Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Kristin Davis, and I want to know, are you a Charlotte Megan Trainer's here? You guys, it's excited. It's so excited. Before we started rolling, which really my bad, okay, because it's a podcast and we're supposed to just record everything we say. But we were saying that, she said to me, I feel like I've known you my whole life. And I said, oh, And then I said, it's such a nice feeling when you rewatch the show because I was traveling a bit and I was out, you know, not doing the podcast, thus not rewatching, and then I this morning watched two episodes and I was like, oh, it feels so good to be with us.
00:00:38
Speaker 2: It feels like you're back with your friends, right, which I haven't had, Like I haven't had, I've never had like it's us four girls, like friendship groups like that in a long time.
00:00:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. So you guys are my friends. Thank you. I mean, it's really just such a gift. It's such a gift to be a part of something like that. Because isn't this the episode where she does her first email, Carrie does her first email? I mean, were you dying watching it? Yeah, it's cracking out so far. I don't even like emails. I know, it's so crazy. I'm a think about like the timelessness of the stories, right, like we know that feeling with text messages exactly, like everything, like all the technology around it changes, yet the relationship issues stay the same to where it's completely relatable watching the episode even for me and I was part of it eighty million, hundred years ago, but yet I'm reliving it again with all different thoughts in my head based on life like in the last decade.
00:01:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, and how he didn't even notice that he even got an email and he's like, oh, I think I.
00:01:41
Speaker 1: Talked it out. I know.
00:01:43
Speaker 2: It's so funny and like us seeing if it's on red or not read it or not, Like did you see me pour my heart out to you or not?
00:01:50
Speaker 1: Absolutely? Absolutely, It's so adorable but also makes you think about like time and the changes in society, Yeah, so much any changes. Things are so different in some ways, but yet the basic issues are still the same exactly, relationships. It's super fascinating. Babies. Charlotte's got this whole plan the baby. She wanted a baby. Oh it says, I.
00:02:17
Speaker 2: Am Charlotte, if you want to know, it's me I am.
00:02:22
Speaker 1: I mean you're dressed, so there's like a modern beautiful Charlotte right now, you're very together.
00:02:29
Speaker 2: Briddled with anxiety and are you so like EmPATH? And I'm like, I'll take on everyone else's stuff. It's fine, and I want to be really cool, but I'm just trying and I'm just quirky, but like sometimes I want to be fierce and stuff like.
00:02:41
Speaker 1: I feel like it. I love it all. I love it all.
00:02:43
Speaker 2: I really heard the most for sure the whole time. Yeah, the whole time.
00:02:47
Speaker 1: Did you ever have doubts like maybe I'm Carrie or maybe I am No.
00:02:52
Speaker 2: Carrie's too cool for me, but also she makes reckless choices that I just I'm like, I'm smarter.
00:02:57
Speaker 1: Than that, like staying interesting.
00:02:59
Speaker 2: I write a lot of songs where I am Samantha, but I'm not in real life. But that's like a dream of mine, like a fantasy, like you channel it.
00:03:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to channel that.
00:03:09
Speaker 2: Like someday I'm in the the I'm in the when my husband right now, we have five two and a two month year old. Our life isn't sexy at all. I understand so we're not like, we're not Samantha in the bedroom right now, you know, of course, and that's okay, that's okay. Yeah, I've learned in marriage counseling that that's so normal. Yeah, because when you don't know how common and normal it is, because not a lot of people talk about it.
00:03:33
Speaker 1: You're like, are we broken, and you're like.
00:03:35
Speaker 2: Oh no, we're just sweepy. We're genuinely sleepy. So of course we've like put more effort into that. But I know, I also fantasize one day when they're older that like me and my husband will get to a Samantha phase.
00:03:47
Speaker 1: I think that's I can't wait for that. It's gonna be great. Everyone needs that, I think, And that's why she's such a great character because she's so unapologetically you know, I love sex, I want sex. I'm not going to get to attached we have just.
00:04:02
Speaker 2: And she's like it's for me exactly you, which is so great, which is so great.
00:04:06
Speaker 1: And I think if it's interesting in terms of Samantha to think about, you know, are there other characters since then? And kind of not?
