Speaker 2: I'm TJ Holmes, and we are all to a very very busy Monday, breaking news happening all around. So we want to get right to a couple of major stories, one having to do with the war in Iran and now a moving deadline by President Trump which has now excited markets about the direction the war could be going. We'll get into that that just happened moments ago this recording. But the other big story, ropes, is happening at one of the major airports in this country, which as we are speaking, is shut down.

Speaker 1: Yes, we are talking about New York's LaGuardia Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country. It is closed after a passenger plane crashed into an emergency vehicle on the tarmac late last night. It happened just before midnight again at LaGuardia, when an Air Canada jet had just landed from Montreal.

Speaker 2: Yeah, the fire truck was on the runway responding to a totally separate incident. It was going to help another plane that was out there. We hear the air traffic controller telling this truck essentially give them the ok to cross this particular runway ropes and then moments later stop stop, stop, stop, stop, trying to get them to stop, and obviously at that point it was too late. Had seventy two passengers four crew on board ropes. I know you will keeping a closer eye on these numbers. But we have two dead, the pilot and co pilot, but a lot of people were injured.

Speaker 1: Forty one passengers and crew on that plane were taken to the hospital. The two people who were operating the port authority officers who were operating that emergency vehicle also sent to the hospital. We know that there are nine remaining people hospitalized right now, some of them are in serious condition.

Speaker 2: Well, that's a lot of folks. And again they tell us that the airport will be closed until at least two o'clock. But they say that as well, at least until two, we do not know what the day is going to look like at the nation's airports. And then the northeast, we even got weather moving in now, So this is a mess, but a n two dead, and this of course chaotic time, because today is the day robes that we were supposed to see help at the airports. ICE agents we're supposed to help with security starting today, according to the President.

Speaker 1: We heard as many as fourteen airports will have ICE agents in them right now, but we're not exactly sure what they'll be doing. We heard from borders are Tom Holman, who is supposed to be overseeing this deployment. I guess you could call it into the nation's airport. The President has put him in charge, and he said the agents are trained.

Speaker 1: They know how to expedite a line, so they could carry out duties that don't require specific TSA training like looking at the X ray machine, etc. So this is about crowd control more than anything. So we'll see how that goes.

Speaker 2: All right, Well, the reminder hear all this is going on because TSA agents have been calling out almost in mass at some airports. But the call out rates around eleven percent. We were told this weekend eleven and a half percent. That's the highest we have seen. This is all because they've been working without pay since this partial shutdown started on February fourteenth. DHS says at least four hundred agents have quit since the shutdown started. That call out rate we talk about eleven and a half percent nationally, but rod places like Lookward at JFK, a couple of airports in Houston, some players are seeing twenty thirty, forty percent, and sometimes even fifty percent. Yes, he has a agent's calling out.

Speaker 2: But now he is saying never mind. As of this morning. Again, this was within moments of this recording, the President did backtrack. He give us an update on social media on his true social post, saying he is moving or at least not doing that forty eight hour deadline anymore, saying, quote, I am pleased to report that the United States and the country of Iran have had over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East robes.

Speaker 2: That's everything he said. They have been talking. It is productive about ending it all. Now, he says, continuing here, based on the tenor and tone of these in depth, detailed and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five day period. And again, he says, subject to how these meetings go. But Rod now he did say postpone any and all military strikes against power plants and energy infrastructure. I wanted to make sure, as he's saying, stopping every is a ceaspire.

Speaker 1: So that's what I was actually going to ask too. Is this basically a precursor to a ceasefire? Is this a temporary ceasefire, or is this just a very specific we won't bomb these exact locations unclear. Iran had threatened by the way to attack power plants in the Middle East, the power American military basis. If Trump had gone through with that and for good measure, they added, don't doubt that we will do that. So look, this is a good development, a positive development, and we will stay on.

Thousands of people are without power and thousands more have been under evacuation orders in areas just north of Honolulu after heavy rains over the weekend.

As an estimate that this is going to cost a billion this disaster in the end, and they have done at least a couple hundred rescues have had to happen out there. But the year they're going through it. Speaker 1: The Minnesota Wild also posted on their Instagram page saying they are heartbroken by this tragedy. The cause of the fire. It happened in the early morning hours of Saturday. It remains under investigation, and her husband was out of town. But she had just been posting all these pictures of her family the day before. They're all over social media. I mean, heartbreaking doesn't even begin to explain what happened. I just can't even imagine her husband, Mike, finding out this news. What do you do? I just my heart is breaking for them all right. Next up on the Run, we are also just learning news that actress Carrie Anne Fleming. If you look her up, you'll recognize her face. She just passed away from breast cancer.

She did other things too, but certainly that was her lane, so she would definitely be familiar to us and for anyone who's a horror movie fan. But her co star on Supernatural described Fleming like this, she was a powerhouse of vitality and goodwill and amazingly good nature, with a rapturous laugh and an utterly adorable personality that didn't seem to have an off switch. Is by her daughter, Madeleine Rose. But it is just a shame to have to cover something like this. But our hearts go out to all those who knew and loved her.

They're actually having to take all of the air traffic controllers and move them to a backup facility on site. So in the meantime, as you might imagine, no control tower, no flights, so a complete ground stop at Newark right now as of I believe eight ten am Eastern time is when it started, so God only knows how long that's going on. In addition to now LaGuardia Airport completely shut down.

If you had no plans to go to a movie this weekend, a lot of people probably were at least aware of one movie that was coming out. Ryan Gosling has been everywhere.
