Despite all the cold outside and the horrible videos that keep popping up, and the back and forth and the partial shutdown that's coming, and the lights that are still out and the flights that are still getting canceled. But glad, as always you all spending some time here with us. It's fascinating. I thought it was just us, but looking at everybody's in the deepreez to see the Hudson River frozen the way it's been. We thought it was just us. Oh, we haven't seen it like this, but we've seen the meteor. I'll just talk about it.

And in fact, the massive ferry system that gets people to and from New Jersey and s Dton Island and all those places around, they are actually having to now modify their schedules. They're having to break ice. That's how cold it is here. I'm actually sitting here recording this with my hand like underneath my legs to try and warm it. We've got the heat blasting and I still can't feel warm. It's that's how cold it is.

The run will take us this morning to Ohio, to South Carolina, to Texas, to Tel Aviv and yes, right here in New York City. But we have to begin in Minneapolis, where robes I spoke too soon. Yesterday seemed to be certainly a big day and a big deal of what were positive developments. Even heard the word d escalate, come out of the president's mouth. But we spoke to soon because a town hall meeting last night kind of changed things. This town hall meeting is a representative ilhan Omar was making a speech and was going to take questions and she was attacked by a man who sprayed her with what's being described as a strong smelling liquid. This was all caught on camera. It's being called a syringe, but it was coming out of a something that kind of a small couple of squirts.

Speaker 1: Yes, it was some squirts. Yes, that's a weird word to have to say at any point, but that's the best way to describe it. Fifty five year old Anthony kaz Merzak was sitting in the front row when you see him, because this was all caught on camera, rushing the congresswoman as she was saying that Christy No must resign or face impeachment. So yes, he used a syringe like thing to spray her shirt with the liquid, and then within seconds security guard tackled him, handcuffed him. And people have made note of how ilhan Omar reacted. She didn't cower, she didn't get up, she chased after him. I mean, she was visibly upset. She raised a fist to him even and within minutes was back of the podium continuing her speech. She was physically unharmed, we should point out.

Didn't notice this morning when I will up, at least the number one trending topic on x was the word staged. Speaker 1: Yes, So there will be more to come with that situation, but there was a lot more to talk about from Minneapolis, a major shift in the narrative from the Trump administration, which had been giving us hope and continues to still offer much needed hope in that area. Trump officials are evalued. You waiting right now why border agents, they say, may not have been following protocol leading up to the fatal shooting of Alex Preddy. So we now know from a DHS investigation that two agents fired shots at Preddy, and there was no mention in that report that Preddy attempted to reach for his weapon in the scuffle. And that's a major departure from those initial statements. We got that called Preddy an assassin, a domestic terrorist who was out to massacre federal agents.

Speaker 2: And the President was in Iowa last night giving a speech. He did make several comments there of Node, but he did tell a crowd there that both of those killings were terrible.

Now the Congress is controlled by Republicans, the chance of this impeachment actually happing are zero, I should say, But the new chief the Borders are Tom Holman is in town now in Minneapolis. He did meet with the governor and Minneapolis mayor yesterday said their conversations were productive, so at least they're talking and got to start somewhere, and this at least is a start, maybe a deductive and.

It searched to forty two after that massive winter storm blanketed most of the country. Tragic stories are emerging from across the country. I was telling you about this morning. It's just heartbreaking. There's one in particular. They're all heartbreaking. But three young brothers, ages six, eight, and nine all died falling through a frozen pond. The older two brothers died trying to save their younger brother. But the big story remains this dangerously cold weather. The temperatures are here to stay for most of the South, the Midwest, in the Northeast through next week.

Speaker 2: And get this, Nashville, they are warning parent out there. They say they have treated nearly fifty children for carbon monoxide exposure. They said this has happened since Sunday, which, of course when the storm started hitting in that area. Of families trying to heat their homes during the power outages and roads, they're trying to heat them with these space heaters and these gas heaters and things inside desperate in moments, and this is happening. So meteorologists continue to warn of now another potential storm this when they're calling a nor'easter. We're starting to hear the phrase bomb cyclone being thrown around. But they say it's brewing for this weekend and could bring more snow ice to the South, mid Atlantic and New England, exactly where we don't need more of that stuff.

