Police say they are aware of a tip that led a Mexican group to search for a grave, but have not been contacted by authorities regarding any development. They also acknowledged they arrested three you tubers for disturbances outside Guthrie’s home. And finally, a kidnapper at large in the Tucson area, just 15 minutes from Guthrie’s house, has nothing to do with the missing 84-year-old mother and grandmother.

But all of a sudden, we've got headlines left and right about an arrest warrant being issued for somebody for possible kidnapping, about several arrests being a made near Nancy Guthrie's home, and now word of an anonymous tip that led to a search for Nancy Guthrie. Yes, there have been a lot of headlines a robe don't know if they're actually going to lead to much.

Speaker 2: No, but they actually were, or they rose to the level that the Piva County Sheriff's Department felt the need to respond to them because there is so much out there that people are talking about and this is what they're trying to at least tamp down any rumors that may go wild. So we're hearing the Pima County schaff Department getting on X getting on social media, making statements to the public about what to believe, what to look at as true, and what to.

But she's been missing since February one. And Robes, there were headlines and there is still some curiosity about a story coming to us out of Mexico that a group there got a tip and they acted on it.

Speaker 2: Yes, a Mexican group says there was a tipster that said there was a possible grave in Mexico, I believe in the Maraposa area for anybody who knows that. So this Mexican group, and they're called the Buscondo Corizones Nogales group, and they are known for looking and searching for missing people. So they say they got a tip that searchers could find a body matching Nancy Guthrie's description in the Mariposa area near Nogala, Sonora, Mexico.

Speaker 1: I mean, that's just wow, first of all, but I'm sure there are tips. We even talked about it. Robes the Pema County Sheriff FBI. They got thousands of tips, but Robes, this is pretty specific.

Speaker 2: Yes, and certainly drew the attention of a lot of folks when this group started talking, so much so that the Pema County Sheriff's Department put this out saying, we are aware of reports regarding an anonymous tip related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation that was provided to a group in Mexico. At this time, we have not been contacted by Mexican authorities. This investigation remains active and ongoing, and we will continue to follow up on any credible information. So they're acknowledging this rumor, but I guess they're saying, hey, look, if they find something, if this group finds something, if Mexican authorities find something, they're certainly going to.

It seems like that elevated this tip to an even higher level. And almost legitimize the headlines. And they're saying, yeah, we haven't heard anything yet. But it didn't completely shut this down and say this is one of thousands of tips. Please don't pay any more attention to this than the thousands were getting each day, but please keep calling and anything could be interesting. They didn't put it like that. I feel like the way they worded this, it could be something.

Speaker 1: I was about to push back on what you said until you said you put it that way, because I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that I mean, you gotta say something. This thing is getting headline, you just make sure you're on the record with it. But they didn't shoot it down. They had an opportunity to say what you just said, So why not. I don't know. Maybe we're reading too much into it, and we haven't heard much about this case, and we're reading into.

She's not far from the border.

I think that maybe they're thinking this could lead to something, but they're not saying yes, this is a positive lead or we have a good feeling about this, but they are acknowledging it and saying, hey, we're basically waiting to hear from the Mexican authorities.

Would you engage them initially or maybe not? Again, this is a Mexican group that does this down there, that isn't focused on American citizens at all. In fact, so yes, well, hope they said they were going to search, and I think the search is done already. It did bear fruit, but not for the Guthrie family or anybody back in the US.

Forget who took her, forget why they took her. But if you can just lead authorities to where Nancy Guthrie's body is, that's the million dollars right there. Oh wow, So you know, just word of a tip being taken seriously being acted upon could possibly motivate somebody who knows something to call in another tip that could be one of you.

Obviously, it's very small amounts and they're trying to do what they can with the materials or the samples that they have, but obviously it's clearly not easy.

You're hearing about a bungled investigation, and yes, you're hearing about these arrests that have been made outside of Nancy Guthrie's home by some YouTubers and one in particular who's now been arrested for the second time.

Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been out. Then apparently he's been a nuisance to the Pima County Sheriff. Of course he has his own side of the story, but yes, broke some of the things they talk about. The neighbors are complaining about. Obviously it's not as many people out there as before, but we remember the live pictures when this case was going on. YouTubers, Internet sluice, podcasters, people were flocking to that area doing their live streams and their live broadcast, trying to pick up followers, subscribers, views, whatever, and understand that. And there are some gods, so we don't want to take away there are good folks who think there are and want to contribute to finding this woman. Sure, but the stuff they say this guy was out there doing being a nuisance was a pe tent. They said he set up somewhere. He was putting outgusting cones in the street to block traffic, even though it was just him sitting in a lawn chair kind of a thing. Was he resisted arrest at one point, it's not. A sheriff deputy was knocked down during one of it. So it's and harassing the neighbors. And there's been all kinds of stuff that goes beyond just being present.

Speaker 2: Yes, I think the early complaints from all of the media that had assembled there were that they were ordering like grub hub and pizza delivery, like to a residence street oh, you know, just just not not respectful of the fact that people that's their home.

