Love Island: WTF Is Actually Going On Between Zach and Bryce #Brack
What started off as a cute story line, the budding bromance between Zach and Bryce, has now become downright confusing. Each episode, the two get more and more physical with one another, even simulating sex. Zach has dry humped Bryce on more than one occasion, Bryce has shown Zach his penis; they’ve shared lounge chairs and even held hands at one point. In the most recent episode, Zach threw a cake in Trintiy’s face for being jealous of his and Bryce’s cozy relationship. Is this just how a younger generation of heterosexual men behave these days, or is something else going on between the two?

Speaker 1: Hey, the folks, it is Monday, June twenty ninth.
00:00:05
Speaker 2: The most talked about couple on this season of Love Island, and everybody is just in love with them. Oh no, I'm not talking about Brennandy. I'm talking about Brack and with that, welcome.
00:00:22
Speaker 1: To this episode of Amy and TJ.
00:00:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, combining Bryce and Zach doesn't have the same ring to it, but they are definitely the strongest couple on the season this year.
00:00:31
Speaker 3: Well, they've not had an argument, Nope, there's been no falling out or misunderstandings. They've stayed true to one another and they've supported each other throughout it all. They've seen each other's private parts, they've held hands, They've have they kissed kind of sort of probably they've dry humped. What else have they done?
00:00:53
Speaker 2: They have done it all to the point, Robes that we have to ask, and we are wondering what are we seeing? Are we seeing a romance? Are we seeing something else? Are we seeing something more? My simple question for you right now is, Robes, what are we seeing between these two that have everybody talking?
00:01:13
Speaker 1: What is this?
00:01:13
Speaker 3: The answer is, I don't know. You're unclear and interesting because we thought, okay, maybe it's just uswhere of another generation, and we need labels and we need to know what's happening. But I was actually kind of surprised at all of the younger folks watching us, these zoomers in our life. We're all equally dismayed and confused. And we even had one of Ava's friends, who is a gay man, also confused by what he was seeing.
00:01:41
Speaker 2: So Robes, I think you've described it enough, but anybody's been watching the show, you know that these two and their behavior is. You can receive it however you want to receive it. But it is what it is, and we're not used to I'm not used to seeing, not just in my friend groups, just generally speaking, in other male interaction.
00:02:03
Speaker 1: I am not used to.
00:02:04
Speaker 2: Seeing in public or in private, such intimacy, such simulated sex acts that don't seem I guess you could dismiss as playful if they were younger, but it seems like more and it seems like it's so consistent, which is fine. But they are the talk of the villa in a lot of ways, and I wonder if they have any idea this has come across to America, and.
00:02:30
Speaker 3: That is interesting to me because I don't think they know, but they're not shy about it. And I feel like each episode they've upped the ante. They've gone even further than the last episode. They clearly like being around each other, and I think what we're seeing, I think it's fair to describe it as flirting with each other. Wow, Okay, that is what I am seeing is flirting and not being ashamed of it. Not that I'm saying you should be, but they are in heterosexual couples. They claim to be heterosexuals just by being on the show because the show has said that they have not. You know, there has been talk and they have been asked whether or not they would consider having either just bisexual couples gay couples, and they just said that they thought that would get really confusing. And even the host, Ariono Maddox is a part of the LGBTQ plus community. She is bisexual. She has come out and said that repeatedly, so she even said she'd like to see more of that, But for right now, the show is heterosexual. So that's why it's confusing.
00:03:36
Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with what I think.
00:03:38
Speaker 2: We're just fascinated about what we're seeing because I'm not used to seeing and we are not used to seeing men who declare themselves as heterosexuals behave in this way.
00:03:47
Speaker 1: So this is Robes.
00:03:48
Speaker 2: Beyond a hug or being a European kiss on the cheek kind of a thing. This is we're just not used to two guys who say they're straight.