00:04:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, like honestly right, which is weird, even like my boob job I just got after having my babies.
00:04:23
Speaker 1: I congratulates Houston goes Oh, I got a lift and a small implant in there so they could be round and even for the first time in my life. Wow.
00:04:33
Speaker 2: But I I always made sure I told everyone that this is not for my husband. This was for me right right, for me to feel hotter, that's in my own skin, and it did it. Like like I can wear a brawl and not duct tape myself to my shoulders. Amazing, and that makes me dance better and feel more confident.
00:04:49
Speaker 1: And I mean, also, you have to perform, and you're in a very intense business. I mean sometimes I worry and I don't know because I'm from the outside, like as much as acting is, so it's very different from music. And I feel like for women in music, the pressure to be like hyper sexual and diva, yeah, all of these things.
00:05:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, do you feel like it's in your head for sure?
00:05:12
Speaker 1: Yeah? And I'm writing an album.
00:05:14
Speaker 2: They're like, what's it about? What are you going through? And I was like, I'm different than every other pop star right now. I'm wiping boogers and butts all day, So like, I guess I want my music to be the diva girl. I feel like Hannah Montana a lot, where I get to be mama at home and like very humbled by my children, and then I get to go on stage and be full diva pop star. But it's it's a confusing lane and people are like, aren't you so confident and badass all the time, and I'm like, no, I'm mostly like crying and wiping butts, Like I'm mostly like if you saw me at home, I'm playing Pirates, like I'm adore amazing.
00:05:50
Speaker 1: But that's so great that you can have that, because I feel like I worry when I don't want to say anyone's name. But there are people I worry about who are young, who get kind of pushed into this lane of like diva hypersexual, you know. And I see that a lot too.
00:06:07
Speaker 2: And then I think maybe because I'm a mom and have kids and want to watch the music videos, I'm like, oh, we're not gonna watch this one change it it's harding that change. And I'm like, yeah, oh man, that's a bummer, because like their music is so good and they're so talented, but like, I can't play that right now for my kid.
00:06:22
Speaker 1: No, it's true, it's a real thing. I mean, my eight year old does not know what the things mean, you know, which is fine, right, But like he loves the music, but then I can't exactly you know, if he's on the iPad and something comes up and he's gonna watch a video.
00:06:35
Speaker 2: I'm like, nah, we have to sit with them.
00:06:38
Speaker 1: How did this happen? Like it's so interesting.
00:06:40
Speaker 2: My kid had a phase of loving the Weekend And there's a full music video where the Weekend's teeth are bleeding, his nose is bleeding, he's driving a car in Vegas, very scary and obviously like it's him doing drugs. And but my Riley is like he's like a vampire.
00:06:55
Speaker 1: Yes, he's am and I just lie to him. Like my son had a whole thing where he loved twenty one Savage. No, because when Tesla felt the need to have this Tesla Countdown and twenty one Savage was on the Tesla Countdown, I didn't know who twenty one Savage was or what he was singing about. But it has such a good beat, right, and I think I get it. Yeah, And he it was he was like young, like six or something. He did not know what he's talking about. He does not know what the click click side is. He doesn't know anything, right. But then there came a time my nanny looked at me and I was like, hmmm, yeah, like we should probably nip it in the butt. But it's hard, Like culturally, it's hard that things have gotten so kind of escalated, you know, in music especially, I feel like because you can keep the R rated movies from them pretty easily, you know, but the music, I don't feel like it's just everywhere everywhere, Yeah, true. But then for you, I feel you have this incredible marriage in these kids, and that's very grounding, you would think. And that's incredible because I don't worry, like when the people don't have the grounding side, I worry what's going to happen? Yeah, because you can't keep the other thing going forever.
00:08:07
Speaker 2: But it's also a confusing, given poll where I sat with my managers the other day and I was like, should I even be doing this pop star stuff or should I be like writing just kids albums for like music for could you.
00:08:19
Speaker 1: Do these albums?
00:08:20
Speaker 2: And I was told like, well, you can't do both. You can't do this music video and have your boobs out and then sell a children's album.
00:08:28
Speaker 1: They said that it's not fair.
00:08:30
Speaker 2: I was like, but why why can't I do anything?
