There was laughter, tears and drama from the islanders as Casa Amor and the Villa reunited and the recoupling ceremony ended with a bang. Speaker 2: It's Saturday, June twenty seventh, and Love Island Season eight, episode twixty one is in the books. Oh did I say Love Island? I meant to say Real Housewives of Fiji. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ didn't like this. Didn't like to have this one wrapped up. I don't like that kind of tension. I don't like that kind of drama in a reality show.

Speaker 3: Oh, oh my god. That was my favorite Love Island episode ever. And I've been watching Love Islands, I mean USA since the beginning and been watching other iterations of it, and that was my favorite episode. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I was invested, I was entertained, and I was blown away. There is no scripted television series that had that much real drama. It was unbelievable.

Speaker 3: Well, yes, but I was also there for the Corbin drama. I was there for the carl Bit. I was there for it all, even look and then I was there for the love story of Bryce and Trinity. I was crying tears of joy, and it was I cannot think of the last time I watched a show and I genuinely cried tears of joy.

Speaker 2: No matter what, there were low lights, I suppose that are given a lot of attention, but they were the highlight. And the anticipation going into it, for me, for us, was all about their reunion. Yeah, and wait to see and it delivered. Can we just start there with these two who found each other, robes, who are thrown together, who from completely different backgrounds, robes and acknowledge that who have found some kind of way too sweet Lee respect and enjoy each other and for the past few episodes with this casa more stuff independent of each other, not even knowing how much they were talking about each other and missing each other.

Speaker 3: Oh my god, It's like, first of all, it's every girl's dream. I mean to just see how much he was missing her, and then how much she was missing him. And when they finally came back together and they were both dressed in yellow, it was like a sign and he just was like, I missed you so much. All I could think about was you. And they're both crying, and there was like a choir of angels singing. The music they're using the producers are using in the background of all of this is spot on, Like they nail it with the music, and so they've got this like almost like ethereal joyful choir esque song playing in the background where you are just moved. I was moved to tears watching the two of them. I have my daughter's watching it a few hours later, sending me videos of them watching it crying. Everyone was invested and is in did in their love story.

Speaker 1: They're saving the show for me right now. They really are. I'm just for me. It's different for other folks, but robes they have been.

Speaker 2: They have been sincere in how they have navigated this thing in a way that not a single other couple can suggest. They've gone about it this well and respectfully and consider it.

Speaker 2: With authenticity and how they're authentically feeling about each other. But they're doing this thing even with the challenges and exploring. They seem to remember he pulled Kada.

Speaker 3: I was just gonna say even Kada his best friend, which we can't. We saw some things more things between zach And and Bryce that have me questioning a lot of stuff. But they have a very close relationship, obviously, and so for him to make a play or at least see if Kada had any feelings for him while he's in a relationship with Trinity and his best friend is her other half. That was pretty remarkable that he was able to manage that and that everyone around him wasn't. It didn't have a lasting negative impact, which is pretty significant.

Speaker 2: You've been saying, I don't know if we've said it on the mic here or not, but you've been saying this morning, you're invested, and now you're looking at they're the ones now that have been through something, who have overcome something, who've done a little stupid stuff, who both had to say I'm sorry to the other, but they still there's some level of consideration that we're seeing them share that this is the one, oh man, ROAs, this is the one We've seen other relationships and things in the past, and people end up together and it's sweet. This is I hope I'm not just caught up in the moment but I don't remember one that I appreciate this much a relationship on this show.

Speaker 3: It was so sweet. Look, what was so cool about this episode for me was with each person they brought up and everyone had to choose. I mean, there's such built in drama and for the most part, you kind of got what you were hoping for. And even when Corbyn stepped out with Permita, which, by the way, their dialogue is. I mean, I was crying. We were laughing so hard. They're just perfect for each other.

I know they edit these things way, and the and the narrator sometimes even makes fun of people and how they talk in their conversations. Ro there was some back, there was some gyms last night. Speaker 2: I hope it is caught up in these look he went to the New Villa and the Castle more and he has kind of opened up. He does seem like a different guy in a lot of ways since he's gotten over there.

Speaker 3: I don't understand why these women do this. They know you're coming in and America obviously is rooting for the OG. They want their girls to not be disrespected. You're coming into their home. I don't know why these women came in hot. They knew they were going to be potentially in an adversarial role with the woman who they replaced by speaking at So just be humble. Just don't come in like guns blazing like Permita. Did not cool, But I have to admit I wasn't upset when CORBN got booed, and it was cool to see the ladies stick it up for Kenzie and saying, hey, you don't have to like her, and you can move on and you can explore, but you don't have to say shit about our girl like you did on camera. And by the way, yeah we heard everything. That was kind of an awesome moment.

