We have not seen a single frame of any of these shows. But there was some history made and some pretty cool moments. Also, I want to tell you on the run this morning that redistricting race certainly is on. Also, Trump really wants to fire Lisa Cook. Also, a bomb was found under a news vehicle in Utah and Anime ain't scared of the conjuring at all, apparently when you look at the box office, but Roles, we do have to start with a number of significant new details and updates in the killing of Charlie Kirk, including details about his public memorial. Also, we heard from his wife over the weekend for the first time, Plus a man was arrested for vandalizing a makeshift memorial outside of Kirk's company headquarters. That video is awfully disturbing, no matter who you are.

Speaker 2: Yeah, you called me over to look at it, and it really is jaw dropping. And we do begin our run on this Monday with the latest on the investigation. Authorities are still trying to determine a motive and say the suspect is not cooperating with.

Speaker 1: Yeah, you talk Governor Spencer Cox. I guess he's been the one who's been the face of the investigation in a lot of ways. But he was all over the place yesterday doing the rounds on the Sunday morning shows and gave a lot of new details, and he said the suspect, twenty two year old Tyler Robinson, has not confessed to authorities and revealed a number of other new details. He said Robinson was a four point zero student, said he was a good kid, even I think quoted his act score, which was a good one. He said doesn't know what happened to him, how he got radicalized online, but said he did spend a lot of time on what he called robes, the deep dark Internet.

Speaker 2: I've heard people refer to that all the time, and I still don't know what it is or how to get on. Not that I want to, but that's a whole other world I am so unfamiliar with. But Cox also claimed that Robinson had a leftist ideology, even though he comes from a family of conservatives, and the governor mentioned Robinson's roommate, remember the one who got the text messages afterwards and shared them with police. Well, he said that roommate was actually a romantic partner of Robinson's and that the roommate is a male transitioning to female now.

Speaker 1: I also mentioned this roommate is cooperating fully with authorities, and the governor said he does not believe the roommate had any prior knowledge about the shooting, but added they are trying to figure out if the roommate's transitioning has any relevance to the shooting. So he mentions it, and the reporter have just followed up and said does have anything to do They say they're trying to determine if that has anything to do with it.

Speaker 2: It's interesting because the question asked to Kirk right before he was shot was referring to how many trans shooters there were in mass shooting, So that is interesting, all right. Next up on the run, Plans for Charlie Kirk's public memorial have been released. It will take place next Sunday, September twenty first at State Farms Stadium. It's in Glendale, Arizona, of course, home to the Arizona Cardinals, so they will be able to have quite a few people attend.

Speaker 1: Their fixed seating is about sixty four thousand they can get into place, and they can get up to seventy almost seventy five thousand in there. So it's that turnout. It's going to be something. And already I think I've seen some of the networks are planning their life coverage. So you will be able to see it. Also want to mention that Charlie Kirk's wife, Erica, she spoke publicly for the first time since her husband's death. This was on Friday, and she did it in his studio. It was at a podium that was set up next to the chair where he would sit and do his broadcast, and she pledged to continue her husband's work and had a message for those who want to silence their movement.

We're also expecting Vice President Jadie Vance to host Charlie Kirk's podcast. That is going to happen today. A lot of people, of course, will be tuning in for that.

Also on the run here, we want to mention that a nineteen year old is under arrest for vandalizing the Charlie Kirk memorial that's set up at the Turning Point USA headquarters there in Phoenix. This entire thing is caught on camera, including the arrest. Now robes you, I've been looking. I don't care who you are and what you think about politics and Charlie Kirk's politics. When you see someone doing what this person is doing on camera, it is you can't be anything but disgusting.

Speaker 2: At one point, a bystander and he was a really big dude, snatches the nineteen year old from the memorial and tosses him to the ground before police come in and make the arrest. And honestly, you're cheering this guy on, like yeah, you're really like you can't believe someone is doing this when people are trying to pay their respects.

Wow, So don't know what's on it, but it seems to be a similar shirt. What that all means? But yeah, nineteen year old right.

Speaker 1: We're already on edge, and to that point, now on edge, we are robes that they are looking for some money to protect people in our executive and judicial branches. The Trump administration asking Congress for fifty eight million dollars for added to for security. Now, this is going to support to protect members of Congress. But the money that Congress will get to protect themselves, they have to figure that out. Don't have this right. The White House is just asking specifically for this money for judicial and executive brand security.

Speaker 2: Yes, and they said, hey, you folks in the legislative branch, knock yourselves out. We support you getting more security, but you'll have to figure out how to fund it. So they kind of just left them on their own to figure their own security out. And several members of Congress have already beefed up their personal security. They've canceled outdoor events over the weekend, and a lot of these congressmen and women are saying like indefinitely, they are canceling all outdoor events. Kirk's assassination, you know, is the latest in a number of recent attacks on politicians. When you look at the list, this is just in the past you know year, including the murder of Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, the attempted murder of her Democratic colleague and his wife, the arson attack on Pennsylvania's governor, and of course the both assassination attempts on President Trump.

Speaker 1: This is embarrassing, you know, we have so many sometimes that you go, oh, I forgot about that one offered I'm looking now like, oh, yeah, that's right. I know the arson attack and the guy and that killed the Minnesota lawmaker. Wasn't he driving around?

Speaker 2: Now, yes, he was going to go for another but they were on vacation, like it was really scary.