Speaker 1: They put their address, they ordered food in the address was Nancy Guthrie's address. That's awful. I mean, ah, losight you do?

Speaker 2: And yeah, to describe exactly, the police department described the behavior of mister Zabel, saying that they received several complaints, so they're responding to neighbors complaining it's not just the police cracking down on this guy. And they said at the time of the incident, mister Zabel was live streaming from outside the residence. Deputies made contact with him and during the arrest process, a sergeant was knocked to the ground. So, yes, he's doing this for streams, he's doing this for views. He's got the live streaming up. And you've got to think four months, four months, these neighbors have dealt with an onslaught of either media, social media influencers, YouTubers, and probably just folks who are curious who are going through the area and want to see where it all went down.

Speaker 1: So at least a Farrish department thinks this YouTuber has been adding to that circus, but he hasn't been the only one. At least two other influencers or live streamers, I should say I have been arrested. I think they know him, they in some way work with him as well, But they were arrested a couple of times as well. But before that, even the thing that had me scratching my head and I really had to do a deep diab on because the headlines were saying before all this that somebody was wanted for kidnapping near Nancy Guthrie's home. Now that will get your attention.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's not was it is. Her name is Coral Michelle Smith, and I said, yes her. So that immediately makes you go, wait, what, because when you hear kidnapper being sought after near Nancy Guthrie's home, you're immediately thinking it's connected. It is not connected to this case. She does, however, remain at large. She is wanted on kidnapping and assault charges involving an unidentified female. Apparently this all happened on May twenty ninth. That happened about fifteen minutes away from Nancy Guthrie's residence. And so that's the problem. So they found the woman. The female victim who's not being named. They found her and she is safe naps from this kidnapping. But the kidnapper, Coral Michelle Smith, is still at large. So, yes, there are all these headlines that a kidnapper is on the lamb near Nancy Guthrie's home, and that is true. It's just confusing when we all know the story connected to Nancy Guthrie's.

Speaker 2: Yes, I think the early complaints from all of the media that had assembled there were that they were ordering like grub hub and pizza delivery, like to a residence street oh, you know, just just not not respectful of the fact that people that's their home.

Speaker 1: They put their address, they ordered food in the address was Nancy Guthrie's address. That's awful. I mean, ah, losight you do?

Speaker 2: And yeah, to describe exactly, the police department described the behavior of mister Zabel, saying that they received several complaints, so they're responding to neighbors complaining it's not just the police cracking down on this guy. And they said at the time of the incident, mister Zabel was live streaming from outside the residence. Deputies made contact with him and during the arrest process, a sergeant was knocked to the ground. So, yes, he's doing this for streams, he's doing this for views. He's got the live streaming up. And you've got to think four months, four months, these neighbors have dealt with an onslaught of either media, social media influencers, YouTubers, and probably just folks who are curious who are going through the area and want to see where it all went down.

Speaker 1: So at least a Farrish department thinks this YouTuber has been adding to that circus, but he hasn't been the only one. At least two other influencers or live streamers, I should say I have been arrested. I think they know him, they in some way work with him as well, But they were arrested a couple of times as well. But before that, even the thing that had me scratching my head and I really had to do a deep diab on because the headlines were saying before all this that somebody was wanted for kidnapping near Nancy Guthrie's home. Now that will get your attention.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's not was it is. Her name is Coral Michelle Smith, and I said, yes her. So that immediately makes you go, wait, what, because when you hear kidnapper being sought after near Nancy Guthrie's home, you're immediately thinking it's connected. It is not connected to this case. She does, however, remain at large. She is wanted on kidnapping and assault charges involving an unidentified female. Apparently this all happened on May twenty ninth. That happened about fifteen minutes away from Nancy Guthrie's residence. And so that's the problem. So they found the woman. The female victim who's not being named. They found her and she is safe naps from this kidnapping. But the kidnapper, Coral Michelle Smith, is still at large. So, yes, there are all these headlines that a kidnapper is on the lamb near Nancy Guthrie's home, and that is true. It's just confusing when we all know the story connected to Nancy Guthrie's.

Speaker 1: It's just it was just a bizarre headline. But again, Robes, these are not developments in the Nancy Guthrie case. But these are the only things that have risen to the level of being reported in the case because the case itself, Ropes, hasn't seen a significant development.

Speaker 2: But you probably also think, hey, you know what, at this point, we'll take any spotlight back on my mom's case. We'll take any spotlight back on finding Nancy Guthrie, bringing it back into people's minds. Maybe people who just need to take a new look at it, maybe realize if you're near the area, you know people in the area, that maybe you know something that you didn't think was relevant. So look, that's always what the biggest challenge is when months go by, to get people to care, to get people to still keep searching, because crimes do get solved that have gone for months and years, They just but they need someone to focus, They need people to care, and so hey, there are headlines and maybe they will lead to the one that we've all been waiting for, some answers into what actually happened to Nancy Guthrie.