00:08:32
Speaker 1: Like? I agree? I was pissed.
00:08:34
Speaker 2: I mean, I think after this I was by your children's album?
00:08:39
Speaker 1: Why can't you don't do it all? I agree? Yeah, I think that's also like the interesting thing about women being kind of pigeonholed and put into you know, a box and whatever. De right, why you know, why why can't we be everything?
00:08:55
Speaker 2: I know in the comment sections there's me now, I don't. I don't go anywhere comments section.
00:09:01
Speaker 1: Don't go in there. You don't go and tell myself. I have occasionally, but I try really hard not to.
00:09:06
Speaker 2: Like is it tough for you because you you guys had like magazines and mean stuff written anywhere?
00:09:12
Speaker 1: We did we did? Is it a long time or is it better? Uh? Different? Different? I guess it's. I mean, back in the olden days, it would be hard because it was like in the grocery store, right, like big you know, headlines or whatever, yeah about whatever they were in a fus about that week. You know what I'm saying. And my mom would always say like, oh I saw blah blah blah, blah blah, and I'd be like, mom, my mom has me on Google alerts, right. I don't think my mom understands Google alerts, but right, you have to you have to not do that.
00:09:42
Speaker 2: I was like, Mom, if I stop, you have to stop with me, and she's like, that's just in case, and I'm like, does guess what?
00:09:47
Speaker 1: Right in case something happened. Yeah, I know. I think they worry, right, which I totally understand. But I had to say to my mom, like, they don't always know what they're talking about, right, Like you really really have to not believe them. Yeah, she'd called very concerned about you know, my girlfriends, like what's happening? And I also went through a long phase of being really concerned about my girlfriends also, right, like not so much about me, but like what were they saying about my friends? Which is kind of worse you like you want to.
00:10:13
Speaker 2: I was just in one of those my mom group blew up and it was everywhere on earth what happened so many And I didn't even see these girls for like over a year. So I was like, but I like, keep in touch because I was working so much, but I slowly like faded away from.
00:10:28
Speaker 1: What that was my thought was like, how do they maintain that? Which it came so hard and the.
00:10:33
Speaker 2: Career they all worked way more than I did, so I was like, I'm not like work together to like plan trips and be together and everyone that's impressive. I love you all so much. I'm not gonna make it all days. I'm tired and right, or I would tour for three months and be like, oh my god, I can't imagine yeah seeing all that, yeah, like are our names got dragged all together? And make people want to be negative.
00:10:56
Speaker 1: That someone sudden me.
00:10:58
Speaker 2: They were like, well, everyone's hating on I can train it right now, so I bet she's the bully, And I was like, excuse me.
00:11:03
Speaker 1: I'm not even here.
00:11:04
Speaker 2: I know it's I now, like have been hit so much that you're like you kind of laugh and you're like, well, silly, it's true. But I also feel for those those girls who are human beings that I can text and be like, well this sucks, right, and we're all typing like, yeah, sucks, but it's our life. But there's a lot of moms in that group that weren't famous, right or like I was ungooglable and now I'm out there everywhere like you can, and they were heartbroken.
00:11:30
Speaker 1: I just don't even understand. I feel the need for negativity and that that's one thing that I do feel is worse. Was that it useduld just be kind of a handful of magazines, right, and you kind of knew the players, and you knew that one might be positive and one might be negative. Right, so it kind of even out. And now it can really like the trend can be like a wave, right where you actually didn't do anything, it's just how it's getting reported. Yep, that is not actually accurate. But then it's very very hard to see stop that. Yeah, like wave.
00:12:02
Speaker 2: Everyone's like a journalist now, right, and everyone has a platform.
00:12:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, everyone's opinion gets like blasted, right, So I think it's really hard. I think it's really hard. The kind of like massiveness of it or the flow of it can be very uncontrollable. Now, yeah, you just have to wait.
00:12:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, I never like was affected that bad even ten years ago, right with all about that base And I would hear some things like people would hit on me, but I never read it online. I never Yeah, And like nowadays I'll be scrolling on TikTok just like pooping on the toilet, and then there'll be a video of me, like a person randomly talking just about me about how I look or like being in the mom group and I'm hard. Oh my god, I was just trying to doom scroll while pooping, you know, like I was in my safe place and now my safe place has taken away.
