Speaker 2: I was reading an article about what women want, or what mothers really want for Mother's Day. And it's funny because at a time in my life I would have agreed. Now I'm very different, but the number one thing that women wanted was time alone. Is it really Yeah, away from their kids, away from the chaos, just whether it's a massage or a nail appointment or just whatever. It was a surprising thing, and I do recall there being a point in my life where I would have agreed with that. Now, I want to spend time with my kids, So.

For Father's Day it was way way lower. They do have an average per person that has done. I think it's a sixty or seventy dollars difference how much it's spent on mom versus how much ready Dad, And it should.

We will make our first two stops on the two big stories that robes continue to change, it seems every day by the minute. There's still some confusion attachment to both of these stories, but certainly concern all over the world really regarding these two stories, Iran and the hantavirus ship.

Speaker 2: Yes, I actually wrote this first line. We begin our run with the non war in Iran, because that's what we're told it is. We also keep being told that the ceasefire is holding in this non war, even though the US in Iran keep firing at each other.

Speaker 1: Yeah, latest incident did happen yesterday andwhere else? But in the Strait of horr Moods. The Iranians fired on three US Navy destroyers. They sustain no damage, apparently shot down repelled all of those attacks. But according to the President, the US responded with self defense strikes. Now, even with all of this, literally the two sides at war fired at each other during a ceasefire. But we're told this is not a break in the ceasefire, and the President keeps saying rodes that the talks are going well.

Speaker 2: All right, We'll keep listening for word on that. But next up on the run, the CDC is now classifying the hauntavirus outbreak as a Level three emergency.

The first up here is that the UK announced they do have a suspected case of hantavirus and a British national who lives on one of the remote islands where the crew ship stopped. That's key roads because this is someone who never set foot on the ship.

A French citizen though, who was on that plane is now also being tested after what's being described as benign symptoms. That's what she apparently is experiencing a pontavirus, whatever those are. Speaker 1: I Meanwhile, while back here in the US, there is concern and they are monitoring several folks. Five states are monitoring passengers who returned from that particular infected ship. Those folks were in states Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Arizona, and California. Nobody's reporting symptoms up to this point, but robes they are monitoring each of them. Some states are actually giving more information than others about exactly what that monitoring is, even how many possible people that are being monitored.

Trade Court ruled that his tempercent tariffs are invalid. These are the same tariffs he put in place to replace the other tariffs that the Supreme Court struck down in February. This was two dozen states. Several businesses now are entitled to refunds on tariffs that have been paid. This is just a mess. Rose but the administration is expected to appeal.

Speaker 1: It's the place where you have a cluster of black folks. Historic, a historic city like that is being cut up from the representation it had. Yes, Steve Cohen, you know is may not know the name, but if you see his face, he's a long time representative of that area. Says he's not going to sue to stop this, but they're taking Memphis Robes which is a majority black city, one of the few in the state where you have this cluster of black folks, and they're taking that district and splitting it into three. So it is going to reduce the possibility of having a representative that black folks chose. And Steve Cohen, we don't know what's going to happen to him, but all this is happening Tennessee other Republican states. In Bolden, at the Supreme Court decision that weakened parts of the Voting Rights Act robes what they're saying. They're not shy about it. They said, yep, we are going to jerrymander for partisan reasons, as long as we don't do it for racial reasons. Supreme Court says, we're cool, and that's legally what the they can do that?

Speaker 2: The USPS has proposed a rule change that would allow people to ship handguns to one another. This has is something that has been barred by the Postal Service since nineteen twenty seven. The question why would they want to do this.

Speaker 1: Now they're making Yes, they're making a Second Amendment claim. Justice Apartment says the Second Amendment precluded the government from shipping constitutionally protected fire arms. Now, you could only ship a handgun to someone within state lines. If this does go through and gets approved, shipping from different to a different state, you can't ship to somebody else. They're actually trying to apply something in there to where if you're a hunter and you're taking a trip, you could ship your gun to yourself. You have to receive it. On the other end, they're getting very specific here what they're trying to do, but already you got attorneys general fighting this in many states. The public comment time has ended. Both are used in overlapping markets and directed at the same customers.

They're actually trying to apply something in there to where if you're a hunter and you're taking a trip, you could ship your gun to yourself. You have to receive it.
