Love Island (EP 12): Aniya Says She’s “Over It.” KC Or The Drama?

Love Island (EP 12): Aniya Says She’s “Over It.” KC Or The Drama?

Say it ain’t so, but this episode ends with possibly the end of Aniya and KC! Meantime, Kenzie and Corbin say “F*ck it” and secretly resume their makeout sessions, but first swear each other to secrecy, so Mel and Caleb won’t get upset. Still, poor Caleb is left questioning his status at the villa, while Mel and Sincere take baby steps back towards one another. There is so much to unpack and so many relationship lessons to learn, as we lean in to all the unfolding drama.

00:00:02
Speaker 1: Hey there, folks. It is Tuesday, June sixteenth, and Love Island Season eight, episode twelve is now in the books. And what did we learn last night? Kinzie is really, really, really horny and with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ Robes her words.

00:00:21
Speaker 2: Those were her words, her words. She loves kissing. Corbin hadn't had sex and how long a year and a half. I believe she's not making shy about it.

00:00:29
Speaker 1: She's horny. She sounds like she just wants to have sex.

00:00:32
Speaker 2: Yes, and I think it probably got even more difficult for her to have to continue to wait after Cada came out of the hideaway with Zach and said to everyone.

00:00:42
Speaker 3: We had sex. It's fascinating to me.

00:00:45
Speaker 2: It used to be, you know, something that you wouldn't talk about or you would just be coy about.

00:00:50
Speaker 1: Nope.

00:00:50
Speaker 2: As an announcement, she was making it clear before she went in that they were going to do everything.

00:00:55
Speaker 1: Oh you know, okay, So yes, the headlines coming out of it, Yes, the first couple of season has had sex. Yes, Kenzy is really horny. Corbin is horny as well and willing to reciprocate. Yes, Melanie and mister insincere, seem to be going back on track to some degree, at least we see some on ramp of some.

00:01:19
Speaker 2: Kind, and yet she claims she's going to sleep in the bed with Corbyn tonight.

00:01:23
Speaker 1: Okay, And then the other big headline, Casey and Anaya.

00:01:27
Speaker 2: Oh, it's not going well. The couple that we thought was the strongest is falling apart right before. Sadly too. It's not even dramatically, unnecessarily falling apart, is what it is.

00:01:39
Speaker 1: It's so ridiculous. All right, So we haven't talked about this, Well, we'll end up fighting about that one.

00:01:43
Speaker 2: No, we won't because I actually, I actually think that we'll be on the same page.

00:01:48
Speaker 3: I do.

00:01:48
Speaker 2: I do think that we'll start. Let's start with Kenzy. Look, I thought it's I thought it was so funny. It's to me so obvious that Corbyn is so into Kenzie, and yet Kenzy is telling him you're not sure showing me that you want me. He tried to, I love how out of the respect for the couple, I'm not going to kiss the girl I really want to kiss. And then by the end of it, he's like he literally said fuck it and just started going to town with Kenzie.

00:02:15
Speaker 1: Okay, you but you set that up with Okay, this was the part I was curious about. Why is it? She continues, and they're almost a theme of the show. Ab I'll stick with her like how much attention can and can one show? And attraction? Can one show? And words? This woman is going all like you've shown me nothing.

00:02:37
Speaker 2: I was like, what are you talking about? I mean, maybe we hear she doesn't hear his confession to camera where he basically talks about how into her.

00:02:46
Speaker 1: He is not even talking about that. I'm talking about his interaction with her.

00:02:49
Speaker 3: Yas he seems very into her to me.

00:02:52
Speaker 2: I'm actually I was surprised, and I do agree with you, And I'm wondering, Man, are all of us like this?

00:02:57
Speaker 3: Maybe not? And maybe I'm wondering am I like this?

00:03:00
Speaker 2: Do we need so much attention and so much reassurance that it's actually exhausting? Because that's what I see play out, And now I need to check myself, like, wow, do I constantly need that?

00:03:10
Speaker 1: Let me put it this way, one one slip or any slight or anything that feels like an indication that a guy is not into you. You forget the fifty things he did earlier today to show you that he is into you. That's what it is.

00:03:24
Speaker 3: That's true.

00:03:25
Speaker 1: It negates all that other stuff, and you just focus on this one moment and then everything else falls apart that it's happening to a Naya. It's happening to Kinsey, it's happening to a Naya sad.

00:03:35
Speaker 3: Way right, and Melanie too.