00:12:53
Speaker 1: So that's true. No, I think that's true. Damn you walk myself. I think that's it's hard to do, but possible. I mean, my problem is this podcast, right, So like previous to the podcast, I didn't have my feed wasn't filled with sex and city stuff, right because I would look at dog dog videos, right, and elephant videos and whatnot. And now because I feel I, you know, I try to comment and we've got the podcast page, and therefore they want to tell me everything, you know, which is kind of fun usually and then occasionally not. And then if it, if it takes a turn, then I just have to stop. And now you can go into your algorithm and change it on Instagram at least, I don't know about TikTok. I learned how to do that. It's good, it's good, it's helpful. You can you can start fresh. Oh yeah, I'll do that. Yeah, because it's hard because you do want to have that break of being able to scroll like everyone else. Yeah, I just want to see doggies. I get it.
00:13:46
Speaker 2: I just want to see to get it me too, or like ASMR or like squishy things.
00:13:50
Speaker 1: It's true, I went through an ASMR phase. I'm over that. I don't know. It's like I loved it and then it's done. Right then I was, but the animal videos never end and that's the good part. Right, Like, sometimes you just need that break when you're trying to go to bed or whatever, right, like trying to do you need to pick up a reading. I was like, oh, totally. A book is safe. A book is very safe. But I can also have a page book, like on the paper, not on the you know, no electronics. Right, I do have a paper book, like the thick hardcover like the olden days. It's good and it's also very calming. I just read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Oh I forgot it. Did you read Strangers?
00:14:26
Speaker 2: No? This is my first book that I finished Strangers.
00:14:29
Speaker 1: Strangers. As I said, I have two children, I'm a single parent. I read that book in one day. That's how good it is. Okay, strangers want it. This woman is such an incredible writer, Bell Burden. I mean, it's it's like you just enter her life like just somehow escape opens a door. I mean it's not an easy escape. It's it's complex murder, is it? No? No, no, no, It's it's relationship. Uh, really upsetting relationship situation that any and could find themselves in. You know what I'm saying. It's not it's not like an escalated murdered crime situation or anything like that. It's like emotional crime. Emotional Yeah, it's special crime. Yeah, we're gonna have a Gwyneth movie. Gwynetha's going to be her. But read it before so that you can have your own experience. That's my advice. Yes, all right, So my Hyundai hot take for this episode is got to be the ending where Aiden comes back to Carrie's apartment and throws the rocks up at her window because she's throwing the rocks earlier, and this obviously stays until and just like that, they still throw rocks at each other's window, which is so adorable. And then she enters the door and they just you know, come together and it's filmed in slow mo, I believe, and it's so beautiful. It's so beautifully shot and so real, but also like the best. It's like a movie moment, you know, like just so so yummy, and they're both still good in it. So that's my Hondai hot take, celebrating iconic moments, bold moves, and unforgettable style, just like Hyundai. Let's talk about you and Okay, so you're obviously much younger than me. How old were you when the show was on? Did you watch it? Originally?
00:16:21
Speaker 2: My mom watched it and I remember walking into her bedroom every night because I was like so codependent and was like, hey, mom and dad, and I remember my mom specifically be like.
00:16:29
Speaker 1: Shut the TV off, shut the tear off, and I was like, why what is it?
00:16:33
Speaker 2: And that's that was my first introduction to Sex and the City that's so cute. So that yeah, that was when I first learned about it. And then when I was older, like, I watched I think all of it by myself and loved it and understood what everyone was talking about. But I haven't watched it so long, but every now and then I see the episodes or if I'm on a plane, it's like great to pop on. But this episode that we watched for this particular episode, I've seen this one for some reason, like three times.
00:16:58
Speaker 1: That's why I keep watching good one. It's a really good one. It was called baby Talk Eating Yeah, which is weird. I'd forgotten all about that. I had forgotten all about it.
00:17:08
Speaker 2: I was like, what I keep watching And when she's sweaty and hot and running from the marathon, and I'm like.
