But then road we went. Immediately we start watching World Cup elimination soccer, and then we had a party for Love Island last night. It was it was a long day. Yeah.

And it is going to be hot, hot as a hell week for the majority of the country. We will be getting into that, but we got several stops to make on this Monday morning run. Will make us stop in southern California, make us stop in France, make a stop, and yes, the central and eastern part of the United States, also in South Carolina. Will make us stop at the box office in Fiji. The Straight of Horror moves, as well as Venezuela. But we have to start with this. The US and Iran agreed to stop firing at each other robes less than two weeks after they agreed to stop firing at each other. Yes, this continues.

Speaker 1: And yet, yes, the two sides exchanged strikes aka firing at each other over the weekend around the Strait of Horn Moves. And certainly this was an unwelcome development after the much debated memorandum of understanding less than two weeks ago. A US official tells several media outlets that the two sides have not agreed to stand down for now and allow tanker traffic in the Strait of Horror moves. What an absolute mess.

Speaker 2: Yes, so they say, they claim, Robes whatever this means, that they are going to stop this shooting for now. But Robes, we keep going back and forth. We need to have an agreement about a ceasefire after you sign a ceasefire. Yes, they have now agreed to the ceasefire, but again we go back and forth. Rose, what are we talking about a ceasefire for the ceasefires?

I continue on the run here now, and we're going to head to South Carolina where Alex Murdach, Yes, Alex Murdach, going to be back in courth this morning, on charges of killing his wife and son in a case Rose that became well, well, I said, became it continues to be a media and online sensation.

Speaker 1: That's right, because he was already convicted back in twenty twenty three for the deaths of Yes, his wife and his son, but it was overturned by the State Supreme Court last month. Because of clerk misconduct, and remember the allegations that she was swaying the jury. Well, today's pre trial hearing is meant to set the schedule for how this case will now proceed. Murda has maintained his innocence. His lawyers are saying they're going to be presenting new evidence. So look, we have to watch this all take place again, and maybe this time there'll be a different outcome for Alex Murdall, at least he hopes so. But he's been in prison this entire time for financial crimes. He was also convicted up.

Speaker 2: It's kind of a matter of no matter what happens in this murder case, I don't think he's getting out of prison. He has two sentences of forty some years, right, yes, two different ones of decades. So but still this is the one of great interest. Continuing on the run here now, this is a bizarre and horrific story out of California where an underinvestigation is underway after they found more than one hundred dead dogs at a California animal shelter.

Speaker 1: Yes, Bullice did in fact call it a horrific scene at Miranda's Rescue Animal Sanctuary. This is in for Tuna, California. They went there after getting a tip about possible animal abuse and discovered the the remains of at least one hundred and seventeen dogs.

Speaker 2: Damn most of them, they say ropes had bullet fragment. Oh my goodness, they know this. With the X rays they were able to do. Of seventy dogs they've done and they say the majority of those have bullet fragments they shot the dog.

Speaker 1: That is horrific. And by the way, this Miranda shelter is a no kill shelter, so it's exceptionally shocking to have that in a shelter like that's purported to not kill their animals. So so far no charges have been filed, but certainly we would expect them to be coming soon.

Speaker 2: Continue on the run here now. Eleven people were killed in a skydiving plane crash Sunday in France. Has happened in the north eastern part of that country and on board rope they had five instructors, five instructors, five skydiving students and the pilot. And this is getting a lot of headlines, Rode when you hear more about who these skydiving students were.

Speaker 1: Yes, the divers were a group of nursing students who were taking their first ever skydiving jumps. There's no word on what caused this crash, but it certainly sounds familiar because just what was it two weeks ago June fourteenth, Remember those twelve folks who died in Kansas City in a skydiving crash. The plane was upon takeoff, just crash, killing everybody on board. So yes, people get worried about how dangerous skydiving might be. None of these folks here in France or back here at home in Kansas City even had the opportunity to jump out of the plane.

Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy? Nothing related to a parachute. This is all and robes that we're talking about. Therapists they have on this one, and it makes sense, and it made me think of it from their previous one in Kansas City. You pointed out about family in the Kansas City one. They're standing there on the ground taking pictures and they said, on this when they had to bring in and they have brought in therapists for trauma that people experienced on the ground. Because you're these are young people, you're watching them in pictures, You're excited and you watch them fall to their deaths right in front of me. So this is this is a tough one. But they say it's one of the worst small skydiving or excuse me, plane disasters in that country system.

Speaker 1: My goodness. All right, Next up on the run, The work continues, and the race against time continues in Venezuela to find survivors from last week's powerful earthquakes. That death hole has skyrocketed to one thousand, four hundred and fifty and get this, it's expected to rise even further because I believe at one point we said hundreds were missing. No, thousands of people are still missing, and thirteen thousand people are displaced. When you see the the video the pictures coming in from Venezuela and you see just what happened to so many buildings, it's just horrific to imagine.

Speaker 2: But the hope is there, right, These are the cases, right every days after somebody's pulled out alive, and those cases have been coming. So that's the one thing that gives you some hope, Robes, and that's why they keep working and fighting. They have people from all over the world now who've come and tried to help in the rescue efforts continue on the run here now record breaking heat and deadly heat. Really it continues all across Europe. Up to one thousand deaths, they're now saying in France being blamed on this record heat they've been experiencing. That's right.

Germany is now in the think of it, and for the next three straight days they recorded the hottest temperature on record, one hundred and seven degrees in Germany. I just would never think about those types of temperatures in that country.

In its second weekend, it picked up another seventy million dollars at the box office. But the story of the weekend isn't Toy Story. It's the movie that came in number two.

Speaker 2: Highly hyped, highly promoted, highly anticipated Supergirl. You see all the headlines having some play on flying didn't really you take off, cut off. There's been a lot of that. But I hate this for DC and you hate this for the movies. It's been promoted so much and by all the accounts, the young lady who plays Supergirls getting good marks for the role and how she plays it. But the script and the story h not so much. But it opened at thirty eight million dollars. That was predicted to do fifty million. That's a problem. But Superman, the new relaunch of Superman last year, did one hundred and twenty five million in its opening weekend. And the DC Universe heroes, every one of its movies that start around thirty eight million or less have been considered box office bombs. The Flash, Shazam too, Aquaman. They're trying to get back on track and this is this kind of all it didn't quite work. Yeah, Hey, you hate it, bummer. They're trying to do their Marvel thing, you know, with all the Avengers and all those movies. They just haven't been able to do it yet. But just to setback who.
