Wow!
I can’t believe how much I related to her experiences with her father. Mine were so similar, in nearly every way except that my dad isn’t a serial killer, or if he is he hasn’t been caught. Thanks for this- I’ve never heard things quite said this way. It made a lot of sense to me.

Enjoying the show
If I have to hear the jingle for Carol Fisher’s pod cast every 4 minutes I am going to have to stop listening. OMG! Please stop!

Revealing and Emotional
This podcast is opposite of the formulaic. Victim, daughter and horrible murderer! In its chapters I was given insights. I’m especially touched by the voices of all! Their emotional journeys were moving. I recommend this for listeners that key into crime dramas and narratives.

Great story telling.
You don’t need movies when you have true stories like this. I never ever listen to anything other then need and self help podcasts. This was my first time listening to something like this. Strong work.

Well written, music stinks
I love podcasts like these but man, the music really makes me want to turn it off. It’s so bad and really takes away from the great reporting and interviews.

So emotional
Episode 6 has me bawling. I’m a big true crime podcast fan- and none have ever hit me so hard. This podcast is really well produced, and Melissa and her family offer such important insight. Not to mention giving voice to the victims of the crime.

OMG
I’m almost finished with your first podcast. I think it’s amazing that you’re able to be so honest, and shed light on the family’s of serial killers. You’re not a monster. You’re a brave, and beautiful human. You’re doing wonderful things with your life to help others. God is with you every step 💙

Great
Great podcast it was really well done . I find her brother pretty interesting he so convinced his sister is innocent which I can understand that it seems he is blinded which is funny because he says it about many other people . He also says he know everything about the case but hasn’t read letters and other things, kinda feel bad for the guy but nothing he argues for her innocence makes any sense to me

Too long.
Got boring eventually. Too long.

♥️
Loved the way this story was told. Love this podcast please make more!

So. Many. Ads.
Great story. Very well done. Crazy amount of repetitive ads.

Great content
The story is very deep and done well. The amount of ads is way over the top.

OMG!
2 episodes in on season 1 and I can’t even believe what I’m hearing. My heart goes out to her and family. Im totally on the edge of my seat and speechless.

Greatness
Love you 2

Unbelievable
As some one who has grown up in Oregon and currently lives in Umatilla county this podcast hits close to home.

Love!!!
I love the in depth!!! I love the music!!! đź’šđź’šđź’šđź’šđź’š

Well done-mega commercials
Well produced podcast but a LOT of commercials. I understand that these podcasts cost money to produce but not so much that you need this many commercials in a 30 min episodes. Still- worth a listen.

The episodes are all messed up..
And some in the middle are missing. Spotify has them, but there are two of this podcast to follow and you have to find the one with the missing episodes. They are important episodes. So… it loses a star just bc if that. But, def worth a listen and an intriguing, while sad and disturbing, case.

Done well with great care and empathy
I am listening to season 2 and I’m impressed how well done. The point isn’t to prove/disprove guilt or innocence but to tell Becky’s story. The podcast yet is FAIRLY objective by including various viewpoints from different angles which I appreciate. Diane Down’s brother is a needed voice in this story but he just makes me feel bad that he’s just another victim of her manipulation. My only complaint is way too many commercials for a 30+ min episodes which unfortunately can undo the effort they put into not sensationalizing the story...but I fully support that creators should be paid for the work we consume and ads are the currency.

So touching and disturbing at the same time
The killers daughter and victims mother conversation was so touching. What this monster did will never define them and they released his power over them.

Stay string
Stay strong young lady your Bio Father will regret his decision one day..

Both seasons are riveting
Well done with loads of compassion and empathy for all victims.

Shine on Becky
I remember reading about Diane Downs when her crime was still fresh, and my first reaction was, What mother would not literally die to protect her children. Aside from all the noise of a bushy haired stranger there is no one else on planet that had any reason to shoot these children. She did it, case closed. However I’m so sorry that the baby she carried during the trial, Becky, has had such a hard road to try to understand her birth history. I too an adopted and can only imagine the upheaval she has endured. My heart goes out to Becky. I wish you all the peace and happiness life has to offer. You may never have all the answers, but from one adopted woman to another, I can tell you that how we were parented by our adopted parents will be the guiding light in our lives. My adoptive parents were wonderful people that helped shape me into a loving, caring and honest person. Nurture over nature is true, it is absolutely paramount in a child’s development. God Bless you Becky, may your life always be safe, and full of love. ❤️

Good, but James, Diane’s brother should not have such a large part.
I can’t stand listening to him talk- he is delusional and a narcissist himself. His absurd arguments for Diane’s innocence - especially the way he coolly bullies and begs Becky in attempt to get her to “advocate” for the innocence of his psychopathic sister. He should not have been given the sniveling voice he has here. It is absolutely sickening.

Season 1
While I sympathize with parts of Melissa’s childhood, she appears to be just as narcissistic as her dad. If not more. I found it strange at the times she “cried”. As awful as her dad is, he did have a point about her terminating her pregnancy. I came away with little sympathy. She comes across as loving the attention. If she didn’t she would find a new career path.

Reviews of season 2 are incredibly unfair
There are a lot of nasty things being said about Becky, all of them incredibly unfair. She has a right to tell her story and it doesn’t make her any more of an “attention seeker” as anyone else. She has her own pain to work through and because it isn’t the same as the pain of the two children who survived the shooting doesn’t make it less valid. And yes, the ads are annoying and there are far too many of them for a 30-40 minute podcast episode.

Jaw Dropping
Season 1 was interesting but Season 2 was just heartbreaking. Judging by the comments, some of you clearly missed the whole purpose of this podcast. It seems as if Becky is unwanted from people that she shares a blood line with... which is heartbreaking. Keep shining Becky and thank you for sharing your story!!!! I cannot wait to see the work that you and Melissa do.

Wonderful
I absolutely love this podcast. I can empathize with y’all on certain levels. I’m no child of a serial killer or murderous incubator, but I’ve endured abuse that has forever changed me. Y’all make me laugh, cry, and feel at peace, as odd as that sounds, with my situation. I am loved, I am enough, I am worthy and this too shall pass. Thank y’all for being brave and strong and sharing your story. You never know who’s life your touching or changing.
