Several states have states of emergency. Look out the window is gorgeous, roads, it really is. So you get out there and you see how bad that wind is whipping, and it is a dangerous time right now.

There is a travel band in the New York area, that's how bad it is.

There are states of emergency in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Snow is literally blowing sideways around two to three inches per hour here in New York City in some hours, and certainly when you go outside, you won't want to stay out for very long.

Speaker 2: I have to be out. We you shouldn't be out because it's right now not legal to be. There is a travel ban here in New York. It goes into at least noon. Some parts of New Jersey have travel bands that go until much later in the day they say they are going to reassess. But what they're talking about nothing but emergency vehicles should be out. It is too dangerous for anybody to be on the road. Mass transit has even shut down. So if you see anybody out in some of these places, they better be walking, because that's the only way you're told you can get around. We had fifteen inches of snow in Central Park as of seven point thirty this morning. That number certainly going to rise or we're getting two three inches of snow per hour in some places. Now. Schools, as we mentioned, are clothes and they're giving people all this advice. But another bit of advice that the mayor who we're looking up on screen happened to be doing his round of local interviews, is actually telling people skip grow up up if.

Speaker 1: Been ground stops, flooding concerns as well. On the New Jersey coast, Atlantic City had inches of water on the streets in addition to all the sideways snow coming in. More than six hundred thousand people I just checked as of around nine thirty this morning are without power because of the snow. New Jersey and Massachusetts are the hardest hit areas for power outages. And you know, we've been talking about these blizzard warnings, so technically, meteorologically speaking, that a blizzard. Officially, it's a blizzard when you've had three hours of snow and winds up to thirty five miles per hour or more, invisibility less than a quarter.

Speaker 2: Oh, the flights to the northeast the best, I thank you. Many people are familiar with flight Aware at this point and we use it as a great resource. But they tell you about the cancelations and the percentage of cancelations at major airports as of this recording as we sit here, JFK eighty eight percent of flights coming out of there canceled, LaGuardia ninety eight percent, Boston Logan ninety two percent, Newark eighty nine percent, Philadelphia eighty two percent. The point there is, these flights are very limited in their delays right now, not a lot of those because they're being canceled, they're not being delayed. So folks, I think you probably understand you're not going anywhere with these airports. So that's something to keep an eye on today. Going to turn now to Mexico. Much different weather, but a much different situation there. People are being worn to stay inside there for a much different reason because schools and businesses are closed because of violences, violence that has erupted around the country. Mexican authorities killed the leaders of the Hallisco New Generation cartel, including the country's most wanted cartel boss. He goes by the name of El Mincho, but his real name is Nemessio ruben Osaguera Cervantes. But he is known for trafficking drugs, or at least wanted for trafficking all kinds of drugs into the US, and there was a fifteen million dollars bounty on his head.

Speaker 1: Yes, the White House acknowledgis it did provide intelligence support for this military operation that was conducted by Mexico. He was killed during a shootout in his own home as the Mexican military tried to capture him. His killing sparked violence across the country, members of his cartel torching buses and businesses. At one point, there were more than two hundred and fifty blockades across twenty Mexican states. Most of those roadblocks we're hearing have been cleared as of this morning. Guadalajara, that is the second largest city in Mexico, was the center of a lot of this violence. It was basically shut down yesterday. Lots of folks in Portavarta as well, who are and we actually just came back from there a week ago, full disclosure, So it's just unthinkable to think what's happened in just a matter of days since we left.

Speaker 2: So a lot of Americans do visit this area. It's very popular right now for folks trying to escape weather such as the stuff we're getting in the northeast right now. But a lot of them were being told to shelter in place. A lot of airlines stopped, literally turned some of their planes around they were heading down to Mexico. So it's a serious situation. Keep an eye on that today. But the death toll is at least fourteen who have been killed in violence. There all right.

But it's also important as the debate rages online, many people saying inwards, there's no way that wasn't already in his vocabulary or in his heart or in his head. You don't just yell that out. But plenty of folks have come to the defense of this man and also the Turet Association of America. The information is out there and you can take it for what it's worth, but the context is important. They say that the words they may be expressed in corporal lalia. That is corporalalia a lot of people not familiar, but that is the specific symptom or the name that's given to the ticks. But it says the words that may be expressed are often distressing to an individual and not indicative of their personal convictions, such as in the context of racial slurs, period point blank. They say, these folks have no control over it, and just because it utters and comes out of their mouth, they have no control. It doesn't mean that this is something that's in their regular vocabulary.
