Sam Neil has known that we have one of them on to just put it on the background here, but Robes he's well known for that. I mean, he was there at the beginning of Dress Park of that franchise, but has passed away unexpectedly. We'll talk about that and remember him just a moment. We'llant to mention that off the top. But we'll be making several stops on this Monday morning run, making a stop in d C and Bangkok in London and Toronto will be making a stop at the office. We'll dip down to Fiji for a second as well, but we want to start this morning.

Speaker 2: The health of two senators has been in the headline certainly over this weekend, including with Lindsay Graham that we know passed away suddenly at the age of seventy one on Saturday night.

Speaker 1: That's right, so we now know Senator Lindsay Graham's cause of death that has been revealed. The Republican senator died of an aortic dissection due to heart disease. This is all according to his office. Basically, there was a tear in his heart's main artery. Now, Graham died suddenly on Saturday night at the age of seventy one, after returning from a trip to Ukraine. The President has ordered flags to be flown at half.

Speaker 2: Staff, and of course, thinking about Lindsey Graham, a lot of people were concerned about Mitch McConnell as well. Sinner McConnell has now has no other way to put this.

Speaker 2: The longtime Republican has been absent from the Senate for the past month, but its office has until now not revealed the specifics of his condition. Wouldn't say why he has spent the past month in the hospital.

Speaker 1: Yes, so, in a statement yesterday, McConnell explained that he quote took a fall last month that landed me in the hospital. He went on to say that he did not break any bones, he didn't suffer a concussion, and he added that he didn't have a heart attack or a stroke. But he did say he was briefly unconscious before being taken to the hospital.

Speaker 2: But Robes after he was in the hospital recovering from a fall at the age of eighty four, he said he dealt with a mild case of pneumonia.

Iran and President Trump both claim over the weekend that they're the ones in charge of the all important shipping lane. Iran says it was closed. Trump says it's open for business.

Speaker 2: The truth might be somewhere in between, because traffic, shipping traffic has once again come to a crawl after the latest round of attacks. The President said in recent days that he fills the memorandum of understanding of the ceasefire is over. It sure seems that way. The US hit over one hundred and forty Iranian targets over the weekend. Iron says it retaliated by firing on US military sets in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. Take a look. Oil prices are starting to not just go up ropes. They are starting to surge. That lets you know at least how investors in the market it is feeling about what.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run will stay overseas and at least twenty seven people were killed. It happened in a fire at a beer haul in Bangkok overnight. There is just some incredible video showing huge flames blowing out the front door as people are desperately trying to flee this beer hall.

Speaker 1: Police believe two people were targeting each other but fired indiscriminately with crowds of people all around them and estimated thirteen thousand people attended the Salsa on Saint Clair festival. So far, no arrests have been made.

Speaker 2: It's rare to hear this rogue, to hear about a deadly shooting in Canada. This is just not something that happens a lot. They have very strict gun laws there. They have had about thirty shooting incidents in Toronto this year. New York City has had more than three hundred. We've actually had more murders in New York than they have even had shootings in Toronto. But to give some context, yes, we're a larger city, but we have They still have few.

Seventy four year old Dennis Michael Soaker will die by lethal injection Tuesday for the nineteen eighty two New Year's Eve killing of eighteen year old Patricia Gifford. Soaker, a serial rapist. A convicted serial rapist was eventually convicted of yes raping and then strangling the teen after he met her at a New Year's Eve party.

Speaker 3: Yeah, apparently offered her a ride to breakfast.

Speaker 2: Soaker confessed that he got angry when she refused to have sex with him. He eventually disposed of her body, which has never been found.

Speaker 1: Yeah, he apparently has told police that he'd like to help, but he was too drunk to remember what he did with her body. And he wasn't arrested until nearly five years after the murder. There was a creepy picture that she took on New Year's Eve that night with him in the background. That was key to eventually determining he was her killer. And then finally there was a traffic stop, actually it was a dui where they were able to arrest him. But last week the Florida Supreme Court denied his appeal, and that will make him it looks like the seventeenth inmate executed this year in this country. He'll be the tenth in Florida alone.