00:03:56
Speaker 3: It's shocking to watch for two straight Okay, there it is. Yes, obviously, we were at the Pride March yesterday. We have plenty of friends in our friend group who are all sorts of versions of gay straight by We're not immune to that. We live in New York City. We're really comfortable with it. We're really accepting of it. We love people who embody all of those different sexual preferences. So it has nothing to do with that. It's just if you are in a couple with someone and you're telling a woman you love them in one second and then the next second you're dry humping a guy, I'm confused.
00:04:35
Speaker 1: And that's what it is. Ropes, there is.
00:04:36
Speaker 2: We were, Yes, like you said, we were at the Pride March in New York yesterday. I didn't see two men do as much as I saw these two guys.
00:04:45
Speaker 3: When we got home, to watch Love Island last night's episode. That's so true.
00:04:48
Speaker 2: That is that is a true statement. So what did we see yesterday? Let's go with a few of them. The dry humping, I mean wrote there's no other way to describe it, and it's Zach on top of a It happened at least twice. It might have been a third time. But you see him, he is physically they are in shorts and no tops in one instant at least, and he's simulating having sex. This is any other way to put this with dry humping, No.
00:05:13
Speaker 3: It's dry humping. I mean he is simulating having sex with Bryce and am I. From what I can recall, it's been Zack who has been the aggressor, who has been the dry humper of Bryce. Bryce doesn't seem upset about it at all, don't get me wrong, but there is clearly a top and a bottom.
00:05:32
Speaker 1: On this one dry humper.
00:05:33
Speaker 2: In a dry humpy, the top and bottom. The only thing I will mention is inconsistent that in the kitchen. There was a situation in the kitchen where Bryce was behind Zach as they were doing a simulated so they switched it up once, my god, but then.
00:05:51
Speaker 1: At the cake challenge last night. I believe it was Zach once.
00:05:54
Speaker 2: Again, it was that it was behind his boy cake challenge as well. Now this is the one you remember well at this point, if you're listening, you probably saw it. But there was a cake challenge where the guys and the girls had to send up one representative hands behind their back and they had to eat through a cake just with their mouths robes and find something that was in there. Okay, fine and dandy. It was Zach against Kenzie. Zach is about to do his thing. He's getting encouragement from his boys. You remember, they're all, yeah, come on, we got to win this thing. And Zach speaks up and takes it in a direction that only Zach can.
00:06:30
Speaker 3: I've seen that. Yeah, I was gonna say. Bryce says this to Zach. I've seen that mouth. I've felt that mouth. There were seven eight of us on the couch. We all turned to each other and said, what did he just say?
00:06:46
Speaker 1: Is it just supposed to be all in good fun?
00:06:48
Speaker 2: Are they just antics now and they're just messing with us, maybe messing with their fellow islanders. Maybe ah, they trying to see how far are they can go?
00:06:55
Speaker 1: With this thing.
00:06:56
Speaker 2: Okay, the other part, and they had some couch moments. We talk about them humping, but do you remember they had They were fully clothed for this one, but it was they were seeing each other after the recoupling, so it was their first quiet moment together.
00:07:09
Speaker 1: And Zach grabs.
00:07:11
Speaker 2: Bryce hip by the face, well hand on each side of the cheek and pulls him close like he was about to kiss him.
00:07:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you doing?
00:07:20
Speaker 3: I know? And then at the cake challenge, because there was several things, I mean, last night's episode was chock full of brack moments, but Zach actually decides to throw his cake because they could pick who they wanted to throw it at. Oh you had a beef with at Trinity's space and said stay away from my man?
00:07:41
Speaker 1: What again?
00:07:42
Speaker 3: Is this truly?
00:07:43
Speaker 2: Even?
00:07:43
Speaker 3: Look confused?
00:07:44
Speaker 1: But it might all be playful.
00:07:46
Speaker 2: It might be they might just be being silly and having a good time. But Robes, with all the simulated acts and sex acts, you could dismiss boys in the locker room being.
00:07:55
Speaker 1: Stupid, going too far something like this.
