the race because of these new developments in the story.

Speaker 1: At a couple of airports yesterday, this one involving commercial airliners, but this one from Newark to West Palm Beach. It was a Jet Blue flight and they had to turn around and come back because of engine issues.

Speaker 1: There were one hundred and twenty one folks who were on that plane, passengers who had to evacuate once they safely, thankfully landed back again in Newark. They actually had to go down those slides and there was an hour, a full hour ground stop at Newark Airport last night. Flights did not resume until around seven pm because of this very frightening incident that thankfully ended with everyone on board.

Speaker 2: Okay, don't want to see those slides come out. No, no, no, what everybody was fine, but we see those slides. That's an emergency. And I didn't know this. They said that automatically triggers ground stop at an airport. If those things have to be deployed and they have to just pause for a second and make sure everything's cool.

Speaker 2: Also the other flight we're talking about, this one was one from Houston to Atlanta. It made it to Atlanta, but late because a one dude, an unruly and unlawful passenger is how he was described.

No motive necessarily, and don't know what was going on with him. This was the other thing we also think about alcohol and flight was like five forty five in the morning. Oh.

B. Reese, that is, the inventor of the Reese's peanut butter cup, and he is now publicly calling out Hershey's. Seventy year old Brad Reese is claiming that those Reese's peanut butter cups aren't what they used to be, as in milk, chocolate and actual peanut butter. In a letter to Hershey's corporate brand manager that he published on his LinkedIn page, Reese is claiming that Hershey's is using cheaper ingredients for its bottom line and it tastes like it. He actually said he recently had to throw out a Valentine's bag of Reese's mini hearts because quote, it was not edible. You have to understand, I used to eat a Rece's product every day. This is very devastating for me.

Speaker 2: Okay, Now he claims the Hershey's the company replaces milk chocolate with compound coatings and peanut butter with peanut cream. Included a picture of the packaging which as heart shaped candies are made from chocolate, candy and peanut butter cream, not milk, chocolate and peanut butter. Huh not. Hershey acknowledged some recipe changes over the years, but says it's meeting consumer demand for innovation, saying that they have grown and expanded the product line. We make product recipe adjustments that allow us to make new shape, sizes and innovations. Does that makes sense? And also there's a change, I mean it costs more. Costs go up, travel costs, tariff costs, whatever, and they have to make adjustments.

Speaker 1: Correct But Reese is saying that you are now diminishing the quality of the product for your bottom line. Cacal prices have absolutely gone much much higher, and it's absolutely documented that several candy makers, most candy makers, chocolate makers have reduced the amount of chocolate. And the FDA is very specific. You have to have a certain percentage of chocolate to be able to say it's milk chocolate. So it is of note that Hershey's is putting on the label, was it chocolate product?

But we have heard according to New York Times, there are quoting the family of Virginia Geufray as saying, quote, he was never a prince for survivors everywhere Virginia did this for you. Wow, is what they are given today. They are certainly welcoming the news, but they say our broken hearts have been lifted at the news that no one else is above the law. But again, we will have many developments on this story today. Meanwhile, former Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles last year. You might remember. He's also kicked out of his royal residence. King Charles did release a statement this morning saying that he has been supporting and will continue to support the police and their investigation. He said, let me stay clearly, the law must take its course. It would not be right for me to comment further on this matter today. Robes of all things, just that weird coincidence.

Speaker 1: It's his birthday, sixty sixth birthday. Wow, to be arrested on that day. And by the way, over in the UK, you cannot hold a suspect for more than twenty four hours without being formally charged. So he has been arrested on suspicion of these charges.

In the meantime, though, we turn our eyes to California, where there was the deadliest avalanche in modern California history. This is in the Lake Tahoe area, just north of Lake Tahoe. We now know that eight skiers are dead, one is missing, and that skier is also presumed to be dead. There were several feet of snow. I believe they said three to six feet of snow fell in thirty six hours. This all happened over the last several days and unfortunately resulted in that deadly avalanche.

Speaker 2: And there were initial reports of more than a dozen people that were missing on that mountain, but they did find at least six people found alive, so they do have survivors. The area though, has been under avalanche warning since Sunday. Authorities are now questioning why the ski group they were under with a tour group, is that the right way to see this ski group was taking them up, wondering why why did you stay out there as late as Tuesday when the avalanche happened, when you had two days of warnings that this was a possibility.

Speaker 1: And they say that that missing skier they will have to wait for the weather to clear because the danger is just too great for these rescue, these search and rescue operations to continue in those conditions.

Speaker 2: I continue on the run here now. I want to give you an update something everybody's going to be keeping an eye on this week. And Iran and the US, of course, two sides have been engaged in talks regarding the future of Iran's nuclear program, but according to multiple news outlets, CNN, A, CBS among them, the time for talk could be over by Saturday. These reports are now saying that President Trump has been presented with and is considering options for striking Iran as soon as Saturday. Keep an eye on that. This has been ongoing back and forth. The President has made all kinds of threats, at least publicly, and there's been a back and forth with the leaders of Iran as well. But these reports from multiple major outlets that this is a possibility for this WEEKENDO.

