Can’t wait for more
Loved everything about this first show - the narration, the voice snippets from Em himself, hearing how the song came to be, everything. I also liked that it was 15 minutes - long enough to keep my attention and nothing felt fluffy or was unnecessarily drawn out. Plus, I dig how this episode dropped the same day as the song itself.Needless to say - I’m an early fan and I’m looking forward to future episodes 👏🏾
The format is similar to ‘Song Exploder’ but with Rick Ruben
Good start, But I am interested to see where it goes.
Oh hell yes
Didn't know what I was getting into when I opened this, but what an intro with MM. Although far from his biggest fan, I think Mr. Gladwell has the hang of this podcasting stuff. Bravo.
Legendary.
Genius & Genius interview Genius
Love!!!
Wish it was longer, at least 30 more minutes. I love music and love learning the story behind the song. Anything with the legendary Rick Rubin will always get a solid 5 stars from me!
Just, wow!
If your 1st PodCast is with Eminem, I think you’re going to do alright! :) Ok, but seriously, I have been an Em/Shady/Marshall fan since the 1st time I heard, “My Name Is”. I was born in August 1973, in a trailer, in West Virginia. Watched my dad die at 8, mom was crazy af. I lied to CPS on the regular to stay outta foster care. Mom was neglectful/abusive, we moved every year, etc. Each time Eminem releases a new album or spits a new freestyle, I can relate. This is a bond he has with so many of us and RARELY do you hear him talk about how he constructs the syntax of his words and paraphrase all of what he packs into each rhythm. Every line. And I love it! You captured pure gold , thank you. And thank you, Em/Marshall/Slim, for everything.
Thank You
As a podcast enthusiast and music lover of all genres, specifically hip hop and pop culture music I am ecstatic about this series of podcasts. Who could of thought of a better duo to sit down and give a creative, thought-provoking take on today’s climate of music. 🙏🏿
Malcom Does it Again
Regardless of the subject, Malcolm brings such deep insight and care into every project he works on, whether it’s a podcast or a book. Rick is a genius in his own right as well. Love the look into Eminem’s new song. Can’t wait to hear what else these 2 come up with.
More, please
I was just listening to old Eminem. I love MG and RR so it was a delight to hear them talk about this artist.
Love it but... credits?
Please give credit in your episode notes. It makes it easier for us to share & tweet. Episode 1 should credit Eminem and Beyoncé. Music people love liner notes!
Genius and inspired.
First episode with Eminem about the making of “walk on water” was amazing. I heard that song play on the radio two months ago and I cried in my car, I was so moved. It is a piece of perfection. If you care deeply and have given your life to your craft/passion this song will strike you to the core. Sorry to digress about this specific episode, but it needed to be said. To have begun with this powerful track and genius artist is how inspiring podcasting is done.
Awesome insight wishing I could get to that same level giving them that feeling good music gives me

Fresh air in music gods form
Rubin & Eminem are classic and this is also the first podcast I’ve ever downloaded/subscribed to. Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is going to be a hit!
Gladwell can narrate anything and it would be satisfying on its own; but, when you add the behind-the-scene genius of Mark Rubin, I am certain that this show will be nothing short of amazing! Excited for more!
Greatness
Hard to imagine not liking anything Malcolm Gladwell creates. Thanks
A music lover's cognac!
A delectable treat for those who enjoy glimpses into the creative process. The first episode was so moving. I look forward to more.
A Podcast with a Beat
A podcast that i can get in to. I am so looking forward to Malcolm Gladwell’s story telling genius and Rick Rubin’s music industry knowledge to bring is the narrative behind a song. If anything like this short bit I’ll be waiting patiently as each new episode is released. Subscribed and ready!!
Listen to this
Gladwell’s analysis and Rubin’s access creates a marvel podcast. Eminem a great first guest- wish it were longer though.
Wow
What an epic collaboration. So excited.
Absolutely Enjoyable

Dynamic Duo
I cannot wait for more episodes. 2 of my favorite creators, in one place. Iconic
Legends
I mean... Whoever put these two together is a genius. I couldn't get into podcasts before this
Potential
Ever since listening to Rubin on the Tim Ferris show, I’ve found myself always searching out interviews of his to hear is perspective. The one with Kendrick is great as well. Him coupled with Malcom Gladwell stirs up my curiosity to having my full attention. The first show focusing on Eminem tells a great story and is reflective in Jay Zs 4:44 album. I’m excited to see where this podcast spins plays off to.