00:03:36
Speaker 1: But that's what it is. More so than there's women constantly need something. It's just that negative one stinks.

00:03:44
Speaker 2: The negative one negates all of the positive ones.

00:03:47
Speaker 3: That's so true.

00:03:48
Speaker 2: And I think sometimes but I do think, as we talk about always wanting to learn lessons, I'm watching these women and I get it. They're in a highly it's it's a so much pressure and there's so vulnerable and they don't want to look stupid in front of America, and they're so aware that everyone's judging everything they're doing and how everyone's reacting to them.

00:04:09
Speaker 3: And so it's like the the almost.

00:04:13
Speaker 2: A heightened version of yourself because you're so uber aware and you're probably so much more self conscious than you normally would be.

00:04:20
Speaker 1: But strength, power and control are the things everybody is, or at least the women I would say, are trying to convey like I am in control of this. Nobody can do tell me what to do with my heart. I'm not going to get hung up on some guy, right And that is acting makes that makes you act out. They're trying to keep that stuff from being out there, and at the same time they're showing the exact opposite. It's okay to be vulnerable, just do it voluntarily. You know they're doing it now, just in an ugly way because they're trying to fight.

00:04:51
Speaker 2: It when you see it's so true. I'm watching this and I'm just fascinated by the drama too, but I'm also fascinated by human the human experience and what we do to protect ourselves and how silly we all look doing it. And so I think I'm learning more and more, especially this one, and I am impressed with some of these younger folks who are willing to be totally vulnerable. Like I thought it was cool that Corbyn said, Hey, I'm gonna put it out there like I want you, I miss you, I think about you, and I.

00:05:18
Speaker 3: Just thought that was cool people. That's very hard thing for a lot of people to say.

00:05:23
Speaker 1: Seeh I saw it differently.

00:05:26
Speaker 3: How did you see it? That's soot He's playing her.

00:05:28
Speaker 1: He's playing the game. He's playing the game right. I didn't find it necessary. I didn't see that moment as him being vulnerable. I found him to be keeping his options open. I need to make sure I say the right thing to her to make sure she knows. Now. I'm not saying it's not authentic, but I just saw that as just being very aware of what's going on with her. She doesn't need a whole lot, she needs a kiss or two. She needs a little reassurance and some Google eyes and Kensey's gonna stay on board. But Kensey is getting really really what's the right word. I struggle with words sometimes, but she's.

00:06:09
Speaker 3: Right meedy.

00:06:10
Speaker 2: I didn't want to use that, But you know what, it's funny because I think, for whatever reason, I think she's only holding on to Caleb as a backup. She we I think everyone can see she wants to be with Corbyn, and Corbyn wants to be with her.

00:06:22
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're hot for each other.

00:06:25
Speaker 3: And that's okay, right, Yeah, they're hot for each other. That's the best way to put it.

00:06:29
Speaker 2: It's probably not much deeper than that, and that's perfectly fine. I also had to ask what a foot job was during this, I was embarrassed, and then obviously it became pretty self explanatory. But I honestly, and I'm actually not even embarrassed about this.

00:06:45
Speaker 3: I have never heard of that.

00:06:47
Speaker 1: Why did you say you were embarrassed?

00:06:49
Speaker 2: Well, no, I you know what I'm saying. Like, on one hand, I'm embarrassed I didn't know that, like what that was. But then on the other hand, I'm kind of glad I didn't know because I didn't want to.

00:06:58
Speaker 1: Ever, don't be embarrassed think it. Don't be embarrassed because you didn't know. It would be embarrassed if you didn't.

00:07:05
Speaker 2: Exactly, That's what I was trying to say. You just said it better, all right? Can we talk about Anaya and Casey?

00:07:11
Speaker 1: I don't want to, Man, this is difficult to watch my brother go through this. I felt sad for him. I'm not liking this.

00:07:19
Speaker 2: I felt frustrated for him, and I felt like Anaya did all the wrong things. Bless her heart, like I do like her. I think she's a good person. I think her heart's in the right place. But she's hurt and so when you're hurt or you feel like you've been slided, what do you do? You go hurt?

00:07:40
Speaker 3: And so she basically completely.

00:07:43
Speaker 2: Sabotaged herself and told the guy who she actually is falling for to go be with another girl, to go see how he feels about Soul and then got up and said, I'm over it and she's not over it.

00:07:58
Speaker 3: So it was just and now he's up there going what the actual help?