00:17:13
Speaker 1: She's exactly what I would do. Oh god, I'm sweaty. I know, I know I forgot about this particular season. Season four in my mind just kind of doesn't exist. I remember season three really really well, and I don't remember season four, so I don't know. Michael Patrick says he's going to come on and help me with my amnesia. Okay, I feel I feel like I feel like some of it is because this season three is when we started getting nominated for stuff, which was a big deal, right, Like we never expected it to happen. It was so exciting, and it meant that, like the Emmys and the Golden Globes are like six months apart, and so your whole year kind of revolved partly. Number One about filming the series, and then number two about doing all the stuff you had to do for the series to support of the series. Right, So it kind of became a year round. That was when we vaulted into this like year round traveling, you know, going to Europe, doing photoshoots, you know, doing the awards. It was really fun, but it was also just a lot like I always had my passport in my bag, like I was ready, do you know what I mean? I was super into it, right, I had no kids, I had no relationship. I mean I also think I and do you think there was something going on personally in this particular summer possibly July one, two thousand and one? Yes, this summer. How old were you in two thousand and one? I was born in ninety three. Anybody got that math? Oh A durable, adorable and so adorable. That's the other thing that's so funny about it is, you know I don't feel old, right, Like I feel very not, thank you. But when you do start to look at the year, you're like, WHOA two thousand and one. That was a big year. A lot changed in two thousand and one, But the summer before nine to eleven was like the glorious New York, like almost like everything was brighter, more fun, extra wonderful, glorious. The whole summer was that way, and then nine to eleven obviously like changed the city forever and changed all of our lives forever. You know, that's what happened. That's what happened.
00:19:17
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:19:18
Speaker 1: So, but like the summer before, it was just like everything good, you know, everything good, but also super super busy. So I think that's partly why I don't remember. But also, like I think because for Charlotte, it's the continuation of the Trey storyline, yeah, which she gets married in season three, So in my mind, there wasn't a clear demarcation between season three season four, right, Like, emotionally, I'm still in the same you know, I'm trying to make it work with Trey. I'm hoping that trying to make babies that season four, not season three, but obviously getting married the whole picture. She's trying to create this picture that she has in her mind.
00:19:54
Speaker 2: Right Well, this episode two, when you guys are sitting with your friends and they have three kids, I'm the girl with the kids.
00:20:01
Speaker 1: Did you think when you watch that?
00:20:03
Speaker 2: Oh? Man, I was just laughing because I see both eyes and but I'm literally the girl like my managers. None of my team except LOOKI poops.
00:20:12
Speaker 1: None of my Looky poops. Sorry, Luke.
00:20:14
Speaker 2: I have weird nicknames for my whole team. None of my team. Most of them like aren't even married yet or don't have children. So they'll FaceTime me about like a wardrobe problem, and I'll have my two year old screaming, and I'll be like, oh, one second.
00:20:29
Speaker 1: Please, I'll call you right back.
00:20:30
Speaker 2: And they always tell me that they're laying in bed with their boyfriend. They're like, this is how I know I'm not ready. Like I get a lot of those, like a lot of so you are.
00:20:40
Speaker 1: I understand.
00:20:41
Speaker 2: I understand, But I'm like in heaven and chaos and I'm quired. But I have a lot of my friends going maybe we're gonna wait, you know, my siblings. I'm like, what mean you gonna wait?
00:20:50
Speaker 1: This is fun?
00:20:51
Speaker 2: No, Like my my kids need friends like make babies.
00:20:54
Speaker 1: And they're like, yeah, it's interesting, Like did you did you want cheer? Like did you think like I do I want a baby? Wow?
00:21:03
Speaker 2: I was dating my husband and we were walking by diapers at a store and I started crying.
00:21:09
Speaker 1: And I was like, I know it's too soon.
00:21:10
Speaker 2: I know everyone will judge me, but I feel like I'm supposed to be buying these diapers right now and I don't understand.
00:21:15
Speaker 1: Well, listen, if you feel it deeply, that's what's important. I waited all the way till twenty six, amazing, and.
00:21:22
Speaker 2: Got married at twenty five and a year later during COVID, we were like, well, this is our break, this is.
00:21:27
Speaker 1: Our time, let's just go perfinitely.
