This is How We Can Protect Our Athletes From Concussions

Listen to Joseph Maroon’s complete interview on the HALO Talks podcast, link on my profile.

Athletes that suffer concussions should not return to a game immediately.

The brain can be inflamed and successive hits to the head can aggravate it and make things worse.

Prevent future injuries by taking a break. If a person has suffered a concussion, there will almost certainly be some symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, irritability, lethargy, impaired concentration and short-term memory loss. This is due to the brain’s normal reaction to trauma.

Getting an immediate diagnosis by a doctor and AT THE VERY LEAST taking a break and preventing the risk of another hit can potentially save an athlete’s life!