And folks, we're in a bigger city here, but in smaller communities, these congress members of Congress go back to their districts in those little town halls and going to the state fair that is so critical to what they do and such out of local politics. When this will, I guess all come back. But man, I hate that part of the politics is going away, continuing on the run. Here and get this, folks, two men under arrest terrorism charges for allegedly placing a bomb under a news vehicle. This happened in Salt Lake City. Now this certainly got a lot of eyebrows going up robes because wait a minute, what's going on here? Salt Lake of course, Utah, But it's not far forty miles or so from where Charlie Kirk was killed on that campus last week. Now, police aren't making a connection, but you can't help but think what the hell is going on?

Speaker 2: Well, look, I will say this, having covered stories that are deeply emotional a specifically new town, people who live in the area get upset at all the news vehicles and all the media that descends upon these areas to cover issues like this, And certainly it would it would be understandable if that was part of this. We don't know, but police city incendiary device was found under a Fox thirteen news van, and Fox thirteen is the local Salt.

Speaker 1: They said it could have done all kinds of catastrophic damage had it gone off. Those suspects were tracked down at their home. Police found other incendiary devices, found a bunch of weapons. The two men, ages fifty eight and thirty one, facing a number of charges, including threat of terrorism, possession of weapons of mass destruction, possessing explosive device. No motive, like, what was the point? What were they up to? But they had to evacuate this neighborhood. They had enough stuff in there that if something had gone off, Wow, they had.

Speaker 2: Next up on the run, President Trump apparently really wants to fire Lisa Cook. He is asking a court to make that emergency ruling today and to grant him the authority to fire her from her role on the Federal Reserve.

Well, well, he actually already fired her, but she sued and won last week when a judge said her firing was on lawful and said she could keep her job. The administration appealed that decision and yesterday asked a federal appeals court to quickly side with the president.

Speaker 2: What's the rush, you ask, Oh, yeah, the Federal Reserve is set to start it's two day meeting tomorrow where they will decide on interest rates, and Trump is trying to get her out of the mix because he wants.

Speaker 1: Every expert is saying that they are going to lower this time a quarter point. The president might want something bigger, maybe a half point, which is something if he gets his other person, which he has nominated for Lisa Cook's role, if he gets that person on, then he might have more influence.

Speaker 1: Oh yes, good point to mention. This is the first time in history that a president has fired a federal Reserve governor in history, and she happens to be the first, yeah, to be on it. Now. He originally fired her for cause he claims she had lied on a mortgage application by designating two properties as her primary residence, thereby getting more favorable loan terms. However, the AP and other organizations now news organizations have tracked down documents in which she identified and claimed that a home was a vacation home or a second home they have seen, which is proper yeah, which is completely opposite of what Trump has been saying.

Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, she did all right. Well. Next up on the run, the redistricting race, is on in Missouri's Republican legislature approved their own Trump backed redistricting plan on Friday and it goes to the governor's desk for a signature.

Speaker 1: Yeah, their new redrawn congressional map is set to now give Republicans possibly one more seat in Congress. Is it going to happen? We don't know because lawsuits have now been filed. But as you know, Texas did this first, they redistrict, then California followed suit and retaliation. Voters out there are still going to have to prove ultimate, but we might roase just be getting started with this. Indiana and Florida. It's a real thing in those two states, and it's being discussed everywhere. We have a redistricting race that is on now. So it's insane determine Congress. We are changing the numbers to give us a win or this side or that side.

The Studio won Best Comedy Series and broken Emmy's record for the most Emmys won by a comedy in a single season. They won thirteen and surpassed the previous record of eleven, which was held by The Bear in twenty twenty three. The Bear is a comedy, Yeah, and people were confused by that.

Speaker 1: Yes, I'm quite confused now. Adolescents and the Pit also took uh home the other top prizes of the night. The biggest applause of the evening, and this was an extended standing ovation, was for Stephen Gobert. His show won Best Talk Series. It won right after CBS announced that Best Talk Series is going to be canceled, right, so this was a big moment, and you know, they wanted to give him his moment, give him his flowers at the time and the standing ovation and all that. It was a cool moment and it was all happening on CBS.

Fifteen year old Owen Cooper became the youngest male winner in any acting category after winning Supporting Actor for his role in Adolescence. This was his first acting gig too, By the way, how cool was that fifteen? And he looked all of it like he looked so young and it was really cool.

Speaker 2: I thought Seth Rogan looked amazing last night. That's the best I've ever seen him. Look I love brown velvet. Who would have thought all the other big first get this? This was kind of a shocker. Tremmel Tillman became the first black man, first black man to win Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in Severance. It's twenty twenty five. I was so shocked to read that.

I could not believe it's seventy eighty years now we're talking about with the Emmys. Say what, I was bown that we still have the first black to those cats still happens.

Speaker 2: I use a scratch my but you know what, there were a lot of snubs last night, namely white Lotus got nothing. And it went into the Emmys with ten nominations. Four of the six Best Actresses were all white Lotus folks. They were saying that they thought maybe they split the vote, and that's what happened. They ended up kind of unfortunately doing themselves in by having too many from the same from the same series after the same award.

At the end of the they were negative sixty thousand, which was kind of funny, but CBS and Nate brought it up to three hundred and fifty k at the end. You knew they weren't going to let them go empty handed. But it was a fun little bit.