Speaker 1: The Justice Department has now subpoenaed four reporters from the New York Times who reported on security issues related to the new Air Force One. You may remember President Trump flew to the NATO summit in Turkey on the new jet, but then he flew out of Turkey.

Speaker 2: On the old Air Force one and then signing anonymous sources, The Times reported it was security concerns about the new jet that prompted the switch. They reported that the new one might not have all the security features of the old jet. Well, that didn't sit too well with the President and the administration. So subpoenas are flowed. The reporters are being asked to appear before a grand jury ropes in New York this week.

Speaker 1: My goodness, all right. Next up on the run, they drained the reflecting pool again. The pool has been a pain in the ass for Trump. There was algae. There is algae. Not was well. I guess it was because it was drained right anyway, lots of algae peeling liner people have been arrested. I mean, this is crazy. The president has blamed all of these problems on vandals who he claims intentionally damaged the pool.

Speaker 1: That's right. A sixty one year old man was partially sucked out of the window of his Ryan airplane on Friday. Literally his wife was holding onto his legs as his head and part of his body was out the window.

Speaker 1: I don't think there is video because I think everyone was just scrambling to try and help in this situation because he has Other passengers reportedly joined in to help her, and after several minutes someone mis said five minutes, we were finally able to pull him back inside the plane. They say most people were sleeping.

Speaker 1: Well, it just nobody was paying attention. And also, can you get distracted, you wake up? What the hell is going on? And the masks dropped from the ceiling, so people are panicking.

Speaker 2: What going from Greece to Germany when this incident happened, and a lot of folk if you're not if you've traveled overseas, you travel to Europe, this is a low cost Irish carrier if you have college age kids.

Speaker 2: So that's these folks are. But Ryan Air did put out a statement. Now they didn't mention the passenger being pulled through the window, but they did say they had an issue. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger window dislodged and fly the aircraft and didn't normally passengers returned to the terminal. One passenger requested and received medical assistance on the groundl that's how they they put it.

Speaker 1: That passenger was hospitalized with neck and shoulder injuries along with friction burns. Investigators on the ground informed the NTSB here in America that the plane turned around quote due to a right engine issue and cabin decompression. Now Greek media is reporting that that window actually was broken by a piece of debris that detached from one of the plane's engines hit the window. And yes, they do say you can be sucked out of a plane if the window breaks or somehow gets dislodged like this one did. So it's a reminder to wear your seatbelt at all times. If this guy had a seatbelt on, he would not have gotten partially sucked out of the window.

I think he said it was stage three, but he revealed it in twenty twenty three. They wanted to make the point that he was cancer free at the end, but suddenly unexpected.

Speaker 2: But as every couple said last night, they felt like they all won. It's only something a loser would say. But coming in second, an eye in Carl third, Melanie and Sincere, and then Kada and Zach Highlights low lights. It was a two hour finale. It was a slow burn.

That was actually because there was It was such a sweet, authentic moment. You know, you can just tell when you see people's faces when they're putting on and when they're really like nervously kind of being vulnerable. It was so sweet. I'm going to have to admit this. A lot of people may disagree, but many of us may have thrown up a little at the Karl and I a fairy tale date. That was the That was I mean, we were laughing for me, it was it was fun. And then there were all those celebrity shout outs at the end. I thought that was cool. Lizzo, Demi Lovado, Somber Kesha, Sierra Jordan Sparks, Alex Warren Drewski. That was old is see just and I think the Islanders were kind of shocked at just how culturally relevant they had become, where you had all these stars thanking them for a fun summer of watching them find love.

A convicted serial rapist was eventually convicted of yes raping and then strangling the teen after he met her at a New Year's Eve party.

But last week the Florida Supreme Court denied his appeal, and that will make him it looks like the seventeenth inmate executed this year in this country. He'll be the tenth in Florida alone.

Investigators on the ground informed the NTSB here in America that the plane turned around quote due to a right engine issue and cabin decompression. Now Greek media is reporting that that window actually was broken by a piece of debris that detached from one of the plane's engines hit the window. And yes, they do say you can be sucked out of a plane if the window breaks or somehow gets dislodged like this one did. So it's a reminder to wear your seatbelt at all times.