Speaker 2: I didn't like it. I don't like the setups. I think it's mean. I think it's intentional. I think it's done to forget Corbyn's part of it. It's done meant to inflict some real harm, like emotional harm. Now everybody's simply the easiest thing. Well, Corbyn just shouldn't have done that, and that's fine, and we can start there. But there's there is some meanness to the producing that I am seeing and not used to seeing. They're doing their thing. It's a hit show, so that's not a criticism. It's just not something I necessarily like watching. It's hard to watch some of the stuff. So Corbyn comes out and that was the first indication of oh god, here we go.

Speaker 2: It's just I get it, and it's fine, and I'm sure there are plenty of folks who are rooting for this and like this and like confrontation are used to these battles, if you will, in reality TV. I just didn't like that it came here. There's enough drama without some of the stuff they built in here.

Speaker 3: My only response to that is that all of these folks knew what they were signing up for. They've watched past seasons. They know that games are being played, they know that drama is being produced in the sense that they set up scenarios in which people are tempted to do things that maybe they wouldn't have otherwise and act a certain way, which creates the drama. So, look, they knew they were getting into this where they had to play games and there was going to be temptations, and so look, it is a competition and it's not boring, and the producers make sure it's not.

Speaker 2: It can be exciting and not mean, Like I am seeing emotional harm being inflicted like intentionally by some of the setups that they're having. Eh, not wild about that. And yes, people on the show themselves are responsible. They are doing things to each other and hurting each other. Yes, oh yes, yes, yes, ultimately that's their responsibility.

Speaker 3: It's so awkward after you know, he gets booed, Permita's saying all this stuff to the girls, like getting all whatever and then they have to go sit down next to each other in a group awkward.

Speaker 3: Individual and look, they did a good job of having those types of like aggressive reunion so to speak. And then switched to Kita and Zach, which actually ended up being really sweet, Like she told him she was upset, but then it was like he was. He had that sweet look on his face and he whispered to her, all effing make it up to you, Like there was there was a relief there. It was a relief when I saw them back to.

Speaker 3: Looked happy and look regardless of what happened with Ilana, he was not going to pick her. We know that just based on what we saw and his face when he sees her, like it's you can't make that up. I think that's what I love so much. These folks are actually having real reactions, like true authentic reactions, and you can see it all over their faces. And I love that part of it. Now, the Melanie Sincere thing, that was a little bit uncomfortable to watch, just because she is so hurt and yet to watch her still choose him, I had a hard time with that.

So the okay, And I don't know how that's going to sit with them moving forward, but hey, maybe they've gotten through something, maybe he's learned some lesson and now he has absolutely and his behavior has been worse, I thought, than the biggest villain of the season.

Speaker 3: I agree, bigger than Casey, I do think. So if you actually look and see what how he has acted. He absolutely has acted I think far worse than Casey has. I do agree with you there. I was shocked that Corey seems shocked. I mean, look every time he was the cause of a more person who she ended up basically, and Trinity actually kissed Corey, but Corey made the picnic for her and was coming on hard like I'm the man you need, a man like me, I'm the one who can handle you. You kept saying he's trying way too hard.

Speaker 2: If he probably would have backed it off a little bit, every a little space and was just kind and was there to listen. He was making two he was thing he was saying was too much of the exact right thing, and he was trying to look this ain't like a decent enough of nice guy.

I think he was overconfident and that for whatever that was not attractive. You know he And you're right, if he had just played a little hard to get just pulled a little bit back, she might have wanted something from him, but he just was coming on way too strong.

Speaker 3: Well, we were laughing at a certain point because when the boys, eventually, when the cost of war, guys kept hearing the women start off praising them, they started going like, oh fuck, because they knew that meant they weren't getting picked. Like the moment they started praising them, they knew they weren't getting picked. It was like the consolation prize will tell you how great you are, and they're trying to be nice, and that's when you know, Like when someone says that he's what's he like, you're getting set up for a day, Like he's really sweet, Like that's the kiss of death.

Speaker 2: And we we didn't think any of those guys were going to get picked. But when they started making their speeches, it was hilarious. It was very funny exactly what was going to happen. As soon as they started.

