Listener Reviews
I’ve started drinking heavier to get a F up Friday story
Such a good listen! Listed to 317 days worth of podcasts in 5 days. Sometimes I hear David’s voice as I’m trying to sleep.
Listen to Boyley boy
An entertaining podcast by a man angry at the world. It’s short and somewhat sweet. It’s kind of like Seinfeld, about nothing. If you have a 5-7 minute attention span like me, this is the perfect podcast. Give him a listen!
Life changing
Hilarious and heartfelt I recommend this podcast to everyone but particularly those with a history of drunken, debauched behaviour who know, deep down, they have to live a sober life. Whilst laughing at David’s stories you’ll recognise a lot of yourself. I’m as sure as I can be that David and his podcast will keep me sober. No pressure, Boyle.
Boyle is dry, from Alcohol.
I’ve really enjoyed the podcast over the last year, Boyle is relatable if you have lived a degenerate lifestyle in the past or now. Otherwise entertaining, if you enjoy listening to a sniveling, hairy gunt, windbag for over 5 minutes every couple days. Like I do. Bring on the vlogs David, you are a brave man!
Funny C#%!
Boyle’s experience with every drug known to man and his hilarious recollection of stories and insights is perfect for any moderately depressed drunk looking for comfort in others colossal mistakes. He’s a beauty and a legend for staying quit. Start from Day 1.
Boyle or Boil?
I don’t even use apple podcast but just to make boily happy here it is. I’m on Spotify, not that it matters. Anyways thank you David, you misery speaks to my misery and reminds me of some of the stupid stuff I’ve done naturally. The significance of that is that it brings back memories I’ve blacked out so it’s like I’m getting a part of myself back that was never missing. Oh and if you’re not Boyle and you’ve ever had a drink of alcohol, listen to this, they go by too fast which is why I gave David a year and a half head start. I’m also thinking about doing something similar like recording a little bit everyday about my own life. The only reason I wouldn’t put those recordings on a podcast is cause I don’t want to get sued by some stupid manager or paper pusher.
Always a great listen
I’ve been listening to DB for some time and I have to say that he’s a very funny bloke. The amazing thing is that on listening to him it actually helps me not to have a drink on that day!
I'm not quiting
Or maybe I will, I don't have an issue with it thus far😅 But I really love listening to all Boyle's stories. I can call him Boyle coz we are now mates coz I know his whole life story- he just doesn't know mine🤣 5 minute daily bits from Dave Boyle has been getting me through some dark times👌🏻 Lots a love to ya Boyle from Dublin☘️
The REAL DEAL
Most relatable account of giving up drinking. Has helped me on my journey also from degenerate to something more. Cheers mate, Carlton Zero when you come up to Newcastle.
He’s Funny
He viewed my story on Instagram the other day, so naturally, as a fan girl, here is my obligatory review - I don’t even listen to it here, I listen to it on Spotify..... keep up the good work
Best podcast around
Boyle is funny, dour, honest and entertaining. Better than all the JRE brigade and I like most of that lot.
Got to listen if alcohol is an issue!
Fantastic look at addiction in a humorous way, but the message is very relatable. I’m now sober and this helps me look at the funny side of not drinking. Thanks Dave!
Brilliant
Dave’s got me constantly laughing, feel like I’m listening to a voice note from a mate. Some really great stories, I’d recommend this to ANYONE, my dog, my cat, my mum, if my grandmother were alive I’ve recommend it to her, keep em coming mate.
5 star review for mr Boyle
This podcast is brilliant, much appreciated from the UK. Boyle is at the height of global wisdom, some have compared him to a bogan bhudda. I’m only 190 days in but I’ve never wanted to quit boozing more whilst wanting to drink an explicable amount at the same time. Have a good ‘un Boyle.
New York Sober
Love it. Boyle is hilarious, raw, refreshing and inspiring in his own way. Have listened from his first episode and I’m now about half way through and they keep getting better. Shows what sobriety can do! Keep letting it all out - your stories are relatable in every country. Best of luck DB, stay with it !
BOYLE!
I found this podcast a month in to sobriety. Really didnt know what to expect as I was just searching out stories of like minded people. What I found is so much more. Boyle is a funny f@cker that shares great stories of the past that reminds me of the stuff I've been through but maybe not to his extent. Its good to share a laugh as sobriety can just be straight boring sometimes. But it is worth it. This podcast reminds me that not everything is peaches and cream when you stop drinking but its funny to laugh about it too. See ya later!
Is it wrong I’m enjoying hearing a man going through Hell?
Only up to Day 8 of this podcast, but I am loving it. As a fellow heavy drinker, and potential life ruiner, I’m liking hearing someone swerving off the bevs, it gives me hope for myself. Not sure how the chronicles go after Day 8, but seeing as there’s 18 months of episodes I’d guess he’s doing well. Bevs forev.
Mr Boyle
You finally mentioned you see your reviews on here. Thank God! I hate social media and finally signed off of my Fakebook and IG when we all started sliding back in March for good! I almost almost signed up for Twitter to avoid those other sites and to be able to holla atcha. :) This single Mom in Florida finds amazing fulfillment from your daily podcasts. I dig your humor and find it hard not to start from the beginning of these but time is of the essence. Along with all the laughs you have taught me a-lot about Aussie lingo and hearing about you folk is eerily similar to my upbringing/life. With this being said is there an email I can correspond with?