Guess what, and this is a positive development. It's now in need of a new name. The stopwatch that had been a centerpiece of that square. It counted every second since Hamas kidnapped those two hundred and fifty one Israelis on October seventh, twenty twenty three. Well, it was shut off last night. That's a big deal. It happened in a ceremony, a somber ceremony, after the final body of the last remaining hostage was returned this week.

Speaker 2: So get this, folks, First time in twelve years, first time in twelve years that there are no known Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip first time. It's twenty fourteen. There is now talk of renaming the square to Returnees Square. But this is a significant development. It's one thing for the action to actually take place, but this was very symbolic. We've been had our eyes on that spot for a long time. Continuing on the run here now on this Wednesday, getting new information and the Columbus double murder of that Ohio dentist and his wife. New court docs show the ex husband of Monique Tepi and thirty nine year old Michael McKee is his name is the man police have now charged with the murders of Spencer and Monique. He told Monique he could quote kill her at any time and would find her and buy the house right next to her, and that she would always be his wife.

According to AffA David's in the case that have just been released, McKee has been described as being obsessed with his ex wife, despite the fact that they divorced nearly a decade ago after a very quick less than two year marriage. Now friends and family of the couple said McKee had been abusive and had made numerous threats on her life during and after their marriage. One witness told investigators Monique claimed her ex husband choked her and forced her to have unwanted sex while they were married. Now a few weeks before the murders were just learning about the security cameras reportedly captured McKee going into the Teppe's home while they were at the Big Ten championship game in Indiana.

Speaker 2: Yeah witnesses told police that Monique actually left that game early, went back to the hotel before the end end of the game. Husband told friends that she was upset about something having to do with her ex husband. Monique An Spencer Teppe were found dead December thirtieth. Their two young children, one and four, were found in the home unharmed at the time. Key has pleaded not guilty. He is a vascular surgeon who was working at an Illinois hospital at the time of his arrests all Right.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run. The first execution of twenty twenty six is happening tonight in Texas. Fifty five year old Charles Victor Thomas was convicted in the nineteen ninety eight double murder of his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend. This is sounding eerily similar to the situation in the Teppe murders. Prosecutors say Thompson and Hayslip had been romantically involved for a year, but then they broke up after Thompson reportedly became increasingly possessive, jealous, and abusive. So now, nearly thirty years after those murders, Thompson is scheduled to die by lethal injection tonight. He was convicted of killing Denise Hayslip and Darren kine H.

Speaker 2: Thompson also made headlines twenty years ago when he escaped from jail during a retrial of his case. His case subject of an episode of the Netflix docuseries I Am a Killer. Hayslip's son, the victim's son, who is thirteen at the time of the murder, says he plans to be among the witnesses at tonight's execution.

Speaker 1: Yes, he has already traveled from his home of Chicago down to Texas to be there for tonight's execution. All right, next up on the run. There are now seven hundred and eighty nine documented cases of measles in South Carolina, and eighty nine of those cases were just confirmed in the past few days. That number is significant because it surpasses last year's West Texas outbreak that sickned seven hundred and sixty two people and killed two children. Now, most of these cases are in the Spartanburg area of South Carolina and are among unvaccinated people, the majority of them children and teenagers YEA.

Speaker 2: At least twenty three schools in the state have students in quarantine. Health officials say the outbreak is not onunder control. Started last fall and now known cases directly linked to South Carolina go as far as California, as well as North Carolina, Washington and maybe Ohio as well. We did report the US now at risk of losing its measles elimination status. I can't remember how long, at least twenty five plus years. I believe, yes, they've had that. Yes, So the way they determine that is if they find out that these strings are linked over the course of a year. So I guess Texas is where this all started, and that one kind of tamped down. But now if that one is found to be linked to South Carolina and these others, so it's a big deal. Measles is not something we're supposed to be dealing.

