But this is a company that has and is known for its hair styling products. It's got flat irons and basically round brushes with air to try and pull your hair straight. Lots of different ways to make your hair do what you hope it can do. But this one in particular is a two in one hot comb and it gives sleek root to tip results on curvy, wavy, or textured hair. And so they claim that all hair types can be straightened with this product.

So it's really cool you can feel good about this company and purchasing a product from this company because they really are social entrepreneurs.

It is, and I refusee like I'm somebody, especially when I was in television every day and I was obviously lucky enough to have hair and makeup every day, but I used to always have to kind of have a little bit of a tussle with the new hairstylist to say, please, please, please do not flat iron my hair because it does so much damage. I mean, you're talking about putting hair between two hot irons basically, and yes, it's effective. Your hair will straighten, but it's a lot of heat and a lot of deat, and you're pulling it. The comb actually glides through your hair and it's hot. It's a hot comb. Basically, it is a hot comb.

I do not want to use a flat iron on my hair because it damages your hair. And if you're doing this every day to your hair. And look, the thing is with the nice thing about this comb is it doesn't have to be stick straight like ironboard straight. I mean, if you want that, you can do it. But you can also manipulate it a little bit, so there's a little bend at the end. So it is nice you can do and I know you can do that a little bit with a flat iron two. But I just hate how thin my hair gets with a flat iron. It. Actually it seals your hair follicles, so that like I have basically wavy hair that's frizzy, and so I have to pull it straight. My hair is not naturally straight, you know that, But when I flat iron it, it gets really thin and limp, and I don't like the way it looks. So this actually is kind of a balance between the two where you get a straighter look, but it still has fullness to it because it hasn't flattened it out completely.

Speaker 2: Well, I say, I'm going to compliment you when you are your hair looks. I don't want to attribute it to this utensil, but you used it for the fine you Whenever these days you get dulled up or your hair is really done, it's up when we're going out to an event almost always. The only time I often now see you take it down or it's freshly done is when you come straight from the salon correct or if you have some event that you or something you think you want to be in front of a camera. You like to do your hair a certain way. All of those ways, when it's down or straight, they're big, they're puffy. This is my favorite way you wear your hair straight because it doesn't include all that and the sprays. It's just long and it's this is the best that you wear your hair in generally speaking. So I'm not just saying it's because of this item.

Speaker 1: Yes, because and I will say that is a problem. The puffiness is not. Sometimes people tease their hair, and in the eighties I absolutely did trying to make my hair big, like my hair did not fit into But I know what I'm trying to say, is I actually hate when it gets big, and I don't like it completely flat and lifeless and limp. But my hair is so like curly and porous that when I blow it out, it does get big, and it's embarrassing to me because I don't want to have nineteen eighties Mariah Cara carry hair like I want it to be work for her. It did right, and in the eighties it all worked.

I think it does a great job. I love the fact that you can pick the temperature you want to use for your hair that works best for you, that does the least amount of damage. And I love this company and how it was founded and how it gives back. I think it's really really, really cool. And I love the founder of this organization, Dahlia her maiden name was launched, but I think it's now it's Dhalia Hadari is who is the president of this company. But she created this company because she wanted to pick create products that actually are that address unique hair concerns. So it's not just for one set of hair, but for everyone different types of hair. And she really wanted to create these products at affordable price points, and so that's a big part of this. And she also if you go on their website, they have how to tutorials, how to use the products, how to take care of your hair, how to take care of what you're buying from them anyway. I just think it's cool. It's all encompassing. It's not just a product that someone just put out in mass production. This is actually a product that seems like someone cares about it and cares about who's using it and how they're using it. That does matter when you're choosing between lots of different products. And so Amazon reviews actually one hundred percent back that up. Seventy five percent of the Amazon reviews were five and four stars. I think that's huge. Do you look at reviews before you buy things?

