Speaker 1: Yeah, this is beyond heartbreaking, and yet to every time now I've been looking at the window, I just think about that poor woman twenty seven years old and her five month old baby. They both died when their boat that they were on overturned right near the Statue of Liberty. The boat's captain has been arrested. And this all happened. We were just a few feet away. Really, this happened around ten pm on Saturday night.

Speaker 1: Testimony schedule to resume this morning in the trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts' mom who strangled her three young children. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming postpartum psychosis is to blame.

Speaker 2: Testimony on Friday focused on the time she spent in a psychiatric hospital in the weeks before the killings. The prosecution witnesses testify one after another, a couple of doctors, with their nurses as well. They kept testifying that she did not did not show any signs of psychosis and reported to them that she did not want to harm herself or her children, which of course is key for the prosecution trying to establish that that was nothing necessarily wrong with this lady.

Speaker 1: Yes, and the main doctor who had really treated her for since September leading up until the day before her killing, that psychiatrist, She went through a lengthy questioning by the prosecution, and yes, all of those points were established. But this morning, when tried, the trial resumes, she will be cross examined.

Speaker 2: I continue on the run here now another trial to keep an eye on today, the trial for the man accused of playing a role in the killing of rap Icon Tupac Shakur that was thirty years ago. Dwayne Keith Davis has pleaded not guilty to murder with a deadly weapon with Roodes. He's not accused of actually being the one pulling the trigger, but actually providing the weapon used in that murder.

Speaker 1: All right, And so David was arrested back in twenty twenty three after police reopened their investigation into Tupac's death. And why did they reopen the investigation nearly thirty years later?

Speaker 1: Wrote a book titled Compton Street Led and in that book he outlines, he writes about his involvement in orchestrating and providing the gun for the killing. I hope he made a pretty penny on that book because it may have cost him his freedom. Jury's selection begins this morning in Las Vegas.

That outbreak sickened around three hundred and fifty people, including thirty six hospitalizations in twenty seven states, and now eighteen ready to eat meals are also being recalled because they might contain those recalled halopenias.

Now, Louisiana has on average about seven cases of this per year, so ropes are already up to nine cases, and five of them are deadly. Next up on the run, Republicans have until four pm today to replace Max Miller on the ballot in Ohio. Miller is in a very tough re election fight, and I believe you probably have heard his name at least on this podcast quite a few times. He's dealing with domestic abuse allegations from his ex wife and two other women. He has denied all wrongdoing.

Speaker 2: But there have been more and more calls lately for him to get out of the race, including from Republicans. He has continued to say he'll stay in the race, and after four o'clock they are stuck with him because that's their last chance to get somebody else on the ballot. He doesn't drop out by then theybe that's their guy in Ohio's seventh district.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run, we just got an update on former President Biden's hell from his son Hunter. In an interview with the BBC, Hunter said his dad's cancer has spread and quote metastasized into his bones and further, it's very painful and it's very debilitating.

Speaker 2: You'll remember the former president announced a cancer diagnosis last to May, which was just months after he left office. Hunter Biden went on to say, quote, it's really sad to watch. The only thing I'd say is I wish he would complain more because it's not good. He has continued to, I think, chime in on a few issues publicly. It sounds like he's going through it behind the scenes.

Speaker 1: Next up on the Run. President Trump simply will not let it go. He is still publicly arguing that the reflecting pool in DC was damaged by vandals, including David Hearn, that former olympian who recently had all the charges against him dropped by Jeanine Piro.

Speaker 2: In fact, the US Attorney's Office sin DC dropped the charges against all four people it had charge with damaging the pool, saying it was actually a rushed, botched installation job that was to blame Trump. Trump, of course did not like to hear that. He voiced his displeasure publicly with his US attorney Jeanine Piro for dropping those charges.

Speaker 1: He acknowledged there was a somewhat delicate coding. The National Park Service employee provided this witness testimony to the US Attorney's Office in early July, as seen below. Numerous other events took place, including using an acid like material on the just installed grass adjoining the pool. We are working on the pool and it will reopen shortly. As with many jobs, there was also some contractor error done by rushing the job for a July fourth opening, But it was a very small area of this massive pool and was relatively inconsequential. Security cameras have been and are being installed.

Let's continue on here on this Monday morning run the head of the US Postal Service roades, so they might have to raise prices and close thousands of post offices because they are broke.

Speaker 1: The Postal Service reported it lost two point five billion dollars in the third quarter of this year. The Postmaster General put it this way. Bottom line, we are out of cash, he said. They've been borrowing from their employee pension fund to stay afloat. And their options either raise the price of a stamp, cut back from a six day a week delivery, close some of its eighteen thousand post offices. So those are their options. And look at this point, like it makes sense. Is this is technology that just isn't used the way it used to. It's not even technology. Technology has surpassed. Yes, snail mail. It's called that for a reason.

Speaker 2: Testimony on Friday focused on the time she spent in a psychiatric hospital in the weeks before the killings. The prosecution witnesses testify one after another, a couple of doctors, with their nurses as well. They kept testifying that she did not did not show any signs of psychosis and reported to them that she did not want to harm herself or her children, which of course is key for the prosecution trying to establish that that was nothing necessarily wrong with this lady.