Speaker 1: All right, Next up on the Run, we turn our attention to Tucson, where we have the latest for you on the search for Nancy Guthrie. The FBI is saying it has photos and names of people who could possibly be the suspect that we saw on that surveillance video from Nancy Guthrie's front door. They say they're talking to employees at local businesses gun shops to see if anyone recognizes the faces and names that they have. The Sheriff's department also said they have not ruled out the possibility that that man in the surveillance video had an accomplice to carry out his crime.

Speaker 2: And of course some of the reporting we've seen some TMZ with some of the notes they've been getting, suggests that there was more than one kidnapper, and possibly she was in Mexico. Nancy Guthrie was, but police have come out and said there's no evidence to suggest that in fact, Nancy Guthrie was taken to Mexico. Update here as well. You know that the FBI put out a reward of one hundred thousand dollars. Well, the local share of there also had a reward early of twenty five hundred dollars a minute. People say, oh, that's very low, Well, that comes from oftentimes a local police department's budget and whatnot for these But now someone has donated anonymously one hundred thousand dollars. So now we have two different awards here going rewards going one hundred thousand from the FBI, one hundred and two thousand now from the sheriff's department. There also ropes should note they are looking at genetic genealogy. It is being used now to try to identify this DNA. Also, the sheriff said they're trying to get more video trying to recover from this surveillance system at Nancy Guthrie's home. They said they've been working with several major companies, Google among them. Say Hey, we don't think we can get anything, but we'll try.

Speaker 1: Next up on the run, we're going to turn out to a growing scandal in this state of Texas, where there are now calls for Texas Congressman Tony Gonzalez to resign after a newly revealed text message appears to confirm that that congressional aid who died last fall after setting herself on fire, was having an affair with Gonzalez before her death.

Speaker 2: The former staffer for Gonzalez has now shared a screen shot to local newspapers and it was also reviewed by other news outlets. And the text was from the aide Regina santos Avilis, and it read this quote, I had an affair with our boss and I'm fine. That was it. Now, The former staffer says santos Avilis fell into a deep depression after her husband found out about the affair and then Gonzales cut her off. Now, in a statement on Wednesday, the representative Gonzales he didn't comment specifically on the allegations just said quote he would not engage in these personal smears and instead remained focused on helping President Trump secure the border and improve the lives of all Texans. Speaker 1: And there had been rumors of this affair four months now, back in November, Gonzalez had said just this that the rumors are completely untruthful, and in fact, now he has accused one of his primary opponents of using this text from a disgruntled former staffer, he says, to near her memory and score political points. By the way, Gonzalez is a married father of six, and Santo Savilis was also married and had a son, also of note. The paper that first published this story, the San Antonio Express News, upon reporting this and seeing the screenshot, pulled its endorsement of Gonzales. He is running for a fourth term now in this midterm election, and said it will not make a recommendation in the race because of these new developments in the story.

Speaker 1: There were one hundred and twenty one folks who were on that plane, passengers who had to evacuate once they safely, thankfully landed back again in Newark. They actually had to go down those slides and there was an hour, a full hour ground stop at Newark Airport last night. Flights did not resume until around seven pm because of this very frightening incident that thankfully ended with everyone on board.

Speaker 2: Okay, don't want to see those slides come out. No, no, no, what everybody was fine, but we see those slides. That's an emergency. And I didn't know this. They said that automatically triggers ground stop at an airport. If those things have to be deployed and they have to just pause for a second and make sure everything's cool.

He did engage with customers and some of the crew, but he did not try to get into the cockpit anyway. They stopped everything, got him off, and the folks made their way to Atlanta. No motive necessarily, and don't know what was going on with him. This was the other thing we also think about alcohol and flight was like five forty five in the morning. Oh.

B. Reese, that is, the inventor of the Reese's peanut butter cup, and he is now publicly calling out Hershey's. Seventy year old Brad Reese is claiming that those Reese's peanut butter cups aren't what they used to be, as in milk, chocolate and actual peanut butter. In a letter to Hershey's corporate brand manager that he published on his LinkedIn page, Reese is claiming that Hershey's is using cheaper ingredients for its bottom line and it tastes like it. He actually said he recently had to throw out a Valentine's bag of Reese's mini hearts because quote, it was not edible. You have to understand, I used to eat a Rece's product every day. This is very devastating for me.

Speaker 2: Okay, Now he claims the Hershey's the company replaces milk chocolate with compound coatings and peanut butter with peanut cream. Included a picture of the packaging which as heart shaped candies are made from chocolate, candy and peanut butter cream, not milk, chocolate and peanut butter. Huh not. Hershey acknowledged some recipe changes over the years, but says it's meeting consumer demand for innovation, saying that they have grown and expanded the product line. We make product recipe adjustments that allow us to make new shape, sizes and innovations. Does that makes sense? And also there's a change, I mean it costs more. Costs go up, travel costs, tariff costs, whatever, and they have to make adjustments.

Speaker 1: Correct But Reese is saying that you are now diminishing the quality of the product for your bottom line. Cacal prices have absolutely gone much much higher, and it's absolutely documented that several candy makers, most candy makers, chocolate makers have reduced the amount of chocolate. And the FDA is very specific. You have to have a certain percentage of chocolate to be able to say it's milk chocolate. So it is of note that Hershey's is putting on the label, was it chocolate product?
