Speaker 1: Morning Run with Amy and TJ. An iHeartRadio Podcast. Good morning, everybody, Welcome to this Morning Run. It is Monday, April sixth I'm TJ. Holmes. This is yes Amy and TJ's Morning Run minus Amy. This morning. You just got me. But we got a lot of stops to make on the run those morning, including in Phoenix, Arizona. We're gonna make a stop in London at JFK Airport, at Rockefeller Plaza, stop at the Vatican, as well as a stop at the fore side of the Moon. But we have to start this morning with what is a developing and don't know how encouraging story about the war in Iran. Reuters and Axios supporting this morning that a forty five day ceasefire plan has been passed along to Iran and the United States for possible discussion that would come or bring this war right now to an immediate stop at least ceasefire. They say forty five days now. This did not come from Iran or US during negotiations. This came apparently from other Middle East mediators who passed it along to Iran and the US. As of this recording, we have not gotten a response from either side. Iranian officials or US officials about this. But at least this news is out two news outlets reporting that a forty five day cease fire at least a proposal is being passed around. Meanwhile, President Trump this weekend put Iran and really the world on notice with a somewhat shocking, profanity laced social media post. It was everywhere yesterday. A lot of people were talking about it. But it was the holiday weekend, so maybe a lot of people miss this. But this is what the President sent on social media yesterday. Quote, Tuesday will be power plant day and bridge day, all wrapped up in won in Iran. There will be nothing like it. Open the effing straight, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in hell. Just watch Praise be to Allah. That is what the President sent out on Easter Sunday, that message. He followed that message up with a later message that simply said, Tuesday, eight o'clock Eastern time. Do he want you to know? The President sent those messages out after we had gotten word that the one service member who has stuck, who was on the run essentially in Iran after the F fifteen fighter went down over the weekend. He was recovered, said to be doing okay. Was seriously injured, but he had to evade Iranian authorities who were trying to capture him over the past several days. US got to him first and did get him out. The President says they will have a press conference today at one o'clock Eastern time in the Oval Office with military officials, so we should get a significant update now all the rhetoric over the weekend from the President. Iran well, of course had a response, and at this point we're used to them being a little snarky. This was their response to the President, saying, open up the effing straight. They said, quote, we've lost the keys. That was their response. President Trump had more to say yesterday as well, who ABC News. If it happens, it happens, and if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country, saying, if it happens a deal is reached, or if it doesn't happen. If it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country. He also had this, He told Axios quote, there is a good chance, but if they don't make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there. Those words from the President now and a lot of people are really really hoping that something happens before Tuesday at eight o'clock, which is the new deadline the president has given. Now, all this rhetoric from the President as we continue on the run prompted one prominent Democrat to suggest that the president be removed from office. Senator Chris Murphy, as a prominent Democrat out of Connecticut, did send this out on social media yesterday. Quote, if I were in Trump's cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the twenty fifth Amendment. He's already killed thousands, He's going to kill thousands more. Now. He went on and called the president unhinged in the language and suggesting, Yes, the twenty fifth Amendment. You are familiar with it from school, I guess. But it has been invoked in the past and our history, but usually when a president has surgery or it has happened when President Reagan was shot, it's never been invoked in section four. That section four says that the president can actually be removed. You can assume the powers and duties acting as president if the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. This would take a majority vote of the president's cabinet. This is being suggested, yes, by a senator, a Democratic senator from Connecticut, but there are no indications at all that this has any chance in hell of happening, and that is being talked about anywhere within the White House. With all this going on and the tough rhetoric as we continue here on this morning run, the concern for a lot of Americans. We because you see it every day gas prices. Gas prices continue to tick up. We are now sitting at four dollars in twelve cents a gallon as a national average, and our good friends in California, you all are playing the highest in the country, almost six bucks now, but it's at five dollars and ninety three cents a gallon. Continuing on the run here now, the next leg text us over to the Vatican where Pope Leo gave his first Easter Mass as pope, and once again he called for peace. You've seen some of his comments over the past couple of weeks calling for world leaders to stop the wars, even called Trump out by name, saying he was hoping he could find an off ramp. Well, the call for piece yesterday from the probe he said, let us allow our hearts to be transformed by his immense love for us. Let those who have weapons lay them down. Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace, not a piece imposed by force, but through dialogue. Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them, those words from Pope Leo yesterday. We continue next leg of our run. Now it takes us to London where Kanye West is in. So Pepsi is out. The soda company has pulled out as the major sponsor of the Wireless Festival. Don't know if you know about this, but it is a major rap hip hop festival that takes place in North London. Now. It was scheduled to happen later this summer. Well, event organizers recently announced that Ya it's what the official name is now Yay would be the headliner, and so sponsors started bouncing. Pepsi was the latest. They're not the only one. Diagio, the drink company, also said it would not sponsor the event as it stands now. You also had Keir Starmer, the British Prime Minister, was critical of them having Ya as a headliner. Don't know how much we need to explain about the artists formerly known as Kanye West's past. But he has, of course the past couple of years, made some pretty harsh anti Semitic comments, selling things with Nazi insignia on, and he had a song called Hile Hitler. He did have a big apology and explained he was going through something mentally, but still that's a lot of people have not and will not forget that anytime soon. Continuing on the run, now, today is the day it becomes official artemus astronauts will fly farther than any human has flown before. This is gonna be a fun schedule. It kind of starts around two o'clock afternoon Eastern time today and it really continues through about nine o'clock at night. But they are going to whip around the moon this afternoon. At that point, they'll be farther than any human has gone before. They're going to see things on the far side of the Moon that no human eyes have ever seen. So this all gets started one forty six pm Eastern time, but they're not gonna come out the other side. It's not gonna be done until about nine o'clock. There will be a forty minute communication blackout at some point. Now that sounds scary to us, but this is par for the course. They know what they're doing. This is expected. Even some of the folks had nasty if you joked about it to be a good time for a bathroom break or to reflect or something. But that is happening today as well. But keep a close eye. Today's show anchor was in her seat this morning seven o'clock Eastern for the first time since her mother disappeared, or as authorities to believe, she was abducted. That was on February first, and she has not been at work since until today. Now for the most part, watching the show, a lot of it looked and I'm sure it was intentional for it to be business as usual. She didn't come out and they made a big hubbub about her being back. She came out and said it's good to be home. Then she said ready or not, let's do the news, and then they were right off. She continued on me. She cracked jokes at sometimes, did the anchor banter and whatever else you would expect and very much looked like a normal show in getting back to business as usual. But it was a very nice and a little bizarre to a certain degree to look at her knowing what's going on with her mom and at how she's trying to move on and get back to some sense of normalcy. Did Gangbusters also tell you this morning? A plane left Jamaica with a certain number of passengers this weekend. It landed at JFK with one extra. It's there, all right. Continuing on this Monday Morning run, congrat relations to the women of UCLA. They won their first ever women's National Championship basketball championship last night. And look, we wait all year and really want to see a good game, and it wasn't. It was impressive what they did and what they pulled off with this was not a competitive game. They beat a powerhouse team South Carolina seventy nine to fifty one, seventy nine to fifty one. The game was really not in question at any point in the second half. But again UCLA's first ever women's national championship in basketball. Congratulations to them. Certainly hoping for a better show or more competitive game at least tonight, Yukon taking on Michigan number one seed Michigan a two seed Yukon. But the final four this weekend, Michigan actually blew out Arizona. That was looking We were all looking forward to that as being a battle of heavyweights. That game wasn't competitive. But Michigan versus Yukon tonight for the National championship heads up here. This is Yukon's third title in four years. And get this, in Yukon's history, they have never lost in a national championship game. They've made it to the final four once before and they lost in the semi final. But anytime they make it to the final game they have won six times previously. So are they gonna stay undefeated in national championship games? Just a little something to keep an eye on tonight. Also over the weekend Super Mario Galaxy movie, the sequel to the twenty twenty three mega hit. Well, this thing was. Critics weren't really feeling it. The audience doesn't care, because this movie did. Gangbusters made one hundred and ninety million dollars domestically. Now this was over five days. The weekend started last Wednesday, I guess because they had a long holiday weekend with Easter. So over the five days it made one hundred and ninety two excuse me, one hundred ninety million dollars domestically, but worldwide it picked up three hundred and seventy two point five million dollars. Comparing that to the previous Super Mario movie, it's only a few million less, so it's almost doing as well as that first one that did great. Also at the box office this weekend, hell Mary was number two, and then the new one, the drama uh one Zendia and Robert Pattinson. Right, yes, that was number three at the box office. And finally, baby on board the plane. The baby wasn't there when we took off, but the baby's here when we land. Yes, this was over the weekend. This happened on Saturday. A baby was born on a flight from Jamaica to j FK, the woman went into labor. There's audio from the cockpit to the tower in which they say, yeah, we have a lady, if you're going into labor. The baby's born, and the tower and the pilot are kind of joking back and forth, and the person in the tower at JFK says, a wonderful old name the baby Kennedy. We don't know actually, but we're told mom, baby doing okay. But we don't have any other d details, but congrats. Always a cool story.
