We're not going full-on as we maybe normally would, but still, I wanted to put a holiday edition up. A holiday edition. It sounds like I'm going to do Christmas gift. No, it's a holiday morning run. Yes, work doesn't stop, news doesn't stop, and running doesn't stop.

We don't have kids this weekend, and we were supposed to take a trip. It got canceled, and now We have been on a nonstop dating weekend. We have been dating. We've been on dates this weekend like we've never been before.

Speaker 1: So it's just us this weekend. Being great. Part of that was a concert this weekend that's actually in our morning run. It made headlines, and we didn't realize the concert we were at would be making headlines. We'll explain that a little further this morning. But yes, on this morning run, we're going to be making stops at the gas pump, probably like you are as well this weekend. Also making stops in D.C., New Mexico, Miami International Airport, and Hawaii. Make a stop at MetLife Stadium and also at the box office. But yes, let's start at the gas pump. Robes, it's a record-setting holiday weekend.

Speaker 3: We've been on the road a couple of days, and just to see the gas prices, to see that they're in the four range still, and some people.

Speaker 3: And that is the highest Labor Day weekend average ever, according to AAA. We, I saw 419 was the cheapest I saw in New Jersey, which is always the cheapest gas.

Speaker 1: Boy, electric sounding pretty good right now after we've been on the road this weekend and gassing up. But yeah, the 414, we've never had a holiday weekend, Labor Day weekend. There was a four in front of that number. So 382 was the record. So we kind of blew through the previous record, did we not?

Speaker 1: It's also, we're sitting right now, a full dollar more than it was this time last year. Per usual, the highest prices are being paid by our good friends in California, also in Washington, Hawaii as well, and in Indiana, Texas, and South Carolina. In the $ 3. 60, $ 3. 70 is the cheapest stuff. It's like $ 5. 80, something like that. In California?

Speaker 3: Next up on the run, speaking of Hawaii, parts of that state are under a hurricane watch today. Hurricane Lowell is a Category 3 storm. It's churning in the Pacific, and while it's not expected to make landfall in Hawaii today, It is forecast to pass just to the west of it later tonight.

Speaker 1: And this close pass is expected to bring heavy rainfall, and they're already warning about the possibility of mudslides. It's crazy how we get through some of these names. I remember Dolly, Edward. F, G, H, I, J. I missed all those. We got to L.

Speaker 2: But wait, do the Pacific storms have different names than the Atlantic storms? Do they have a different set? Yes, I think they do. They're on a different pace.

Speaker 3: Yeah, the Pacific, they just must turn out there with no land in sight, and they just form and just do nothing to no one.

Speaker 1: It is a good thing. But yes, keep an eye on Hawaii. Thinking about our friends there as well, but not a direct hit. That is good news, I suppose. Let's turn now to Miami. This story turned quickly yesterday. Five people died when an Amazon cargo plane ran off the runway at Miami International Airport. Robes is about two in the afternoon on Sunday. And when we first I mean, you hear it. It's a cargo plane, first. It skid off the runway. Okay, not a big fire. There was hope, Robes, that maybe some injuries on the ground and whatnot. And then, Robes, an hour or so later, we got the update.

Speaker 3: Yeah, this was shocking. The plane was arriving from San Juan. It overshot the runway. It went onto a road and hit a number of vehicles. In addition to the five fatalities, another five people were injured and several of them critically. And that crash caused a three-hour ground stop at Miami International Airport. Right now, don't know the cause. There is an investigation underway. And do we know where all the people were who were killed? Were they on the cargo plane?

Speaker 1: Don't know the condition. Like the pilots, first of all, who were in the plane, but five dead. Again, it's a cargo plane. Doesn't have a big... right massive crew on it necessarily uh but yeah waiting for updates there and as of this recording robes i think still two runways were closed in miami so that's causing fits yes it's not the priority people's travel plans right now when you have a disaster like this but but still it's causing fits down there uh turning next on the run here now robes they're not gonna let it go they still they won't let it go this david hearn thing what is their problem they don't like being wrong Oh, OK. I was going to say they didn't like guys who canoe.

Speaker 1: Yes, the government was in court again arguing they want to keep the option of once again charging David Hearn with damaging the reflecting pool. You'll remember the government had to not just drop its case, but they had egg all over their face with this one. with Hearn, the former three-time Olympic canoeer, they had to say in court filings that it was actually a rushed, botched repair job that caused damage to the pool, not vandalism, which they had charged Hearn with.

Speaker 3: Yes, which I just would say most people knew. So finally, someone was speaking the truth. But At a hearing on Friday, the government pleaded with the judge not to drop the charges with prejudice, which would effectively prevent the government from charging him again.

Speaker 3: Skeptical and specifically brought up the fact that President Trump keeps publicly stating that the pool was vandalized and that Jeanine Pirro erred when she dropped the charges.

Speaker 3: Yes, he just renamed Lake Ontario to Lake America. already have the Gulf of America now instead of the Gulf of Mexico. So since New Mexico has that M word in its name, Trump says it needs to change too. And he has suggested that the name be changed to New America.

So much more prestigious and beautiful for the people of that potentially incredible state. Wow. I love it. I assume they voted Democrat. Is that why?

Robes and I were at a concert this weekend, and it turned out to be a controversial one because now a group is calling for one of the artists to be removed from that tour. And they're telling Ed Sheeran he's the one that needs to make the call. We'll explain. Also, Spider-Man, finally, not number one at the box office ever. No, that's not a true statement. Also, Ciara has some really big news. The family is expanding. All right, we continue here on this Labor Day morning run, and we start, Robes, with a thank you. First of all, let me say this first. I got a gift last Christmas. That paid off this weekend. What a cool way. You're a big fan of giving experiences for gifts.

Macklemore, who has for years publicly expressed his views on Palestine, decided to do so once again during his performances at MetLife Stadium on Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 1: So he gave a little speech during his set in which he declared free Palestine and said he wanted people in Gaza to know they had not been forgotten. Well, there were images. This was produced. It wasn't just a one.

Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. And we were at the show. There's a big board there, a big screen, that they are coordinating their performances with images that are up there. There were images up there. This was planned. So now the Israeli-American Council calling for Sheeran to remove Macklemore from the tour. The tour has been going on all year. It's called the Loop Tour. It goes through November, at least here in the U.S. But he's done this before. Remember in Vegas that he was supposed to headline something two years ago? And they counseled him because of this. We're going to get into this a little more in an episode that's going to be on our feed after this. We'll have the full comments. But, I mean, Robes, you just can't step in it. They're upset that he has a platform and they didn't have a platform to respond. It's essentially what they said. He has a right to free speech, but not here. when we can't respond. They seem to really have a problem with him having the platform yet.

I think they're great. They're a powerhouse. He just retired. I'm sure he's going to be on TV doing some commentary. Rose, that's exciting that they want this, that they want this big family.
