We mentioned that first because there's a lot going on in these days, a lot of updates, and even if you look at our feed now, if you go back to the one before this robes, there was an update having to do with the Epstein files and President Trump that we we needed to hop on and let folks know what was going on.

Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a big headline pretty much when you woke up, when we woke up this morning, that there are three missing files specifically among several dozen that point to allegations that Trump had been accused of some type of sexual misconduct. And so those missing files are now we're now asking the DOJ, especially Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, asking why they were not released and where they are.

Speaker 1: So, yes, take a look at that, check out the episode right before this Morning Run. But we will get going on this run going to be making stops in Rhode Island, in Los Angeles, in upstate New York, and Washington Square Park in Manhattan specifically, and also making a stop out in Park City, Utah. But we have to begin the run this morning. I want to give you a couple of updates actually on some things happening today. First, the Clintons. Their schedule to give in person depositions before the House Committee investigating Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaker 2: And Hillary Clinton is up. First. That happens today. Former President Clinton is scheduled to testify on Friday tomorrow. Now, these closed door depositions will happen at a location near the Clinton's home in Chapaqua.

Speaker 1: New York. Yes, they will be filmed, they will be transcribed. Unclear though when we might be seeing those released to the public. Remember, the House Committee threatened to hold the Clinton's in contempt of Congress if they refused to show up for these depositions. There was a short public standoff before the Clintons finally said, oh, and this was the compromise. But it's happening today.

Speaker 2: Also happening today, testimony scheduled to resume in the Corey Richand's murder trial. We had a bit of a surprise yesterday. Court was unexpectedly and abruptly stopped pretty early within an hour into testimony.

Speaker 1: Yeah. Richards is the Utah mother of three charged in the twenty twenty three poisoning death of her husband. But then she wrote a children's book after his death, meant to help kids herds in particular, but to help kids deal with the grief of losing a parent.

Speaker 2: And the trial began this week yesterday, though just an hour into the day's testimony, the judge did send the jury home for the day, citing unforeseen emergency circumstances that were unrelated to the case. I'm not sure if we're going to get an explanation, but we do expect court to resume.

Speaker 2: Cuba, Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the US is now trying to get to the bottom of this. But according to Cuba, ten people were in the boat that had entered Cuban waters. They say the occupants opened fire on Cuban forces, which then returned fire, killing four on board.

Speaker 1: There were six others who were injured. Cuba says the people were Cuban nationals living in the US who intended a quote, terrorist infiltration of Cuba.

Speaker 2: All Right, Next up on the Run. A third victim has now died from that shooting at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island. Seventy five year old Gerald Dorgan had been in critical condition since the shooting last week.

Speaker 1: Now police say the shooter was fifty six year old Robert Dorgan, who also killed his ex wife and son in that attack. Police say this was not a mass shooting or mass targeting of people at that event. Everybody saw that video. Everyone in that ring took off scrambling. But police say this was a targeted attack based on a family dispute.

Speaker 2: All Right, Next up on the Run. The FBI has reportedly received fifteen hundred new tips ever since the family of Nancy Guthrie announced that one million dollar reward for information leading to her recovery.

Speaker 1: Remarkable to think. We are now on day's twenty six of the search for the eighty four year old mother of Today's show co host Savannah Guthrie. The updates or the significant developments in this case are few and far between. We have not had a press conference from authorities out there in weeks, and they have not given another major development that's showing that this case is anywhere close to being solved.

Speaker 2: All right, Next up on the Run, Singer David is the target of a grand jury investigation into the death of a fourteen year old girl whose body was found decomposing in the trunk of his tesla.

Speaker 1: Yeah, this is according to newly revealed court documents that are giving new details and insight into this case. Ce Les Reebis Hernandez was found in September of last year at the front trunk of an abandoned tesla registered to Singer David. His real name is David Andnthony Burke.