00:07:58
Speaker 2: You can dismiss some of the simulated thought, even some of the jokes and some of the stuff they're saying ropes. Then there was another moment that you really I have questions.
00:08:10
Speaker 3: Yes, this actually seemed like it was the most intimate of them all, absolutely, which is interesting because it was the least sexual.
00:08:17
Speaker 1: Absolutely.
00:08:18
Speaker 3: But the two of them were having a conversation on the couch and we looked and we said, oh my god, are they holding hands? They were holding hands on the couch having a conversation. Have you ever in your life held hands with a man while talking to them?
00:08:39
Speaker 2: Not even when my pastor was praying for me.
00:08:45
Speaker 3: Now, can there be a circumstance? And I mean I can see like a father to a son, a relative, but like just platonic friends talking holding hands. I guess girls do it.
00:08:58
Speaker 1: I guess it's possible.
00:08:59
Speaker 2: We're just used to seeing it, so we're thrown So I don't know if there's no way to judge necessarily what's happening, or say what should be happening or shouldn't. It's just something we're not used to seeing. And on a show where we're examining relationships and love, this is one that I am maybe most curious about on this show.
00:09:17
Speaker 3: I would agree, and look, we're not knocking it, and look what I was trying to get an idea about is how everyone else feels about it. I mean they've mentioned it, people have talked about it. Other Islanders have laughed about it, and certainly it's getting a lot of play online. Oh, for sure.
00:09:35
Speaker 2: It's going There is a very big and important conversation. There's a silly one and a fun one, but there is an important one among the gay community that's happening right now. Ropes this when you have representation, but it's not one of your representatives. They are showing male interaction and intimacy, but it's not or at least they're telling us they're not members of the LGBTQ plus community. Correct, So what's going to happen.
00:10:01
Speaker 3: When they get out? So will they come out? So Frankie Grande, we love Frankie Grande and he is we need to call him. We're yes, we're going to see Titanique. We cannot wait. We got to do this.
00:10:13
Speaker 1: When are we going?
00:10:14
Speaker 3: Next? Next weekend?
00:10:15
Speaker 1: Not this weekend?
00:10:16
Speaker 3: No, next weekend? Are going to see Titanique? So Frankie Grande, Ariana Grande's brother who is gay, actually just did an interview without dot Com about this very thing. And he says he is concerned for Zach and and Bryce when they get out because they may not really understand what people are saying and what they're going to be dealing with when they get out. And he likened it to when he was on Big Brother because he wasn't fully out and he had a chowmance with another guy named Zach actually in season eight where he was on. He said that Zach came out later as bisexual, and so look, they he didn't know it. They didn't know it, and they had no idea that their flirtation was actually being talked about a lot online edited either.
00:11:03
Speaker 1: They had no.
00:11:03
Speaker 3: Idea, right, and so he said it actually hurt him. He said, the world perceiving us as a couple was detrimental to my mental health, and I really hope it doesn't go that way for them. And he does worry about how they're going to handle talking about their relationship when the show raps, because when the show raps, you know, all those journalists, anyone who wants to talk, they're all going to ask them, probably before they ask him them about Trinity and about Cada, They're going to ask them about their relationship and he's just concerned that they are not prepared and that they don't go the other way, that they don't get homophobic, that they don't go in the other direction, that there is this is a sensitive topic for in particular men and heterosexual men. They could be bisexual. We just don't know, and maybe it's not our business. But they are putting on a very public display of affection that I think is a fair question to ask.
00:12:00
Speaker 2: It's fair, and it's fair if they don't want to answer it, correct to keep moving on. But we are watching, you know, are invested in relationships in these shows. Yes, relationship between the women, relationships between the men, and yes, this one in particular is of particular note. Robes, this is what was We didn't watch it. Netflix show, the huge the rivalry.
00:12:20
Speaker 3: Heated rivalry, heated rivalry.
00:12:22
Speaker 1: Rivalry that was applauded. Did Gangbusters won awards? But ropes. There's not that lot that.