00:08:03
Speaker 1: But I go back to what is she actually hurt about? Right? And this is where I say that you've heard me say this a million times. You move the goalpost, like when we handle one issue, then it's something else, and they handle that issue, then it's something else. But it started out what rose because he liked or said to a friend another guy. He said to Zach that Anayah was excuse me, that Soul was hot. Yeah, please help me with the word. And I would have dated her, but I'm.

00:08:31
Speaker 2: Good, but she would have been my type typically, but I'm with an eye and I don't want to mess up a good thing, or I don't want to mess up what we have.

00:08:37
Speaker 1: Okay, so that was the first thing. Didn't he apologize yes for that, say I'm sorry, he was got a little frustrated, but he's still moved past it. Now we're still going back and she keeps having conversations with other women who keep reassuring her in what she's thinking that, oh man, he shouldn't have done that. You don't want to be somebody's backup. I know, girl. He keeps on and on and reassuring and feeding this. Now she is spiraling and he hasn't done anything else yet. Now she's spiraling. He needs to have another conversation. Now, He would go ropes with her now, saying that Casey jokes around too much is the new thing? Now? You play too much?

00:09:17
Speaker 3: Well, you're too happy when I'm sad? Is what it basically is.

00:09:21
Speaker 1: That is his personality obviously, But what else exhausting? He asked her, And he stood up for himself, maybe for the first time in these conversations. I think I don't know what else to do or to change about myself. He actually said, this is my personality. I'm outgoing. He didn't just say, oh okay, I can be more saf I'm glad he stood up for himself with babe, what is he supposed to do? More? As we watch this from a bar.

00:09:47
Speaker 2: If he wants to be with her, if he wants to manage all of that insecurity, then he's just gonna have to to show her physically, be you know, touching her, smile, holding her hand, just like reassuring her through physical touch and words of affirmation that he's into her.

00:10:06
Speaker 3: She obviously, look.

00:10:08
Speaker 2: The only defense I will give her is that, look, she might not be articulating how she feels correctly because she's trying to find things that prove how she feels is real.

00:10:21
Speaker 1: Okay, but she.

00:10:22
Speaker 2: Obviously feels like he's not that into her. If she felt like he was all like touching her, saying girl, you're hot, walking up to her what she wants, what she needs, she's not feeling from him, So I think she's trying to point to all the things that he's doing that she can say because she doesn't want to admit I just I feel I don't feel you into me, and I think that's the basis of it, and she feels wild. She doesn't want to say it out loud, so she's looking for all these little things to point to it.

00:10:51
Speaker 1: Okay, I buy that, And she might genuinely feel the way she.

00:10:54
Speaker 2: Feels yeah, Oh, she definitely feels it, and she might there might be a seed of truth it, or he might just not be a super expressive guy when it comes to how he feels. But for instance, do you remember Zach with Kenzie he was kind of withdrawn a little bit and he's like, oh, and then as soon as he got with Kaita, he was a different person. So I think she's thinking, I don't see you have that spark towards me. I don't see you have that like hell, yeah, I'm into you. And she wants that. She wants a guy to be like you are the bomb.

00:11:24
Speaker 1: Wow. Okay. If she's not feeling that and that's what she wants, that is perfectly okay. And I don't know, Ropes, it comes off as, like you said, I didn't think about the way you put it, looking for other things instead of just saying that.

00:11:37
Speaker 2: Thing because it's too hard to say what really is going on. It's too embarrassing, and you're actually having to admit that you feel like less than or not enough.

00:11:50
Speaker 3: I can buy that, and I think that's the root of it.

00:11:53
Speaker 1: I don't know these It's again we say this all the time. Robes, how this show swings when the people you love one episode you can't stand in the next, or I'm gonna hate that bombshell, Oh my god, that's my favorite. And this couple's gonna be awesome, and little boy, here.

00:12:08
Speaker 3: We go, and that's what makes it fun day to day.

00:12:11
Speaker 1: You don't know the direction it's going to go. But this one's disappointing because I like them both.

00:12:16
Speaker 3: I don't know that they're gonna make it.

00:12:18
Speaker 1: I don't. But Casey, he better watch out because they gonna come after him if if he doesn't make this work with a Naya, if she walks away in some way feeling as if people on her side think she's been wronged in some way in case He's gonna be.

00:12:32
Speaker 3: Interesting, it's true, and she isn't.

00:12:34
Speaker 2: She has not tried or even like spoken to one other person. No, neither one of them have. I mean, maybe if they go and do that, they'll realize how much they actually like each other. That is possible.

