Speaker 1: So what they did is trying to get to the bottom of it. Even if Michael Patrick doesn't know exactly why. We filmed eighteen episodes. We had wrapped September ninth. I want to say, it's like two days before I was flying. No, No, we'd wrapped like maybe four days before I'd had a photo shoot and then I was flying. On September eleventh, I was trying to fly. Didn't go well, and our episodes had been airing every week, and then they had decided for some reason to stop in August, hold six for January. I want to say, oh, yes a while, Yes, like to split the seasons.

Speaker 1: And I think that was because they didn't have a sopranos. I think that's why, because they used to have a plan where we'd come on in June, and I think the sopranos would come on in the fo oh, I see right, But I think they didn't have them to come on, or maybe the soprans would come on in the winter. I don't know. Something something had gone awry with their little plans. So like the episode right before this, four thirteen came on in January, even though we filmed it in the summer. So the sixth that came on in January end with iHeart New York, which is the episode we had filmed right before nine to eleven, but everyone thought we'd filmed after because Michael changed the voice over a little bit. Talk about it because it was supposed to be about the fall and things changing, dedication right, yes, yeah, yeah.

It was like everything was extreme, you know, and you look. You see it in the episodes too, like this particular episode it's just so vivid and vibrant and glittering, all the glitters like that was that was the whole summer, like it was everything. And when I look at Sir Jessica's work like she is so I mean, she's hysterical but also so deeply felt but also so animated and glittery and amaze, like everything is working.

Like it's really interesting, and he does bring out this whole other side, you know, like of Samantha for sure, but definitely I also feel like for Kim's work, like it's a different thing happens, you know, which I love. But then she's still you know, her fabulous, powerful self. You know, it's interesting, but the vulnerability I love it.

I knew Willy before the show. Yeah yeah. I met Willie in Vancouver. He was on the X Files and they were filming at this old hospital that is often used for scary movies and I've filmed there since then too. It's still very scary. It was like a mental hospital that's abandoned, like on the edges of Vancouver, and we were there all night long. And of course he's hysterical, funny and I just loved immediately, as everyone did.

Speaker 1: And the character that he WILLI, the character that Stanford was based on, is this man, like a real man in Candae's life who you couldn't tell but was gay, which you couldn't tell.

Speaker 1: So that's what WILLI thought he was going to do, right, He was trying to be like true to that person that he was told Stanford is based on that person. But then he said that Darren would always say to him, you know, you know, gay it up, you know, and so he tried to gay it up, but he felt uncomfortable about it, and then he felt like they pushed him to be to be gayer or whatever. I think he did a great job. They put him some gay gay clothes. I mean that green suit that he's in in this my God, shades of ugly Betty.

I mean, you know what I'm saying is confusing, right, But then so then they don't have sex.

But that hasn't happened yet, but everyone listening knows what happens.

It makes sense, right, and a lot of those girls wear you know, crosses and whatever. So I did, and it pays off later. But then, like with the apartment, I think that was him also because I think it had been discussed with the first breakup, because I think there's a voice over this is like, thank god she kept her apartment. You know, she like sublet it or whatever, so she'd gone back to her apartment. But then they get back together and she redoes the apartment Tray's apartment because it used to be like ducks and stuff, you know, like preppy flat and ducks. Right, so she redes it. It makes it her own.

So usually, because at that point we knew everyone so well actor wise and also crew wise, So either a scripty or we had this first ad Betty Anne, who was like considered herself a part of the show. I was going to say that, and she would read and she she was funny herself, so she wouldn't really do the other people's pattern, but you could hear the other people because we really knew each other like the back of our hands at that point. But I did think about the four of us doing that thing, and I thought, like, how did we do that? I wonder because like if we ever had like there's a scene where I argue with Miranda and I was there for her side and she was there for my side, you know what I mean, Because you know it's going to be different and it's going to be unique, right, And we made a big effort to make that happen. Like if you had a day off, you'd go in you know what I mean, it's awesome, yeah, and you'd try to have a fitting or something else, you know what I'm trying to say, try to bubble things.

It was the end of COVID right, So we were still on the phone a lot, and we were we had a whole deal to rewatch Sex and the City together for a different company that I will not name, and we were very excited. They had asked Cynthia and I Cynthia didn't want to do it. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this. I hope I am. She just wasn't feeling right about it, And I mean, it was an odd thing to think about going back, you know, like I had made a big effort not to rewatch, like because it feels like living in the past in a way, you know. And Sarah Jessica talked about it when she came the last time, and I don't know that people really understand what she's saying, but I totally understand what she's saying. But I've loved rewatching it because it has given me so much insight into so many things, like things I didn't realize really, you know, about the show, Like it's hard to be objected, you know, and at our work, Like I look at my own work and see things and it's interesting. But just in general, the phenomenon of the show, the things that we were doing that I didn't realize at the time. You know that live on which is wonderful. Anyway, it's been great. But women and I were going to do it, and we were on the phone a lot about it, planning what we were going to do and laughing and having the best time and thinking about when we were going to do it.