00:21:29
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, then started getting pregnant then amazing. Yeah.
00:21:33
Speaker 1: I just think, you know, it's different for everyone, and I think the important thing is to listen, like deeply, don't be affected by what's around you. Don't let their outside pressure affects what you want, either pro or against or whatever. You don't what I'm saying. That's about marriage, it's about children, everything, But it's sometimes hard to listen to the inner voice.
00:21:51
Speaker 2: So good for you, especially with my career or too, even like after baby number one, I like had a hit with made You Look, which like never happens, and NAT in my career years later, so I'm like, oh no, I finally have momentum again, Like I really want another baby right now while I'm like killing it.
00:22:07
Speaker 1: And my team was so supportive.
00:22:08
Speaker 2: They're the best, and they were like, don't think, just answer you want another baby, And I was like yep, and they're like, that's it, then do it.
00:22:15
Speaker 1: Definitely, it was the best good for them that they said that. Yeah, I'm so glad. I mean, I can't even imagine doing both. Though it's a lot. It's a lot, it's a lot.
00:22:23
Speaker 2: I mean.
00:22:23
Speaker 1: The thing that's interesting is like, I feel like being a parent is so creative, right, Like you have to be so creative or so silly. Right. It's really important and good and it does kind of feed our creative lives. But yet it's hard to do both at the same time. It is so hard. I yes, you can do it all though I know me too.
00:22:42
Speaker 2: I literally said the other day crying to my husband. I was like, but I thought I was doing it all. I thought I am doing it. I think you are doing He's like, I think you are and I was like, it doesn't feel like it doesn't.
00:22:51
Speaker 1: What do you sometimes?
00:22:53
Speaker 2: Well, Mike, I'll feel like my career is failing if I'm doing great at home. Oh, I understand, And I'm like very dramatic and hard on myself, and I'm like, well I don't have a hit, or no one even knows my album's coming out, and I like, I just go negative, negative, negative, And then he's like, but you have three beautiful, healthy children and we're thriving.
00:23:12
Speaker 1: Look at this, look.
00:23:13
Speaker 2: At our life. Absolutely, Oh yeah, I am crushing it.
00:23:16
Speaker 1: I also feel like there's no way like when whenever we're promoting, like the show or whatever it is, right, you, It's it's not a loop where you can feel satisfaction.
00:23:28
Speaker 2: Yeah ever right, Yeah, And it's like a it's it's a weird job where you work really hard and that's not where you get paid. So you're like, this will be worth it, right, and it's.
00:23:38
Speaker 1: And I think it is worth it. And I also think you just have to do it. It's where there's things where you just have to do it. Doing it is it? That is the end of results? Right? Do you know what I'm saying? I did it, and you just have to do it and do the best you can do at it. Okay, let's talk about the show. Yeah.
00:24:03
Speaker 2: I'm like, we'll never get to this. I know.
00:24:06
Speaker 1: It's really fun, it's a really fun conversation. Okay. This episode is called baby Talk Is Cheap and it is directed by Michael Spiller, who had been our DP and he had wanted to direct. Yeah, so this is fourth season, so it took him a while. I feel like maybe he directed last season. And it's written by Cindy Shoeback, who was one of our women writers. I think she was the second woman writer to be hired. And then she's an executive producer at this point with our other female writer, Jenny. So Jenny and Cindy are like key to the whole the whole picture, and they have so many funny stories. Their stories were a lot of what our stories were based on, not our stories, right, It had to be either one of the writer's stories or someone they knew, like they're a good friend, so that there was like verification that it was real. I know, I know, really interesting. Everyone always thought it was ours, but it had nothing to do with us, thank god, you know what I mean. Easier to play other people's stories, you know. Now, this is a really interesting storyline with Aiden. How do you feel about Aiden?
00:25:01
Speaker 2: He was the one you really I just like love them seeing them together and they're so good, right, yeah, the chemistry, I'm so good, and this is where she flies to him and it's like a magic scene. It was good.
00:25:14
Speaker 1: It was really good.
00:25:15
Speaker 2: But he's also like super emotional, which I love because you don't see especially like in that time. I don't know a lot of tough guys being like you broke my heart. Oh I know, he really he delivers that so beautifully, so good, and her being desperate for him.