00:12:49
Speaker 1: We've seen couples of this.

00:12:50
Speaker 2: We have seen.

00:12:51
Speaker 3: We have seen it.

00:12:52
Speaker 1: They come back to each other all right.

00:12:54
Speaker 2: When we come back though, speaking of coming back to each other, we have some things to discuss about. Melanie and and and Welcome back everyone to our Love Island edition of Amy and DJ. We're at episode twelve right we start to lose count. It's amazing how many episodes these producers push out every day. It's it's impressive, I have to say. And the drama is always there. I know they do have those games which look it's so funny, they seem so innocent.

00:13:33
Speaker 3: Sometimes they even seem boring or even gross.

00:13:35
Speaker 2: Yet there's always drama that comes out of them each and every time, and it lasts for several episodes.

00:13:42
Speaker 3: It's fascinating to watch.

00:13:45
Speaker 2: It just is because think about even that that game they played two days ago where Zach brought up the KC thing. That is that has been the undoing of Case and I. In fact, Zach even said I feel like I started World War three?

00:14:00
Speaker 1: Is Zach just playing this game really well?

00:14:02
Speaker 2: He might be, because he took out the most their biggest competition. If you think about it right now, Zach and Kaita are by far the strongest couple. They obviously just consummated their relationship so their official He made a joke, by the way, after the Hideaway saying, so, well, how would you feel if a bombshell came in and I wanted to explore that relationship. It was funny, it was cute basically meaning, ain't nothing going to break us up?

00:14:28
Speaker 3: Now?

00:14:30
Speaker 1: How are they not going to win this? Right?

00:14:31
Speaker 2: And their only threat was Anaya and Casey and Zach just took them out with one small comment, maybe he.

00:14:38
Speaker 1: Is the best best islander ever at playing this game.

00:14:42
Speaker 3: Oh my god, that would be hilarious.

00:14:44
Speaker 2: I think he's too nice of a guy to have done it deliberately, but it certainly worked in his favor.

00:14:48
Speaker 1: Work he's played us all.

00:14:51
Speaker 2: All right, what do we think about Melanie and Sincere? I'm frankly getting exhausted of those two.

00:14:56
Speaker 1: I'm done with Sincere. I don't nothing he does is now will come off het' using his name. We gotta call him something else.

00:15:03
Speaker 3: Insincere is his name?

00:15:04
Speaker 1: I mean really, but it's it's he's just doing this back and forth. It's one thing if your your heart is torn or whatever else, but he is actually giving full assurance to each woman almost within minutes of each other.

00:15:17
Speaker 3: I know he did.

00:15:20
Speaker 2: And the thing is, I understand guys do that in their private life all the time. That's nothing new, but he's doing it with cameras rolling and microphones recording, and like, we see you, we see what you're doing, and no woman is gonna like what they see.

00:15:36
Speaker 1: I'm surprised. You know what, Meli, when she calms down, can be okay. Really, when she's not upset and yelling. She calmed down a little, she was able to have a conversation. They had one, and I thought, like he was, He's dropping these little things that are going to pull at her, drop little things to say, yeah, I know I'm coupled up, but I still, man, I still think about.

00:15:58
Speaker 3: You, that stuff that messes with your head.

00:16:02
Speaker 1: And she's hearing there's a chance every little thing he drops, which is the stuff he's saying, could be true. And I'm not saying he's being inauthentic, but he's he's got her right there, bag in.

00:16:16
Speaker 2: And I'll tell you, Melanie has grown on me because look that girl. Yes there was drama, and yes she had some explosive moments, but you know what, she give me, give me ten, give me ten. But she feels deeply and it's not an act. The girl, And like I know, people are saying she's trying to get attention by sleeping outside. But look, if you really have feelings for someone, do you really want to be in the same room with them kissing someone else in a bed two feet.

00:16:43
Speaker 1: From you in two weeks?

00:16:44
Speaker 2: Yeah? But I know, But I actually feel like she is trying to protect her mental headspace by removing herself from the room where the guy who she likes is literally in bed with another girl who she can't stand.

00:17:00
Speaker 1: They don't think you can. I thought they hugged it out and they're good. Now good?

00:17:03
Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, she can.

00:17:04
Speaker 2: I think she can probably feel less anger towards Soul because she knows that was her literal role in the show to come in as a bombshell and break up couples. That is what her designated role was for the show.

00:17:19
Speaker 1: Good job nailed it, Soul nailed it.