It's being called a shocker in the NFL, and it is garnering significant reaction from just about everybody. I did as you just heard Tjsay put together in the morning Run today, and I'm not so keen on putting sports stories in here, but this one was glaring and felt like a necessary story in today's morning run, Bill Belichick is not getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He didn't get the necessary votes he needed. I think he needed forty out of fifty, and this was his first year of eligibility. So that's why this is such a big deal.

You don't know anything about the basketball Hall of Fame, but you know the first chance that Michael Jordan gets to go in, he's going to go in. That kind of a thing, Bill bet there's nothing to talk about. The only debate is if he's the greatest coach ever, not whether or not he's good enough to get into the Hall of Fame. This is embarrassing. Shut it down. It's completely pointless. They are arguing that people are trying to punish him for Spygate and deflate Gate.

According to AffA David's in the case that have just been released, McKee has been described as being obsessed with his ex wife, despite the fact that they divorced nearly a decade ago after a very quick less than two year marriage. Now friends and family of the couple said McKee had been abusive and had made numerous threats on her life during and after their marriage. One witness told investigators Monique claimed her ex husband choked her and forced her to have unwanted sex while they were married. Now a few weeks before the murders were just learning about the security cameras reportedly captured McKee going into the Teppe's home while they were at the Big Ten championship game in Indiana.

Husband told friends that she was upset about something having to do with her ex husband. Monique An Spencer Teppe were found dead December thirtieth. He is a vascular surgeon who was working at an Illinois hospital at the time of his arrests all Right.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run. The first execution of twenty twenty six is happening tonight in Texas. Fifty five year old Charles Victor Thomas was convicted in the nineteen ninety eight double murder of his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend. This is sounding eerily similar to the situation in the Teppe murders. Prosecutors say Thompson and Hayslip had been romantically involved for a year, but then they broke up after Thompson reportedly became increasingly possessive, jealous, and abusive. So now, nearly thirty years after those murders, Thompson is scheduled to die by lethal injection tonight. He was convicted of killing Denise Hayslip and Darren kine H.

Speaker 2: Thompson also made headlines twenty years ago when he escaped from jail during a retrial of his case. His case subject of an episode of the Netflix docuseries I Am a Killer. Hayslip's son, the victim's son, who is thirteen at the time of the murder, says he plans to be among the witnesses at tonight's execution.

There are now seven hundred and eighty nine documented cases of measles in South Carolina, and eighty nine of those cases were just confirmed in the past few days. That number is significant because it surpasses last year's West Texas outbreak that sickned seven hundred and sixty two people and killed two children. Now, most of these cases are in the Spartanburg area of South Carolina and are among unvaccinated people, the majority of them children and teenagers YEA.

Started last fall and now known cases directly linked to South Carolina go as far as California, as well as North Carolina, Washington and maybe Ohio as well. We did report the US now at risk of losing its measles elimination status. I can't remember how long, at least twenty five plus years. I believe, yes, they've had that. Yes, So the way they determine that is if they find out that these strings are linked over the course of a year. So I guess Texas is where this all started, and that one kind of tamped down. But now if that one is found to be linked to South Carolina and these others, so it's a big deal. Measles is not something we're supposed to be dealing.

I did as you just heard Tjsay put together in the morning Run today, and I'm not so keen on putting sports stories in here, but this one was glaring and felt like a necessary story in today's morning run, Bill Belichick is not getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He didn't get the necessary votes he needed. I think he needed forty out of fifty, and this was his first year of eligibility. So that's why this is such a big deal.

You don't know anything about the basketball Hall of Fame, but you know the first chance that Michael Jordan gets to go in, he's going to go in. This is embarrassing. Shut it down. It's completely pointless. They are arguing that people are trying to punish him for Spygate and deflate Gate.