Carl's best chance for getting picked was how big of a jerk Casey was. That was the thing he had working for him. Is that Casey was just he.

Speaker 3: So that's so funny. It wasn't Casey, it wasn't any It was Carl and TC. But Carl was what I needed to give me a little bit of relief from all the unbelievable tension between Any and Casey. Obviously, Anya picks Ksey. Casey walks in with Titi, who also comes in even more guns blazing than Parmita did, which was not smart for her in terms of long term longevity or having any shot at the American people, especially the women watching this show. She is like the villain of the show and Casey right there with her.

Speaker 2: They well they're the villainous couple now. I don't think they deserve a lot of the hate they're getting. But at the TV show, and you know, they have to edit this thing in such a way to have certain characters fill certain roles. Rose the editing has to have.

Speaker 2: There are wild fluctuations we have every single season with people who are absolute favorites and then end up being our absolute least favorites. And just this, they have characters Babe.

Casey has a likable personality, he's charming, he's good looking, and then all of a sudden, you're like, wait a minute, you're just an f boy, which is what they all thought he was. And frankly, he started acting like that pretty quickly the second he got away from Anaya. And look, Anaya's speech to him was so hard to help. I actually couldn't believe I wasn't watching an actress with a script delivering an Emmy Award winning speech to this guy who just broke her heart. But it was so compelling. I was every like, how could you not feel something when you saw Anaya with tears running down her face saying I picked you, I picked you, you didn't pick me.

Speaker 2: And that is where I think the I would appreciate the episode ending there like on her, I didn't need to hear from him. Certainly didn't help him once he started speaking. But Anaya is coming from a place of pain, of history, robes.

So when Trinity is upset at you and you come at her and you don't even know her, that is not going to bode well for her longevity.

Speaker 2: I don't I have a problem with so much of the hate that is being thrown at some of these characters, without context, without any I just we're being dismissive of people because of behavior in the midst of a show that I think just some context and some grace is needed. Robes with these folks for what they're going through, and they're going through it in front of all of us, and they're going through it in real time and robes, they're going through it as human beings. We've seen some bad behavior, but it's not necessarily abnormal and it's not the end of the world. They just shouldn't be dismissed. I'm having more of a sympathetic turn here with so much hate coming towards people for displaying some bad behavior, but human behavior.

Speaker 3: Oh, I think that's a fair point. And these aren't just they aren't actors reading scripts. They're human beings who actually have real feelings. Even if you don't like how they behaved, even if you don't like their choices, they still have feelings and they're still human beings too.

I don't know what t t And again, you would have liked to, like you said, well, if you come in, should be a little considerate of ladies, understand coming in here and now this is happening. Who knew I would long for the kissing game instead of seeing this, I just I just this kind of nastiness the Housewives type, throwing table type. This didn't happen last night, but people started calling this batties, right, that show that is known for just this.

But there's there is some meanness to the producing that I am seeing and not used to seeing. They're doing their thing. It's a hit show, so that's not a criticism. They know that games are being played, they know that drama is being produced in the sense that they set up scenarios in which people are tempted to do things that maybe they wouldn't have otherwise and act a certain way, which creates the drama. So, look, they knew they were getting into this where they had to play games and there was going to be temptations, and so look, it is a competition and it's not boring, and the producers make sure it's not.

Now, the Melanie Sincere thing, that was a little bit uncomfortable to watch, just because she is so hurt and yet to watch her still choose him, I had a hard time with that.

Casey walks in with Titi, who also comes in even more guns blazing than Parmita did, which was not smart for her in terms of long term longevity or having any shot at the American people, especially the women watching this show. She is like the villain of the show and Casey right there with her.

And frankly, he started acting like that pretty quickly the second he got away from Anaya. And look, Anaya's speech to him was so hard to help. I actually couldn't believe I wasn't watching an actress with a script delivering an Emmy Award winning speech to this guy who just broke her heart. But it was so compelling. I was every like, how could you not feel something when you saw Anaya with tears running down her face saying I picked you, I picked you, you didn't pick me.

Robes with these folks for what they're going through, and they're going through it in front of all of us, and they're going through it in real time and robes, they're going through it as human beings. We've seen some bad behavior, but it's not necessarily abnormal and it's not the end of the world. They just shouldn't be dismissed. I'm having more of a sympathetic turn here with so much hate coming towards people for displaying some bad behavior, but human behavior.