Speaker 2: Never? There don't because usually I'm not trying stuff seriously, I'm know what I get. Even if I'm going to buy a TV, I know I stick with Samsung. If I'm getting audio equipment, I'm getting both, right, I don't usually have a lot of chance to try something new. I'm setting my ways.

Speaker 2: I don't think I ever have wanted to, because I've had really horrible experiences here or there to the point that you want to do something, and we've had the experience where I want to warn somebody about this, So no, no, but people feel strongly enough they want to come in on a hot comb.

Speaker 1: To your point, though, I feel like most reviews to get somebody to go and leave one usually it's because they're pissed or there's a negative review. So I actually feel like when you have a preponderance overwhelming majority of reviews being really positive, that speaks volumes because I don't think a lot of people feel as strongly when they like something versus how strongly they feel when they don't like something and they want to warn someone about it. So I take those reviews seriously. I think it's a big deal and very cool. So yes, you can buy this product at Lange hair dot com. So that's l A N G E h ai R dot com. And again they have a lot of other bits of information about the company, about the product. It's just it's a great website. I really enjoyed it. Or of course you can go onto Amazon, and I don't know how people feel about the price. It's more expensive than I have spent the one that I had in our cabinet was probably about half the price, but it doesn't have the bells and whistles, and I honestly haven't really used it that much.

I can tell it is, but it ain't working for my hair and said, look, I've got this type of hair and it's just not working. And I'm sure it works great on most other hair, but nothing works on mine. So I did see some women of color say that just as a warning to other women of color. Hey, make sure you know your hair and what it can do. And you might think this product is gonna help, but it didn't help mine.

Speaker 2: So what do we do with that? Oftentimes, empower people with all hair types except empower except y'all. Didn't make this for y'all. Because I made it for y'all, then I might miss out. I'm not criticizing the company for this, but that frustration is there. You start, when you started, I intentionally didn't ask you. In the first part of it sounds great, sounds great, all hair tipes boom, boom, boom, And then we get to this part, and I understand we got some unique hair. I grew up watching a literal comb on the fire, open flame on the stove, sitting there getting hot, and my mother would pick it up and run it through my sister's hair. Wow, that is what I know to for a hot comb to be and what it took to straighten my sister's hair. Yeah, we don't have the same hair type. I haven't had to say. I got it from my mama's eyes.

Speaker 1: I don't know, Yeah I can, I can tell you that it is. It is one hundred percent I know, oh wow, like normally I had. And look, the thing is with the nice thing about this comb is it doesn't have to be stick straight like ironboard straight. I mean, if you want that, you can do it. But you can also manipulate it a little bit, so there's a little bend at the end. So it is nice you can do and I know you can do that a little bit with a flat iron two. But I just hate how thin my hair gets with a flat iron. It. Actually it seals your hair follicles, so that like I have basically wavy hair that's frizzy, and so I have to pull it straight. My hair is not naturally straight, you know that, But when I flat iron it, it gets really thin and limp, and I don't like the way it looks. So this actually is kind of a balance between the two where you get a straighter look, but it still has fullness to it because it hasn't flattened it out completely.

Speaker 2: Well, I say, I'm going to compliment you when you are your hair looks. I don't want to attribute it to this utensil, but you used it for the fine you Whenever these days you get dulled up or your hair is really done, it's up when we're going out to an event almost always. The only time I often now see you take it down or it's freshly done is when you come straight from the salon correct or if you have some event that you or something you think you want to be in front of a camera. You like to do your hair a certain way. All of those ways, when it's down or straight, they're big, they're puffy. This is my favorite way you wear your hair straight because it doesn't include all that and the sprays. It's just long and it's this is the best that you wear your hair in generally speaking. So I'm not just saying it's because of this item.

Speaker 1: Yes, because and I will say that is a problem. The puffiness is not. Sometimes people tease their hair, and in the eighties I absolutely did trying to make my hair big, like my hair did not fit into But I know what I'm trying to say, is I actually hate when it gets big, and I don't like it completely flat and lifeless and limp. But my hair is so like curly and porous that when I blow it out, it does get big, and it's embarrassing to me because I don't want to have nineteen eighties Mariah Cara carry hair like I want it to be work for her. It did right, and in the eighties it all worked.