00:25:30
Speaker 1: I loved all that, but I just root for them.
00:25:34
Speaker 2: Every time I saw them, I was like, oh, come on, guys, figure this out.
00:25:37
Speaker 1: I know I felt the same way. And that used to be I mean, I've said this before so a listeners, I'm sorry, but I used to be kind of big, team Big because Charlotte was Team Big and I didn't really think about it separately from Charlotte. And then when I watched it back, I'm like, oh no, no, back then, that was kind of normal to have this kind of aloof you know, unavailable guy, right. But when I watch it, Hayden is dreamy, me dreaming, but also like I feel for him, you know, I really feel for him, and I really should be on her side, but I'm like, oh, I feel for him, it's very interesting. I watch for each other. They really in a way, but they don't mean to. I think that's what's so relatable, right, Yeah, like you can understand their like what's happening. Yeah, but also like I mean I don't know, Like as I'm i'm rewatching it, I'm I mean it's interesting, like I don't really remember. I don't know what's going to happen. I mean, I know what's gonna happen, but I don't know why. Do you know what I'm saying, Yeah, Like I don't know why. Why can't even care ever work it out? Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah? Interesting? Me neither. But when you're when you're watching it, you just go in it wherever they are, Yeah, which is what's so kind of amazing, amazing, like even though I have a lot of other knowledge.
00:26:56
Speaker 2: Right even at the end too, they like finally got together and he's like I got to think about it, and I was like why, I know that was good though, and She's like, awesome, I'll just live with my thoughts. I know she deserves that.
00:27:07
Speaker 1: She totally she did break his heart, and like you said, he is this kind of feeling guy. But he's also.
00:27:16
Speaker 2: Smart that he was aware, emotionally aware to be like, right, I'm not going to go fully in right now right, which.
00:27:22
Speaker 1: Is so good. It's interesting, and it's also good for her to kind of sit with her own actions. You know, what did I actually do? Because I do feel like Carrie is very like impulsive. I don't know if that's really the right word, but right, like it's interesting to which you're sitting here. I wouldn't have ever thought that before, but I do know people complain about Carrie whatever. But I also feel like that's unfair because everyone does the best they can do, and you have all these different feelings, and she's a deeply feeling person who's not necessarily super comfortable with her feelings. Yeah, you know, so it's interesting that she's drawn to Aiden, who is more comfortable with this feelings as a guy. It's good, right, But then obviously there's also a big who's not comfortable with these feelings. It's all very interesting, but I relate to all of it in terms of like, you know, you you want what you.
00:28:17
Speaker 2: Want, and you got married to me and like a softie you did. Yeah, that's so nice.
00:28:23
Speaker 1: That's so nice. It's hard to find them.
00:28:25
Speaker 2: It's very rare. It was it was born in California. I think that helped a lot. Okay, me and my brothers are from the East Coast, so we're like, you stuff your feelings down and we never talk about them. Sure, and he was like, let's meditate on this, and they were like, wow, and now we should meditate. We understand he's an actor. Yes, that also sometimes can help.
00:28:42
Speaker 1: It is well. I mean it's a mixed bag, right, Like actors in general, we're supposed to be you know, expressed feelings, but like expressive, like in touch with emotion so that we can hopefully access them. Could you tell me they're lying or not. I can tell when actors are lying cold, and I'll be like, that is not real. I don't think that's real because the thing about actors is that, yes, we play other people, but it's a learned thing, right, Like you have a script and you learn it. You're not really lying. You have to find the emotional truth of it. I think that whole thing is like fake news or whatever. You know what I'm saying, Like that you never know if an actor is telling the truth. I don't think that's true at all. I think actors are more transparent than your average person on the street.
00:29:29
Speaker 2: I just know my husband too well where I know like his twitch and like his little face where I'm.
00:29:33
Speaker 1: Like, wow, well, good for you. I mean, you guys have been together since you were really young, so that's really good. I think that's great, that's amazing you guys. Megan is too much fun, so we're definitely gonna split our conversation into two. Please join us again in a couple of days for part two with Meghan Trainer on are You a Charlotte