Speaker 2: And while police have remained extremely tight lip throughout this investigation, these new court documents do show that David is in fact the target of a grand jury. It states it is alleged in this case that the target may be involved in the death of fourteen year old victims Celeste Reves Hernandez. Weinstein has hired a trio of lawyers who also repped Ditty and Mangioni. We're talking about Mark Agnefhillo, Tony Garrigos, and Jacob Kaplan. Certainly we've heard those names quite a bit over the past year.

Speaker 1: Yeah, they're now taking over for Weinstein in his current criminal case. A trial date was supposed to be in March has been pushed back a little bit, but he does have an upcoming trial. Now they're taking over the current case. His other longtime lawyer that's been representing him is going to focus on the appeals and civil cases. A lot is coming at him again. I'm to be honest with your ropes. I couldn't keep up. I thought it was done, and then he gets something was thrown out and then overturn. I can't keep up. They are state charges, federal I don't know, but this one has to do. This current trial has to do with accusations that he raped a hairstylist back in twenty thirteen.

Speaker 2: Yes, there are, as you point up, federal cases. I think there's a California case, there's the New York case. And yes, Weinstein has been in jail for six years now after that twenty twenty conviction. He also got prison time for a California case. It is very confusing how many different cases he is fielding. And that's just the criminal cases. As you pointed out, there are civil cases as well, quite a few.

It all happened during the State of the Union on Tuesday, and he's already gotten to work on it. He's launching what was dubbed a war on fraud.

Speaker 1: So first move here, he's announced that the administration is going to pause Medicaid payments to Minnesota, a move that will take some two hundred and sixty million dollars from that state this month alone. The FEDS have been investigating fraud in that state related to daycare centers and the misuse of funds. I think everybody is acknowledging, even the governor there, that legit fraud has taken place and we need to look into.

Speaker 2: It absolutely, And so Van says this move is necessary to ensure the state is being good stewards of taxpayer money. Governor Tim Walls didn't agree with that. His response, this has nothing to do with fraud. Cuts will be devastating for veterans, families with young kids, folks with disabilities, and working people across our state.

Speaker 1: All right, continuing on the run here now, we'll continue talking about the State of the Union. And we saw, of course Representative Al Green, Democrat of Texas get kicked out of the State of the Union. Back to back years he's been kicked out. But there was another guest who was escorted out and rested, and she was there as a guest of Minnesota Congresswoman il Han Omar.

Speaker 2: Her name Eliah Rahmon. She was forcibly removed from the State of the Union after, according to police, she was told to sit down and that she could not have a demonstration in the House chamber. Representative Omar said the woman was charged with disorderly conduct, but also that she'd been manhandled by police and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. So, yes, this is all exhausting and seemingly avoidable, and yet here we are.

Speaker 2: Welcome back to this Friday Eve morning run. And next up on the run and NASA astronaut admitting, yeah, it was me. I was the one with the medical issue aboard the International Space Station, of course, which caused the crew to have to come back much earlier than anticipate.

Speaker 1: It was a month right, Yeah, Okay, So Mike Fink is the guy. He was commander actually at the International Space Station. He's not giving all the details of his medical condition, but Robes, it sounds much more serious that I mean, it sounds serious. You got to bring them back. But he is describing something that was that sounds like it was an absolute emergency situation.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and he gave us some information, but you know, everyone wants more. This was such a big story, so he's just kind of dri drip. I don't know if we'll get more than this, but here is what he wrote on social media. I experienced a medical event that required immediate attention from my incredible crewmates. Thanks to their quick response and the guidance of our NASA flight surgeons, my status quickly stabilized.

I can't even imagine what would happen when you're in outer space and you have a life threatening, potentially life threatening situation. That's it's about as scary as a gain.

Speaker 1: But I applaud them they got him home. I applaud that that is really impressive. Also impressive, the US women's hockey team goal medalists once again. But the star of the team, Hillary Knight, said President Trump made a quote distasteful joke. But she wants to move.

Speaker 2: On for this, and I understand why she wants to. Yes, let's all move on from this. This joke was made in the locker room immediately after the US men's hockey team won gold. It's so funny that it happened in the locker room because this is literally locker room talk. Is what people a lot of times chalk it up to.

