Listener Reviews
Best find in a while
Hilarious and insightful. David is the real deal, genuine as hell, can’t believe this doesn’t have more ratings.
Quit alcohol, started drinking this podcast
I can’t get enough of this podcast. Funniest person I’ve listened to. You never know what’s coming next but it never disappoints. I wish i could slam a couple organic cranberry kombucha’s with him
Hilarious.
The most relatable memoir about quitting alcohol I have come across. Literally makes me howl with laughter and I love Boyle’s honesty. I’m 35 days into quitting myself and this podcast has been a breath of fresh air amongst all the other material out there.
Dig it!
I wish they were longer than 5 minutes but I'll take what I can get. His dark humor and whit makes a "sobriety" podcast enjoyable for folks like me.
Blunt
Best podcast if your serious about quitting the drink. It’s not a podcast that will suit everyone. It’s dry, it’s fu$king hilarious and it’s brutal. Boyle says it as it is I dig that wish I had the nuts 🥜🥜to air material like this. Best listened to from the very beginning I’m not even half way but I’m hooked. Better to be hooked on the Boyle then the bottle 💀💀.
Anything can happen.
Great journey from sucking dudes off in alleyways until, who knows, probably until getting sucked off by dudes in proper train station toilets? Anything can happen in this really funny podcast that i am following whilst trying to get sober myself. Worth tuning in even if you are able to go out for a drink without ending up in a fight with a cop and/or prostitutes.
David’s a funny dude
Check this podcast out!! It’s very funny and honest. Lots of good drunken tales that always have me laughing out loud. Good stuff! 💗
Love It
I’ve just given up alcohol too & most sobriety podcasts are way too serious. They have their place but this helps keep things on a lighter level. He’s awesome & I’m hooked.
Speaking to my soul
I can’t figure out if this guy speaks to me because all alcoholics are the same to their core or what but it’s scary how much of this I can relate to. Great podcast, still drinking though. Maybe I’ll stop when it’s going to kill me
Harsh but fair
I love these podcasts! I am listening to them any chance i get (not whilst my kids are about because the language is a bit ripe!) But mostly in the kitchen when i'm cooking or at the gym on the treadmill! I have recently given up the booze too so its a great help to hear how you have coped with it. Keep em up Boylsie! : )
A good insight into the brutal reality that hits close to him
You dislike him at the start and you get a sense of smugness that you think are hoolier than thou, but you soon realise that Boyle just is just like you, if you were actually honest to yourself. It is a refreshingly honest insight of the journey an addict becoming self aware. The daily episodes allows immersion into his adventure to the land of sobriety, and all the ups and downs of a day in the life.
Im quitting too
I have decided to give it another go and quit. Found this podcast in the last few days. Have binge listened to catch up…..still got a hundred and 80 to go. Real and edgy…funny and sad. Big problem……..will i start drinking when the podcasts end?????
Great podcast it’s my new addiction
Knowing the people and the stories. I can’t stop listening. Brilliant stories of some real life train wrecks. Good on you Boyle for honest recounts of why you gave up drinking. So much relatable material here. Love it.
Real & Funny!
Not a podcast for politically correct snowflakes! It’s real, it’s funny, it’s out there at times but above all a highly entertaining daily snapshot into the life of a dark witted comedian.
Better than quit lit
I’ve tried all the self help books and all the crap One Year No beer style plans but this is the best. Realistic and a good laugh. Will it help me quit booze? Probably not. Does it make me feel a bit better about myself and my messed up stories of drunken behaviour. Yes....yes it does. Thank you. I like the excessive swearing too
You happy now Boyle?
David Boyle is a good reminder that sometimes you have to ask for something nearly 200 times before you get it. Congrats on the 10th rating.
It's actually good
This is the most raw, shocking and hilarious voice to come out of the temperance scene in 50 years. If I become a world controller I will make this podcast mandatory listening for all citizens.
Relatable
Been listening to these podcasts almost every night for about a month now. I haven’t managed to kick my unhealthy relationship with alcohol, however, coming back to these podcasts each night helps me to stay positive that I will get it soon enough. I’m from England which means alcohol is part of everyday life and from what I’ve gathered so far, this appears to be the case in Australia too. It’s so bloody hard to remove yourself from a reality you’ve known your entire life so it’s very helpful to be able to listen to this and know there’s others out there going through the same thing. Anyway, I’m loving the series, I’m kept laughing throughout. Very relatable.