00:12:30
Speaker 2: Much representation on television is there that shows a male gay relationship and all of its intimacy and all of it's all right, just flirtations and little handholding and robes. They're doing it and don't realize they're doing it. They are putting this, and they are normalizing the intimacy, but not among gay folks.
00:12:54
Speaker 3: Correct, correct, And so it's confusing. And look, bisexuality hasn't really been explored that much on television and certainly not in these types of reality shows. So yes, this is if that's even what's possibly going on here. Look, there's an opening for a really interesting, important conversation about understanding, but it might not be one they're prepared to have. And I'm always curious what Trinity and Cada really think.
00:13:20
Speaker 2: Uh, stay here, folks, We're gonna maybe get into what they think, but I would like to know what you think, Robes and any other woman out there who is in a relationship with a man but then sees her man acting like this with another man.
00:13:34
Speaker 3: Stay here, Welcome back everyone to our going deep in the uh all of the inner workings of Love Island and the relationships that we're supposed to be talking about. Yeah, we're just talking about one in particular. It really does rise above the rest in terms of interest. Confusion Clarification might be needed, but yes, we're talking about.
00:14:06
Speaker 1: The strongest one.
00:14:08
Speaker 3: Yes, they make it to the end. Maybe they can win one hundred thousand. What a blot twist?
00:14:12
Speaker 2: Would they allow it if those two guys say we want to leave this island together?
00:14:17
Speaker 1: Nah, they couldn't. They couldn't change the show up.
00:14:19
Speaker 3: I don't know what.
00:14:20
Speaker 1: If America votes for those two.
00:14:21
Speaker 3: Well, that would be hilarious.
00:14:23
Speaker 1: If you recouple and say I want him, I.
00:14:25
Speaker 3: Think they would lean into it. Possibly, I don't know, but look, we talked about all the things we saw. I kind of glossed over a big moment that I think for me, this is one of the big eye openers. When what do they call it girth check or something? That was what he claimed he was saying. But all of a sudden, seemingly out of nowhere, Bryce just runs over to Zach and shows him his penis and says girth check and they laugh.
00:14:50
Speaker 1: I don't I don't know that. But what does that mean?
00:14:52
Speaker 3: He showed him as penis?
00:14:53
Speaker 1: But what's the girth check part? Is that a common thing? I don't know.
00:14:56
Speaker 3: I was going to ask you, I don't have a penis. I've never shown any like. I don't know why a man would show another man a penis? Do they need to before he goes to hang out with his girl? Want to just make sure all my junks in place, girth check or something. That's all I remember him.
00:15:10
Speaker 2: Saying, I don't I'm confused by guys doing it. But there was a name, a label to which I thought this was a common thing.
00:15:17
Speaker 1: I just wasn't aware. Do not google that we're gonna have to throw away that computer.
00:15:21
Speaker 3: It was just do it because I just thought, wait, what's going on? And then there are all those times they're in bed together.
00:15:28
Speaker 1: That was from the very beginning.
00:15:29
Speaker 3: They get it. They share lounge chairs together. They got plenty of lounge chairs there around the pool. They lay on the on the chair together on those little tiny chairs like you and I would do that.
00:15:41
Speaker 1: They was laying between his legs. One yes, you asked me.
00:15:44
Speaker 3: I would you ever lay like that with a man? And the worst part I actually asked Annalise what parts that out most to her? My twenty year old, and she said after he basically made a sexual act or like a like a dry hump from KTA, he literally goes over two seconds later and does the same thing to Bryce.
00:16:04
Speaker 2: Do you remember it? I'm just now remembering it, and maybe this all makes more sense. Episode one, Kada came in. She was the damn the hot one came into the bombshell, and she took two guys with her.
00:16:20
Speaker 1: Oh remember her?
00:16:24
Speaker 3: God, yes, so Kada and Oh my goodness, baby, it's so funny how much I forgot about that. So yes, Kada and Zach were clearly booed up, and Bryce was the hilarious third wheel, and he seemed upset, not that upset that Kada wouldn't kiss him. I think he missed his boy. I think he missed his man. I think he was a little jealous, but not for the reasons we were thinking now that I'm looking back, maybe he was jealous because he wanted in on it.