Speaker 2: Yeah, than a locker yeah, exactly. And that's exactly what the talk was like on the speakerphone talking to the team. The President invited them to the White House, but he added this, I must tell you, we're gonna have to bring the women's team. You do know that. I do believe I probably would be impeached. Ha ha ha. And the men's team chuckled, which also created and stirred up some controversy.

Speaker 1: So Knight was asked about it in ESPN and of You and said quote, I thought it was sort of a distasteful joke, and unfortunately that is overshadowing a lot of the success, the success of just women at the Olympics, caring for Team USA and having amazing gold metal feats. She's right, it's not that big of a deal. I think the president had a boy's moment that was caught on camera. But Robes, that is awful for every woman who was representing the US, as if we're after thoughts.

The men just wanted for the first time, and we're and I think women's are women's teams are victims of their own success. We expect them to win. The US women's soccer team, the US women's hockey team. Right Our men's basketball team gets challenged internationally, but our women represent Maybe that's a part of it too.

Speaker 2: Happened in Manhattan's Washington Square Park. There was a big call for like the biggest snowball fight ever while the city was in the middle of this blizzard on Monday.

Speaker 1: So and again Washington Square for folks that aren't familiar, that's around NYU YPD around NYU. It's a gathering place. Kids go there to perform, people go read. It's a fun, big, open, always something going on kind of park.

Speaker 1: So if there's a blizzard and there's all this snow, obviously they're going to show up there. So NYPD got called that things were getting a little out of hand, getting aggressive, so they showed up. The mayor has now downplayed the incident as just innocent fun that got out of hand, but the police commissioner and the police union called it flat out assault on police officer.

Speaker 2: That's right. The commissioner wrote this on social media. I want to be clear, the behavior depicted is disgraceful and it is criminal. In fact, and this is fair, two police officers were actually at the hospital, according to the NYPD, with lacerations to their face.

Crime Stoppers here in New York has posted photos of at least two snowball offenders and asking for the public's help and tracking them down for arrest ropes. If you see the video, sounds like a snow these are they. Yeah, this went beyond. This wasn't playful, This wasn't fun.

Speaker 2: You and I both looked at it and said, that is assault. That is not appropriate. It's beyond disrespectful. It's I do agree, that is an assault. They took ice and they threw it as hard as they could at police officer's face. One I think even hitting the back of his neck like it was intentional and it was done with it seemed as though it was done with malice, not with fun.

Speaker 1: It's hard to know it's in somebody's heart, but it's clear that the NYPD was not engaged in a fun snowball fight and engaging in play with these folks. I think folks in a group took an opportunity to assault a police officer without thinking they were going to have consequences. One, it's just snow too. I'm here with a big group, let me just let this out. It felt like that's just do it and we're not going to get in trouble. It's just snow and robes. One of the crime stoppers pictures, you see, they have a picture of a guy standing there with a boulder of snow. Damn near. It's not snowball.

Speaker 2: This wasn't just a fun, light hearted snowball fight. And you know what I from the video that we saw it, I want to give credit to the police officers for mating just a decorum. They did not react emotionally. That would be really hard to do if you just got ice thrown at you.

I know people got problem with police all over the country and tactics, and yes they have been wrong and plenty of things and documented and courts and everything else, but there are plenty of very good and majority good police officers and you don't want to see your robes. I hated to see this type of disrespect shown to a police officer.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, the commission made a point that police officers, so many people in this city work their butts off during the worst of that storm, breathing horrific weather conditions to keep the city safe. And they were among them.

We can get worked up, We work people up. But what if you try to work somebody up in a positive way. Let me get them so fired up that they go do something good, that they do something positive, that they think differently, that they become happy. Why don't we work people up to good deeds? The updates or the significant developments in this case are few and far between. Speaker 1: Yeah, this is according to newly revealed court documents that are giving new details and insight into this case. Ce Les Reebis Hernandez was found in September of last year at the front trunk of an abandoned tesla registered to Singer David. His real name is David Andnthony Burke.