I think it does a great job. I love the fact that you can pick the temperature you want to use for your hair that works best for you, that does the least amount of damage. And I love this company and how it was founded and how it gives back. I think it's really really, really cool. And I love the founder of this organization, Dahlia her maiden name was launched, but I think it's now it's Dhalia Hadari is who is the president of this company. But she created this company because she wanted to pick create products that actually are that address unique hair concerns. So it's not just for one set of hair, but for everyone different types of hair. And she really wanted to create these products at affordable price points, and so that's a big part of this. And she also if you go on their website, they have how to tutorials, how to use the products, how to take care of your hair, how to take care of what you're buying from them anyway. I just think it's cool. It's all encompassing. It's not just a product that someone just put out in mass production. This is actually a product that seems like someone cares about it and cares about who's using it and how they're using it. That does matter when you're choosing between lots of different products. And so Amazon reviews actually one hundred percent back that up. Seventy five percent of the Amazon reviews were five and four stars. I think that's huge. Do you look at reviews before you buy things?

Speaker 2: Never? There don't because usually I'm not trying stuff seriously, I'm know what I get. Even if I'm going to buy a TV, I know I stick with Samsung. If I'm getting audio equipment, I'm getting both, right, I don't usually have a lot of chance to try something new. I'm setting my ways.

Speaker 1: So what about even buying a gift for someone and you want to weigh, like, compare all the different types of products. No, you don't look at I always look at right. I think reviews are huge. Would you ever leave a review?

Speaker 2: I don't think I ever have wanted to, because I've had really horrible experiences here or there to the point that you want to do something, and we've had the experience where I want to warn somebody about this, So no, no, but people feel strongly enough they want to come in on a hot comb.

Speaker 1: To your point, though, I feel like most reviews to get somebody to go and leave one usually it's because they're pissed or there's a negative review. So I actually feel like when you have a preponderance overwhelming majority of reviews being really positive, that speaks volumes because I don't think a lot of people feel as strongly when they like something versus how strongly they feel when they don't like something and they want to warn someone about it. So I take those reviews seriously. I think it's a big deal and very cool. So yes, you can buy this product at Lange hair dot com. So that's l A N G E h ai R dot com. And again they have a lot of other bits of information about the company, about the product. It's just it's a great website. I really enjoyed it. Or of course you can go onto Amazon, and I don't know how people feel about the price. It's more expensive than I have spent the one that I had in our cabinet was probably about half the price, but it doesn't have the bells and whistles, and I honestly haven't really used it that much.

Speaker 1: Yes, So some of the reviews that I saw on it, there were a few I think I saw three or four where women of color said this is a great product. I can tell it is, but it ain't working for my hair and said, look, I've got this type of hair and it's just not working. And I'm sure it works great on most other hair, but nothing works on mine. So I did see some women of color say that just as a warning to other women of color. Hey, make sure you know your hair and what it can do. And you might think this product is gonna help, but it didn't help mine.

Speaker 2: So what do we do with that? Oftentimes, empower people with all hair types except empower except y'all. Didn't make this for y'all. Because I made it for y'all, then I might miss out. I'm not criticizing the company for this, but that frustration is there. You start, when you started, I intentionally didn't ask you. In the first part of it sounds great, sounds great, all hair tipes boom, boom, boom, And then we get to this part, and I understand we got some unique hair. I grew up watching a literal comb on the fire, open flame on the stove, sitting there getting hot, and my mother would pick it up and run it through my sister's hair. Wow, that is what I know to for a hot comb to be and what it took to straighten my sister's hair. Yeah, we don't have the same hair type. I haven't had to say. I got it from my mama's eyes.

But it did seem like the majority of people, and especially women of color, saying, look, my hair is really curly, but it's so specific.