00:16:49
Speaker 2: It was episode one one. These two were in a bed together, not of their own doing. Kada made this happen. She had to pick two guys and they slept together one night in one bed, and she decides to.
00:17:02
Speaker 1: Go cuddle Zach. I couldn't believe it.
00:17:06
Speaker 2: Bryce made his way over this king size bed and tried to put his and tried to spoon everybody.
00:17:14
Speaker 1: That was night one. It was odd.
00:17:16
Speaker 3: On night one, we did think it was odd, and it's gotten odder.
00:17:20
Speaker 1: Got any problem with your man doing this?
00:17:22
Speaker 3: One hundred percent? I do because I don't think that kind of intimacy. This is just me personally, But if I'm in a relationship with a man, I don't want him giving affection to anyone or to anything other than his close family members. Like yeah, hug your mom, hug your daughter, hug your dad, like be all chummy and physically intimate with them in an appropriate way. Fine, but another person, and certainly another man, Like imagine if that were a woman. Obviously that wouldn't be okay. So why is it okay if he does it to a man? I think both of them would are disturbing choices to make when you are in a relationship with someone else, and to do it behind their back, to do it in front of them, I mean, I don't know how often it's done in front of Kada. A lot of this is some of it a little bit here and there, but a lot of this is done in the boys room, like when the girls are getting ready and the boys are getting ready. A lot of that. I mean, sure they haven't been hiding it, and obviously it's been a ongoing joke among the Islanders about their romance or their bromance. But this is beyond just a bromance that you laugh about. I am surprised Cada and Trinity haven't said more. But maybe they know something we.
00:18:33
Speaker 2: Don't, and maybe we know something they don't because we have seen, like you said, ropes, a lot that has been going on behind the scenes. It's interesting, it's fascinating. I'm curious about it. I'm curious what happens afterwards. It's just it is just not something we have seen, certainly on the show.
00:18:49
Speaker 3: I'm just curious, And I do want to point out because we said this double standard here when they had that big old orgy. I forgot which episode. It was a couple episodes ago. We had girls gusing girls right there, like absolutely making out, and nothing was said about that. So just we should point that out. It hasn't been an ongoing thing. That was kind of a spur of the moment. Let me try to sex this up and win the challenge.
00:19:13
Speaker 2: It doesn't count because it's in a challenge, right, I forgot.
00:19:16
Speaker 3: The body knows in a challenge you can do anything. Else? Is there? Do you think there's going to be more? Are they going to level it up even more? Do you think we're gonna see between Bryce and Zach I'm waiting for them to actually kiss.
00:19:29
Speaker 2: They will. I have no doubt they will. We might see them showering together.
00:19:33
Speaker 1: At some point.
00:19:34
Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised.
00:19:35
Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised about any of it at this point. But do you think, Fellas it's interesting to watch? But Brack doesn't have the right. I don't think it's gonna catch on.
00:19:45
Speaker 1: Brack.
00:19:45
Speaker 3: Sounds like murky water, which is exactly where we are, in a brackish state talking about Bryce and Zach.
00:19:51
Speaker 1: But I tried.
00:19:54
Speaker 3: Does not work, Brack, Brack, and look I think I try. No, I think it's appropriate. We're in murky waters. We can't see what's actually happening. So do your thing, Brack, and we'll be watching.
00:20:08
Speaker 1: We'll be watching tonight, all right, folks.
00:20:09
Speaker 2: Always appreciate you spending a little time with us on TJ on behalf of my dear Amy roboc. We will have another episode posted in just a second after this one to talk about the other drama that happened outside of the show. Yes, Alana, they got kicked off. We have an apology from her about her wrapping the in word. Yeah, folks, this has been another hell of a season.
00:20:31
Speaker 1: On Love Island. We always appreciate you. We'll talk soon.
00:00:31
