And she acknowledged for the very first time that her mom may not be alive, that they are just tortured not knowing. But they've obviously gotten to a point now four weeks into this search that they understand it could be the outcome they have feared the most, but not knowing is even worse.

There was even some distinguishing features in terms of the backpack he was wearing where he purchased it from. They don't know that he could have pulled this off on his own. They don't have a motive, they don't have a suspect, they don't have a person of interest, and they cleared the entire family and circle of friends, which is almost always where you find your suspect. These random violent acts kidnapping, etcetera, rarely happen by strangers taking strangers. It's almost someone you're connecting here.

So, yes, they are commiserating. They say, we know there are millions of families who have suffered with this same kind of uncertainty. So there's real empathy coming from them in that sense where they understand now probably for the first time in their lives, what it's actually like to not know. I've thought about this. You and I have covered so many stories about missing children, and as a parent, the first thing you think is that would be absolute living hell to not know. It's hard enough to get the information that you didn't want to hear, but it's even harder to have zero information, to have it be this mystery that you can't solve. And that's what they're facing right now.

I guess she figures there are enough crafty people out there who can find emails and a way to texture. But she's saying, however, you want to get in touch with us. FBI has also put something out on x asking anyone with first hand knowledge of Nancy Guthrie's whereabouts to contact them for that reward money. So they are blasting this out to everyone that there is a million dollars up for grabs. If you want to sell out the person you know who kidnapped Nancy.

Our investigation continues, it is growing, it is not being downsized. So he now is finding himself seeing headlines and having to either soften them or completely refute them. But that's as far as we've gotten in terms of new information on this case up until today.

To this day, I remember that story. They still don't know what happened to her. Look, I'm saying these stories, I remember stories exist.
