Speaker 2: I mean I have gone to the Arctic Circle I think three or four times and never got to see them until the last time. Annalice woke up or I guess she was staying up late and Boulder, Colorado, my youngest, and she sent the most gorgeous, gorgeous pictures.

Speaker 1: And a lot of people all over the country got to see this extraordinary show. Some of them even got a little bit of a show this morning. I didn't see it. You have some cloud cover. I don't think New York was really on the list of places, but about half the country was able to possibly see. Yes, this storm. Essentially, there's a storm going on at the sun of those particles make their way here to us. All that stuff interacts with our atmosphere and the gases, and it causes the lights. That's the short story. But it was a hell of a show last night.

Speaker 2: It's still happening, right, Yeah, it's day forty three of the government shutdown, and if all goes as well today in Washington as they say it may, this shutdown will not get to a day forty four. From our lips to God's ears, right, A House committee over and I voted to send a senator proved compromise bill to the full House for a vote, which could come as early as this after.

Speaker 1: So this bill does not guarantee an extension of healthcare subsidies, yes, those Obamacare subsidies, which was the Democrat stated purpose of shutting down the government. They didn't get that. Instead, what this bill does have is funding for the government at its current levels through January at least. It also reverses shut down layoffs. That's great. Also guarantees full back pay for workers. That's great as well. It also funds some programs like SNAP for a full year, so if another shutdown does happen, God forbid, at least we wouldn't have to worry about that. Bro, this was a big deal. We know this travel wise, they're all over the country. We had weather, and you've got all of these cancelations and a lot of these members of Congress, they've been on social media talking about their challenges. They're taken planets and.

Speaker 2: Next up on the run, Well, this was kind of good news bad news. We got an update from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who has now become a household day, like he is the most well known cabinet member at this point right now in the Trump administration.

Speaker 1: To sound crazy, I was thinking, man, this guy could run for president Sean Duffy. The reason I'm saying that is because we're turning to him almost It felt like Cuomo, Governor Cuomo during COVID every day, give me the update, every day, give me the update. And if someone has a calm at least demeanor, you feel like they're being straight with you. I have to give him.

Speaker 2: Credit, and he is being straight with us, which has been you know, it's been a little disturbing to hear what we are facing in air travel these days. But at least we know what to expect before we head out. So here's the good news. Sean Duffy said, Tuesday was a better decent day, relatively speaking, in this situation we're in for air trapplers.

Speaker 1: Yes, Corney Duffy, there was a decrease and the number of air traffic controllers, calling out his exact words, today was a much better day. A lot more air traffic controllers are coming in, Like I said, that's straight forward, right. He said, there were eighty one staffing triggers on Saturday. We've talked about these staffing triggers where things get to a certain point so many people having called in, they have a staffing trigger, so they have to change things. So only four of those yesterday, they were only short so much that they had to essentially change schedules four times versus eighty one over the weekend. That's great.

Speaker 2: He warned that if the government is not opened up by the weekend, we will see massively more disruptions at airports. In other words, he says it's going to radically slow down even if Congress votes to reopen the government today. By the way, Duffy said, the planned forced airline cancelations will continue through this week, eventually getting to that ten percent reduction by the end of the week, But he did have.

Speaker 2: In addition to that, potentially ten thousand dollars bonus if you never missed a day of work. He said, they're going to get seventy percent of their back pay within twenty four to forty eight hours of the government reopening. Speaker 1: Hey, look a part of this as well. They hear that and see that about they want to make sure now, okay, I got a job. Apparently the pay is going to come. They're coming around to now, okay, let me get my boot back to work. And that's understandable. The ten thousand I would like to keep following up to see if anybody gets that ten I would too say, he said, all if you missed no days yep during the shutdown, all right, continu you're go on the run here now and Robes, you were pointing this story out to me with a day or two ago, and I said, well, this is a actually said, I said, it was a baby formula that is not a big seller. It's organic, but now it has expanded to a way that almost my jaw dropped. If you've been watching this, folks, They now say at least fifteen babies have been hospitalized. This is connected to a baby formula recall that's expanded to include all baby formula made by by Heart. This is an organic baby formula company. But rob this is kind of incredible. Everything they make they're pulling off the shelf and if you have it in the house, you need to throw it out. And this is all over a botulism risk.

Speaker 2: Yeah, you say botulism and babies, and yes, that's a frightening thing to think about. No babies have died, that is the good news. But yes, at least fifteen babies in twelve states have been sickened enough that they had to go to the hospital. By Heart makes organic baby formula. The outbreak was first noticed back in August, so the company voluntarily recalled some lots of their formula. But now yes, it's taking the step of pulling it all of it from the market. The formula has been sold in stores like Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods.

Speaker 1: Okay, I couldn't just off the top of my head I hear it, but I couldn't describe. Botulism. A rare illness affects kids, usually under a year old. It's caused by a toxin that the little ones just can't fight off because they don't have a mature enough gut microbiome system to fight this thing off. It can cause paralysis death in kids, and you have to get them, they say, to the hospital immediately, as soon as you see anything.

