Loved the Barry Gibb episode
Wow. Rick your interviews are great for so many reasons. I appreciate your authenticity and vulnerability, and the reverence you extend guests. Your interview of Barry Gibb brought out his love for music, genius as a songwriter, and accessibility as a human being. I got choked up when you amplified his mic during Lamp Light. This was a special, one-of-kind episode. Thank you thank you thank you.
Great podcast
The interviews can be hit or miss based on the guests but the highs are really high.
I want more
Rick Rubin is an outstanding producer who just seems to know how to pull artists toward new creative expressions of their best offerings. I will always be grateful for his contributions to important artistic works by such an eclectic bunch. I am particularly fond of what he did with Petty and Cash and the Beastie Boys. Anyway, I love to hear bits and pieces about the creative process and the stories behind the artists and the music they’ve made. Rick, I’m sure, has an unbelievable amount of tales to tell while working with such brilliance. I want more of that. And if it can’t happen on this podcast, please Rick, write a book. Your eclectic tastes and talents are fascinating to me. I love that you love artists and I appreciate your humility when working with them.

Fantastic conversation with Barry Gibb!!
Amazing show except for one part...
I love this show. The guests are top notch and the interviewers are the best. Expect for Rick Rubin. He always turns the conversation to himself. His episodes are filled with humble brags and then comments about how he doesn’t focus on his past or his accomplishments. The Andre 3000 episode was painful. One of the best MCs and a rare opportunity to hear what he has to say and Rick spend the time talking about himself and the Beastie Boys. Ugh. I could care less about the BB. I’ve learned that I just have to skip any episode that he is on and I enjoy it a lot more.
Cool
Cool
Rick Rubin Malcolm Gladwell legendary musicians? Yep.
I can’t get enough of listening to Rick Rubin talk about music, and I love how into *everything* Malcolm Gladwell is. Music history, the construction of songs, albums and careers, backstories, amazing guests, deep cuts, etc. It’s a GREAT podcast.
The Boss in long form
Fantastic interview and conversation with Bruce Springsteen. I appreciated the depth of the questions which led to very insightful answers. Having followed his career for over 40 years, read and listened to countless interviews, I thought I knew a lot about his life and evolution as a musician. You were able to dig deeper and explore areas that were fascinating and new for a life long fan like me. Thank you!
Thank You.
I can’t put into words how much this podcast has meant to me. The wisdom, the stories, the processes, the honesty and candidness, the joy of all things music/artistry and the way you guys conduct these interviews is absolutely a gift you’ve given us all. So, thank you...
Excellent
Wonderfully presentation, well worthy of your time, crafted with love by true fans but giving the artist the room to express what they create. So glad I found this podcast ❤️❤️
Digging It
Enjoyed to hear the insights and history of some of my favorite music. Kudos!
Like sitting in on a recording session
I love this podcast and am a sucker for an inside look at the people I admire and listen to daily. Rick Rubin is like your favorite uncle you love to see at the family gatherings, full of stories and cool experiences. Great podcast if you enjoy Stern, Letterman or Dax style interviews. More women, please! ❤️
Amazing Lenny Kravitz episode
Rick Rubin is the guru and best friend everyone deserves and this interview explains it all.
Excellent podcast but I need some Metallica 🤘
Love the podcast! I just wanted to suggest bring Metallica on.
Absolute favorite
Visual artist, I love listening to artists talk about their process. Great environment, great interviews
Overall good. Some musicians are in love with themselves
I haven’t picked up a musical instrument in over a decade and barely listen to music these says. Nonetheless, I often enjoy the interviews and sometimes even give a listen to some of the artists’ work after hearing them on the show. But... is it just me or are some of these musicians super into themselves? Sometimes I don’t finish shows because I get irritated
I love the podcast!!
Everything is great but Bruce Headlam has to go. He seems so skeptical and answers the artists like they are children “Okay...” “Right...”
Where's Kanye?
Great show! We need a Kanye episode!
rick rubin!
just commenting cause the previous reviewer is incorrect, rubin's a great interviewer, very zen/tao. gladwell is a great interviewer, too. to you both, thank you for making this podcast, i love it.
Really get to know the artists
Not just a DJ asking the same boring questions. New and old artists get to sit down and talk, love the format.
Broken Record ROCKS!!!
GREAT POD! Teaming Malcolm and Rick is inspired thinking. Just one request... Please do a feature episode with Herbie Hancock! Thanks in advance...
Great in-depth conversations with artists
I look forward to each episode and the great discussions had on this podcast, especially the great questions Rick Rubin asks from his perspective. I love when the artists are willing to play a bit on the show, but regardless, each episode is wonderful!