00:17:24
Speaker 2: But but I do think what I'm curious, do you think Casey is now going to make a play for Soul And could that bring Sincere and mel back together and just basically then that would mean Anaya would be on the chopping block potentially.

00:17:41
Speaker 1: I'm going to say is what I'm going to say. It's Soul seemed to be really into Casey at least was amused by him. She had fun with them, She was very comfortable with them.

00:17:51
Speaker 3: She did.

00:17:53
Speaker 1: Casey's energy has completely changed when it comes to a naya now, and whose side do you tell you? We don't have to. These are just human beings going through something in a relationship. We see it play out. It's okay that everybody can be a little bit in the right and a little bit and the wrong in the situation. But he is at least feeling that he is taking a type of incoming now that he's not looking at her the same. The energy is.

00:18:18
Speaker 3: Just oh, the energy is unbelievable.

00:18:20
Speaker 1: If he has an opportunity, if if Sincere in the next episode says, Casey, you kind of pull you for a chat. This is what we're gonna do. You come, get sole off my hands. Me and Melanie are going to be good. Get an eye out of here for you. If they came up with a plan.

00:18:42
Speaker 2: But you know what's so cool about Love Island. They can't do that off camera.

00:18:46
Speaker 1: No, no, no, but they can do it behind and a eye is back.

00:18:48
Speaker 2: Absolutely And you even heard who was it that was saying, don't tell anyone that we kissed. Oh yeah, So when Kenzie and Corbyn decided to finally at the end say f it and make out. They know that if it comes out that they made out again, that Mel's gonna go crazy and be upset because Corbyn just told her, Hey, I didn't kiss Kenzie because I'm going to really try to focus on you, and she's talking about what a gentleman he is and how she thinks he respects her. Oh, it'll you know, it's going to come out too right, There's no way that's not going to come out.

00:19:17
Speaker 1: Well. I don't know if those two will tell. The problem I saw for them is that America is not going to appreciate that.

00:19:22
Speaker 3: No, they're not right.

00:19:24
Speaker 1: America is actually voting for couples that have a chance. So they think, like some hope, right, they don't want to see people. This is not Survivor, This is not that kind of show. It looks like they are now intentionally you know, deceiving Melani that people still have a heart for. And freaking Caleb right, who Yes, it's the sweetest damn guy.

00:19:46
Speaker 3: Sweet boy from Charleston.

00:19:47
Speaker 2: He just loves to just hang out with his friends, good guys, plotting.

00:19:51
Speaker 1: Against those two behind their backs.

00:19:53
Speaker 3: I think it might be like, and I don't.

00:19:56
Speaker 2: It's so fascinating to see just how it all plays out. Because our big issue with some of these other shows that we've stopped watching is because when the cameras turn off, there is plotting that goes on. These folks do understand what's going on in America or how we're watching it, and how they're being perceived. This particular show is awesome because no one knows how they're being perceived because they can't check on their phones and there are no times where they are off camera, so they can't plot or do something to try and manipulate how they're perceived. Everything they do, everything they say, we see, and more importantly, the producers see. So it's one of the reasons why I love this show. It's real, and yes it's intense, but I can't stop watching.

00:20:44
Speaker 1: This is sign I do. I love these relationship conversations that are happening, and how so different with men and women. You and I see it, but it's I wish we could have a better comment. It's just gone into a fight online right again, everybody taking sides, but there are opportunities to actually see how Anaya is reacting. And Casey is reacting robes that happen in every day life. You're not seeing or hearing each other, feeling each other, listening to each other. It is absolutely playing out. Man. We should all take to do, not do what they're doing right, and.

00:21:17
Speaker 3: When you see it.

00:21:19
Speaker 2: I actually do have these moments where I can actually check myself, Oh my god, I'm doing what I saw what I was just making this up?

00:21:26
Speaker 3: Anaya do? Or what I saw mel do? Oh my god, am I doing that right now?

00:21:31
Speaker 2: And then with that outside perspective, you can actually apply it in moments of calm and say whoa. Because miscommunication that is what is happening, and hurt feelings and egos and pride and all of that. That is the undoing of pretty much every relationship. And it's fascinating when you can watch this and be entertained but also learn, and that's what we like to do.

00:21:56
Speaker 3: All right.

00:21:57
Speaker 2: Hope you all are enjoying the show as much as we are.

00:22:00
Speaker 3: Always appreciate you listening to us. I made Roebuck alongside TJ. Holmes. We'll talk to you soon.

00:22:06
Speaker 2: M