Speaker 2: This is a crazy side note, but botulism is obviously botox. I don't know if you put two and two together. So the paralysis when some of us women put botox in our faces, it's actually paralyzing our muscles. But when you are pregnant, you cannot get botox injections. That is a huge, huge no no. So that's my only knowledge of what botulism is. I guess I didn't even realize that it was organically occurring in certain substances where I can get in.

Speaker 2: Next up on the run, Speaking of scary there is an alarming increase in cases of whooping cough. Texas officials have issued a health alert as the state has recorded thirty five hundred cases of whooping cough infections in the state this year.

Speaker 1: Okay, so we needed some context for that thirty five hundred number, and here it is that's the highest number they've seen since twenty fourteen. Okay, but get this, it's ten times higher than just two years ago. That is a big deal. In robes. This stood out to me here because we were talking about measles out of Texas, and the same reason it took off there is because there has been a decrease, they say, in vaccination rates.

Speaker 2: I was before I got to that part of the story. I thought, wow, this sounds a lot like measles West Texas. A large population in that area is unvaccinated. A lot of people point to the fact that during COVID a lot of folks just didn't get babies vaccinated. So now they're turning what five six, and so this is now spawning illnesses that were once contained.

Speaker 1: But we're also don't we have a theme and more conversation these days about vaccines and not necessarily talking about how safe they are, but questioning their safety for years now, I mean since COVID there's been debates about sure vaccines that necessarily hasn't been in favor of vaccines correct.

Speaker 2: Well, and then RFK Junior being the head of AHHS and certainly his very well known stance on questioning the safety and efficacy of vaccines and the necessity of them. But we are going to see what the results of all of that information and all of this well, this new trend, it seems to be that parents are opting out all right.

Speaker 1: Why do I know? It was Tate McCrae and David mccompany, that's where. But yes, they were there, so that everybody was wondering what was going on. It turns out he was probably trying to tend to or be with his friend at the time. This is not just his friend, this is not just somebody he worked with. This was his best friend Rose. I did not know their history. They met at the age of nine, growing up together in Vegas. Escabiado followed his dad's footsteps became a professional musician. They kind of went there. They stayed friends, but they were doing their own things professionally. Kimmel gets his show, calls his best friend say come, I want you to be a part of this show. He had to sell Disney on the Guy because there was some reservations where you just want to bring one of your boys in kind of a thing. They loved Escubido. Escabido's dad was in the Damn Band with him. That's just a dream come true for kids that grew up together. And so he's passed away now at the age of fifty nine. They were together twenty three years on that show, and the show is going to take some days off for I mean to mourn, to deal, to pass, I mean to be with that show twenty.

He says he's not gonna seek reelection actually say what he wanted to hand it off to somebody younger. Schlosburg certainly is younger, thirty two years old. This district road it is the heart of Manhattan, the top of Central Park down to West Village and everything in between. So you're talking Times Square, Penn Station, Upper west Side, upper East Side, all of this. This is a very very important district. But Slosburg is the son of Caroline and he is the cousin. Okay, I always get this mixed up. His first cousin once, removed second cousin twice. I don't know.

Speaker 2: Yeah, you say botulism and babies, and yes, that's a frightening thing to think about. No babies have died, that is the good news. But yes, at least fifteen babies in twelve states have been sickened enough that they had to go to the hospital. By Heart makes organic baby formula. The outbreak was first noticed back in August, so the company voluntarily recalled some lots of their formula. But now yes, it's taking the step of pulling it all of it from the market. The formula has been sold in stores like Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods.

It's caused by a toxin that the little ones just can't fight off because they don't have a mature enough gut microbiome system to fight this thing off. It can cause paralysis death in kids, and you have to get them, they say, to the hospital immediately, as soon as you see anything.

Okay, but get this, it's ten times higher than just two years ago. That is a big deal. In robes. This stood out to me here because we were talking about measles out of Texas, and the same reason it took off there is because there has been a decrease, they say, in vaccination rates.

A lot of people point to the fact that during COVID a lot of folks just didn't get babies vaccinated. It turns out he was probably trying to tend to or be with his friend at the time. This is not just his friend, this is not just somebody he worked with. This was his best friend Rose. I did not know their history. They met at the age of nine, growing up together in Vegas. Escabiado followed his dad's footsteps became a professional musician. They kind of went there. They stayed friends, but they were doing their own things professionally. Kimmel gets his show, calls his best friend say come, I want you to be a part of this show. He had to sell Disney on the Guy because there was some reservations where you just want to bring one of your boys in kind of a thing. They loved Escubido. Escabido's dad was in the Damn Band with him. That's just a dream come true for kids that grew up together. And so he's passed away now at the age of fifty nine. They were together twenty three years on that show, and the show is going to take some days off for I mean to mourn, to deal, to pass, I mean to be with that show twenty.

This district road it is the heart of Manhattan, the top of Central Park down to West Village and everything in between. So you're talking Times Square, Penn Station, Upper west Side, upper East Side, all of this. This is a very very important district. But Slosburg is the son of Caroline and he is the cousin. Okay, I always get this mixed up. His first cousin once, removed second cousin twice. I don't know.
