A lot of people will be flying, a lot of people hitting the roads. Keep dealing with that four alls and fifty plus since a gallon gas. But no matter what, hope you are able to enjoy the weekend. And last night we were waiting for this. It's been ten years. I guests for Stephen Colbert ended it last night. It was you know, it was a special, special thing and you had to remember it's not just him leaving. This show was going away. It's an institution and that's sad as well.

Speaker 1: That's right, we're talking about Tony Carruthers. He was scheduled to die at ten am local time. I'm for a nineteen ninety four triple murder that he has maintained this entire time.

Speaker 1: They actually delayed the execution for a bit, waiting for the Supreme Court to decide on the acl u's final, last ditch effort to spare him. The Supreme Court refused to hear the case and said go ahead with the execution. So they tried to for an hour and a half to find a second vein, a backup vein. They could not find the vein, and the Tennessee governor ultimately decided to give Carruthers a year reprieve, which could lead to perhaps even further movement. Because the ACLU, Kim Kardashian, a bunch of folks have been trying to get fingerprint tested from part of the evidence package, and they claimed it could exonerate him. So now he's got a year and maybe that testing can take place and we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3: With that close to death in the protocol there in Tennessee. Yeah, he had the primary line. They could have gone forward, but they are required to have a backup needle in the arm. That backup needle could not find a vein. And here we are. But hours after that execution was called off in Tennessee, the state of Florida went forward with the execution of Richard Knight. He was declared dead at six thirteen last evening local time before his execution. As attorneys, though, Robes asked for a stay of execution. Why based on what happened in Tennessee earlier. They used that as the foundation for their argument.

We should point out a pregnant woman and her four year old daughter.

The trial is over and rose this says, not because of an acquittal.

The judge usually hears it and then says denied.