Speaker 2: And while police have remained extremely tight lip throughout this investigation, these new court documents do show that David is in fact the target of a grand jury. It states it is alleged in this case that the target may be involved in the death of fourteen year old victims Celeste Reves Hernandez. Certainly we've heard those names quite a bit over the past year.

Speaker 1: Yeah, they're now taking over for Weinstein in his current criminal case. A trial date was supposed to be in March has been pushed back a little bit, but he does have an upcoming trial. Now they're taking over the current case. His other longtime lawyer that's been representing him is going to focus on the appeals and civil cases. A lot is coming at him again. I'm to be honest with your ropes. I couldn't keep up. I thought it was done, and then he gets something was thrown out and then overturn. I can't keep up. They are state charges, federal I don't know, but this one has to do. This current trial has to do with accusations that he raped a hairstylist back in twenty thirteen.

Speaker 2: Yes, there are, as you point up, federal cases. I think there's a California case, there's the New York case. And yes, Weinstein has been in jail for six years now after that twenty twenty conviction. He also got prison time for a California case. It is very confusing how many different cases he is fielding. And that's just the criminal cases. As you pointed out, there are civil cases as well, quite a few.

It all happened during the State of the Union on Tuesday, and he's already gotten to work on it. He's launching what was dubbed a war on fraud.

Speaker 1: So first move here, he's announced that the administration is going to pause Medicaid payments to Minnesota, a move that will take some two hundred and sixty million dollars from that state this month alone. The FEDS have been investigating fraud in that state related to daycare centers and the misuse of funds. I think everybody is acknowledging, even the governor there, that legit fraud has taken place and we need to look into.

Speaker 2: It absolutely, And so Van says this move is necessary to ensure the state is being good stewards of taxpayer money. Governor Tim Walls didn't agree with that. His response, this has nothing to do with fraud. Cuts will be devastating for veterans, families with young kids, folks with disabilities, and working people across our state.

And we saw, of course Representative Al Green, Democrat of Texas get kicked out of the State of the Union. Back to back years he's been kicked out. She was forcibly removed from the State of the Union after, according to police, she was told to sit down and that she could not have a demonstration in the House chamber. Representative Omar said the woman was charged with disorderly conduct, but also that she'd been manhandled by police and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. So, yes, this is all exhausting and seemingly avoidable, and yet here we are.

He's not giving all the details of his medical condition, but Robes, it sounds much more serious that I mean, it sounds serious. You got to bring them back. And the men's team chuckled, which also created and stirred up some controversy.

Speaker 1: So Knight was asked about it in ESPN and of You and said quote, I thought it was sort of a distasteful joke, and unfortunately that is overshadowing a lot of the success, the success of just women at the Olympics, caring for Team USA and having amazing gold metal feats. She's right, it's not that big of a deal. I think the president had a boy's moment that was caught on camera. But Robes, that is awful for every woman who was representing the US, as if we're after thoughts.

Speaker 1: So if there's a blizzard and there's all this snow, obviously they're going to show up there. So NYPD got called that things were getting a little out of hand, getting aggressive, so they showed up. The mayor has now downplayed the incident as just innocent fun that got out of hand, but the police commissioner and the police union called it flat out assault on police officer.

Speaker 2: That's right. The commissioner wrote this on social media. I want to be clear, the behavior depicted is disgraceful and it is criminal. In fact, and this is fair, two police officers were actually at the hospital, according to the NYPD, with lacerations to their face.

Crime Stoppers here in New York has posted photos of at least two snowball offenders and asking for the public's help and tracking them down for arrest ropes. If you see the video, sounds like a snow these are they. Yeah, this went beyond. This wasn't playful, This wasn't fun.

They took ice and they threw it as hard as they could at police officer's face. I think folks in a group took an opportunity to assault a police officer without thinking they were going to have consequences. One, it's just snow too. One of the crime stoppers pictures, you see, they have a picture of a guy standing there with a boulder of snow. Damn near. It's not snowball.

I know people got problem with police all over the country and tactics, and yes they have been wrong and plenty of things and documented and courts and everything else, but there are plenty of very good and majority good police officers and you don't want to see your robes.
